For the last year or so, once every 2 weeks to a month, I write my future self an email. They will be received starting my birthday 10 years after I began writing, and they will receive one letter every saturday. I am chronicling my life, my thoughts, and experiences virtually. The reason for this is because, 9 years from now, my future self will only have a few memories from his time as being me right now. Every thing I am experiencing, my memories, my ideas, my desires, what I find significant, will likely change. By that time, the me that is writing this will be dead. By the time the letters are received, from an atomic standpoint I will be a different person, from an electromagnetic data my mind will be a different mind, and physically I will look different. Every day, every second, you die, to be replaced by a new instant of time. What I call kirdneh is really an amalgamation of information that is loosely tied together through time. By the time my emails are to be recieved by the entity that calls itself the same name as I call myself who also shares a few of my memories, the I right now will be dead physically, but still partially saved as digital typing. A few of my current thought-processes will be saved for the future. Right now a couple dozen of those kirdneh-save-states of a sort are saved on some harddrives somewhere far away in the world, computer clock ticking, ticking, ticking the time instances away until a certain number is reached, and then it will be sent away as data to computer after computer, traveling around the world until it reaches my email. Or maybe it doesn't; email could fade away. War could destroy the computer, EMPs and nukes. Who knows. All I know is that in this instance, my current mental model of my hypothetical future self is one of the only if not the only person who listens to me.
