PERSONALITY. /
     → to put it simply, celeste is delirious. but in a good way? due to her eccentric personality, she's usually referred to as a walking meme or crackhead. even her own members tell her on a daily that she's too much. although they're usually just joking considering she's not the most annoying member (at least she thinks so). however, at a first glance, you wouldn't expect this from her. it always surprises her friends and members how shy she gets in public. she appears very timid and reserved, which is how she acts around most people she's not close with. however, when she is close with you, she's a total nut. getting close with her isn't difficult, she isn't completely closed off. she just doesn't like to give her trust too easily. she can be a little naive at times, but she's usually still on top of things. she's very in check with her feelings and tries to avoid causing problems with them. though, she can be a little stubborn at times. she's also pretty competitive, especially with stupid stuff that doesn't matter. but to the public eye, she's just a shy softie. overtime, there might be peeks of her obnoxiousness at events, but mainly behind closed doors. after a while of being in the group, it'll definitely show in videos and vlives, even at fan meetings. celeste truly loves to laugh, even if she might try to hide it around some. when she's with those she's close to she'll let her screeches go. she's always up to date with the trends and memes going around and uses them a lot. which some people genuinely call her crazy, but she never takes it seriously. she's used to hearing all kinds of jokes like that and even makes them herself. she has a big mouth, and constantly uses it. most of the time it's just her laughing though. she's so loud she gives herself a headache.



BACKGROUND. /
     → growing up mixed was a different experience for celeste, but truthfully she never experienced too many hardships. being able to live in america was probably the best thing she could have asked for. funnily enough, she not american in any way ethnically. her father is vietnamese and her mother is italian. however, her mother was adopted by american parents. it’s crazy that despite their different backgrounds, her parents ended up happily together after meeting in college. when celestia and her brother were born, it was a year after their parent’s marriage and the beginning of their careers. the twins would often stay with their grandparents until they were old enough to stay home alone. growing up with an american family, celestia’s mother never really got to experience anything relating to her homeland. However, her father had moved to america from vietnam to be able to pursue a career so he was very much influenced by his culture. over time while studying and living in america he learned to adapt and picked a lot of the american way of living.  so while being italian-vietnamese she never got a whole lot of her italian side and a minimum of her vietnamese side throughout her life. with having two successful doctor parents, she lived kinda well-off. they had a nice house, trendy clothes, allowances, so it was great. she and her brother were raised really well. the two were your average brother and sister duo, they’d bicker and pick on each other but overall was extremely close. and on top of it all, they were competitive about everything. Her brother would often use vietnamese around her since she wasn’t able to learn the language as easily as him. all throughout her life, celestia has been a bit shy, but when she had her brother with her it wouldn't be nearly as much when she'd be alone. with that being said, she relied on him a lot, especially in school settings. it was thanks to him that she could make friends or really do anything. she often would push him to do favors for her, like asking about assignments or going to the office for her. celestia would often avoid things that even interested her if it meant she'd have to be on her own. of course, once she hit high school it started to fade a bit and she was a bit more capable on her own, but she would still often hesitate to do things. luckily she had her brother to push her to do things still, just like he did with dance. everyone likes to dance around their house, but celestia would constantly do it. she loved it to death. she never really thought about dancing for real though. she figured it was something you had to do when you were young or else you were screwed. but when her brother brought her a flyer about a dance studio, she didn't know how to feel. it definitely took a lot of pushing but eventually, she ended up there, and she was really glad she was there. from her freshman year on, she would go every week, almost every day. she saw it more as a hobby, even though she enjoyed doing it so much. she didn't even feel comparable to the other girls, especially considering the years of dancing they had on her. however, one day she heard them talking about auditioning for some kind of korean company. for some reason, it really sparked her interest. when she went home and was doing research, she was surprised at how captivating kpop idols can be. after that night she would constantly talk about it with her brother and show him clips, and with his tendency to push her to do things, he told her she should audition too. after a loooong night of talking she figured she'd give it a shot. she didn't speak korean and there was no way she could learn it in time, but she didn't want to give up hope. so when the time came for jyp's global auditions, she gave it her all and expected to not get in. however, she did! somehow celestia vu got in and she could not believe it. her parents already knew about it and actually supported her. but within all this planning, celestia seemed to ignore one big part. she would have to travel to south korea alone. she didn't even speak korean and she'd have to go alone? she was petrified. however, when she got there jyp made sure to make her feel welcomed. even tho she only stayed for 6 months. despite it being a big company with almost guaranteed success, celestia hated the pressure. she felt like she didn't fit in enough. which on top of it all jyp was starting put sixteen into motion and she really wasn't feeling it. so she quickly got out if there and started auditioning for any company she could. she was extremely thankful when bighit took her in. they were a much smaller scale company and she enjoyed the feeling there. bighit would eventually give her the final push she needed to believe she could actually be an idol.
