seven crows plucked out my eyes
as i lay there paralyzed
the desert heat molested me
as those crows began to shriek

"have you heard of the man with the broken neck
who cursed this earth with his dying breath

they said "hell breaks loose when heaven declares martial law"

they tracked him down when he took their gold
and made him repeat every lie he told
they made him listen to every note
his wife sung out from her sliced up throat

those seven crows kissed me goodbye
as i floated and dissolved into the sky
oh what a shameful man i've been all my life

"have you seen the man with a thirst for blood
who loads his favorite bible verses into his gun"
have you seen that man passing through these streets

i want to be hospitalized

i want feel myself slip in a coma

someone, someone call in the nurse
my anesthesia wore off like a widow's broken heart
my head split like a vital organ ripped apart

i wore my dancing shoes inside the ICU
they played my favorite song, a lovely flatline tune
they call it hospital jazz whenever death swings through
"may i have this dance" the coroner asks you

and we know, and we know, just how this bad news is gonna go

i want to be romanticized
