        Star followed Marco downstairs with a slight spring to her step. Things still weren't great, but they’re better now. Star knows Marco never meant to hurt her at least not intentionally, but it was nice to hear him apologize and admit he messed up, plus that hug afterward...Star missed those hugs from him so much. She sat down on the couch with Marco Jr. on her lap as Marco set up the movie; they had to wait for Jackie to show up. Marco smiled at her as he sat down, he picked up a plate of nacho's he had on the table and offered some to Star who took a handful and stuffed them into her mouth with a huge grin. Star’s thoughts turned to Marco again; this was more like, it she missed these moments, just her and her loyal knight. Even though it was only for a Mewnipendence Day re-enactment, as far as Star was concerned, he was an officially sanctioned knight for House Butterfly. The gerbil that is her mind returned to its little exercise wheel and Star began to think, she should probably have some sort of ceremony for Marco to super mega officially knight him. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.

"Oh good, Jackie's almost here. I just got a text," Marco said snapping Star back to reality.

"Oh goodie, can't wait," Star replied trying to sound as joyful as possible.

That girl...that girl...while her mind was on Jackie, Star came to the conclusion that whatever reason Jackie had for being jealous of her and Marco's bond she did it to herself. Any other person would have just asked if she and Marco were a couple, but nope, she just assumed and started acting like a bitch toward Star because of her own insecurities. And even after they became a couple she still continued to be passive aggressive towards her...doesn't she know what an honest, loyal, and caring guy Marco is? If he promises her that she's the only girl he loves, it’s the truth. If he says he'll never stray and take a bullet for her, it’s the truth. If she were ever feeling down, Marco would move mountains to cheer her up. Star knew all these things and if she was in Jackie's shoes she would...she would...she...
Star massaged her forehead with her hand; she had got a migraine all of a sudden. Star knows all these things about Marco, all amazing qualities and yet...and yet like a moron she pushed him into the arms of another girl, a girl that cares about him and yet will never fully deserve him and everything he does. Star raised her knees up to her chest and hugged the corner of the couch; Marco was too busy texting Jackie to notice her fighting back tears.

Star began to compose herself; she was not expecting this many revelations tonight. She took a few deep breaths and grabbed some more of Marco's nachos and ate them and felt relaxed. All this time she didn't like how quickly Marco had forgotten about her in favor of Jackie as the new alpha in the pack, but that can be changed and she knows Marco won't let it happen again. What can't be changed is the sickening feeling that she let the one boy who would love her unconditionally slip through her fingers.
Marco Jr. nibbled at her sleeve, he could tell something was wrong, and the feeling must have passed on to Marco because he then noticed it too.

"Star? Are you ok you aren't looking so good," Marco asked with concern.

"I'm fine," Star said, her voice was strained as she was still resisting the urge to burst into tears.

"I was just remembering the ending to the movie we last saw together, the one with the sentient toys."

"Oh yeah, Toy Story 3. Don't do that to yourself, even I can't hold it together for long with that movie, especially the incinerator scene," Marco replied, feeling relieved. "Remind me to never ever show you UP, it might literally kill you. Then where am I going to find another mess-up twin, huh?"

Marco then picked up Marco Jr. and raised him to Stars eye level while moving his paw to make it look as if he was waving at her. "Cmon..where's that smile? We’re not moving until we see you smile!"

Star jumped up on the couch hugged Marco and Marco Jr. How badly she wanted Jackie to cancel so they could have this night alone. How badly she wished that it wasn't too late to say, ‘forget about Jackie I'm here and I will always be here for you!’ No, no, that's lame and doesn't convey anything, what Star wishes she could say is ‘I'm sorry for being such an idiot, you’re amazing and any girl would be lucky to have you, but they can't because I want you!’ Marco patted her back, and Marco Jr. Climbed up on her shoulder as Star hugged Marco even tighter.

"Am I interrupting something?" Jackie's voice cut through the silence. "The door was unlocked"

Marco let go of Star, or least tried, but Star wouldn't let go easily eventually she just fell back onto the couch and back into a sitting position. Star mumbled something very rude at Jackie who luckily didn't overhear.

"Oh, hey, Star was just feeling down over something she remembered, I cheered her up," Marco said as he walked over planting a kiss on Jackie's each of her cheeks. Jackie returned the affection with a big sloppy kiss to Marco's lips.
"Okay, let’s get the movie going," Jackie whispered.

Marco lead her by the hand back onto the couch, he sat at one end while Jackie sat next to him and next to Star. However, something told Marco that was probably a bad idea so he asked Jackie to switch seats with him and she complied without hesitation.

"So, is Star staying for the whole movie? I'm just asking because I don't think we have enough food," Jackie asked Marco. Star made a face, oh sure it's the food she's so concerned about yeah right.

"Yes, she is, Jackie, I invited her because she’s our friend," Marco replied quickly and sternly. He was trying to keep everything under control, but he was starting to feel trapped between a rock and a hard place. Jackie looked displeased but said nothing.

"What movie are we watching?" Star asked, trying to end the awkward silence.

"Its called the Kingsmen: The Secret Service, based on a comic book I think. It’s suppose to be really good," Marco replied fumbling for the remote. "Just, ya know, don't tell my parents. They don't like me watching R-rated movies, but its just an action flick, we've probably done way more dangerous stuff in real life," Marco asked turning to Star.

"Heck yeah, we have," Star replied going for a high five, and Marco gave her one.

Jackie rolled her eyes. "Okay, well, let’s start it then," she said and rested her head on Marco's shoulder.

Marco started the movie, and he was right, it was pretty good. If these are what human knights do nowadays, Star was glad Marco was a Mewman knight. Somehow, it seemed less dangerous. As the movie went on, Jackie had climbed onto Marco's lap, she wrapped her arms around his neck and stretched out her legs on the couch. Her feet were practically on Stars lap before Marco scooched to the other side of the couch and she bent her knees towards her waist. Wasn't long before the sounds of them making out were as loud as the movie itself, it was quite the cute scene...Star hated it. She tried to focus on the movie, she loved the character’s funny accents they reminded her of Mewni.

Star glanced over at Marco and Jackie. Jackie had moved Marco's hand in between her legs and was practically clawing at his chest. This was the first time Star had agreed joined them on their movie nights, and clearly the last.  They weren't even watching the movie anymore Star wasn't sure how they were even breathing they hadn't come stopped gnawing at each others mouths for, like, 15 minutes straight. It wasn't long before Jackie started to mumble cutesy things to Marco to which he would say cutesy things back. Star wasn't sure how much more of this she could take; it was killing her on the inside. Worse, her body was starting to crave that it was her butt that Marco just squeezed. Marco Jr. began to whimper and jumped on Star’s lap again, he had been quiet but maybe was starting to sense Star’s uneasiness.

"Let's go to your room," Jackie whispered, loud enough for both Marco and Star to hear her. "You said you're parents aren't home."

"What?!" Star asked out loud. She can't believe what she's hearing.

Marco blushed hard, "Uh, but the movie! Besides, afterward all three of us should play video games."

"Forget all that, show me some of those secret karate moves of yours, Marco," Jackie whispered, and at the same time she glanced at Star just smiled at her. Star made a fist, oh, how she wanted to punch her. Marco Jr. ears perked up and he looked at Star and then at Jackie and back to Star and finally back to Jackie and growled.

Marco was still blushing, as Jackie got off him and grabbed his hand to stand him up.

"I've already seen this movie, if you want we can go re-enact the ending. You said you were good at re-enactments and being a knight," Jackie said kissing Marco's neck.

"Uh, I, uh, haven't seen it yet and first I'd like to-" Marco began he was stuttering his words.

"Technically he is an actual knight but only for me and my kingdom," Star said between gritted teeth.

"Even better, since we’re on earth and she has no jurisdiction here. Tonight you can be my knight and I'll be your princess," Jackie whispered.

Star was about to get up and knock her teeth out. She didn't care if Marco ends up hating her for the rest of her life. Instead, however, she got up and headed upstairs. She lied, she was weak, she does care if Marco hates her or not, and at least this way she can both cry into a pillow and cover her ears so she doesn't have to hear anything. Jackie began to lead Marco upstairs by the hand as well, Marco was looking kind of scared things were moving way too fast.

“Jackie, you know how much you mean to me, but maybe” Marco Jr. then jumped on his shoulder making Marco stop mid sentence.

"Aww, looks like Marco Jr. wants to go with you," Jackie said scooping him up in her arms. "Should we let him watch?" she asked Marco in a half joking half seductive tone. Star was already crying as she began walking up the steps, that's when she heard Jackie yelp. Marco Jr. had bitten her finger.

"Oh hey, not nice Marco Jr. you don't want to hurt mommy, now do you?" Marco said, trying to discipline him. Marco Jr. just snapped at Jackie's finger again biting her a second time.

"Ow, that one actually kinda hurt," Jackie said and put down Marco Jr. and massaged her fingers. Suddenly she felt a slight burning sensation on her leg, Marco Jr. blasted her with his lasers.

"Hey, boy! C'mon, knock it off!" Marco protested as Marco Jr. almost always listens to him.

Marco Jr. hit Jackie's other leg, it felt like someone touching your bare skin with a match that was still lit. Jackie took a few steps back, as it was starting to hurt. Marco Jr. was relentless however and just ran around her in circles blasting her with lasers. Jackie had nowhere to run all she could do is hope some of the laser beams don't hit her in the eye. Unfortunately, a few did her in the face and those hurt the most.

"Marco help!" Jackie pleaded.

Marco tried to catch Marco Jr. but he was fast. "I don't know what’s wrong with him! I swear, he's never done this before!"

Jackie backed up and tripped over the coffee table crashing into the couch making her more of an easy target for Marco Jr.

"Ow! It hurts! C'mon, doggie, stop!" Jackie pleaded as laser beams pelted her body. She was about to start crying when Marco tackled Marco Jr. and held him up so all he could shoot was the ceiling.

Jackie stood up; she was covered in purple bruises they almost looked like someone put out their cigarettes on her skin.


"Got him," Marco said, out of breath from chasing him around the living room. "Bad dog Marco Jr,!" Marco said scolding him. Marco Jr. just whimpered and then licked Marco's hand.


From the stairs, Star saw the whole thing.


"Good dog Marco Jr," Star said with a smile.
