Or, what you should know before reading

Arc Flash is written with my headcannon in mind, such as an Equetraian day being 16 hours of 90 minutes (16 90s is the same amount of time as 24 60s, given the same minute length)(based on that 8-hour clock picture). Not all of it will likely make it in, as then it would become more convoluted and would lose track of what it is. I do, however, plan on explaining in some way whatever headcannon I use. Hopefully in a way that isn't just anon asking and getting an answer right away.

With that in mind, this story is written as if season 3 does not exist. I am well behind the episodes, and will likely stay that way. I don't want to have to go back and change my plans if an episode contradicts anything yet to be written. Apparently there will be more backstory for Celestia, Luna, and Discord, for instance. I already have a history in mind for the alicorn in general, and it already ties into my story much later on. Note that this means I /may/ have to use some cannon from S3E1, since that's the first time of seeing the crystal pone. As of this writing, I have not seen it yet, so I don't know what it details.

Also, of Season 2, I hold "The Mysterious Mare Do Well" and "It's About Time" as being dreams or some shit. The former because of several elitist-sounding reasons, and because it makes RD into more of a bitch than I imagine she was meant to be. The latter because having such an open-ended time spell breaks causality and any tension, tragedy, or drama to happen ever. Also because Twilight's character felt off.

I'm picky about my canon, aren't I?



Lastly, a list if authors I've stolen ideas or plot points from (or just are similar enough to warrant mentioning). No particular order. I recommend everyone on this list as at least a good read.

These aren't the only writers I like (truth be told, I've read a good majority of the masterlist). But I felt it'd be good to note my inspirations. If you've read at least a few of these authors, you can probably tell the theme and direction Arc Flash is heading. If not, I won't spoil anything further.
