  1. This is just a backup of the old version of the Palette Editor's page of the hisouten wiki.
  2.
  3. The palette editor is a tool for SWR and Soku which allows you to modify the palette data of characters' in-game sprites. This can be done by either editing the color yourself or applying pre-made palette data. Here's a quick instruction on how to get it working.

  8. == Creating palettes ==
  9. *'''1.''' Download the [http://coolier.sytes.net:8080/th_up4/index.php?id=2516 palette editor] or the [http://www.mediafire.com/?5adbst1s5o5kcjt Palette Editor for 1.10]
  10. *'''2.''' Unzip the file and run 緋色.exe (緋色 弐 for 1.10 Hisoutensoku editor). You may need to change the language setting to Japanese or use Applocale if you get error message (this is REQUIRED for the 1.10 editor, or you will always get a "Black Reimu" on your saved palettes, as well as the program not minimizing when attempting to apply the palettes)
  11. *'''3.''' When the program prompts you to select a path, choose SWR's installation directory.
  12. *'''4.''' Go to ファイルF) -> 新規作成N) and choose the character to create palette for.
  13. *'''5.''' Begin editing by clicking an area within the sprite to edit and using the palette tools on the right side. Left/right changes between sprites while up/down is used to zoom.
  14. *'''6.''' Go to ファイルF)-> 名前を付けて保存(A) to save the palette.

  16. === Applying the palettes to in-game sprites ===
  17. You need to have either .Net Framework 1.1 or above installed or have msvcr71.dll (included in zip) in your system folder.
  18. *'''1.''' Put all your palettes to a directory of your choice.
  19. *'''2.''' Go to パレットリストL) -> 参照フォルダ設定(S) and select the directory you chose above.
  20. *'''3.''' From the list of palettes at the bottom, highlight the file of your choice and press any number from 1 to 9 to assign a key. Up to 9 palettes can be used for each character. (For the 1.10 editor, press space to set it for one of the available palettes in the Character Select screen and press Delete to remove it. Press Shift + Space to set it for Player 1 Replay Palette, and press Ctrl + Space to set it for the Player 2 Replay Palette. To remove these, simply press Shift + Delete for Player 1 and Ctrl + Delete for Player 2)
  21. *'''4.''' With the palette editor still running, launch SWR (or Hisoutensoku). This will hide the palette editor window.
  22. *'''5.''' From character select screen, press the assigned key number (shift+assigned key in case of 2P) before selecting a character to use the desired palette. This has to be done after every match if you want to continue using the palette. Press 0 to return palette selection to default. (In Hisoutensoku, you can choose the palettes, no need for this step)
  23.
  24. NOTES for Hisoutensoku 1.10: As of now, you NEED to use Applocale as well, or Japanese region locale for the Hisoutensoku game itself to let the palette editor window recognize it and minimize. Also, the Full English Translation patch is not compatible with the palette editor. Only the original game, or the Weather only patch works. You can save an original copy of the th123w.dat somewhere else, and rename the th123e.dat to th123w.dat, and run the weather patch for the full translated game. However, all of the quote symbols and backslashes will be Yen signs (mostly only on the spell cards)

  26. === Finding premade palettes ===
  27. Not very many palette sites are known at this time. Contributions are welcome.
