  1. ==============================================================================
  2. The only part I’m writing of this because this is impossibly hard to write - Compa-anon
  3. ==============================================================================
  4.
  5. Compa cheerily sat in the living room, knitting away and sipping from a Thermos of tea.
  6.
  7. It was a constant struggle for you to keep up this mask, eventually you would slip up someday. Lying to a girl that innocent about what she did when it was cook narcotics that landed people in the same hospital she worked in was horrible, but its what had to be done, at least you thought. Honestly if it weren’t for IF and Compa you doubted you would’ve even made it this far. You thought it too cruel, too embarrassing to explain to the girl what she was doing. The girl, despite her utterly oblivious tendencies eventually picked up on your expression as you trapped in deep thought.
  8.
  9. “Noooire-sama, are you feeling well?” she said, almost sing-songy.
  10.
  11. “I-I’m fine Compa, don’t-don’t worry about me.” You couldn’t help but turn your head and make an indignant face. You really wanted to tell her the truth. It didn’t seem possible to you. After all, you were the friendless one, the one without social skills.
  12.
  13. Nepgear’s partially drunken rambling soon invaded the room, as she cursed her burnout sister as well as the government. It took very little time for Compa to pick up on what was going on. Nepgear was in no way subtle when she said:
  14.
  15. “Look I’m about to celebrate I heard about the fallen cop.”
  16.
  17. Nepgear had taken the neglect of 2 decades badly, not nearly as sinisterly as her sister, but still in horrible disarray. Neptune hadn’t been seen in almost half that time outside of an occasional strung out appearance, begging for money. Nepgear had long since given up and this first appearance like this in front of the caring Compa was too much.
  18.
  19. “Ge-Ge are you sick? Do you need medicine or treatment?”
  20.
  21. Gear responded by pointing at the brown bag on the table. Compa didn’t understand until you explained it, Gear was self medicating. It was reluctant, but you offered a shoulder to the sister of your former best friend. It wasn’t an honest gesture, you had seen this coming but would’ve rather let it occur than to have explained your feelings for some reason. Gear was a good girl, she shouldn’t be doing this. You missed the way she interacted with your sister, Uni.
  22.
  23. It had only been a few days since that night, solidifying your territory kept sales quick and frequent. You were a boss, a real life God Father or Scarface. Offering protection to stores in the direct vicinity of your homebase was a practical and realistic source of income. Thinking of business kept your mind away from the emotional apocalypse that was your team of girls. You couldn’t dodge it forever, but maybe if you got this done quick, there would be some hope for them. Hopefully you could get everyone off the street and have new dealers on the ground, turn everyone here into leaders.
  24.
  25. The idea made you tear up a bit as you sat alone on the porch in the dead of night. Who were you kidding? You would trade out your best friends for people you didn’t know so that they got killed instead. Who really cared if your friends lived if they were already dead inside? Anger welled up, you could help but sob as you beat the worn punching bag in the garage to a pulp. Uni walked in as you buried your head in your hands.
  26.
  27.
  28. “Onee-chan…?”
  29.
  30. “Id-Idiot, I’m not cry-crying or anything…” You tried to hide your face and to choke back the tears for her. Anything to show a straight face and not be questioned. Uni tried to comfort you but you turned her away, shoving her when she tried to get close again. No.
  31.
  32. No.
  33.
  34. No.
  35.
  36. You spread your awful condition to her, you could see the despair in her eyes. You wanted to speak, to say that you were sorry. To be honest about how you felt for the first time in years. Uni walked away without you saying a word.
  37.
  38. It seemed like just at that moment the gunfire started, the house raked with bullets.
  39.
  40. There wasn’t even time to shoot back.
  41.
  42. Uni laid in your arms, bleeding out, and you couldn’t get up the final gumption to even tell her that you loved her.
  43.
  44. You felt a sharp pain in your leg, you had been hit in the thigh. The bleeding was quick and you felt yourself going numb as quickly as you could realize your failure in the face of everything that had actually mattered to you.
  45.
  46. ==============================================================================
  47.
  48. “She’s awake!!!” Compa cried out.
  49.
  50. You were at home, the Lastation Basilicom.
  51.
  52. “What happened? Why am I here?” you drowsily said with a parched mouth.
  53.
  54. You felt the sweat dripping off your skin. Someone had handily undressed you, leaving you to wonder how long Compa had been admiring your cute underwear.
  55.
  56. Your Oracle was deeply concerned about you, you wanted to know what had changed. You had apparently been on a mission and gotten knocked out. To worsen the situation, you had been fighting a sickness and the coinciding stress upon your body sent you into a coma.
  57.
  58. Whew...
