  1. >be anonhorse
  2. >strapping young lad, you decided school was for nerds and went off to spend your teenage years making some sweet shekles
  3. >you'd grown up in Ponyville, and Sweet Apple Acres was where you got most of your work done before
  4. >gave you some nice muscles, you aren't bulky or anything but you're still pretty fit
  5. >and Sweet Apple Acres is great
  6. >but you needed a change of scenery
  7. >fortunately for you, you'd overheard Granny Smith talking to her kids about work down south on some cherry farm
  8. >so you hopped right on that
  9. >as a bonus, none of the Apples wanted to leave home so there wasn't even any competition for it
  10. >feels good
  11. >so you've been doing harvesting and sorting and the like
  12. >lots of grunt work
  13. >you have a little place all to yourself on the farm
  14. >just a small... well, shack would be an accurate description, but it's not shabby in any sense of the word
  15. >there are a few other little homes around yours where other permanent resident workers reside
  16. >things are alright
  17.
  18. >you're working the conveyer belt today, sorting yellow from red
  19. >you're sure they have actual names but it's just yellow and red to you
  20. >you gotta admit, not your favorite thing to do
  21. >most of the time
  22. >"Hello, everypony!"
  23. >everypony murmers and quips back a smattering of hellos
  24. >you don't dare look up, so you smile down at the cherries as you listen to her voice
  25. >Cherry Jubilee, proprietor of the farm and your boss
  26. >well, the boss of your boss, anyway
  27. >you don't know what it is about her, but whenever she's in a room, it always seems to brighten up a bit
  28. >probably just a stupid colthood crush
  29. >even if you are just a bit older than a colt by now
  30. >but how else do you explain it?
  31. >you haven't even had extended conversations with her at all
  32. >in fact, that longest conversation you've had with her was when you said hello to her one morning as you were walking into the cherry orchard
  33. >naturally, you refused to make eye contact and nearly collapsed from hyperventilating
  34. >you continue to do your job, whistling softly to yourself as Cherry walks over to talk to the foreman
  35. >your ears flick back as you try and catch some of the conversation
  36. >something about production and employee benefits
  37. >you can only catch so much around the noise of the workroom
  38. >suddenly, they stop, and you hear hoof beats approaching you
  39. >quickly, you attempt to look busy
  40. >"Anon!"
  41. >fug
  42. "Y-Yes, Foreman?"
  43. >Foreman Silver Chain is standing right behind you
  44. >you can almost feel him breathing down your neck
  45. >that might have to do with the fact that he's breathing down your neck
