We're about to drop out of hyperspace and begin our burn for Sophita, but haven't you read up on the Domain-era ships? The Explorers were mobile starbases used for colonization - they were also really heavily armored and utterly gigantic. They're about as large as three Onslaughts put side by side! I'd love to get my hands on one...
