Veronica and Ryan scene

Step. Step. Step.

The sound of plated greaves resounded throughout the halls of the Keep. Depravity surged throughout the halls as the Lich King made his entrence, step by step as he approached the throne room. Undead servants and guards moved aside as he entered with a small trio of Undead, his personal guard as some might say.

It seems he was here on business.

Step. Step. Step.

It didn't take him long to arrive at the throne room, resided upon by none other than Veronica Kyros. As he approached, the undead that followed behind him stood by the doors and stairs, preventing anyone from barging in on their conversation. Not without a fight, anyway. His eyes flicker to the crown that sat upon her brow, before focusing upon the Oscuri herself.

"Ah, Veronica. It's been some time since we've had a little chat.." Not that many people enjoyed talking to a century old Lich, but many people didn't really have much of a choice.

"Tell me, how are things within the city?"

[06:51:40] Still, so much ado. So much chaos within her mind. To be told all of these different things and to have people coming at her with the intention of overthrowing her-- there was certain paranoia that she felt, but the most that she felt was for the fear that they'd try to divide her away from the people that she loves and Lord Azrael. Though, it was as Hauk2 had told her, though...

They could try to take away her rieka, but the manner by which she loved Azrael would always be in her heart and spread to those that she had given solace in his word.

So thus, standing up straight, she would glance on toward the Lich King carefully, her upper body bowing to show her respect.

"They could be better." It's admitted without much restraint. "I've gained refugees from Loranthis-- spanning from my double agent, Gavin to a newfound ex-general of the Imperfect. There are many brand new up-and-comers in the Bulwark. The city is absolutely abuzz, but politically..." Her fingers rub against her gloved knuckles as she ponders it over.

"I've been given information that could cause a rift between some of the people in this land. The ex-general of the Imperfect tells me that he was sent here with a goal in mind: Aid Celeana and Gorandis in a coup against the crown of New Alteros and destroy the alliance between us and Nostvale." Her throat felt a bit dry.

"Gorandis has been attacking children. Killing Bulwark. Evading penalty for far too long because that sin mage is slippery. But I... I need your advice. Do you think Celeana is capable of... these plans? She had children with him. She let him kill in the city against my mother's wishes. He's not supposed to be within these walls. Mom already stated it before." Her hands gripped harsher as she closed her eyes.

"We're calling for the arrest of Gorandis. He is to be given to Nostvale for Clio to deal with at her leisure, but... I need to know what we do with someone who holds access to something such as the Ear of Azrael."

[07:04:28] Things weren't going as well as it seems.

"Hmmm.." Ryans hands tap lightly against his armor, whilst his eyes remained focused upon Veronica. Her issues were truly concerning, something that couldn't be denied. From the defection of the soldiers of Loranthis, to dealing with a wrath sin, and even issues with the oracle of Azrael.

Not very well at all.

"A coup is a very serious issue, as i'm sure you're aware." The Lich had seen more than one coup during his life, and they never ended well, and he had a hunch that this one wouldn't as well. "In my opinion, it'll be best to snip it in the bud before it becomes an issue.."

"The sin magi should be dealt with as soon as possible. If we let things go as they are, it's only a matter of time until he eventually tries to kill the rest of us. Some sin magi can be functioning members of society, but Gorandis..."

His eyes linger away for a moment.

"Well, he's becoming an issue that can't be left alone. As for Celeana. I doubt she's someone who could come up with something as elaborate as a coup. She's more than likely simply under the control of the sin. Unfortunate, but easily dealt with. She has been a loyal Azraelite since day one, if not a little.. Misguided."

But her transgressions could not be left so easily.

"Strip her of her title until the issue is dealt with. We can see what happens afterwards."

[07:12:09] "It's a distraction from unsealing Lord Azrael. It's absolutely not something that I'm willing to allow to continue happening any further." It was true, though. Nerebia had caused so much slowing down within these times. The Imperfect only threatened to bring them to a grinding, screeching halt. They were so god damned close to getting back on track, and now...

...This?

"I am very aware of how serious the situation is. I honestly did not know if Celeana was particularly..." Smart. "...capable of formulating something such as this with Loranthis. I know that she would've taken the crown from my mother all those years ago, but somehow, she was capable of keeping it." She swallowed a bit harshly, that lump in her throat.

Strip her of the title.

"If she's aiming to remove me, then I need you to strip her of the title you gave her-- but first I need you to take back the Ear of Azrael so that we have it in our hands, safe and sound. The voice of the Lord cannot fall away to the ages again." Her head shakes. History was a bitch.

"The sin mage will die. That's not a question. Clio simply wants to hear his side first-- To laugh? I don't know." A sigh is offered. "But Grandpa Ryan, I'm just trying to do it right. For Lord Azrael. This city has never been this active in my life than right here and now. I'll continue to make these hard decisions. I don't want to ask you to do things for me, but I can't risk losing the ear because someone's throwing a fit... If that makes sense."
