(4:19:53 PM) Charun: Ok you have arrived at work when you enter your lab there is a gentleman waiting for you
(4:24:29 PM) SeianVerian: "Er, hello. Can I help you?" Does he look familiar?
(4:27:46 PM) Charun: yes the gentelman in front of you is very familiar he is the head of your department Johann Schmidt
(4:27:59 PM) Charun: "Oh good you are here seian"
(4:29:10 PM) Charun: "I dont know who it was but we recieved a very large donation to the hospital today and apparently it was because of your work somehow."
(4:29:31 PM) Charun: "Any way just wanted to stop by and give you the boards personal thanks!"
(4:31:16 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see. Well, you're quite welcome, and I'm very glad to be of help."
(4:32:21 PM) Charun: "There will be a more offical thanks in a week or so but look suprised anyway."   "Keep up the work!"  He shakes your hand and leaves
(4:33:14 PM) SeianVerian: "Oh, I probably won't have to fake it, knowing my memory." I chuckle a bit as I shake his hand, and watch him leave.
(4:33:28 PM) SeianVerian: "Now..." What is there to do today?
(4:34:07 PM) Charun: you do have a great number of waiting samples from various doctors to run tests on as well as your own research
(4:34:55 PM) SeianVerian: Right... Work on those in order of urgency, make sure to get as much done as possible.
(4:36:04 PM) Charun: You do have a very busy day but are able to finish all the required testing early enough to get some of your own research work in to run overnight.
(4:37:54 PM) SeianVerian: Right. Once that's all done, head home, I suppose.
(4:38:14 PM) SeianVerian: ...Oh right, did I ever send my findings regarding that witch DNA off to William?
(4:39:23 PM) Charun: no you didnt
(4:40:05 PM) SeianVerian: Was he going to come visit me to get the info, or would it probably be best to call him? If the latter, I'll probably do that once I get home
(4:41:22 PM) Charun: you were supposed to send the data as a text attachment using the new phone he gave you
(4:42:43 PM) SeianVerian: Ah, right. I'll do that then.
(4:43:47 PM) Charun: ok you are able to write the data off to a data card and put it in your phone and send it.  Are you headed home now
(4:44:04 PM) SeianVerian: Yes.
(4:44:40 PM) Charun: you are met at home by Carl "well the patient  is doing well if the 20lbs of meat he ate is any indication"
(4:45:50 PM) SeianVerian: "Haha. Well, that's good."
(4:46:58 PM) Charun: "he is still not willing to shift but considering the damage it will probably be a day or two before we dare open the door."  "He will probably eat another 30-50lbs yet today,  I had 100lbs delivered today and will have more delivered tomorrow."
(4:48:18 PM) SeianVerian: "What, is he aiming for his entire body weight? I know he needs material to metabolize into new flesh, but that's impressive."
(4:50:23 PM) Charun: "It is not unusual for one of us to eat 1/3 to 1/2 our body weight while healing"  "A lot of the energy gets converted to heat... his temp right now is almost 110 using the thermal camera in his room"
(4:51:29 PM) Charun: "One of the main reasons we dont let our pack members go to a normal doctor when they are sick"
(4:52:33 PM) SeianVerian: "Into heat? Well, I certainly hope that proteins in werewolf bodies are more resistant to denaturing through temperature... That's far past what's very dangerous for most humans."
(4:54:32 PM) SeianVerian: "Of course, you have far more expertise in this area than I do, and you don't seem especially worried. I think I'll go take care of the dogs and relax for a little bit so long as there aren't any problems..."
(4:59:02 PM) Charun: "No we are a great deal more resiliant than humans,    It is not unusual for our temps to run 101 to 103 normally during periods of high activity."
(4:59:32 PM) Charun: "I have seen temps in severly wounded especially with silver poisoning reach 115 to 117."
(5:01:54 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see." I've started walking toward the back door to let the dogs out, as they swarm around me. "That's quite impressive indeed."
(5:02:47 PM) Charun: "Yes and one of the main things that makes us easily seperated from humans in testing... well that and quite a few other things our regeneration for one."
(5:04:32 PM) SeianVerian: "Well, at least you probably never have to worry about hypothermia, do you?" I open the door, letting the dogs out. "I wonder how many survivalists and the like are werewolves..."
(5:06:33 PM) Charun: "More than folks would like to know probably"
(5:09:43 PM) SeianVerian: "Hm, I'm sort of wondering... How much do you tend to eat when you aren't wounded? Does your metabolism stay high all the time?" A pause. "...Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I don't tend to ask so many in regards to most things even when they're unfamiliar... There's just something particularly fascinating about creatures once thought legendary. Or, well, still thought legendary."
(5:11:43 PM) Charun: "Yes it is higher than the normal human.  We can easily eat 5000 -8000 calories a day and not gain weight although normal might be closer to 4000"
(5:14:04 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see. Sounds pretty nice. I know I'd like to eat that much, but I splurge too much as it is... Been trying to cut down, but I still don't manage to keep in great shape. ...Or avoid going onto tangents in conversation." I give a sort of bashful chuckle
(5:18:54 PM) Charun: "Oh you might be suprised with us around you may not be given a chance but to get in shape"
(5:20:18 PM) SeianVerian: "Hah. Well, I needed something to keep me motivated. I'm sure things will be interesting."
(5:24:15 PM) Charun: "well yes from what I understand things will get very interesting in the next few days.  With the Marrok coming into town it seems our toothy friend isnt quite so keen on keeping up this war"
(5:26:35 PM) SeianVerian: "Hah, I'll bet he's not. I have a feeling the leader of all the world's werewolves isn't something to trifle with by any means...  Hopefully I'll be able to keep the casualties low, though."
(5:27:22 PM) Charun left the room (quit: Ping timeout).
(5:28:45 PM) Charun: ok im back
(5:30:40 PM) Charun: "We hope so as well.

(5:33:17 PM) SeianVerian: I just nod, not having anything else to add, and glance outside at the dogs. I can see Lyra and Fenris from where I am, though Aaron's probably off to the side. So cute...
(6:53:17 PM) Charun: You notice that there are seveal dishes cooking including two on the stove top and one in the oven.   "I went ahead and made dinner we are having chicken cordon bleu with a basalmic rice and fresh steamed vegetables

(6:56:10 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, quite nice. Thank you." At this point, the dogs start gathering around the door, and I let them in. Aaron just stands outside wagging his tail for a little bit though. "Come on" I beckon and call for him a few times before he comes in. "I really wish I knew why they did that... Oh well."
(6:56:10 PM) SeianVerian: I reach down and pet Aaron, soon followed by Lyra and Fenris vying for attention. "I only have two hands..."
(6:57:07 PM) Charun: Carl places three dishes on the table and completes setting the table for three people.
(6:58:17 PM) SeianVerian: I don't really notice this at first, but then I blink as I realize something. "Three plates? I thought the patient wasn't ready to come out yet... Is Daniel coming, or someone else?"
(6:59:37 PM) Charun: "no the Marrok is returning he has something he wants to talk to you about."
(7:01:04 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah, I see... When's he scheduled to come?"
(7:01:30 PM) Charun: as you finish speaking the dogs bolt for the front door and the door bell rings
(7:01:36 PM) Charun: "Now it appears"
(7:03:59 PM) SeianVerian: "...Well, that's not really a lot of time to rest. Well, it's not like his presence is a strain..." I move to open the door.
(7:08:04 PM) Charun: As you open the door your dogs start growling and throw themselves in front of you and you hear carl yell "get down" as he throws you to the side
(7:09:48 PM) SeianVerian: "Wha-?!" I look up and try to re-orient myself, not really having time to think much about it as I stand. The first thought I have is wondering if it's a vampire, but things are moving too fast to analyze that quick guess
(7:12:30 PM) Charun: you hear two loud booms and your door which is half open suddenly has a series of holes in it and you hear glass breaking behind you in your living room.  Carl steps over you firing a handgun thru the gap in the door and you hear a scream outside

(7:15:24 PM) Charun: Carl proceeds forcing his way out the front door firing several more times and you see him pulling out a phone as he walks forward
(7:17:49 PM) SeianVerian: "I... Gah!" I try to back away from that whole mess. I'm unarmed and not really very good with any of the weapons I could use even if I was armed. "Um..." I try pulling out my phone as well. Carl probably calling the Marrok... Herr Boltsmiter isn't far either, right? More reinforcements can't hurt... ...But do I have his number on the phone?
(7:18:02 PM) SeianVerian: Maybe Adrian would be better... Or release the patient
(7:21:18 PM) Charun: you start calling mr weiss and hear several more of the strangely muffled shots from Carl.  You can also hear him talking but not clearly hear what he is saying
(7:22:48 PM) Charun: your phone is ringing
(7:23:44 PM) SeianVerian: I'll keep backing away, probably babbling slightly incoherently under my breath as I try to figure out what to do. I try to make out what Carl is saying, but listen for Weiss to respond
(7:24:05 PM) Charun: Weiss"Hello"
(7:25:11 PM) SeianVerian: I try to sum up the situation in as few words as possible. "Under attack, my house, gunfire. Help."
(7:25:56 PM) Charun: "retreat to your new basement and close the door.  Only open the cell as a last resort Ill be there soon" he hangs up
(7:26:16 PM) Charun: You dont hear any more shots from outside but you do hear sirens in the distance
(7:27:42 PM) SeianVerian: I hesitate for a moment, glancing toward the door. Carl... No, what help I can give probably isn't needed. If he finished them off, there's nothing. If he can't shoot anymore... I can't do aynthing.
(7:28:04 PM) SeianVerian: I retreat toward the basement
(7:30:45 PM) Charun: you retreat into the new basement and close the door behind you.
(7:31:14 PM) Charun: About 15 minutes later the marrok opens the upper door and summons you out
(7:32:06 PM) SeianVerian: "A-ah, Daniel... I-is Carl okay...?"
(7:33:36 PM) Charun: "He is fine.  Quickly though if you are asked Carl is just a good friend who came over to meet me for dinner if you are asked"  he turns and closes the door to the new basement behind you and conceals it and proceeds upstairs before you.
(7:33:52 PM) Charun: Upstairs is a scene of mass chaos
(7:34:43 PM) Charun: there are 4 police cars and 2 ambulances outside you see them placing a body in a body bag on a gurney and rolling him towards one ambulance while carl sits on a gurney by the other getting  a wound dressed
(7:37:04 PM) SeianVerian: I walk out, surveying the damage. "I... Oh dear lord..." I shudder. I walk toward Carl, unless there's a police officer or someone closer that looks to be about to ask me something
(7:38:04 PM) Charun: You are intercepted by a officer "sir can we please go back inside I have a few questions first then you can speak to your friend:

(7:38:27 PM) SeianVerian: "I... Of course. "
(7:38:56 PM) SeianVerian: I walk back inside, and start to say something, but then wait for the questions.
(7:40:59 PM) Charun: "In your own words what just happened here?"
(7:42:39 PM) SeianVerian: "I... Carl and I were here, waiting for our friend to arrive for dinner. I heard a knock on the door, the dogs started barking, I went to answer. When I opened the door, the dogs suddenly started growling, and Carl knocked me out of the way. He had a gun, so he held them off, and I went to hide since I'd just be a liability in the fight..."

(7:43:09 PM) Charun: "Who fired first"
(7:44:54 PM) SeianVerian: "The assailants, I think... I didn't get a good look. I was disoriented at the start, and I was just trying to get away."
(7:46:53 PM) Charun: "What kind of a sound did you hear first a loud booming sound or a softer popping sound"
(7:47:35 PM) SeianVerian: "It was... Yes, it was definitely the booms."
(7:49:44 PM) Charun: "Sir thanks for your cooperation.  Your friend was lucky and had a concealed weapon and the permit to carry it."    "Any idea why that crackhead was trying to kill you"
(7:49:52 PM) Charun: he shows you a picture of teh perp
(7:50:03 PM) SeianVerian: Does he look familiar at all?
(7:51:02 PM) Charun: no you have never seen him before
(7:52:08 PM) SeianVerian: "I really don't know... I've never seen the man before in my life." Granted, I do have a really vague idea... Werewolf hunter, perhaps.
(7:53:47 PM) SeianVerian: "Actually..." I'm not sure how much to reveal. "I've heard of a few attacks, I think, by some lunatics... If I recall correctly, Carl might have had something to do with them. Er, not participating or supporting, but he might have got their attention... Were they using ordinary bullets?"
(7:54:57 PM) Charun: " Yes Yes they were the officer states." He looks towards the marrok  "Very well was probably a home invasion looking for drugs or money,  he had a rap sheet since he was 12 and it is longer than most older adult offenders."  "we will never know now your friend is very good with that pistol!"
(7:55:00 PM) SeianVerian: ...That was probably really really pointless. "Er, I'm sorry, I only remember stuff offhand, vaguely... It's probably nothing.

(7:55:17 PM) Charun: "thanks for your time" the officer gets up and walks out the front door.
(7:55:34 PM) Charun: Daniel "umm we are not out yet!"
(7:55:48 PM) Charun: "you are lucky he is one of ours"
(7:56:58 PM) SeianVerian: "Er... Yeah, that probably wasn't a good idea. There wasn't really any point to that at all. I wasn't saying anything direct though..."

(7:57:52 PM) Charun: "no problem lets wait for them to finish up outside and then we will continue this conversation"

(8:02:22 PM) Charun: Shortly several other men show up in a van with a cleaning company logo on the side they very quickly use a high pressure washer to clean your front walk and also remove and replace your front door and swap out the hardware.   they also clean up the broken mirror in your living room and go around pulling buck shot out of the walls and patching them
(8:03:02 PM) Charun: they tell you they will get new glass in the mirror and return it tomorrow and will also do teh paint touchups at that time the man  hands you a card and they leave just as carl walks back in
(8:04:14 PM) SeianVerian: I nod as I take the card, and turn to Carl when he walks in. "Ah, Carl... I'm sorry I couldn't be any help."
(8:05:02 PM) Charun: "no problem they only winged me just a through and through"    "Probably a good thing thought they were using silver shot!"
(8:05:34 PM) Charun: he drops a necklace on the table "guess who he works for"   the necklace is a upside down cross
(8:06:39 PM) SeianVerian: "...Fringe group of the church? ...Or not even fringe." I shake my head. "That or vampires with some irony. I don't really know..."
(8:07:05 PM) SeianVerian: "...Catholic church is what I'd be guessing if it was that form."

(8:08:24 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah. So the other guess. I figured that as a possibility too, especially with the war..."
(8:08:37 PM) Charun: "This was a wanna be, he was probably trying to make his mark with this hit and get turned"
(8:09:13 PM) SeianVerian: "...But he came alone and not even near so well-equipped as he'd initially thought."

(8:09:38 PM) Charun: carl  "no there were three of them but the others got away from me"
(8:10:10 PM) Charun: "although one will probably not make it the night unless they turn him"
(8:10:28 PM) SeianVerian: "Ah... Unfortunate that they're still out there."
(8:11:08 PM) SeianVerian: Suddenly, I think of something, and turn to Daniel. "Ah, have you heard from Herr Boltsmiter? I actually called him when combat began, thinking that he might be able to get here first if you were still too far away..."
(8:11:24 PM) Charun: Marrok "They are all over the US in small covens....   these are renengade vamps outside the normal order... this complicates things a great deal."
(8:12:05 PM) Charun: Carl "Yes he called me shortly thereafter and I let him know it was over.  I saw him down at the end of the street but he did not approach"
(8:13:10 PM) SeianVerian: To Carl: "Ah, I see. That's good then." To Daniel: "So this isn't part of the territory war? Do you know why they got involved here?"
(8:14:27 PM) Charun: Marrok  "yes they probably trailed me here the other day and tried to hit one of my friends... the only good news is they usually dont try twice they dont want to take a chance of us finding them."
(8:14:54 PM) Charun: "however carl I think our Dr here needs a new roommate if that is ok with him?"
(8:15:26 PM) SeianVerian: "That's more than okay with me. If Carl hadn't been here, I'd almost certainly be dead now..."
(8:16:37 PM) Charun: "I was thinking of Julius one of my sons he is in Wyoming now but can be here tomorrow.  He is a trained Airforce pararescueman and can be of assistance to you in more ways than protection that way."
