  1. I have read the essay of "Why Literature" by mario vargas lliosa and I will be summarizing the essay in my own thoughts. As everyone know literature has been part of our history for countless years. Currently, Most of the people in the world know how to read and write and yet there's still large amount of people that don't read Literature?. The excitement for reading a Literature isn't enough to attract these people to read. If a person try to read the first few lines of a paragraph and if they think that it's boring then the reader would most likely not continue it. Books are important to human kind, since it helps us develop our characteristics and develops our own perspectives. Literature had been significant on our past since it had changed and guided our history throughout its course. Significant people in the past, such as the heroes that one country revere would most likely be someone that had read a book before and would most likely would've been affected by it's reading. For lot of people who does Literature, they all understand each other with their works even though they don't live on the same time. Literature is powerful in a lot of ways and more significant than our ever growing technology. Writings does not need to evolve for it to be significant on our daily life unlike technology and science that they have to adapt every year for it to be significant enough. Without literature, we the human kind would most likely be barbaric, ignorant and uncivilized. It is the books that we the people read that brought science and technology to what it is right now, that's why literature will be forever important.
