  1. When it Rains...
  2.
  3. Warning, the story contains inflation, paw inflation, mimiga, weirdness, and popping!
  4.
  5. A few bedsheets rustle before a fuzzy head poked out with exhausted eyes. She stretches her arms out, and gave a wide yaaaawn before flumping forward on her bed, rubbing her eyes as she tries to wake up, she didn't have much on under the covers, only a simple blue sweater with a few stripes around the collar. She looks outside a nearby window from her bed, seeing the village's quiet nightscape, if you can call it night in a cavern.
  6.
  7. Sighing softly, she scoots over to the edge of the bed and stretches her legs, which weren't much, only really being her hindquarters before ending in long, lapine paws. She sets them down on the grassy floor before giving a small huff as she heaves herself up, trying to stretch the last bit of tiredness from her as she explores her darkened room.
  8.
  9. Sue Sakamoto used to be a human with her family of researchers on the island a few years ago, although a witch named Misery turned her and a friend named Itoh into mimiga, which to no avail, were able to be turned back into human, or at least permanently. She didn't mind anymore, and has grown to the new life of being in Mimiga Village, which was starting to grow back its numbers after the horrible incident.
  10.
  11. Sue looks around her room, opening a cupboard to find something to eat, although only a few petals scattered the shelves. "I guess that's one drawback, you only eat flowers and fish..." she sighed to herself, but looked back up, closing the cupboard and going towards the door to get some food. She checks herself to make sure she had everything she needed, which was really only her sweater and pendant that Toroko gave her. She opens the door and started to walk into the still village.
  12.
  13. No one was out, which was no surprise since Sue usually was the first one up so she can roam around the island and do what she wants generally. She carefully decended vines and ladders until she reached the main clearing of the village, which had the Assembly Hall, Cemetary, Food Hall, and Garden. She decides to head towards Yamatoashi garden for some food for the week, crawling up a small tunnel to get to the garden area. Sprinklers spray water all around the area, soaking the plant life with it, which was evident in the rampant growth of flowers, vines, buds, and more. She goes over to a small shack and picks up a small woven basket and heads over to a few piles of vegetation, soft crunches and snaps could be heard as she carefully pulls a few large blossoms out.
  14.
  15. A small shuffle interrupted Sue's picking, making her set what she got down as she looks around the area. Nothing seemed to be obviously out of place, at least until she turned around and let out a squeak in surprise as she was pushed over, causing the flower basket to fall over too. She gets up and brushes herself off, looking sternly to the fleeing figure, "Hey watch it!" she yells out to it, although it didn't take notice of what she said. She got more upset, getting up and putting a fisted paw in front of her, "Come back here you! I'm not letting you get away!" before she breaks into a sprint for the hidden figure.
  16.
  17. The figure deftly jumps over rocks while Sue scrambled up them in attempt to chase the assailant as it dashes away into a tunnel that led away from the village, passing stalagmites, critters and bats as she slowly caught up with them. The figure was just at paw's reach as she tries to grab them before they make a sharp turn into an unknown part of the cavern, taking the mimiga by surprise as she falls down and loses her momentum. She curses and spits at the figure as it vanishes,  pulling herself up and dusting herself off.
  18.
  19. She looks around the cavern, which was quite open, almost like the village as pools of water gently fell onto the ground like mini-waterfalls. Sue sighs, not being able to find out where the figure was by now, and decides to go exploring in the cave, and hopefully find the perpetrator and teach them a lesson. Water was pretty much everywhere on her level, with a few rocky islands dotting the streams and ponds of water that fed into a lower level. With a small 'sploosh' she takes her first step into the water, beginning her search for the figure.
  20.
  21. As Sue was walking, she could feel a small tingle go through her paws as they trudged on the crystal water, but payed it no mind since she was used to walking bare-paw by now. Unfortunately for her, the cavern's water had mystic properties, and makes whatever is in them act like a sponge. As she trudged through the shallow water, her paws started to soak up water, slowly filling up to look a little more rounded and plump. This didn't get noticed by Sue, who's reflection of her paws distorted with each step, and only thought of the feeling as just her paws getting wet.
  22.
  23. Continuing her search for her assailant, not wanting to let them go that easily, she continues to splash into water, filling up her paws like water balloons, now able to be easily seen if she was out of water. Sue lets out a squeak in surprise as she suddenly felt the ground underneath her swollen paws give away, finding a rather deep dip in the water and ending up plunging the mimiga to her neck in water. She huffs a little as she swam to the ends of the pool, dragging herself into more shallow water, grunting a little as she felt like she was heaving more then just a waterlogged sweater. With a soft splatter, some water drips off her sweater while she heaves herself to her paws, blinking in surprise as she felt herself squish a little as she stood up.
  24.
  25. She looked down, and almost fell back into the pool in surprise at what she saw: her sweater looks a little more full, even white fur beginning to peek out from under her sweater. She gives it a small poke, feeling her finger sink into her now dry tummy fluff. She tries to think of what's going on, squeezing and pushing on her tummy, hoping that was just a dream. She didn't even pay attention to how large her feetpaws have become, her toes as big as grapefruits while her paws equally as swollen! She sighs a little, hoping it wasn't permanent, and making a mental note to beat whoever led her here even more, and attempts to avoid the water by walking delicately on ridges on the edges of the pools.
  26.
  27. A small splash startled Sue, almost making her lose balance as she looked around quickly. Her eyes narrowed as she quickly recognized the source of the sound, "You!" she squeaks out, losing caution now as she quickly runs through he pool towards the figure. The shadow stood still a little as it heard the voice, before quickly darting away from a diving mimiga, who noisily splashed next to them. She wriggles in the water, trying to right herself as the water already started to flow into the poor mimiga, making her tummy start to grow larger and fuller under her sweater. She rights herself eventually, not losing sight of the figure, before dashing back to him, abet more wobbly and clumsily thanks to the sloshing water weight inside of her.
  28.
  29. She tries to ignore the growing feeling in her feetpaws as they steadily swell out with each splash, making it harder and harder to keep her pace with the figure as it slowly got further away. It was now or never for her, as he heaved herself forward and then jumped in another leap to the shadow. What happened next surprised her as the figure suddenly stops, and then catches Sue, holding her from behind so she could not see its face. She wriggles in protest, "Hey! Let me down so I can beat you up!" the mimiga protests to the figure, who only walked a little bit forward to a darker region of the large pool, and simply drops Sue with a loud 'SPOOSH' into the water. She flails her arms as she first tries to swim up, not feeling her swollen feetpaws on anythijg underneath and the shallow regions out of arm's length. The figure quickly turns around and runs off, leaving the mimiga to the pool of mystic water.
  30.
  31. Her eyes burned shortly with anger as she cursed at the figure again to come back, only for them to be replaced with worry and fear now as she only bobbed on the water, unable to make any progress toward the edges of the pool. Water began to flow freely into the trapped mimiga, making her body start to swell up like a water balloon! Her sweater starts to grow more tight around her tummy as her sides and back swell out, filling up the fabric as it stretches around her fluff. She could see a sliver of white under her blue soaked sweater as it grows thicker, pushing up her sweater a little while her arms were pushed to her sides.
  32.
  33. She tries to ball a fist as her arms and handpaws absorb water, although each passing moment made it more difficult for her to do so. Her thighs and even her tail drank the water from the pool and grew larger! Soft 'crrrrrrrrrk's could be heard from the water as the stitches on the sides of her sweater pulled tightly across her tummy, until the delicate seams were starting to be pulled apart, forcing soft white fluff to be exposed from her side between them. They get pulled tighter, and tighter, and tighter until with a muffled 'plnk'! one seam burst off, followed by another, and another, creating a chain of pops as the mimiga's growing globe of a tummy pushes out the fabric, ripping her sweater wide open on the side.
  34.
  35. She whines a little bit, still trying to call out for help this time, not even caring about the figure, at least for the moment as she tries to propel herself by kicking her feetpaws, which by now have easily became almost like spheres now, her toes the size of basketballs, although she didn't want to think too much about it. Sue just wanted to get home and sleep this nightmare away. Unfortunately, it was all too real for her, and with her still helplessly bobbing in the water despite doing her best efforts, she may just be stuck in the pool, which brings up the question: how much water can she hold?
  36.
  37. By now her tummy was easily as big as a beachball, which compared to her small frame, looked rather large. Her head was pushed up by her growing chest, which made a rounded shape with her tummy, her paws practically just as swollen as her while her sweater hung loosely around her neck and other side of her massive body. Another groan could be heard, although this time, it was coming from her own body now. She opened her eyes in confusion as she tries to look down, but only got herself a face of blue and white, which didn't sink too far. Sue looks around, slowly growing more nervous as she began to lose ability to do anything with her swelling body as it greedily gulps water down. She flails her bloated paws and arms, trying to get one last attempt to push herself to shallow water, although it's attempt ended as all the others.
  38.
  39. She panted a little, worn out from all the escape attempts as she just bobs on the water, slowly growing larger as she was not easily recognizable as a mimiga anymore, the pool visably smaller as her body soaked and displaced a lot of it. She closes her eyes as the pressure started to grow inside of her, making her tummy creeeaaaaak under the water, but Sue had no way to stop it as she tries again, but couldn't even move her fingers or toes. She squeaks out for help as pressure grows higher and higher, her colossal tummy giving out one last grooooooooaaaaaaan,  before with one last 'sploosh' the mimiga balloon busts in the water, quickly filling and overflowing the water as it waterfalls to the lower level below.
