HAROLD: I've heard the rumors about you. What is a wanted man doing in Leon's service?

ZERO: Why does it matter? It's not something that merits the attention of the hero of the Nohrian peasantry, and I don't want to hear one of your spiels about justice. Guys like you are the type I hate the most. You can take your personal brand of justice and stuff it.

HAROLD: It sounds to me like you're trying to agitate anyone who asks. Is that a habit among wanted men?

ZERO: This is enough to get you agitated? You're cuter than you look. How about I ram something even better into you? Right into your cute little ears...

HAROLD: They were right about you. You really are unpleasant.

HAROLD: You see, people have been complaining about the way you talk. I came over to check it out, and here I discover that you really are as depressing as they say.

ZERO: So what of it? Your justice doesn't concern the way people talk, does it? Get off my case.

HAROLD: Zero, my man, there's something I wanna ask you.

ZERO: Ugh, what?

HAROLD: Word is, there's a gang of thieves planning a large-scale robbery tonight. That band had been in decline for a while, but lately they've been growing in force. Let me give this to you straight: I'm thinking you're involved in their recent deeds.

ZERO: Nope, I've got nothing to do with them.

HAROLD: Should I trust you? This is the same band of thieves you were once a part of.

ZERO: So what? Are you gonna doubt me thanks to my past?

HAROLD: I don't mean to, but...

ZERO: If you don't trust me, then could go bust into that mansion for reals.

HAROLD: In that case, I'd have to deliver judgment unto you. I've received a request to stop these robbers.

ZERO: Hmph. Whatever, just try not to make it too easy for them.

HAROLD: ... That's suspicious.

ZERO: What is?

HAROLD: People who try to unnerve others like you often have something to hide. They keep their distance from others so nobody can discover their secrets.

ZERO: You think that nonsense passes for actual theory?

HAROLD: A theory that I just came up on the spot, albeit.

ZERO: Right, I thought so.

HAROLD: I don't care what sort of life you lead, but if there's something you're hiding, speak now.

ZERO: Persistent, aren't you? I'm outta here.

HAROLD: Zero...

HAROLD: Zero, you surprised me last night.

ZERO: Hm?

HAROLD: I experienced my usual bad luck, but even still I managed to drive the robbers into a corner. Then, right before I could end it all, you appeared. I thought, "I knew he was the one," but then you turned your back to me and started talking down to them... Truly, an unexpected development.

ZERO: I told you I wasn't involved with them.

HAROLD: Not even in the lowest ghettoes of Nohr is there anyone who doesn't know of the infamous Zero. Perhaps I was too caught up in your past?

ZERO: ... I don't know what my parents look like. My father ran away before I wasn born, and by my very first memories, my mom had vanished into thin air too. That gang of thieves was the only home I ever had. But, one day, we snuck into the Nohrian palace. We grabbed what we were after, but the guards found us. Then, my fellow thieves ditched me and used me as a decoy to escape.

HAROLD: How ruthless...

ZERO: And that was when master Leon appeared before me. His strength was beyond that of normal men. I could tell at a glance how it would go if I fought him, so I told him to kill me. Being abandoned by my own gang, I had nothing left anyway. But, my attitude seemed to catch his interest, and from then on, Master Leon posted me at his side. I died when my gang betrayed me, and then Leon saved me and I was reborn.

HAROLD: I never imagined you had such a past... Thank you for telling me. I see you had nothing to hide today.

ZERO: What's that supposed to mean?

HAROLD: You didn't use your usual, unpleasant manner of speech one bit. That's proof that you weren't hiding anything.

ZERO: ... The hell are you saying? Is that another one of your stupid spur-of-the-moment theories?

HAROLD: So what? Just because it's spur-of-the-moment doesn't mean it's wrong. I felt moved knowing that even you can speak properly. Alright, now let's go tell everyone what we just discussed. If we do that, everyone will also understand that even you can talk like a proper person in the right situation.

ZERO: No way. Now get outta here unless you want me to plunge a thick arrow-shaft into you.

HAROLD: ... Woah there. I see you do have one thing you're hiding. But, that's cute so I'll let it slide.

ZERO: Cute?

HAROLD: What you're trying to hide is your own embarrassment. Feeling embarrassed at hearing my praise, you switched back to your unpleasant way of speaking. But, it's no use hiding from me. I can see right through you.

ZERO: Why you...

HAROLD: Let's get along from now on. If there's anything you need to talk about, don't hesitate to ask me. As someone who understands your inner workings, I'll listen as long as you need me to.
