  1. OKAY POISE BREAKPOINTS INCOMING:
  2.
  3. To resist a single R1 of a 2H greatsword during hyperarmour, you need at least 0.01 more than the following:
  4.
  5. Greathammers: 22.8571/38.2857
  6.
  7. UGS&GA 31.4286/45.1429
  8.
  9. Greatsword: 40/52
  10.
  11.
  12. The first number is the breakpoint at full poise effectiveness (eg. after a refresh or the start of a fight) and the second is the breakpoint at minimum poise effectiveness. If you reach the second breakpoint, you can no longer be staggered by a single R1 from a standard greatsword, ever. Any weapon with stomp, warcry, galvanize or perseverance can refresh their poise to full effectiveness at will by using their WA.
  13.
  14. I fucked up my math last night so please go out and test these numbers and make sure I haven't made another mistake.
  15.
  16. Just tested some of these numbers using a zweihander against the drakeblood knight in ADP
  17.
  18. With refreshed poise, 31.40 was enough to HA through a single 2HR1 of the drakeblood GS
  19.
  20. It seems like the game rounds numbers oddly so all of these decimal values will need to be tested to find the actual accurate breakpoint. For now I can say with certainty that the breakpoint for resisting a single GS2HR1 with a UGS is 31.40 or below.
  21.
  22. I'm going to play around and see if I can find a cutoff
  23.
  24. Okay, so 31.33 is definitely below the cutoff.
  25. Testing vs the drakeblood knight, he could interrupt my HA with his 2HR1s at refreshed poise at this value.
  26.
  27. In other words, the breakpoint for UGS resisting 2H greatsword R1s is somewhere between 31.33 and 31.4
  28.
  29. Unfortunately, I can't really find any armour combination that brings me close enough to test for more precise numbers.
  30.
  31. Update:
  32. 45.06 is enough poise to resist drakeblood 2HR1s at minimum poisehealth
  33.
  34. Once again, weird rounding by the game, but okay. I guess the breakpoint is probably 45 on the nose.
  35.
  36. 45 poise is ridiculously high, by the way. I couldn't get over it without 3 pieces of havels and one piece of other heavy armour. This is over 30vit and havelfap+2 levels of carry weight.
  37.
  38. So to conclude this
  39. Method: attempting to HA through the ADP drakeblood knight's 2HR1 attacks with a zweihander. Max poisehealth values were tested with bonfire refreshes and stomp refreshes and were consistent between them. Min poisehealth values were tested by starting with max poisehealth and HA-trading with the 2HR1 once to reduce poise value to minimum, then HA trading again.
  40.
  41. Max poisehealth breakpoint: Greater than 31.33 but less than 31.4. Aim for 31.4 as that's the lowest confirmed effective value.
  42. Min posehealth breakpoint. 45.06(likely just 45)
  43.
  44. Note: These values are only tested for the drakeblood GS and is consistent with the approximate results expected for standard greatsword 2HR1 poisedamage. Some greatswords may have higher poisedamage which would render these numbers inaccurate.
  45.
  46. Also, these numbers are effective for 1HR1s, 1HR2s, 1H running, rolling and jumping attacks as well. All 1H attacks seem to inflict less poise damage than 2HR1s. However, these numbers are NOT effective for 2HR2s or weapon arts, and these will still 1st-hit break your HA. 45 poise with max poisehealth is still not enough to resist a 2HR2 or WA.
  47.
  48. These numbers should be accurate for the rest of the UGS class, and for greataxes but they haven't been tested here. I'll be testing greathammers next.
  49.
  50. Another update:
  51. I've finished testing greathammers, using the Great Club against the drakeblood knight and here are the results
  52.
  53. Max poisehealth breakpoint: Greater than 22.20 but equal or less than 22.27. Aim for 22.27 as that's the lowest value I could confirm
  54. min poisehealth breakpoint: 37.78 (note: 37.76 is too low, but I couldn't find a combination to test 37.77, so that could also be effective).
  55.
  56. Also note that at 37.78 poise, you can resist an uncharged 2HR2 or a WAR1 at max poisehealth. This wasn't true for UGS or greataxes.
  57.
  58. So to reiterate, the following are the poise breakpoints for resisting the 2HR1 of a greatsword with any ultra:
  59.
  60. UGS&GA: 31.4 OR 45.06
  61.
  62. GH: 22.27 OR 37.78
  63.
  64. Have fun.
