  1. Name: Lionel Kylander
  2. Age: 29
  3. Sex: Male
  4. Looks: About 6'1 in height, 170 lbs, Longish black hair tied in a ponytail, fairly buff build, amber eyes, wears a white tunic looking garb under his blue cloak which trails off like a cape, clean shaven, always seems to have a taciturn look. Has the Wyke emblem on his silver gauntlets, and the Kylander crest on the back of his cloak.
  5.
  6. Nationality: Wykian
  7.
  8. Backstory: Lionel was born in the year 789, In the Kylander controlled territory south of the capital of Wyke, more towards Magonsaete, the untamed region. Lionel is the second born of the current Baroness Helda Kylander, his elder sister Selma, is more on the front lines against the bandit attacks, and has successfully fended them off from their naval assaults for the most part.
  9.
  10. Lionel grew up applying himself to the arts and of course learning the sacred traditions of the Kylander clan including that of their oath to the Gaffney family which began in 553, with the Deira and Raewald conflict of Northern territories, the current Baron of the Kylander clan was caught in the crossfire, and imprisoned, it was then the Wyke kingdom, still young at the time and urging for cooperation with the 2 states decided to ask for the Kylanders to be pardoned and become a noble house of Wyke, the Kylanders are a proud and traditional people when it comes to debts they owe, so they swore to serve Wyke from then on.
  11.
  12. Lionel grew up in a time of relative peace, but he studied books and that of weapons from a young age, training both mind and body in the Kylander controlled region of Wyke known as Espo, farming and fishing were common trades, Magonsaete was a bit of a thorn in their side however, the Kylanders had become well versed in naval combat over the generations since they had migrated to Wyke, Lionel was no different. He was always curious about strategy, tactics, and logistics. Naval warfare was just one of the areas he had studied, but also applied in one particular small raid in 807, still young and raring to go he fought against a Magonsaete captain and narrowly defeated him in single combat after being ambushed, after accessing the situation, he'd keep patrols out to ward off others who may try to sneak on the mainland. From then on he kept more wary, knowing that he could have just as easily lost his life.
  13.
  14. Sometime in this span, he met the up and coming prince of Gaffney, named Owen when he was fairly young, after the raid of 807, Helda had recommended that Lionel become one of the kings up and coming advisers and he was accepted, arriving in Hull, the young Kylander wasn't used to city life, but the Gaffney's treated him very well, and Owen looked up the Lionel as an instructor of sorts, even later becoming his personal adviser in the courts and in other matters.
  15.
  16. Lionel is a more quiet person, although he will talk in social gatherings and in meetings he ends up discussing a fair bit, but he likes time to himself or discussing the future of the Gaffney's with Owen, who is like that of a younger brother to him, being raised by only a mother and elder sister, Lionel supports Owen to near a fault although he will always raise objections if Owen decides on something questionable, but usually Lionel understands the noble children much more then their father does, he thinks maybe being a more country oriented person did that.
  17.
  18. In his mind, Owen would be a good king, but needs a fair bit more growth and confidence before taking on the full responsibilities.
  19.
  20. Then there was the free spirited Cassandra, who Lionel often loved making sarcastic quips at, she was quite a bit of work, but at face value you couldn't tell that in the castle she was a perfect little princess, however Lionel could tell she wanted out every now and again. Owen would talk to the guards and let her go to town, Lionel was fine with this, she should learn the life of her people, that she would eventually represent, he'd even helped a little with her axe training, despite the fact that, using a lance to instruct someone how to better use an axe isn't too effective, he taught her the means to cripple a lance wielder, and that the axe is not just a weapon, but a tool. He had some knowledge of its more basic uses like gathering firewood, but not so much combat.
  21.
  22. The two nobles were more then just his Lord and Lady in his mind, they were family to him.
