  1. Story so far if anyone wants to add the next few sentences:... She stood up against the wall, holding her messenger bag close to her chest. It was almost time. She was anxious, very anxious, but she had to do this. No one else would...A steady stream of strangers hurried past her -each too caught up in their own worries to care about one middle-aged woman pressed against the side of a building. No one noticed the deep breaths she took as she tried to collect herself, the suspicious bulge in the bag she was nursing, the words she was softly whispering to herself over and over again..."Shhh... Shhhhh...." she muttered to the thing bulging in her bag, which was now quivering slightly. The thing inside stared up at her warily with piercing yellow eyes. She felt the adrenaline coursing through her now, and she hugged the bag closer to herself as she rounded the corner....The obscure animal peeks it head out of the womans purse, staring up at her as if to ask for mercy...She laughed, stroking it's head a bit and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll feed you in a bit. Now hide before They see you."...She froze as a passing stranger slowed their pace and turned their head at the spectacle. Her racing heart seemed to stop beating for a moment until the passerby returned their attention to the phone in their hand and kept walking. It was time to go inside before she attracted any more attention...
  2. She scurries inside quickly, avoiding the hypocritical gaze of fancy business men in suits, to relieve her anxiety in the safety of a cramped elevator...Still clutching the occupied messenger bag close to her body, she manages to press the button for the 12th floor on the elevator panel. As the elevator begins to move, the thing inside her bag stirs in response. She's grunting from the shear effort it takes to restrain the creature in her bag; she doesn't dare give it a chance to escape...The creature inside the bag chirps again. The woman looks down at it fondly, brushing her pale blonde hair out of her face. "Stay in your bag!" she mutters to the creature with a stifled giggle. The tell-tale sign of the elevator rising then grinding to a sudden halt makes the small creature jump in surprise. The old woman almost fails to restrain it. Almost. She casually steps off the elevator...The nervous giggle quickly died in her throat as she came face to face with a tall dark man standing behind a recpetionists desk. "Ahh, Marcia Collins. To what do we owe the please?"...She pushed up her glasses, making sure the dear friend in her bag wasn't too obvious. "Just decided to check up on my favorite receptionist for my favorite company- that being my company of course."
  3.
  4. "Right.." the receptionist responded. He did not quite know what to say in response, which was understandable. She had said that on a whim, merely saying anything to get past him. She had a more important place to be, but had to restrain her rush to avoid suspicion. "Well, is there any particular reason you have come here today, Mrs. Marcia?" he asked looking down at his monitor.
  5.
  6. Marcia hugged the squirming bag closer to her chest, hoping the receptionist would write-off her nervousness as one of her usual eccentricities.
  7.
  8. "D-Do I need a reason to come and see my daughter-in-law?" she said with a nervous giggle as the animal pawed at her arms through the bag's canvas walls.
  9.
  10. As the receptionist continued to study her quizzically, Marcia decided that delaying here would only make the next conversation harder and quickly shuffled down the the hallway towards Lily's office - barely getting the door shut behind her before the creature leapt from the bag and landed in full sight on the desk.
  11.
  12. The creature chirped happily as it hovered slightly above the desk. It lacked arms or legs, and appeared to be oddly... cloud-shaped. It was a deep shade of purple, fading to blue akin to the color of the sky towards the top of its body. It's face was relatively simple, with a small mouth and large, sparkling yellow eyes. The woman sitting at the desk, Lily, smiled as it chirped and danced around. Marcia returned the smile, and both of them broke into lighthearted giggles.
  13.
  14. "I didn't expect to see you today, Mimikins." Lily said warmly, "Nor you, Mrs Collins."
  15.
  16. "Please, call me Marcia. Mrs Collins is your grandmother" said Marcia as she lowered herself into a leather chair by the door with a grimace.
  17.
  18. "Oh, I'm sorry." said Lily, blushing, "Are you alright Mrs- Marcia?"
  19.
  20. "No. Not entirely." Marcia said, suddenly feeling her age as she stuffed a slightly torn cushion behind her lower back. I need you to take Lily for a while...
