  1. T'See Ka started to step out of line, then drew up short when he realized Ca'toll stood in his way.
  2.
  3. "Yes," she said. Her words were calm, flat, and cold.
  4.
  5. "You do need to be here. And you will stay."
  6.
  7. The newly blooded Yautja youth looked down at her with disdain.
  8.
  9. "Step aside, Ca'toll. I am your equal now."
  10.
  11. Ca'toll hit T'See'Ka on the side of his face so hard he flew off his feet and landed four meters down the corridor. Before he could rise, she was standing next to him. She slammed a heavy, booted foot down on his chest shield and pinned him to the floor. He began to push himself up, but suddenly her wristblades-notched with curved hooks and twice as long as those allotted the younger Yautja-were pushing against his throat. Then she laughed at him.
  12.
  13. "When you are as fast as me, when you are wise enough to train the young, and when you have made as many kills as me and not the dishonorable one you stole from Stea'Pua-then you might be my equal. Right now you are nothing more than a shameful, deceitful braggart."
  14.
  15. She leaned over him, pushing the deadly blade tips into his flesh until it broke and green blood trickled out.
  16.
  17. "You are a lucky child, T'See'Ka, to have had T'U'Sa as your hunt leader. Had you been one of mine, I would have cut you loose and told your family the truth about your actions." She retracted her blades and stepped off him, then shoved him sideways with one foot.
  18.
  19. "Or maybe I would have simply killed you."-pg.158-159 chpt.24
