- (9:26:08 PM) storeclock: yo
- (9:26:12 PM) fourfiction: hiya
- (9:26:40 PM) fourfiction: so, you have subconsious parroting problems and doubts because of skeptism?
- (9:27:22 PM) storeclock: basically my forcing is a balance between fear of parroting and a desire for some sign of progress
- (9:28:11 PM) fourfiction: progress shouldnt be a fixation, first of all. the /process/ of creating a tulpa is more important than the outcome. Sometimes the process is more rewarding than the tulpa itself, too. At least at first lol
- (9:28:38 PM) fourfiction: honesty: take your time and dont expect a ton of progress and stuff to happen right away.
- (9:28:39 PM) storeclock: yeah narrating is kinda fun on its own
- (9:28:59 PM) storeclock: its a different way of thinking, makes you slow down
- (9:29:05 PM) fourfiction: some members see the process of creating a tulpa, even in the stages of pre-sentience, as
- spiritually rewarding kinda
- (9:29:08 PM) fourfiction: yeah exactly
- (9:29:54 PM) storeclock: ok heres an example
- (9:29:58 PM) fourfiction: go for it
- (9:30:05 PM) storeclock: i literally just read what you wrote
- (9:30:07 PM) storeclock: to her
- (9:30:12 PM) storeclock: and she giggled
- (9:30:13 PM) fourfiction: cool.
- (9:30:16 PM) storeclock: now idk if it was her
- (9:30:21 PM) fourfiction: did you expect her to giggle?
- (9:30:31 PM) storeclock: or just me thinking "oh this is what shed do if she were sentient"
- (9:31:57 PM) fourfiction: if you expected her to giggle, then theres a 70-80% chance it was you
- (9:32:30 PM) storeclock: ok
- (9:32:38 PM) fourfiction: the other 20-30% could be her thoughts being jumbled with yours, which tulpas do really early on before they learn to think for themselves
- (9:32:46 PM) storeclock: yeah
- (9:32:54 PM) fourfiction: Let me start with this: theres two main theories on the psychological side of the forum (as apposed to the many metaphysical theories on that side) as to how a tulpa works. In the end, I believe the theory becomes law when you believe in it since its all in your head anyway.
- (9:33:52 PM) fourfiction: The first theory, and also the kind of depressing one: tulpas are a subconsiously-run imaginary friend that is built on subconsious parroting. They are only around when you think of them and are essentially a fake being you fool yourself with.
- (9:34:34 PM) storeclock: I didnt read that
- (9:34:43 PM) fourfiction: The second theory: Tulpas are a whole separate mental consiousness within your own mind. They have their own mental processes that run /alongside/ yours and they think on their own almost like they have their own physical brain.
- (9:34:43 PM) storeclock: i closed chat and then re-opened it
- (9:34:49 PM) fourfiction: ok ill copypaste
- (9:34:53 PM) storeclock: No
- (9:34:55 PM) storeclock: No dont
- (9:34:55 PM) storeclock: No
- (9:34:57 PM) fourfiction: ok fine
- (9:34:58 PM) fourfiction: lol
- (9:35:00 PM) storeclock: I intentionally didnt
- (9:35:06 PM) fourfiction: ah
- (9:35:15 PM) fourfiction: because "and also the kind of depressing one" ?
- (9:35:19 PM) storeclock: cause its all in your head ya know
- (9:35:20 PM) storeclock: Yes
- (9:35:22 PM) fourfiction: ok
- (9:35:36 PM) fourfiction: the second theory is my favorite and the one i believe you read that one right?
- (9:35:42 PM) storeclock: yes
- (9:35:47 PM) fourfiction: ok goo.
- (9:35:49 PM) storeclock: Thats what ive assumed this whole time
- (9:35:50 PM) fourfiction: *good
- (9:35:58 PM) fourfiction: awesome!
- (9:36:14 PM) storeclock: it's possible, i mean split personality exists right
- (9:36:15 PM) fourfiction: so, now that I know where you are kinda, what are you having trouble with
- (9:36:23 PM) fourfiction: yeah I believe it exists.
- (9:36:39 PM) storeclock: well ive been narrating whenever i remember to
- (9:36:42 PM) fourfiction: I dont believe theres a way to /prove/ it with measurements and physical evidence, but eh
- (9:36:50 PM) storeclock: for about a week now
- (9:36:52 PM) fourfiction: ok
- (9:36:56 PM) fourfiction: narrating is always good
- (9:37:11 PM) storeclock: just idk what to do when i force i guess
- (9:38:09 PM) fourfiction: well for my tulpa that is about 3 hours old, I just put her body in a chair and connect her brain to a computer like the Matrix. from this computer I type up models of personality traits.
- (9:38:09 PM) fourfiction: The interesting visualization is mostly to kill boredom, but it is also symbolic.
- (9:38:24 PM) storeclock: Ok heres the thing
- (9:38:31 PM) fourfiction: yeah?
- (9:38:35 PM) storeclock: I have not defined personality traits because
- (9:38:45 PM) fourfiction: you want her to make her own from experiemce?
- (9:39:01 PM) storeclock: having a pre-determined personality makes it easier to assume what they do
- (9:39:08 PM) fourfiction: Good observation
- (9:39:13 PM) storeclock: thus making it harder to know when they act independently
- (9:39:24 PM) storeclock: thats why i picked irish's guide
- (9:39:33 PM) fourfiction: exactly. Right there you're sounding smarter than half the people in the #tulpa.info chatroom lol
- (9:39:41 PM) storeclock: neato
- (9:39:54 PM) fourfiction: then, if I remember correctly, irish's guide is all narration and wonderland right?
- (9:40:00 PM) storeclock: yep
- (9:40:08 PM) fourfiction: how long have you been narrating?
- (9:40:14 PM) storeclock: A week
- (9:40:18 PM) fourfiction: ok good.
- (9:40:26 PM) fourfiction: is her form visualized really good?
- (9:40:38 PM) storeclock: well i sorta
- (9:40:54 PM) storeclock: Skipped the part where you visualise a cloud for your tulpa
- (9:40:54 PM) fourfiction: ?
- (9:40:57 PM) fourfiction: ah
- (9:41:03 PM) fourfiction: you went straight to a body or such?
- (9:41:06 PM) storeclock: yes
- (9:41:18 PM) storeclock: cause you cant do the feather test on a cloud
- (9:41:20 PM) fourfiction: thats fine, how good are you at visualizing it completely?
- (9:41:24 PM) fourfiction: ikr lol
- (9:41:39 PM) storeclock: havent tried much
- (9:41:55 PM) storeclock: i should note that i havent forced recently
- (9:41:56 PM) fourfiction: hmm, well you could narrate and then work on form as far as having something to do
- (9:42:06 PM) storeclock: Just narrated
- (9:42:29 PM) fourfiction: well, narrate more lol you can never pay your tulpa too little attention in the beginning stages
- (9:42:43 PM) storeclock: okay
- (9:43:34 PM) fourfiction: it took me about a month of visualization work, narration, and personality trait forcing to have Miku act on her own for the first time without any puppeting.
- (9:44:00 PM) storeclock: okey
- (9:44:15 PM) fourfiction: I skipped 2 weeks because life and complicated stuff, and when I returned back the wonderland where I left her she ran up to me and hugged me like she missed me more than anything.
- (9:44:27 PM) storeclock: :o
- (9:44:45 PM) fourfiction: She had made her own form and everything. I had no pre-cognition on her desired form and such it
- just happened and surprised me.
- (9:44:59 PM) storeclock: yeah im just waiting for that moment everyone has described
- (9:45:08 PM) storeclock: where theres a thought thats just alien
- (9:45:14 PM) fourfiction: that never happened with me
- (9:45:26 PM) fourfiction: some people dont get it >.> or it doesnt feel completely "alien:
- (9:45:54 PM) storeclock: like shit happens and theres no doubt in your mind that it wasnt you
- (9:45:57 PM) fourfiction: nobody is the same, so results will differ of course.
- (9:46:19 PM) fourfiction: hmm, only a couple old members I know actually had a completely distinct alien occurance
- (9:46:27 PM) fourfiction: whether it be movement or voice or a thought
- (9:46:37 PM) storeclock: okay
- (9:47:30 PM) storeclock: but you know what really kept me going
- (9:47:32 PM) fourfiction: My best advice, that everyone on #tulpa.info would kill me for saying, is just to keep forcing
- every day as much as possible and NOT expect anything. Don't "not want" anything to happen, but dont preoccupy yourself with
- things like "oh when she moves it'll be like this and stuff"
- (9:47:46 PM) fourfiction: what?
- (9:48:04 PM) storeclock: its the only objective proof ive had that something different is going on
- (9:48:07 PM) storeclock: head pressure
- (9:48:16 PM) storeclock: i never had head pressure in my life
- (9:48:16 PM) fourfiction: yeah I got that a couple times with Miku
- (9:48:28 PM) storeclock: then the first time i start forcing
- (9:48:30 PM) storeclock: bam
- (9:48:45 PM) storeclock: it always happens when i force and occasionally when i narrate
- (9:48:52 PM) fourfiction: of course, now that I've had a sentient tulpa poking around I can simulate head pressure willingly.
- But of course I have to WILL it to happen, it doesnt happen without my desire.
- (9:49:11 PM) fourfiction: That could either be the fact that you are concentrating hard, or her
- (9:49:18 PM) storeclock: its the only thing thats happened outside of my mind
- (9:49:38 PM) fourfiction: mhm
- (9:49:47 PM) fourfiction: I been there
- (9:49:56 PM) storeclock: and thats just awesome
- (9:50:16 PM) fourfiction: it really is, because its proof to yourself that theres something else there
- (9:50:29 PM) storeclock: yup!
- (9:50:53 PM) fourfiction: lol youre motivating me to go force xD
- (9:51:07 PM) storeclock: woo
- (9:51:17 PM) storeclock: does she speak yet
- (9:51:22 PM) storeclock: miku
- (9:52:02 PM) fourfiction: Miku was made in July of 2012, but only lived about a month before she kind withered away. She
- poked up a couple times after that but I'm pretty sure shes 'dead'
- (9:52:12 PM) storeclock: :c
- (9:52:14 PM) fourfiction: yeah
- (9:52:36 PM) storeclock: well
- (9:52:39 PM) fourfiction: I got into the habit of parroting and she deteriorated and became pretty much mindless
- (9:52:46 PM) storeclock: D:
- (9:53:02 PM) storeclock: shouldnt have told me that
- (9:53:10 PM) fourfiction: lol
- (9:53:19 PM) fourfiction: dude, no one else has had that situation happen to them
- (9:53:26 PM) storeclock: ok
- (9:53:27 PM) fourfiction: its pretty unique
- (9:53:54 PM) storeclock: last question
- (9:53:56 PM) fourfiction: if I were you I'd read the progress reports of Knapp, Avalanche, and Pleeb on tulpa.info/forums
- (9:54:01 PM) fourfiction: for reference
- (9:54:03 PM) fourfiction: yeah?
- (9:54:08 PM) storeclock: irish's guide mentions a library
- (9:54:19 PM) storeclock: containing all your memories for the tulpa to access
- (9:54:27 PM) fourfiction: yea?
- (9:54:27 PM) storeclock: did you do that
- (9:54:38 PM) fourfiction: I tried, but never got it working.
- (9:54:44 PM) storeclock: ah
- (9:54:50 PM) storeclock: that answers my question
- (9:55:01 PM) fourfiction: mostly because I didnt completely understand it and how it would work. A lot of things like that
- you just have to believe in or have 'faith' in.
- (9:55:25 PM) storeclock: Too much subjectiveness aaa
- (9:55:33 PM) fourfiction: but i had no faith at all i was just like "insert library, put some books and shit, cool. Done. wut."
- (9:55:36 PM) fourfiction: lol ikr
- (9:55:43 PM) fourfiction: i HATE the subjectiveness people are throwing around
- (9:55:54 PM) storeclock: Tulpa-ing is the most subjective thing that i have ever.
- (9:55:56 PM) fourfiction: i like the more grounded and logical approaches
- (9:56:02 PM) fourfiction: thats true though
- (9:56:16 PM) storeclock: but its crazy cause the subjectiveness its there
- (9:56:29 PM) storeclock: there isnt a "right" way
- (9:56:32 PM) fourfiction: i still follow the /original/ guides. No one else does because theyre happy to frolic around and
- have happy times with their tulpa, which I find silly.
- (9:56:45 PM) fourfiction: yeah, but not as bad as newer guides and such
- (9:56:49 PM) storeclock: frolicing is nice
- (9:57:00 PM) fourfiction: eh, i think people treat them too much like imaginary friends.
- (9:57:19 PM) storeclock: well they are sentient right
- (9:57:21 PM) fourfiction: or act like the gravity of a tulpa is almost nothing.
- (9:57:28 PM) storeclock: gravity?
- (9:57:29 PM) fourfiction: yeah, imaginary friends are puppets though
- (9:57:37 PM) fourfiction: gravity...hmm let me think how to explain...
- (9:57:44 PM) ***fourfiction types for a while
- (9:59:38 PM) fourfiction: A tulpa is a complete second consiousness capable of storing its own memories and such. You get what you put into a tulpa, so if you force personality for one hour and then act like its sentient and such and go have awesome adventures - the personality will be very shallow as apposed to forcing traits and getting to know your developing tulpa over a period of a couple months. People place more emphasis on the relationship they have with their tulpa than what a tulpa really is.
- (10:00:22 PM) fourfiction: Which is a self-aware entity that essentially is a very real person inside your head that is not you.
- (10:00:54 PM) storeclock: Yeah
- (10:01:12 PM) storeclock: i read a thing on the forums about responsibility
- (10:01:29 PM) fourfiction: I actually tried to restart an older and VERY much smaller tulpa community that is more science-minded and less roleplaying and silliness.
- (10:01:39 PM) fourfiction: yeah, responsibilty is big
- (10:02:05 PM) storeclock: what was it
- (10:02:33 PM) fourfiction: well, I dont plan to tell anyone actually.
- ...
- (10:03:20 PM) fourfiction: I am pretty much the only member out of about 4 that still go to this other site, so I am a tipping point for it.
- (10:03:36 PM) storeclock: Wow thats small
- (10:03:37 PM) fourfiction: I dont know, the fact that you use irish's guides says you arent a lot
- (10:03:43 PM) fourfiction: yeah but it was big a year ago
- ...
- (10:05:58 PM) storeclock: Everyhwere on the internet
- (10:05:59 PM) fourfiction: ikr fuckin mlp tuppers
- (10:06:13 PM) storeclock: not even just tulpa, fuckin everywhere
- (10:06:14 PM) fourfiction: technically the tulpa thing started on 4chan's /mlp/
- (10:06:25 PM) storeclock: yes you can
- (10:06:45 PM) storeclock: prolly not gonna post tough
- (10:06:59 PM) storeclock: didnt tulpas date back to monks?
- (10:07:13 PM) fourfiction: thats even better actually lol I rarely post. I dont want the forums there to turn into blogs, I want them to stay scientific.
- (10:07:35 PM) storeclock: Id be interested in an actual scientific analysis of tulpas
- (10:08:15 PM) fourfiction: well not so much scientific /analysis/ but more of just professionalism and less mockery and immaturity and such.
- (10:08:21 PM) storeclock: yes
- (10:08:35 PM) storeclock: But scientific analysis would be interesting
- (10:08:41 PM) storeclock: but kind of impossible
- (10:09:05 PM) storeclock: Maybe brain activity while forcing vs. not forcing or something
- (10:09:58 PM) fourfiction: maybe "serious" is better than "scientific". Pleeb wrote an interesting post on seriousness related to tulpas when he started his site: http://tulpa.info/forums/Announcement-It-s-time-to-get-serious
- (10:10:09 PM) fourfiction: (still fetching that other community's site brb)
- (10:11:44 PM) storeclock: Common sense dictates that a person with a tulpa will have 2x brain activity from having an extra consciousness in there
- ...
- (10:13:15 PM) fourfiction: Very much appreciate it if you could.
- (10:13:24 PM) storeclock: Ok
- (10:13:35 PM) storeclock: No ponies allowed
- (10:13:48 PM) fourfiction: I post there under a new nickname to avoid relevance to my tulpa.info history
- (10:14:08 PM) fourfiction: I dont know about ponies and the rules, but I doubt their influence has spread to this site.
- (10:14:16 PM) fourfiction: at least not the parts I have combed
- (10:14:17 PM) storeclock: Tbh i can see why them bronies are attracted to tulpas
- (10:14:35 PM) fourfiction: Its the same with any other hardcore fans of any show, movie, etc
- (10:14:57 PM) storeclock: But moreso w/ them cause they are very easy to visualize
- (10:15:15 PM) storeclock: Thick lines, flat colors
- (10:15:17 PM) fourfiction: for some reason that no one can still define, however, ponies stand out more than Dr. Who, star trek, and other really high up there series.
- (10:15:26 PM) fourfiction: oh good point
- (10:15:57 PM) storeclock: Pony has 5 defining physical traits
- (10:16:12 PM) storeclock: As opposed to the vast multitude that even an anime charcter does
- (10:16:15 PM) fourfiction: dang, its almost like hasbro started the whole thing. Damn.
- (10:16:22 PM) storeclock: let alone a real person
- (10:16:26 PM) storeclock: 1) gender
- (10:16:29 PM) storeclock: 2) color
- (10:16:34 PM) storeclock: 3) mane + tail
- (10:16:39 PM) fourfiction: lol what if hasbro started the 4chan post about tulpas to promote their product?
- (10:16:43 PM) storeclock: 4) cutie mark
- (10:16:53 PM) storeclock: 5) presence of horn/wings
- (10:17:02 PM) storeclock: Thats it
- (10:17:15 PM) storeclock: They all have the same height, same body structure
- (10:17:19 PM) storeclock: everything
- (10:17:29 PM) fourfiction: damn
- (10:17:32 PM) storeclock: super easy to visualize
- (10:17:34 PM) fourfiction: i love the way you think lol
- (10:17:45 PM) storeclock: Even anime character are complicated in comparison
- (10:18:23 PM) fourfiction: dang youre observant. It kind of makes sense now that you put it into focus.
- (10:18:25 PM) storeclock: Super easy to make OC
- (10:19:17 PM) fourfiction: yeah
- (10:19:19 PM) storeclock: it helps that the community has the same "waifu" mentality as anime community
- (10:19:33 PM) storeclock: strongly associate with one char
- (10:19:42 PM) storeclock: easy next step is to make a tulpa
- (10:19:42 PM) fourfiction: yea the mlp community has a strong base of the anime community's mentality
- (10:20:02 PM) storeclock: aaaaaaand thats why bronies are here
- (10:20:06 PM) storeclock: the end
- (10:20:19 PM) fourfiction: damn
- (10:20:50 PM) fourfiction: its been a while since ive used my brain like that
- (10:20:52 PM) fourfiction: lol
- (10:21:11 PM) storeclock: anime tulpas are common for the same reason
- (10:21:30 PM) fourfiction: not many other communities make tulpas of real people huh
- (10:21:40 PM) storeclock: its hard!
- (10:21:45 PM) fourfiction: haha
- (10:21:50 PM) storeclock: i cant visualize a real person for scratch
- (10:21:53 PM) fourfiction: yeah i tried giving miku a human form once
- (10:22:12 PM) storeclock: Mine's anime causenits easier
- (10:22:15 PM) fourfiction: it was near impossible, but even when I thought I was done it still wasnt realistic
- (10:22:17 PM) storeclock: cause its
- (10:22:21 PM) fourfiction: im picking anime too
- (10:22:26 PM) storeclock: hatsune i assume
- (10:22:27 PM) fourfiction: a LOT easier to visualize
- (10:22:36 PM) fourfiction: she actually chose the name Miku, her old name was Claire
- (10:22:47 PM) storeclock: Ah
- (10:22:49 PM) fourfiction: her form was a human too believe it or not
- (10:22:57 PM) storeclock: damng
- (10:22:59 PM) fourfiction: but I couldnt visualize details for shit
- (10:23:07 PM) storeclock: yeah
- (10:23:28 PM) fourfiction: i mean i got close and could intereract fine but i couldnt look to close at things without everything else fading
- (10:23:28 PM) storeclock: its so much easier to base off of an image
- (10:23:32 PM) fourfiction: yeaqh
- (10:23:38 PM) fourfiction: Kat is based off of an image
- (10:23:56 PM) storeclock: following the same line of thought, my wonderland is a real place that i visit often
- (10:24:01 PM) fourfiction: and Sierra is based off of the anime style with a underlying hint of realism
- (10:24:16 PM) storeclock: I disregard lonardo dicaprio's advice
- (10:24:22 PM) fourfiction: mine used to be an old apartment right when I moved it. Completely empty.
- (10:24:28 PM) fourfiction: haha inception
- (10:24:38 PM) ***storeclock used real place
- (10:24:41 PM) fourfiction: *right when i moved in
- (10:24:45 PM) ***fourfiction same
- (10:24:50 PM) storeclock: what is that dot
- (10:25:00 PM) fourfiction: to indicate grammatical error
- (10:25:18 PM) storeclock: Oh shit did i accidentally /me
- (10:25:20 PM) fourfiction: I said "it" instead of "in" and wanted to clarify
- (10:25:22 PM) ***storeclock what
- (10:25:24 PM) storeclock: i did
- (10:25:34 PM) storeclock: How did i manage that? Woah
- (10:25:35 PM) fourfiction: hah on accident? what?
- (10:25:44 PM) storeclock: no i mean on my client /me makes a dot appear
- (10:25:45 PM) fourfiction: i mean, its a habit here but on accident.....
- (10:25:48 PM) fourfiction: oh
- (10:25:50 PM) storeclock: next to the name
- (10:25:58 PM) storeclock: I was referring to that my bad lol
- (10:26:04 PM) fourfiction: thats fine XD
- (10:26:11 PM) storeclock: anyways
- (10:26:14 PM) fourfiction: yeah
- (10:26:41 PM) storeclock: i can visualize my wonderland in all 5 sense much easier cause i know what its like already
- (10:27:03 PM) fourfiction: I can only see it.
- (10:27:17 PM) fourfiction: I dont feel the need to train my other senses upon it, so I havent.
- (10:27:23 PM) storeclock: Even down to how the grass feels there as opposed to grass in other places
- (10:27:45 PM) fourfiction: damn
- (10:27:48 PM) storeclock: (the blades are skinnier)
- (10:27:51 PM) storeclock: it helps
- (10:27:52 PM) fourfiction: how long did you spend on that wonderland?
- (10:28:05 PM) storeclock: A day or 2
- (10:28:08 PM) fourfiction: ah
- (10:28:14 PM) storeclock: Not long, cause like i dais
- (10:28:16 PM) storeclock: Said*
- (10:28:18 PM) fourfiction: i spent about half an hour on mine hah
- (10:28:22 PM) storeclock: i already know what its like
- (10:28:28 PM) fourfiction: I see
- (10:28:37 PM) storeclock: i just take my memories
- (10:28:41 PM) storeclock: And remember
- (10:29:10 PM) storeclock: it makes everything very detailed
- (10:29:23 PM) storeclock: could never do it from scratch
- (10:29:38 PM) fourfiction: in fact the first forcing session with my newest tulpa, Sierra, was all just having me and her go on an adventure as a way for me to work on my visualization and her form at the same time.
- (10:29:46 PM) fourfiction: I try to hard to do it from scratch
- (10:29:54 PM) storeclock: So she walked?
- (10:30:20 PM) fourfiction: Not really, I mostly dragged her around. Not physically though, I mean like carrying and such
