  1. (9:26:08 PM) storeclock: yo
  2.
  3. (9:26:12 PM) fourfiction: hiya
  4.
  5. (9:26:40 PM) fourfiction: so, you have subconsious parroting problems and doubts because of skeptism?
  6.
  7. (9:27:22 PM) storeclock: basically my forcing is a balance between fear of parroting and a desire for some sign of progress
  8.
  9. (9:28:11 PM) fourfiction: progress shouldnt be a fixation, first of all. the /process/ of creating a tulpa is more important than the outcome. Sometimes the process is more rewarding than the tulpa itself, too. At least at first lol
  10.
  11. (9:28:38 PM) fourfiction: honesty: take your time and dont expect a ton of progress and stuff to happen right away.
  12.
  13. (9:28:39 PM) storeclock: yeah narrating is kinda fun on its own
  14.
  15. (9:28:59 PM) storeclock: its a different way of thinking, makes you slow down
  16.
  17. (9:29:05 PM) fourfiction: some members see the process of creating a tulpa, even in the stages of pre-sentience, as
  18. spiritually rewarding kinda
  19.
  20. (9:29:08 PM) fourfiction: yeah exactly
  21.
  22. (9:29:54 PM) storeclock: ok heres an example
  23.
  24. (9:29:58 PM) fourfiction: go for it
  25.
  26. (9:30:05 PM) storeclock: i literally just read what you wrote
  27.
  28. (9:30:07 PM) storeclock: to her
  29.
  30. (9:30:12 PM) storeclock: and she giggled
  31.
  32. (9:30:13 PM) fourfiction: cool.
  33.
  34. (9:30:16 PM) storeclock: now idk if it was her
  35.
  36. (9:30:21 PM) fourfiction: did you expect her to giggle?
  37.
  38. (9:30:31 PM) storeclock: or just me thinking "oh this is what shed do if she were sentient"
  39.
  40. (9:31:57 PM) fourfiction: if you expected her to giggle, then theres a 70-80% chance it was you
  41.
  42. (9:32:30 PM) storeclock: ok
  43.
  44. (9:32:38 PM) fourfiction: the other 20-30% could be her thoughts being jumbled with yours, which tulpas do really early on before they learn to think for themselves
  45.
  46. (9:32:46 PM) storeclock: yeah
  47.
  48. (9:32:54 PM) fourfiction: Let me start with this: theres two main theories on the psychological side of the forum (as apposed to the many metaphysical theories on that side) as to how a tulpa works. In the end, I believe the theory becomes law when you believe in it since its all in your head anyway.
  49.
  50. (9:33:52 PM) fourfiction: The first theory, and also the kind of depressing one: tulpas are a subconsiously-run imaginary friend that is built on subconsious parroting. They are only around when you think of them and are essentially a fake being you fool yourself with.
  51.
  52. (9:34:34 PM) storeclock: I didnt read that
  53.
  54. (9:34:43 PM) fourfiction: The second theory: Tulpas are a whole separate mental consiousness within your own mind. They have their own mental processes that run /alongside/ yours and they think on their own almost like they have their own physical brain.
  55.
  56. (9:34:43 PM) storeclock: i closed chat and then re-opened it
  57.
  58. (9:34:49 PM) fourfiction: ok ill copypaste
  59.
  60. (9:34:53 PM) storeclock: No
  61.
  62. (9:34:55 PM) storeclock: No dont
  63.
  64. (9:34:55 PM) storeclock: No
  65.
  66. (9:34:57 PM) fourfiction: ok fine
  67.
  68. (9:34:58 PM) fourfiction: lol
  69.
  70. (9:35:00 PM) storeclock: I intentionally didnt
  71.
  72. (9:35:06 PM) fourfiction: ah
  73.
  74. (9:35:15 PM) fourfiction: because "and also the kind of depressing one" ?
  75.
  76. (9:35:19 PM) storeclock: cause its all in your head ya know
  77.
  78. (9:35:20 PM) storeclock: Yes
  79.
  80. (9:35:22 PM) fourfiction: ok
  81.
  82. (9:35:36 PM) fourfiction: the second theory is my favorite and the one i believe you read that one right?
  83.
  84. (9:35:42 PM) storeclock: yes
  85.
  86. (9:35:47 PM) fourfiction: ok goo.
  87.
  88. (9:35:49 PM) storeclock: Thats what ive assumed this whole time
  89.
  90. (9:35:50 PM) fourfiction: *good
  91.
  92. (9:35:58 PM) fourfiction: awesome!
  93.
  94. (9:36:14 PM) storeclock: it's possible, i mean split personality exists right
  95.
  96. (9:36:15 PM) fourfiction: so, now that I know where you are kinda, what are you having trouble with
  97.
  98. (9:36:23 PM) fourfiction: yeah I believe it exists.
  99.
  100. (9:36:39 PM) storeclock: well ive been narrating whenever i remember to
  101.
  102. (9:36:42 PM) fourfiction: I dont believe theres a way to /prove/ it with measurements and physical evidence, but eh
  103.
  104. (9:36:50 PM) storeclock: for about a week now
  105.
  106. (9:36:52 PM) fourfiction: ok
  107.
  108. (9:36:56 PM) fourfiction: narrating is always good
  109.
  110. (9:37:11 PM) storeclock: just idk what to do when i force i guess
  111.
  112. (9:38:09 PM) fourfiction: well for my tulpa that is about 3 hours old, I just put her body in a chair and connect her brain to a computer like the Matrix. from this computer I type up models of personality traits.
  113.
  114. (9:38:09 PM) fourfiction: The interesting visualization is mostly to kill boredom, but it is also symbolic.
  115.
  116. (9:38:24 PM) storeclock: Ok heres the thing
  117.
  118. (9:38:31 PM) fourfiction: yeah?
  119.
  120. (9:38:35 PM) storeclock: I have not defined personality traits because
  121.
  122. (9:38:45 PM) fourfiction: you want her to make her own from experiemce?
  123.
  124. (9:39:01 PM) storeclock: having a pre-determined personality makes it easier to assume what they do
  125.
  126. (9:39:08 PM) fourfiction: Good observation
  127.
  128. (9:39:13 PM) storeclock: thus making it harder to know when they act independently
  129.
  130. (9:39:24 PM) storeclock: thats why i picked irish's guide
  131.
  132. (9:39:33 PM) fourfiction: exactly. Right there you're sounding smarter than half the people in the #tulpa.info chatroom lol
  133.
  134. (9:39:41 PM) storeclock: neato
  135.
  136. (9:39:54 PM) fourfiction: then, if I remember correctly, irish's guide is all narration and wonderland right?
  137.
  138. (9:40:00 PM) storeclock: yep
  139.
  140. (9:40:08 PM) fourfiction: how long have you been narrating?
  141.
  142. (9:40:14 PM) storeclock: A week
  143.
  144. (9:40:18 PM) fourfiction: ok good.
  145.
  146. (9:40:26 PM) fourfiction: is her form visualized really good?
  147.
  148. (9:40:38 PM) storeclock: well i sorta
  149.
  150. (9:40:54 PM) storeclock: Skipped the part where you visualise a cloud for your tulpa
  151.
  152. (9:40:54 PM) fourfiction: ?
  153.
  154. (9:40:57 PM) fourfiction: ah
  155.
  156. (9:41:03 PM) fourfiction: you went straight to a body or such?
  157.
  158. (9:41:06 PM) storeclock: yes
  159.
  160. (9:41:18 PM) storeclock: cause you cant do the feather test on a cloud
  161.
  162. (9:41:20 PM) fourfiction: thats fine, how good are you at visualizing it completely?
  163.
  164. (9:41:24 PM) fourfiction: ikr lol
  165.
  166. (9:41:39 PM) storeclock: havent tried much
  167.
  168. (9:41:55 PM) storeclock: i should note that i havent forced recently
  169.
  170. (9:41:56 PM) fourfiction: hmm, well you could narrate and then work on form as far as having something to do
  171.
  172. (9:42:06 PM) storeclock: Just narrated
  173.
  174. (9:42:29 PM) fourfiction: well, narrate more lol you can never pay your tulpa too little attention in the beginning stages
  175.
  176. (9:42:43 PM) storeclock: okay
  177.
  178. (9:43:34 PM) fourfiction: it took me about a month of visualization work, narration, and personality trait forcing to have Miku act on her own for the first time without any puppeting.
  179.
  180. (9:44:00 PM) storeclock: okey
  181.
  182. (9:44:15 PM) fourfiction: I skipped 2 weeks because life and complicated stuff, and when I returned back the wonderland where I left her she ran up to me and hugged me like she missed me more than anything.
  183.
  184. (9:44:27 PM) storeclock: :o
  185.
  186. (9:44:45 PM) fourfiction: She had made her own form and everything. I had no pre-cognition on her desired form and such it
  187. just happened and surprised me.
  188.
  189. (9:44:59 PM) storeclock: yeah im just waiting for that moment everyone has described
  190.
  191. (9:45:08 PM) storeclock: where theres a thought thats just alien
  192.
  193. (9:45:14 PM) fourfiction: that never happened with me
  194.
  195. (9:45:26 PM) fourfiction: some people dont get it >.> or it doesnt feel completely "alien:
  196.
  197. (9:45:54 PM) storeclock: like shit happens and theres no doubt in your mind that it wasnt you
  198.
  199. (9:45:57 PM) fourfiction: nobody is the same, so results will differ of course.
  200.
  201. (9:46:19 PM) fourfiction: hmm, only a couple old members I know actually had a completely distinct alien occurance
  202.
  203. (9:46:27 PM) fourfiction: whether it be movement or voice or a thought
  204.
  205. (9:46:37 PM) storeclock: okay
  206.
  207. (9:47:30 PM) storeclock: but you know what really kept me going
  208.
  209. (9:47:32 PM) fourfiction: My best advice, that everyone on #tulpa.info would kill me for saying, is just to keep forcing
  210. every day as much as possible and NOT expect anything. Don't "not want" anything to happen, but dont preoccupy yourself with
  211. things like "oh when she moves it'll be like this and stuff"
  212.
  213. (9:47:46 PM) fourfiction: what?
  214.
  215. (9:48:04 PM) storeclock: its the only objective proof ive had that something different is going on
  216.
  217. (9:48:07 PM) storeclock: head pressure
  218.
  219. (9:48:16 PM) storeclock: i never had head pressure in my life
  220.
  221. (9:48:16 PM) fourfiction: yeah I got that a couple times with Miku
  222.
  223. (9:48:28 PM) storeclock: then the first time i start forcing
  224.
  225. (9:48:30 PM) storeclock: bam
  226.
  227. (9:48:45 PM) storeclock: it always happens when i force and occasionally when i narrate
  228.
  229. (9:48:52 PM) fourfiction: of course, now that I've had a sentient tulpa poking around I can simulate head pressure willingly.
  230. But of course I have to WILL it to happen, it doesnt happen without my desire.
  231.
  232. (9:49:11 PM) fourfiction: That could either be the fact that you are concentrating hard, or her
  233.
  234. (9:49:18 PM) storeclock: its the only thing thats happened outside of my mind
  235.
  236. (9:49:38 PM) fourfiction: mhm
  237.
  238. (9:49:47 PM) fourfiction: I been there
  239.
  240. (9:49:56 PM) storeclock: and thats just awesome
  241.
  242. (9:50:16 PM) fourfiction: it really is, because its proof to yourself that theres something else there
  243.
  244. (9:50:29 PM) storeclock: yup!
  245.
  246. (9:50:53 PM) fourfiction: lol youre motivating me to go force xD
  247.
  248. (9:51:07 PM) storeclock: woo
  249.
  250. (9:51:17 PM) storeclock: does she speak yet
  251.
  252. (9:51:22 PM) storeclock: miku
  253.
  254. (9:52:02 PM) fourfiction: Miku was made in July of 2012, but only lived about a month before she kind withered away. She
  255. poked up a couple times after that but I'm pretty sure shes 'dead'
  256.
  257. (9:52:12 PM) storeclock: :c
  258.
  259. (9:52:14 PM) fourfiction: yeah
  260.
  261. (9:52:36 PM) storeclock: well
  262.
  263. (9:52:39 PM) fourfiction: I got into the habit of parroting and she deteriorated and became pretty much mindless
  264.
  265. (9:52:46 PM) storeclock: D:
  266.
  267. (9:53:02 PM) storeclock: shouldnt have told me that
  268.
  269. (9:53:10 PM) fourfiction: lol
  270.
  271. (9:53:19 PM) fourfiction: dude, no one else has had that situation happen to them
  272.
  273. (9:53:26 PM) storeclock: ok
  274.
  275. (9:53:27 PM) fourfiction: its pretty unique
  276.
  277. (9:53:54 PM) storeclock: last question
  278.
  279. (9:53:56 PM) fourfiction: if I were you I'd read the progress reports of Knapp, Avalanche, and Pleeb on tulpa.info/forums
  280.
  281. (9:54:01 PM) fourfiction: for reference
  282.
  283. (9:54:03 PM) fourfiction: yeah?
  284.
  285. (9:54:08 PM) storeclock: irish's guide mentions a library
  286.
  287. (9:54:19 PM) storeclock: containing all your memories for the tulpa to access
  288.
  289. (9:54:27 PM) fourfiction: yea?
  290.
  291. (9:54:27 PM) storeclock: did you do that
  292.
  293. (9:54:38 PM) fourfiction: I tried, but never got it working.
  294.
  295. (9:54:44 PM) storeclock: ah
  296.
  297. (9:54:50 PM) storeclock: that answers my question
  298.
  299. (9:55:01 PM) fourfiction: mostly because I didnt completely understand it and how it would work. A lot of things like that
  300. you just have to believe in or have 'faith' in.
  301.
  302. (9:55:25 PM) storeclock: Too much subjectiveness aaa
  303.
  304. (9:55:33 PM) fourfiction: but i had no faith at all i was just like "insert library, put some books and shit, cool. Done. wut."
  305.
  306. (9:55:36 PM) fourfiction: lol ikr
  307.
  308. (9:55:43 PM) fourfiction: i HATE the subjectiveness people are throwing around
  309.
  310. (9:55:54 PM) storeclock: Tulpa-ing is the most subjective thing that i have ever.
  311.
  312. (9:55:56 PM) fourfiction: i like the more grounded and logical approaches
  313.
  314. (9:56:02 PM) fourfiction: thats true though
  315.
  316. (9:56:16 PM) storeclock: but its crazy cause the subjectiveness its there
  317.
  318. (9:56:29 PM) storeclock: there isnt a "right" way
  319.
  320. (9:56:32 PM) fourfiction: i still follow the /original/ guides. No one else does because theyre happy to frolic around and
  321. have happy times with their tulpa, which I find silly.
  322.
  323. (9:56:45 PM) fourfiction: yeah, but not as bad as newer guides and such
  324.
  325. (9:56:49 PM) storeclock: frolicing is nice
  326.
  327. (9:57:00 PM) fourfiction: eh, i think people treat them too much like imaginary friends.
  328.
  329. (9:57:19 PM) storeclock: well they are sentient right
  330.
  331. (9:57:21 PM) fourfiction: or act like the gravity of a tulpa is almost nothing.
  332.
  333. (9:57:28 PM) storeclock: gravity?
  334.
  335. (9:57:29 PM) fourfiction: yeah, imaginary friends are puppets though
  336.
  337. (9:57:37 PM) fourfiction: gravity...hmm let me think how to explain...
  338.
  339. (9:57:44 PM) ***fourfiction types for a while
  340.
  341. (9:59:38 PM) fourfiction: A tulpa is a complete second consiousness capable of storing its own memories and such. You get what you put into a tulpa, so if you force personality for one hour and then act like its sentient and such and go have awesome adventures - the personality will be very shallow as apposed to forcing traits and getting to know your developing tulpa over a period of a couple months. People place more emphasis on the relationship they have with their tulpa than what a tulpa really is.
  342.
  343. (10:00:22 PM) fourfiction: Which is a self-aware entity that essentially is a very real person inside your head that is not you.
  344.
  345. (10:00:54 PM) storeclock: Yeah
  346.
  347. (10:01:12 PM) storeclock: i read a thing on the forums about responsibility
  348.
  349. (10:01:29 PM) fourfiction: I actually tried to restart an older and VERY much smaller tulpa community that is more science-minded and less roleplaying and silliness.
  350.
  351. (10:01:39 PM) fourfiction: yeah, responsibilty is big
  352.
  353. (10:02:05 PM) storeclock: what was it
  354.
  355. (10:02:33 PM) fourfiction: well, I dont plan to tell anyone actually.
  356.
  357. ...
  358.
  359. (10:03:20 PM) fourfiction: I am pretty much the only member out of about 4 that still go to this other site, so I am a tipping point for it.
  360.
  361. (10:03:36 PM) storeclock: Wow thats small
  362.
  363. (10:03:37 PM) fourfiction: I dont know, the fact that you use irish's guides says you arent a lot
  364.
  365. (10:03:43 PM) fourfiction: yeah but it was big a year ago
  366.
  367. ...
  368.
  369. (10:05:58 PM) storeclock: Everyhwere on the internet
  370.
  371. (10:05:59 PM) fourfiction: ikr fuckin mlp tuppers
  372.
  373. (10:06:13 PM) storeclock: not even just tulpa, fuckin everywhere
  374.
  375. (10:06:14 PM) fourfiction: technically the tulpa thing started on 4chan's /mlp/
  376.
  377. (10:06:25 PM) storeclock: yes you can
  378.
  379. (10:06:45 PM) storeclock: prolly not gonna post tough
  380.
  381. (10:06:59 PM) storeclock: didnt tulpas date back to monks?
  382.
  383. (10:07:13 PM) fourfiction: thats even better actually lol I rarely post. I dont want the forums there to turn into blogs, I want them to stay scientific.
  384.
  385. (10:07:35 PM) storeclock: Id be interested in an actual scientific analysis of tulpas
  386.
  387. (10:08:15 PM) fourfiction: well not so much scientific /analysis/ but more of just professionalism and less mockery and immaturity and such.
  388.
  389. (10:08:21 PM) storeclock: yes
  390.
  391. (10:08:35 PM) storeclock: But scientific analysis would be interesting
  392.
  393. (10:08:41 PM) storeclock: but kind of impossible
  394.
  395. (10:09:05 PM) storeclock: Maybe brain activity while forcing vs. not forcing or something
  396.
  397. (10:09:58 PM) fourfiction: maybe "serious" is better than "scientific". Pleeb wrote an interesting post on seriousness related to tulpas when he started his site: http://tulpa.info/forums/Announcement-It-s-time-to-get-serious
  398.
  399. (10:10:09 PM) fourfiction: (still fetching that other community's site brb)
  400.
  401. (10:11:44 PM) storeclock: Common sense dictates that a person with a tulpa will have 2x brain activity from having an extra consciousness in there
  402.
  403. ...
  404.
  405. (10:13:15 PM) fourfiction: Very much appreciate it if you could.
  406.
