  10. (07:05:20) BadAsp: Hi
  11. (07:05:30) Sven_Q45: Ah those word creations again. :D
  12. (07:05:38) flesk: Oh, good. I haven't finished the last one yet. Didn't like it nearly as much as the previous ones.

  14. (07:05:53) Cheeseness: Smart people who're good wit hcomputers
  15. (07:05:57) Permafry_42: lol i bet this was inspired by the whole y2k scare
  16. (07:06:03) Cheeseness: Yeah, this episode is great
  17. (07:06:19) PikaED left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  18. (07:06:36) Cheeseness: Although I wish it looked like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cop3WO5kvuw
  19. (07:07:05) Cheeseness: That always makes me laugh
  20. (07:07:11) Permafry_42: i would love to see telltale make a new 2d sam and max
  21. (07:07:39) Sven_Q45: http://www.ebay.de/itm/141371149217?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 :P
  22. (07:08:43) Permafry_42: cool find sven =D
  23. (07:08:50) BadAsp: Permafry_42 Yeah I would like to see SOMEONE make a new 2D Sam and Max
  24. (07:08:56) Sven_Q45: Yes and bought it of course.
  25. (07:09:22) Jenni [Mibbit@hide-8BB25B34.stny.res.rr.com] entered the room.
  26. (07:09:34) flesk: Yeah, that part of Hit the Road was great.
  27. (07:09:42) Cheeseness: I kinda want to make a piece of fan art with Sam and Max wearing zombie outfits saying "With this new costumes we'll be a shoe in"
  28. (07:09:55) flesk: Also like the VR in BaSS.
  29. (07:09:58) Cheeseness: Hey Jenni :)
  30. (07:10:07) Cheeseness: Yeah, BaSS' VR is neat
  31. (07:10:11) Jenni: heh, Cheeseness I had the same idea for a fan comic. :P
  32. (07:10:12) Permafry_42: I still hope that SOMEONE (possibly telltale of df) will rerelease some more of the older lucas arts games like hit the road
  33. (07:10:15) Jenni: Hi :)
  34. (07:10:18) Cheeseness: But not as funny as Hit The Road
  35. (07:10:37) Cheeseness: Ha ha, we should collaborate Jenni
  36. (07:10:44) Sven_Q45: Cheeseness I know someone who has a Sam and Max figurine with a big gun. :)
  37. (07:10:45) Cheeseness: JESSI JAMES' ACTUAL HAND
  38. (07:10:55) oughtobe [Mibbit@hide-6ED87348.san.res.rr.com] entered the room.
  39. (07:11:00) Cheeseness: Sven_Q45: Nice. I nearly bought one
  40. (07:11:04) Cheeseness: Hey oughtobe
  41. (07:11:17) oughtobe: Hello
  42. (07:11:18) Jenni: I'm about 25% done with a homemade Max plushie
  43. (07:11:25) DocYay left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  44. (07:11:28) Sven_Q45: I want that to. And why isn´t there any Max plushie out there
  45. (07:11:31) Jenni: I got the head stuffed, now I just need to do the rest. :P
  46. (07:11:34) Cheeseness: Oh nice
  47. (07:11:38) oughtobe: any developers here today?
  48. (07:11:57) SheHulk [Mibbit@hide-9D99ACAA.unity-media.net] entered the room.
  49. (07:12:06) Cheeseness: Nah, it's been hard to wrangle guests (PAX and stuff makes everybody busy)
  50. (07:12:10) flesk: You made the pattern yourself, Jenni?
  51. (07:12:12) Cheeseness: Hi SheHulk
  52. (07:12:23) SheHulk: Hey :)
  53. (07:12:30) Sven_Q45: In Germany you can buy a Harvey plushie from Edna and Harvey. :) But why no Max? I would bye it at once! And put it next to Harvey. :)
  54. (07:12:33) Jenni: Yeah
  55. (07:12:37) Cheeseness: Ha ha, I forgot about that carpet/drapes line
  56. (07:12:39) Jenni: I used Steve Purcell's corrections for the Max dimensions to make my plushie
  57. (07:12:55) flesk: Nice.
  58. (07:12:57) Cheeseness: Steve's said before that he didn't want to turn Sam & Max into a merchandising machine
  59. (07:13:02) Jenni: the ones that were included in Telltale's summer of Sam & Max
  60. (07:13:11) Cheeseness: (I think that was why he shied away from getting stuffed toys and stuff made)
  61. (07:13:30) Sven_Q45: Big shame. :(
  62. (07:13:34) BadAsp: :(
  63. (07:13:35) Jenni: Mine's the only one I've seen so far that has one curved ear for Max. :)
  64. (07:13:39) Cheeseness: Hey BadAsp
  65. (07:13:47) Permafry_42: gotta love the whee =D
  66. (07:13:48) BadAsp: Hi Cheeseness
  67. (07:14:00) Cheeseness: Wheee is the best
  68. (07:14:13) Cheeseness: Bosco in the bacground there is great
  69. (07:14:15) Sven_Q45: Does anyone know where to get this Sam and Max figurine? Cheeseness?
  70. (07:14:26) Cheeseness: Sven_Q45: They were limited edition IIRC
  71. (07:14:51) Sven_Q45: I thought so. But if anybody wants to sell it...
  72. (07:14:54) Jenni: Yeah, unfortunately I think eBay's the only way to get them now
  73. (07:15:12) Sven_Q45: But didn´t find it on Ebay yet. :(
  74. (07:15:39) Jenni: Sam & Max stuff doesn't pop up often
  75. (07:16:01) Cheeseness: IDid anybody spot Emily's post on adventuregamers?
  76. (07:16:06) Jenni: I've only seen the Case Files pop up a few times and The Age of S&M sketchbook once
  77. (07:16:22) Cheeseness: I'll never part with my case files
  78. (07:16:30) Cheeseness: http://www.adventuregamers.com/forums/viewthread/4204/#69330
  79. (07:16:48) Jenni: My first season case file got chewed up by my sister's puppy :(
  80. (07:16:53) Permafry_42: i really love all the jokes they can make thanks to max being president
  81. (07:16:54) Cheeseness: Oh noes :(
  82. (07:17:03) silverspork [Adium@hide-3A82BA2A.hsd1.ma.comcast.net] entered the room.
  83. (07:17:14) Cheeseness: Yeah, this episode really freshens up a lot of the dialogue
  84. (07:17:19) Jenni: The glasses and the newspaper clipping made it out ok
  85. (07:17:20) silverspork: yo
  86. (07:17:31) Jenni: I'm really bummed about the loss of the magnet though
  87. (07:18:31) Cheeseness: Ha ha, Bosco is the best
  88. (07:18:34) Cheeseness: I miss him so much
  89. (07:18:36) Cheeseness: Hey silverspork
  90. (07:18:36) SheHulk: Bosco!
  91. (07:18:42) Jenni: I love how they put the postcard from the last episode of this season (and from the postcard) in Marty's room in Back to the Future: The Game
  92. (07:19:34) Jenni: there's a lot of Sam & Max stuff that still pops up in their games (like the Situation Comedy stuff in Wolf and the Banang in pretty much everything)
  93. (07:19:35) Permafry_42: the dialogue reminds me of some of the old wow advertisements =D
  94. (07:19:45) flesk: No, hadn't seen that post, Cheeseness.
  95. (07:19:47) GameClubFan_568209 [Mibbit@hide-C2AACA81.dhcp.inet.fi] entered the room.
  96. (07:19:52) Cheeseness: I'm Bosco and I'm a Half-Elf!
  97. (07:20:08) Jenni: er I meant case file, I didn't mean to type postcard twice. ;)
  98. (07:20:43) Sven_Q45: I have 9 adventure game related plushies! 8) Next year I get the critter from TBOUT 2. :) And I have 3 crocheted figurines and 5 (plastic or other stuff) figurines. hrhr
  99. (07:21:06) Cheeseness: These "do you have any" lines are my favourites
  100. (07:21:51) Jenni: Yeah I love those too
  101. (07:21:56) Jenni: there's a lot of in jokes in there
  102. (07:22:05) Sven_Q45: And a Delorean, A Desoto and a Edsel. And a revan figurine from SWKOTOR.
  103. (07:22:17) Jenni: and, as I just mentioned a few, I'm sure you can tell that I love in-jokes. :)
  104. (07:22:22) Cheeseness: :D
  105. (07:22:31) Jenni: There's even some Hit the Road in jokes in some of them
  106. (07:23:33) Cheeseness: It's nice that they put in a bunch of Hit The Road references
  107. (07:23:44) Cheeseness: (and a couple calls back to the tv series/comics)
  108. (07:24:04) Permafry_42: i think my favourite adventure game collectable is my professor layton stuffie i got from japan
  109. (07:24:47) Sven_Q45: Didn´t play Layton yet.
  110. (07:24:55) Permafry_42: but i recently had a collector's edition of full throttle and donated to my university's video game library
  111. (07:25:19) flesk: I wonder how much time they've put in preparing for these games, playing HtR, reading the comics... It feels very true to the source material.
  112. (07:25:20) Permafry_42: i have a lot of rpg collectables though
  113. (07:25:28) Cheeseness: I recently got my hands on one of 50 signed press kits for one of my favourite games. That's my prize possession now
  114. (07:25:40) Cheeseness: most prized possession^
  115. (07:25:56) flesk: Which game is that, Cheeseness?
  116. (07:26:18) Cheeseness: Can't talk about it at the moment, I'm afraid. Rest assured that I'll be making a ruckus when it's time :)
  117. (07:26:30) Permafry_42: i think the most valuable video game possession i have is the north american wizard's edition of ni no kuni, which i believe is currently going for between $300-$400
  118. (07:26:43) flesk: You're such a tease. :P
  119. (07:26:46) Sven_Q45: Last week I recieved a soundtrack of DK Country returns from Japan for a friend. It´s still unopened!! If not a present I would keep that! Tho it´s not my genre. But I like the music in this game. :)
  120. (07:26:48) Permafry_42: excluding my gaming pc naturally
  121. (07:27:37) Cheeseness: Sorry, flesk <3
  122. (07:27:38) flesk: I don't really have a lot of game collectables.
  123. (07:28:32) Permafry_42: i love this puzzle =D
  124. (07:28:32) flesk: If it's one of your favorite games I'm guessing it's an unannounced remake or port or something.
  125. (07:28:33) oughtobe left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  126. (07:29:20) Cheeseness: Ah, to be a beta tester
  127. (07:29:58) Cheeseness: lol, Max
  128. (07:30:27) Cheeseness: Ah, the COPS
  129. (07:31:24) Permafry_42: i love how people were predicting the oculus for decades but we're only just now at the technological level for it to be do able affordably
  130. (07:32:01) Sven_Q45: My most expensive is Indy 4 for FM-Towns for over $400. :D
  131. (07:32:09) Permafry_42: i like video game protagonists that hate video games. not enough games willing to make fun of themselves =D
  132. (07:33:29) Sven_Q45: I bought Indy 3, 4 and Loom FM-Towns on the same day for ca $900. :D
  133. (07:34:40) Cheeseness: Permafry_42: I don't agree with that. The core concepts have been doable for a long time. The key 'innovation' is using lenses to increase the effective central view resolution whilst decreasing the peripheral resolution is the key thing that allowed them to save money by increasing the necessary pixel density without increasing the actual screen resolution
  134. (07:35:09) Flacote [Mibbit@hide-E04C5647.fibertel.com.ar] entered the room.
  135. Flacote flesk
  136. (07:35:22) Cheeseness: Hi Flacote
  137. (07:35:30) BadAsp: Hey Flacote
  138. (07:35:37) Flacote: Hi all!
  139. (07:35:43) GameClubFan_568209 left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  140. (07:35:44) Flacote: Greetings fron Argentina
  141. (07:35:51) Sven_Q45: Hi.
  142. (07:35:59) Cheeseness: IMO, the high price point of HMDs had been kept afloat because there were customers in the medical and military space who were willing to sustain vendors making stuff at that level
  143. (07:37:28) Cheeseness: I think some of Syd's favourite characters are in this scene
  144. (07:37:33) Permafry_42: yeah i agree cheese. Even the virtual boy was technically vr. That said i think what makes the oculus more impressive isn't just pixel density but also the compatibility with most first person pc games. Older technology usually only had a handful of games that worked with it
  145. (07:38:12) Cheeseness: That's the other thing that I think helped - not needing drivers as such - just using one screen and getting the app to render the distorted image
  146. (07:38:29) Permafry_42: also love the songs throughout this season =D
  147. (07:38:52) Sven_Q45: Especially THIS song. :)
  148. (07:38:59) Cheeseness: Although that seems to have changed in recent SDK versions? :/
  149. (07:39:00) Cheeseness: (I'm not using the official SDK, so I'm not following it too closely)
  150. (07:39:07) Permafry_42: this and e4's song
  151. (07:39:25) Cheeseness: I'd love it if we could get Jared as a guest sometime
  152. (07:40:08) BadAsp: Speaking of which, why isn't Steve Purcell a guest yet?
  153. (07:40:19) MJD left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 183 seconds).
  154. (07:41:29) Permafry_42: i'm hoping to get the dev kit that comes out at the same time as the consumer version since I don't have much money right now and by then I'll be taking classes at university involving virtual reality
  155. (07:41:39) Cheeseness: I have no idea. Some people aren't interested, don't have time, are a bit shy or don't like the idea.
  156. (07:42:32) MJD [quassel@B91F234E:85157A4:357145A7:IP] entered the room.
  157. (07:43:03) Cheeseness: BadAsp: I think we've gotten word to him, but it's hard to say for sure. There's not much more we can do to reach out besides getting somebody to ask him at a convention or something that wouldn't be disrespectful of his privacy
  158. (07:43:37) Cheeseness: The internet looks suspiciously like the WARP TV woman
  159. (07:44:59) Sven_Q45: When I played this I just wanted to play IN the reality 2.0. :D
  160. (07:47:28) Cheeseness: Angry Sybil is the best
  161. (07:49:17) Cheeseness: I'm mesmerised
  162. (07:49:48) BadAsp: Is it wrong for me to want to see Myra in body armor?
  163. (07:49:51) Permafry_42: what i'd love is an adventure game set in a fictional mmo world; sort of like .hack// but an adventure game rather than an rpg
  164. (07:50:04) BadAsp: I've always wanted to see a Sam and Max RPG
  165. (07:50:09) BadAsp: I mean, an actual RPG
  166. (07:50:21) Cheeseness: That would be... interesting
  167. (07:50:43) Cheeseness: Who here played these episodes when they came out?
  168. (07:50:47) BadAsp: Maybe an action RPG like Alundra?
  169. (07:51:05) Permafry_42: badasp i could see it going as well as that serious sam rpg
  170. (07:51:22) Permafry_42: which would be pretty good =D
  171. (07:52:27) Permafry_42: and i only recently bought all the sam and max episodes so i'm still in the process of playing all of them through
  172. (07:53:09) Cheeseness: I'd originally intended to play them at once when the last episode was released, but after playing the first one and listening to them talk about how they wanted to have self contained stories, I felt more comfortable playing them individually
  173. (07:53:38) Cheeseness: You really had no idea where things were going to go
  174. (07:54:45) Permafry_42: i love the lighting in the virtual world btw. has a bit of a tron feel to it
  175. (07:55:29) Sven_Q45: I played them when the retail coming out in Germany. But TOMI I played all when they came out. Pre ordered them. ;)
  176. (07:56:01) SadieWopen [Mibbit@hide-F518199C.static.exetel.com.au] entered the room.
  177. (07:56:04) Cheeseness: Hey SadieWopen
  178. (07:56:14) Cheeseness: Have you played this before?
  179. (07:56:14) SadieWopen: Hey guys
  180. (07:56:18) SadieWopen: nope
  181. (07:56:38) Cheeseness: Ha ha, it probably feels like you're stepping into the middle of something mad, but that's how all Sam & Max feels :D
  182. (07:57:24) flesk: I played these episodes when they came out.
  183. (07:57:44) flesk: The announcement of the first season is what brought me to Telltale Games.
  184. (07:57:46) Cheeseness: Do you feel like they change when you play them in the context of the finished series, flesk?
  185. (07:58:03) Permafry_42: anyone else notice the telltale poker game advertisement?
  186. (07:58:08) Cheeseness: I paid attention to Telltale when they started up, but Sam & Max was the first stuff I bought
  187. (07:58:50) SheHulk left the room (quit: Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client).
  188. (07:58:59) Sven_Q45: Cheeseness Dito. As LEC fan I aknoledged of TTG the first minute before the really started. :)
  189. (07:59:09) Cheeseness: :)
  190. (07:59:11) flesk: I don't really remember. This season is the only one I've played more than once and that was when I got the end of season DVD, so it was long ago.
  191. (07:59:21) Cheeseness: Speaking of which, Dave's left and is off doing something else now
  192. (07:59:31) Sven_Q45: Cheeseness Yeah. :)
  193. (08:00:01) BadAsp: If anyone can help start a new Sam and Max game, he might be the one to turn to
  194. (08:00:11) flesk: Possibly the tease from Emily?
  195. (08:00:14) Cheeseness: Unfortunately he's not free this weekend or next and can't join us (he said he always has a good time when he joins us though ^_^ )
  196. (08:00:28) Cheeseness: Maybe, maybe
  197. (08:00:43) BadAsp: I don't mean just on here
  198. (08:00:47) flesk: And Ron Gilbert also wrote a blog post asking for suggestions on an adventure game engine recently...
  199. (08:01:00) Cheeseness: It'd probably be best to avoid drawing too many conclusions. We've all had too many expectations that weren't met
  200. (08:01:12) flesk: They're bringing the band back together. ;)
  201. (08:01:14) Cheeseness: flesk: I don't know if you read that closely or not, but he's not looking for new tech to use
  202. (08:01:38) Cheeseness: He says that if he made an adventure game, he'd use the engine he has
  203. (08:01:38) flesk: Yeah, he was looking for something to pick apart or something?
  204. (08:02:21) Sven_Q45: I like LEC. But it´s ok. There are many other adventure game devs today. :)
  205. (08:02:51) Cheeseness: I'm still sad that they're not lower poly like HTR's VR at this point
  206. (08:03:02) Cheeseness: But it's still amusing
  207. (08:03:02) flesk: I doubt Dave Gilbert is looking to Kickstarter though.
  208. (08:03:22) Cheeseness: I was referring to Dave Grossman earlier^
  209. (08:03:33) Cheeseness: (in case that was confusing at all)
  210. (08:03:36) flesk: I know. I was referring to a suggestion in that thread.
  211. (08:03:41) Cheeseness: Mmm
  212. (08:04:01) flesk: No, not to me, but I can see that it might be for anyone here who didn't read that post on adventuregamers.com.
  213. (08:04:30) flesk: Someone there suggested Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye Games might do one.
  214. (08:05:12) Cheeseness: Mmm
  215. (08:05:17) flesk: And I know Emily has done some work for WEG, so that's of course a connection.
  216. (08:05:55) Cheeseness: Jenni: Do you have any WIP pictures of your Max plushie?
  217. (08:06:23) Cheeseness: Ha ha, Buster
