- 9:32 PM, Horus Building.
- A sharp tang fills my mouth as I see Ace walk into my office. His annoyed looks and state made my casual jokes seem unneeded for the time. After glaring at my desk, he pulled up his grey chair from behind his desk. He had bags under his eyes. He seemed to be looking for me to start the conversation as he was tapping his fingers against the chair armrest. 'Something got you down, Ace?' Breaking the silence. Squinting his eyes and tightening his index finger he replied, 'I think you know damned well what's bothering me. And, I'm pretty sure you're the only one who can fix it.'.
- 'How specifically do you think I can do that now? We don't even know where they are, considering you were the last scout we sent that we got back. For all we know they could be in the middle of the deserts.'. My comment seemed to strike a small cord, as Ace seemed to straighten his back. 'I expect you to do better, you're the only person these men follow. You never want to send more than a few men, which always ends up adding more bones in our yards.'.
- He was right. I never liked sending more than a squad of ten for these things, must've been my early war instincts. I stood up and began to peer out of the window behind me. That window showed every colour that my protanopia didn't affect greatly. 'You sure love colour, even the darkest of blood stained reds made you smile. Even if you could never see its real colour.' Said Ace, he noticed my particular preferences. Turning as I sat, I smirked at him in my head, Ace was an always observant man.
- 'I guess I could send a few more, but I'll need to mark their registers a bit to get them around. Happy now?' Saying as I picked up my pen. Ace stood up as he replied, 'Happy, but I need you to promise me something.'. 'Hm? What is it now?' Asing in annoyed confusion.
- 'I need you to understand that you cannot send him out there, you can not send Theta. He would, well, let's just say, "walk down memory lane" with the subjects.'. Twisting my bottom lip, I nodded in the fact stated. Theta wasn't something we needed ... now.
- I peered up to the clock, eight minutes had passed, Theta seems inveitable.
