  2. An Introductory Guide To TeleNet Commands

  4. I don't know how many of you use TeleNet to call this system (or other
  5. systems) but I thought this might come in handy for those that do.
  6.  
  7. Some basic info about TeleNet commands. To enter a TeleNet you must be at
  8. the TeleNet prompt "@". You can get there two ways:
  9.  
  10. 1) When you first dial TeleNet you will be at the prompt
  11. 2) When connected to a system via TeleNet you can return to TeleNet
  12. command mode by typing "<CR>@<CR>" (See note A.)
  13.  
  14. Once you get to the prompt here are some of the commands available to you
  15. and a brief description of what they do.

  17. Command Function
  18. -------------------------------------------------------------------------
  19. C xxxxxxx<CR> Connects you to a specific host or terminal.
  20.  
  21. STAT<CR> Display network port address.
  22.  
  23. FULL<CR> Set full duplex
  24.  
  25. HALF<CR> Set half duplex
  26.  
  27. DTAPE<CR> Prepares the network for bulk file transfers.
  28.  
  29. CONT<CR> Return to transfer mode from command mode.
  30.  
  31. BYE<CR> or D<CR> Disconnects you from the currently connected host.
  32.  
  33. HANGUP<CR> Tells TeleNet to hang up the phone....
  34.  
  35. TERM xx<CR> Changes your terminal type. xx can be one of the
  36. following:
  37. D1 = CRT's and Personal Computers
  38. B3 = Bi-directional printers
  39. A2 = Uni-directional printers
  40. A5 = Slow printing terminal which
  41. loses data on the left side
  42. at another setting.
  43. A9 = same as A5
  44. <CR> = Unknown
  45.  
  46. MAIL or Requests connection to Telemail.
  47. TELEMAIL<CR>
  48.  
  49. TEST CHAR<CR> Used to test the system if you are receiving
  50. garbled output. Use this and look for garbled
  51. characters or patern breaks. If you do try
  52. adjusting your parity or contact TeleNet.
  53.  
  54. TEST ECHO<CR> If you feel your input to the system is being
  55. garbled by your parity or contact TeleNet.
