This event must be done using gmts. Otherwise it'll fail like 2009

So players will be divided into groups by their GMT?

Hmmm.

So maybe let's make four ladders.

Ladder A - Gmt 0, Gmt +1, Gmt +2, Gmt +3, Gmt +4.
Ladder B - Gmt +5 etc
Ladder C - Bla bla
Ladder D -Bla bla

Easy solution - if you're doing trees just put people from top to bottom in GMT order.

Granted further in the GMT will get further apart, but it doesn't matter what you do about it. Inevitable is inevitable.

Umm...Not really.
We'll have to take 16, 32(I don't know the number) or whatever best players from all ladders to make a final bracket . It doesn't matter how many people will enter the event.
