  1. Venlahne was born on Dromund Kas in 3670 BBY. Her mother was a medical researcher at a major independent research firm in Kaas city, while her father was a Galactic Basic instructor at Kaas University. From an early age, she was exposed to languages, science, literature, and other academics from her parents and their friends, so she was far ahead of much of her class growing up. When she became a teenager in college, she wanted to combine what her parents taught her. She decided to become a doctor, to combine the work her mother did with the active role her father played with his students. When she was in college, she took aptitude tests to determine where she would be a good fit, and after doing exceptionally well, she had her full choice. A couple years after choosing the medical field, she was approached by Imperial Intelligence, who were looking to shore up a hole in their roster. They had plenty of spies, fixers, analysts, and various combat specialists, but their field team lacked a medical expert. She was approached in her final year of university by a recruiter, but declined at first because she had no interest in a military career. She was an idealistic young person who wanted to help people, so cloak and dagger stuff for the government wasn't on her list of desires. After a few tries of offering various pay grades and benefits with her declining, it finally worked when they said one of her duties would be counter-terrorism, and that someone with a medical background would be useful on the team should any biological agents be used by terrorists. They convinced her that she could help and protect many more people working for a counter-terrorism unit than she could in a field hospital on some backwater planet. She finally agreed, and began her career in Imperial Intelligence.

  3. She excelled in most of the training. She wasn't a particularly good fighter, always having been kind of small and not athletic, but she excelled in computers, information gathering, lying, and of course her specific area of expertise of biology and medicine. She probably wasn't qualified to be a fixer or assassin, but the more nuanced role of Cipher suited her quite well.

  5. She was somewhat disappointed with her early years in the service. Her assignments were mostly easy, and were mostly cleaning up for the government. She was always a patriot and loved where she was born, but she wasn't exactly fond of many of the things the Empire did. Slavery was not only legal, but in fact the government itself was one of the biggest clients. People born with a higher midiclhlorian count were given roles in the military and public administration regardless of qualifications, which made no sense to her and seemed to contradict what the Empire stood for. She also wasn't really interested in destroying the Republic. The galaxy is a big place, and here millions of people are fighting and dying in a war over previous slights and territory. She was a bit disillusioned with the Empire even before being embedded in the inner workings of it, where she saw how dissidents and even honorable adversaries of various politic or military personnel were treated wrongly. And that's not to even start on how Sith treated the people around them. She views them as a sickness harming the Empire from within.

  7. Imperial Intelligence may not seem like the career choice for a good natured and kind person, and Imperial Intelligence may not seem like the career choice for someone who isn't actually that fond of the Empire (or rather, wants to reform it), but the circumstance of her recruitment were different than most. Now, she wants to do what good she can while staying within the boundaries of her missions, and maybe some day help enact reform in the Empire so that it more adheres to its founding principals. End the war with the Republic, abolish slavery, and the Sith becomes an asset working *for* the empire rather than ruling it are just a few of the more ambitious things she would like to see happen.

  11. later in life, she uses her influence in the galaxy to correct injustices, and to promote equality and opportunity for those who put in the effort.

  13. She develops a special relationship with Lana Beniko, bonding over the things they have in common. They are both idealists who believe in what the Empire was founded upon, not how it currently is. They both are somewhat isolated among their peers, holding different philosophical beliefs than many of those that surround them. They are both spies, and understand how that may be isolating socially and romantically, and relate to each other. They both leave the Empire to do what needs to be done, fed up with the infighting and inaction of the Empire. Aligning on so many issues while still both being patriots to an ideal, they finally find a kindred spirit in each other, and their relationship slowly grows from professional to personal, then to love. They marry on Oddessen at a small ceremony with their closest friends, and have been happy together ever since, ready to face whatever the galaxy sends at them, together.
