[13:25] <TenMihara|GM> They come in many forms. Classic dreams, daydreams, and even aspirations.
[13:25] <TenMihara|GM> Some people think that dreaming is a waste of time
[13:26] <TenMihara|GM> Others think of it as an escape from the harshness of reality
[13:26] <TenMihara|GM> Some use dreams as a way to maintain their hope for something better
[13:27] <TenMihara|GM> Others think that dreams never come true
[13:27] <TenMihara|GM> However, everyone dreams. Whether they want to or not
[13:28] <TenMihara|GM> The only difference is how they view the act.
[13:28] <TenMihara|GM> What do our wastelanders dream about?
[13:28] <TenMihara|GM> Will their dreams come true?
[13:28] <TenMihara|GM> I guess we'll find out...
[13:28] <TenMihara|GM> *****Session Begins*****
[13:29] <TenMihara|GM> We last left our wastelanders in Stable 90, the Stable that, somehow, was never completed. Blizzard and her remaining Paladin departed, gathering up the armour of the rangers the group had already killed.
[13:32] <TenMihara|GM> The group had just proceeded out of the Stable with a broadcaster peripheral in their posession.
[13:38] * Green_Field follows along with Daisy as the group decides where to go next.
[13:38] * Razor is still a little ticked over the Ranger bitch, but she's feeling pretty good right now, anyway! Better than she's been feeling in general recently, that she knows for sure.
 [13:41] * Missile_Rush is glad to have finished getting the broadcaster. But there were other things to take care of.
[13:42] <TenMihara|GM> Purple_Kay is present, but quiet
[13:42] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy looks relieved that the rangers left, sticking close to Green_Field
[13:42] * Logic doesn't look happy. He doesn't like it whenever things go roughly and ponies die at any rate, but he especially doesn't like it when the reason he left wound up not even being there. Stupid.
[13:42] * Missile_Rush turns tail and exits the Stable quietly without a word. He seems troubled.
[13:43] * Proverb is outside with the others, standing quietly.
[13:47] * Missile_Rush has no time to stand around, nor does he want to stay any longer than he has to. This group does an awful lot of standing around and doing nothing. He trots forward to his next destination, not bothering to check who is following him.
[13:48] * Razor breaks the silence. "So where's the next thing!? I don't know about you, but I want this done quick!"
[13:49] * Proverb hops into the air, unslinging her SVD as she moves to follow Missile_Rush.
[13:49] <Missile_Rush> "An encrypted file in Ranger territory. We're going there now."
[13:49] * Harmony follows from the rear.
[13:50] <Missile_Rush> "Try to keep up."
[13:50] * Missile_Rush takes wing and zooms onwards!
[13:50] * Green_Field follows too.
[13:52] * Logic blinks and then bounds forward. Why are they running?!
[13:53] * Proverb easily catches up with Missile_Rush. "Hey, Missile. You realize the others can't keep up with is flying like this, right?"
[13:54] <Missile_Rush> "Time isn't waiting for us. I won't either."
[13:55] <Proverb> "Yeah, but guess what happens if we get there without the others?"
 [13:56] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy keeps up with Green_Field, but gets worried as the pegasi get further ahead
[13:56] <Missile_Rush> "Then they'll have to hurry, won't they?"
[13:56] * Missile_Rush nonetheless slows down enough to keep in the others' sights.
[13:57] * Green_Field keeps -walking-. If Missile_Rush wants to have a doctor on hoof, he can slow down.
[13:57] * Proverb snorts at Missile_Rush. "If you want to get yourself killed by charging blindly into Rnager territory be my guest." She flares her wings and drops back to her position above the group.
[13:59] * Missile_Rush nonetheless stays ahead of the group, close enough to be visible so he can be followed.
[14:00] * Razor moves at a quick pace. She wants to finish Missile_Rush's stuff so they can go back to the Stadium and talk to her mom. Everything else is secondary to that, right now.
[14:00] <TenMihara|GM> Purple_Kay is not very quick, his heavy armour keeping him from moving at anything approaching a gallop. He's content to walk with Green_Field
[14:01] * Proverb keeps her position above the main group, keeping her head on a swivel and looking out for danger.
[14:03] <TenMihara|GM> Missile_Rush isn't looking ahead and gets blindsided by a wayward sparrow.
[14:04] * Missile_Rush oofs, growling softly as he rubs at where the errant sparrow collided with him. Damn bird.
[14:04] * Proverb giggles.
[14:04] <TenMihara|GM> Proverb totally saw the sparrow coming just before it hit Missile
[14:06] <TenMihara|GM> The sparrow loops back around after adjusting for the collision. It then flies alongside Missile's face, chirping.
 [14:07] * Missile_Rush sighs, as he looks to the sparrow and speaks to it, flying onwards. "Must you be so rude?"
[14:08] <TenMihara|GM> The sparrow tweets
[14:09] * Missile_Rush regards the sparrow a moment with another sigh. "I don't have any birdseed. You're not following me just because you're hungry, are you?"
[14:10] <TenMihara|GM> Missile_Rush would notice that the sparrow is flying a bit lopsided, a few of its pinions bent
 [14:11] <Proverb> "Hey MIssile there's another one!"
[14:11] * Missile_Rush frowns, as he slows to a halt in midair as he regards the bird carefully. Expression unfathomable, he simply regards the bird for a moment. Then he lifts a hoof in front of him to see if the bird will perch.
[14:12] <TenMihara|GM> The bird does indeed perch in MIssile's hoof. It begins preening and straightening out its feathers
[14:13] * Missile_Rush glides slowly onwards, watching the bird in his hoof. "Whatever is the matter with you?" His voice betrays a hint of concern behind an otherwise dry tone.
[14:14] * Missile_Rush ignores Proverb for now.
[14:16] <TenMihara|GM> The bird gives Missile_Rush a look. It holds out the wing, motioning that the collision with Missile bent it out of shape. It bristles up, then resumes straightening its pinions out
[14:17] * Missile_Rush sighs, regarding the birdie in silence for a moment. He ponders - would he be able to bend it back?
[14:17] * Missile_Rush decides that isn't the case. He might not, but he knows somepony who might be able to. He turns tail in silence and flies back to where Green_Field is trotting along.
[14:18] * Proverb blinks as Missile_Rush turns around, dropping in altitude to hover above Green_Field curiously.
[14:22] * Missile_Rush speaks softly to the sparrow in the meantime. "Forgive me."
[14:23] * Green_Field doesn't realize what's going on. He's just glad that Missile_Rush stopped being stupid and came back.
[14:24] * Missile_Rush lands gently in front of Green_Field with the bird in hoof, as he approaches the medic and speaks softly. "I found an injured bird. Do you think you can fix its wing?"
[14:24] * Razor slows a bit as she notices the fliers move toward the back of the pack, with the slowpokes. Eventually, she calls out, "Hey! Can we get a move on?"
[14:25] * Green_Field looks at the bird then back to Missile_Rush. "Why? It's a fucking bird. It was flying alright just a minute ago."
[14:26] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy looks at the sparrow curiously
[14:27] * Missile_Rush looks sharply at Green_Field. "You'd be doing me a favor. Could you please?" He nearly cringes at that. It wasn't at all like him to be so...gah.
[14:29] * Green_Field chuckles and grins at Missile_Rush. "Is this another one of your 'selfish' desires?"
 [14:29] * Razor soon notices the bird, once the others catch up a bit. "Hey, if you caught some lunch, you've gotta get enough for all of us!"
[14:30] * Missile_Rush frowns at Green_Field. "Just do it while I'm asking nicely." He hesitates a moment, then adds. "I'll owe you one."
[14:31] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy giggles at Missile_Rush, then nods to Green_Field with a smile. The buck may be stupid, but apparently he had a soft spot
[14:31] * Green_Field 's grin turns into a smile. He nods. "Alright, you'll owe me one." His horn lights and he casts heal on it.
[14:32] * Missile_Rush would glare at Daisy if only he knew what she was thinking. Little does she know!
[14:32] <TenMihara|GM> The bird bristles at the unfamiliar sensation.
 [14:33] * Missile_Rush looks sharply back at Razor. "Don't even think about it."
[14:33] <TenMihara|GM> The bird flexes its wings, looking intrigued for those who can tell how animals thing.
[14:33] <TenMihara|GM> think*
[14:33] * Missile_Rush then looks back to the bird, looking to Green_Field with a nod of thanks, offering his hoof for the bird to perch on again.
[14:34] <TenMihara|GM> The bird takes off and flies away
[14:34] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy smiles. "Nice birdy."
[14:34] * Missile_Rush looks off and watches the bird with a slight, wistful look, before he turns back to the group. "We need to get a move on. We've delayed enough as it is." He takes wing and flies off once again.
[14:34] * Logic catches up. Looks at the bird. Looks at Missile. "Can I see it real quick?"
[14:36] * Proverb just giggles softly, rolling her eye before gaining altitude once more.
[14:37] * Green_Field smiles at Daisy before looking forward again and continuing on.
[14:37] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy trots along happily.
[14:38] * Missile_Rush is flying along ahead.
[14:41] * Razor gives a derisive snort and keeps moving. Fine.
[14:43] * Missile_Rush flapflapflaps onwards.
[14:43] <TenMihara|GM> The area through which the party travels seems to be largely deserted. Granted, it's Ranger territory, and there's plenty of reasons for people to stay away. There's the occasional pockmark of a blast crater, but that's about it
[14:44] * Logic frowns. Drat. That could've been fun. He doesn't like wide-open places. They're usually protected.
[14:45] * Proverb continues to keep her head on a swivel, her SVD hanging around her front on it's strap.
[14:45] * Missile_Rush keeps a sharp eye. He knows where he has to go, and he might as well be careful.
[14:46] <TenMihara|GM> From the sky, Proverb can probably see all the way to the sea from here. The distant murky grey of the water reflects the cloudy sky above.
[14:47] * Proverb lifts her rifle and looks down her scope towards the sea for a moment, before making a sweep of the area with the aid of the scope
[14:47] <Proverb> 's magnification. "Huh... never seen the sea before..."
[14:48] <TenMihara|GM> The sea rolls with the breeze, and Proverb can make out the outline of a pair of large vessels at the harbour. It's too far away to make out much detail from that distance
[14:50] <TenMihara|GM> Closer by however, Proverb is able to make out more detail. She can spot a patrol of three rangers due north as the closest group. A little north of east of the party's location, she can spot a small strip mall, which corresponds to the given location of Missile's objective.
[14:51] * Proverb makes a few adjustments to her scope, and tries to range the patrol of rangers using her scope.
[14:51] * Razor is a little tense at the general emptyness of the landscape. The longer it's taking, the more tense.
[14:51] <TenMihara|GM> The patrol of Rangers is about two kilometers distant
[14:52] <TenMihara|GM> They would be little more than specs to the naked eye
[14:56] * Proverb frowns a bit. Sadly they're out of her SVD's effective range of one kilometer. She then tries to estimate how far away the Ranger patrol is from the mall they're headed to, and how far the mall is away from them.
[14:57] <TenMihara|GM> The Rangers are walking in the opposite direction from the mall strip
[14:57] <TenMihara|GM> Which is about a kilometer and a half distant
 [14:58] * Proverb nods, dropping in altitude back to the group, letting her rifle hang by it's strap again. "Okay, the building we're headed to is about 1.5 klicks ahead, and there's a Ranger patrol heading away from it about 2 klicks away." She says.
[15:05] * Razor snorts. "Yeah, yeah, can we get to it already?"
[15:09] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy sticks close to Green_Field
[15:11] * Proverb flies back up to her previous position, continuing to keep on the lookout for more Ranger patrols.
[15:14] * Logic considers this. "Can we out maneuver them?"
[15:15] <Proverb> "They're moving away from the building, so yeah, pretty easily."
[15:17] <TenMihara|GM> As the party gets closer, Proverb's observations show that the minimall is largely intact, although there's a fair amount of refuse lying around
[15:20] * Logic , along the way, takes a look at the refuse to see if there's anything of use or any signs of things ahead.
[15:21] <TenMihara|GM> Logic finds two bits of useable scrap metal, and six bottlecaps amongst the trash
[15:23] * Green_Field remembers to look for some herbs to potentially make some healing potions. Either for use or caps.
 [15:24] <TenMihara|GM> Green_Field can't find anything useful
 [15:41] * Missile_Rush keeps a sharp eye.
[15:41] * Proverb continues to keep on the lookout as they approached the building.
[15:42] * Logic starts to slowly creep up on the minimall. Right. We have to get in. Which means we have to look out for traps.
[15:42] * Harmony follows behind.
[15:44] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy sticks close to Green_Field
[15:53] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy manages to spot a tripwire at the entrance to one of the stores. It's connected to a grenade bouquet. Harmony spots it too, as does Razor, although they just see the wire. Only daisy saw the bouquet
[15:53] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy stops and flails a bit, pointing out the grenades to Green_Field
[15:53] * Proverb lands as Daisy starts to flail, blinking at her. "What is it?"
[15:54] * Missile_Rush lands below to see what the matter is as well.
[15:54] * Harmony frowns, noting the tripwire and points to it for Proverb.
[15:54] * Green_Field grabs Daisy and pulls her back. "She found a tripwire."
[15:54] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy adds, "Gwenadeth." She points out the bouquet hidden in the upper left corner of the doorframe
[15:55] * Proverb looks over at Harmony, nodding to her as she points out the tripwire. "Ah..." She frowns. "Shall I try to disarm it? Or perhaps Mister Kay can?"
[15:56] * Razor taps her hoof. "Whatever you do, hurry it up! We're wasting time just standing around!"
[15:57] * Green_Field moves Daisy back in case they cause them to go off. "If you want to rush Razor, go ahead and set 'em off."
[15:58] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy stays well back, She didn't have any skill with it.
[15:59] * Razor rolls her eyes and hops over the tripwire, heading further inside. She mutters a quiet, "Foals."
[15:59] * Missile_Rush would say that Razor is one to talk.
[15:59] <TenMihara|GM> Razor hears a beep as she steps on a dust covered mine
 [16:01] <TenMihara|GM> Razor manages to kick the mine away as it beeps, giving it some distance, but it still goes off after a moment, pelting her with shrapnel and heat.
 [16:05] <TenMihara|GM> The dark interior of the store is briefly lit up, and Razor can hear the sound of splintering wood and the twang of something breaking.
[16:06] * Proverb groans as she watches this. "Idiot..." She mumbles, before moving forwards and poking her head in the door, hovering. "You alright Razor?" She asks, rifle at the ready.
 [16:07] * Razor flinches slightly, getting stung but not really hurt. She doesn't pay the other ponies any mind. She's about to say something, but at the sound of something breaking, she lights up her horn to get a better look.
[16:07] * Green_Field chuckles softly. "Better a living foal than a dead moron."
[16:08] <TenMihara|GM> The interior of the store is lit up but Razor's hornlight. Or at least, the main room is. She can see a metal shelf bent double from the explosion, and splinters that might once have been a display table
[16:10] <TenMihara|GM> The Strip Mall, aside from the Stable-Tec outlet, contains a small grocery store, three wrecked vending machines (Ironshod Ammo Imporium, Sparkle~Cola and Sunrise Sarsaparilla respectively), a burned out bookstore, and a post office
[16:12] * Razor gives a look around, and, seeing nothing really interesting, carefully makes her way over to the broken vending machines and attempts to see if she can get them open. If there's still some cola left, she'd gladly take it.
[16:13] <TenMihara|GM> The machines have already been pried open and emptied, although she finds one solitary bottle cap that was overlooked in the Sparkle~Cola machine
[16:14] * Proverb glides inside the building after Razor, before turning around and landing carefully. She attempts to disarm the tripwire.
[16:14] * Green_Field looks at Proverb and Purple Kay. "We just following or clearing out the other traps?"
[16:15] <TenMihara|GM> Purple_Kay lets Proverb get the tripwire first, then he would try for the grenades
[16:16] <TenMihara|GM> Proverb cuts the tripwire, and somehow the grenades slide gently to the floor right in front of Purple_Kay's hooves.
[16:16] <TenMihara|GM> Purple_Kay shrugs and collects them
[16:17] * Proverb giggles, grinning at Kay, before turning around and looking over the room herself.
[16:18] * Razor grumbles about the lack of cola.
[16:18] * Logic follows the rest of them. "Do you think there might be a terminal here?" He whispers, trying to get out of sight without hitting any more traps.
[16:18] * Logic gives Razor one of his.
[16:19] <TenMihara|GM> The store has been looted before, with almost nothing substantial visible. However, there is a terminal one the ocunter next to the empty register, and a safe in the floor.
[16:19] * Razor doesn't want one of Logic's! She wants free cola of her own that she nabbed herself!
[16:20] * Green_Field heads in once it's safe for Daisy.
[16:21] <TenMihara|GM> Daisy follows behind, looking around curiously.
[16:21] <TenMihara|GM> There's also a door leading to a rear storage room, presently ajar.
[16:23] * Harmony keeps in the back, readying her rifle if it is needed...
[16:24] * Proverb moves towards the door at the rear, her pistol out. She reaches a hoof out, and shoves it open fully, aiming her pistol inside.
[16:24] <TenMihara|GM> The storage room is completely empty. The shelves have been stripped of anything and everything.
[16:25] * Logic narrows his eyes. No. Way too easy. Every step that he takes is triple checked for traps anywhere where there could be a trap, staying near the corner of the way up to it. Keep steady. Keep steady.
[16:25] * Proverb lets her pistol drop with a sigh, turning back to Missile_Rush. "What are we looking for again Missile?"
[16:30] * Razor gives a sigh and looks around for something interesting in this boring place.
[16:31] <TenMihara|GM> Razor would have noticed the three other stores
[16:32] * Razor thinks the three other stores can go buck themselves. Nothing interesting there.
[16:36] * Logic slowly creeps up upon the terminal, then examines it for tampering and the area for traps.
[16:36] <TenMihara|GM> There are no traps by the terminal, but it's been locked out by a failed hacking attempt. As well, the safe has a broken bobby pin stuck in the lock. It would take someone more familiar with lockpicking to see if it was jammed, or just stuck.
[16:40] * Proverb comes trotting over to where the safe was, frowning slightly. "Well... someone did a pretty poor job at this..." She attempts to check to see if it was jammed or simply had a bobby pin stuck in it.
[16:46] <TenMihara|GM> Proverb manages to clear the bobby pin, and can confirm that whoever did this only thought it was jammed, but she still has a chance to get it open.
[16:50] <TenMihara|GM> Proverb gets the Safe open on the second attempt. Inside she finds something unique. It's a Pipbuck, but unlike other examples of the arcanotech hoof device, this one is pristine; in immaculate condition. It's engraved with what looks like a cutie mark, the edges of the engraving gilded.
[16:50] * Proverb blinks at the PipBuck, picking it up and looking it over. "Hey Logic... come look at this."
[16:51] <TenMihara|GM> As well, on the inside of the cuff, the initials 'G - M.A.S.'
[16:57] * Logic gets just to where the terminal was... And then it turns out that the damn thing is locked, anyway. Well, fudge. He almost gave up, but sometimes things can turn out serendipitous. He wanders over to where the Pipbuck was, and then his eyes light up. He all but bumps Proverb out of the way. "Ho. Ly. Shit. Proverb, do you know what you just found?" He starts to click through the logs and...
[16:57] * Logic ...options of the thing.
[16:58] * Proverb blinks at Logic. "A PipBuck? Is it important?"
[16:58] <TenMihara|GM> There is a -lot- of data on this Pipbuck, but almost all of it is locked using a unique dual-matrix incription
[17:02] * Logic 's eyes are wide open. "Yes. Yes, it is /very/ important." He just guffaws at the damned thing. He just found gold in a mini-mart. "It's a pipbuck!"
[17:08] * Logic goes back to the terminal and clickity-clacks madly on it. "Omygoshohmygoshomygosh this is the best thing ever. Happy cuteceniera to me!" He has never looked so excitedly happy in all of the experience of being around the party.
[17:09] * Harmony snickers.
 [17:11] * Proverb giggles, smiling at Logic. She looks over at Harmony when she snickers and smiles at her, before returning her focus on Logic.
[17:11] <TenMihara|GM> Logic has a bit of a struggle with this terminal, but just barely manages to crack it without re-initiating the lockdown
 [17:12] * Logic can't believe he almost tripped the lock again. His hooves were just shaking so much and... Oh wow. Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow.
[17:14] <TenMihara|GM> The terminal seems to be mostly full up with business information, but one of the files is flagged with a dual incription matching those on the Pipbuck.
[17:15] <TenMihara|GM> The encription could be broken by downloading the file from both sources. One of the files in the Pipbuck matched the name for the one on  the terminal with that encription.
[17:17] * Razor goes to find a bench somewhere to go lie down on while everypony did all the boring stuff.
[17:19] * Logic looks giddy when he takes the pipbuck, gingerly, ever gingerly, and attempted to plug it into the terminal to decrypt the damned file. Okay. Okay. Okay.
[17:22] <TenMihara|GM> With a bit of whirring, the file displays on the terminal. It's labeled top secret.
[17:22] * Missile_Rush frowns, watching all this intently as he looks at the file.
[17:23] * Logic opens the file. "Woo! We got ourselves a top secret file, fillies and gentlecolts!" He exclaimed in a bad farmer's accent.
[17:23] <Missile_Rush> "The question is, what's on it?"
[17:26] <TenMihara|GM> The file just seems to be a journal entry by the owner of the store. "Had a big surprise today when one of the M.A.S. bigwigs showed up at my door today. Apparently my little out of the way shop was chosen to keep something secret and safe. Gestalt, second only to Twilight Sparkle herself, along with her sister Mosaic, came here and gave me specific instructions to keep her personal Pipbuck hidden away. I was skeptical at
[17:29] <TenMihara|GM> -I was skeptical at first, but I wasn't about to pry into top secret ministry business. Especially with the rather nice incentive I was paid for it."
[17:31] <TenMihara|GM> "Apparently Mosaic left her Pipbuck someplace else, and the only way to get at any of the information they've been working with would be to have both Pipbucks. I guess they'll come get them at some point, but for now I'll just keep it in the safe. I used some of that incentive to make sure it was a top notch one, since I can't afford to lose out on this."
[17:32] * Logic clicks the "next" button.
[17:32] <TenMihara|GM> There was only the one file that was on the terminal and the Pipbuck together. They don't share anything else
[17:33] * Logic clicks on it. Fuck!
[17:33] * Logic shakes his head and looks at the pristine bastard. Look at it. It's a masterpiece. "Should I... Should I put my leg in it?"
[17:36] * Logic stallions up and, albeit hesitantly, puts his leg in it.
 [17:40] <TenMihara|GM> The Pipbuck seems to automatically adjust to fit Logic's leg perfectly as he slips it in, although now he lacks the tools required to get it off. The Pipbuck screen flashes. 'New User Detected. Reset to Defaults? Y/N'
[17:41] * Logic very notably says "N". Best not wipe the darned thing before he's done decrypting the files on it.
[17:43] <TenMihara|GM> 'WARNING! Encrypted files detected. Use of experimental or unauthorized encryptions voids product warranty. Deleted Flagged files? Y/N
[17:43] <TenMihara|GM> *Delete
[17:45] * Logic is not impressed by encrypted file hangups. "N".
[17:46] <TenMihara|GM> The Pipbuck bleeps and returns to its normal display. However, another thing pops up. 'New user, would you like to listen to the tutorial recording?'
[17:48] * Logic sighs. "Y". Yeah, new operating system. Let's see what it has to say.
[17:53] <TenMihara|GM> A tutorial recording comes out, the voice of Sweetie Belle, the public face of Stable-Tec orating. "Welcome to your new model ST-340 Pipbuck portable arcano device. Please follow the onscreen prompts as you are instructed in the use of your new Pipbuck. We hope you enjoy your new Pipbuck." It then, with corresponding prompts on screen, talks Logic through a number of the Pipbuck's features, including the radio, data storage
[17:53] * Logic proceeds to go through the tutorial. "Yup, we got it. Let's, uh. Let's do the thing. We were supposed to do."
[17:55] * Logic seems extremely distracted, nodding faintly at Missile_Rush.
 [18:11] <RadioHooves> Missile looks intrigued, though he nods. "Our work is done. Let's get going."
[18:14] <RadioHooves> Missile, to clarify, has been watching Logic work quietly from the sides. He can indeed confirm it is what they came for.
