  1. Time has no beginning nor end. Yet, the beginning, for us, is when the god Baruriel had died and gave birth to many other gods, allowing them to shape our world as we know it. Baruriel is known as the first god to us, even though he existed in a time before even our own gods were created. His body held in the worlds within, giving it life and regulating everything. The sun and moons were his eyes. The worlds he created, his heart. He needed nothing more, nothing less.
  2.
  3. Yet, as time went on, the worlds gradually withered away. As they became more and more inhabitible, Baruiel became more and more ill and fragile. Storms raged upon the skies with every sneeze. The earth shook with every cough. His creations died as his body began to fail. At one point, he realized he would not last much longer, as the worlds were crumbling and his health was beginning to fail him. So, before his death, he gave birth to what would become the members of Levia’s pantheon. They alone, as mere children, saw his eyes close. They alone witnessed the worlds crumbling to nothing. His body collapsed into itself and destroyed the world as it was once known, leaving the godlings with nothing.

  5. Saddened by their father’s death, the godlings were determined to craft a world of their own. Yursarsh, God of Gods, used his might to create the world, barren, dark, and full of volcanic activity. Yuran, God of Light, created the sun and brought light into the world, and his sister and Goddess of Darkness, Ursula, created the moon and brought forth shade. Axanon, God of Fire, tamed the volcanic landscape as Eriel, Goddess of Water, formed the oceans and seas. Zephyr, God of Winds, and Terra, Goddess of Earth, worked together to form the ground below and the skies above. It took years to create just one world, but a few years is merely a blink of an eye to immortal beings.

  7. The gods admired their work and, to finish it off, they created heaven, a place for them to stay and watch the world from above. Then they realized that nothing but the smallest of life forms aside from themselves existed on their earth. Yursarsh, as the leader, allowed the other gods to create races to their own tastes to inhabit their world. Axanon formed the first lizardlike beings, the Dragons, giagantic in size with sharp teeth, bright eyes, wings to dominate the skies, and breath so hot, it would melt the bones of their enemies. Eriel formed the Undines: a mostly female race that were half fish, half man. Yuran created the Faries, first known as little balls of light with wings. Ursula, scoffing at her brother’s small creation, used her magick to create the Tieflings: Demonic-looking entities with large horns and a long tail, skin dark as crimson, eyes bright as gems, power-hungry and thirsty for knowledge. Zephyr spared no moment to create the Harpies, with body of a women and wings and legs of a bird.

  9. All watched as their races interacted with one another, yet noticed that Terra had not created a race of her own. “Why is it that you do not join us?” asked Zephyr. “Do you not wish to make one?”
  10.
  11. “I’m thinking on it,” she replied as she crossed her arms.
  12.
  13. “Perhaps you could make creatures out of stone?” Axonon quipped. “Call them the golems.”
  14.
  15. Ursula suggested, “Something sturdy, something that can survive the elements. After all, most of these things cannot survive outside of certain places, aside from the Tieflings and Dragons.”
  16.
  17. Terra thought and thought before taking two clumps of earth and shaping them. She then blessed them with blood and bone. She had formed the first humans, and soon after, the giants. The gods were satisfied with Terra’s work and celebrated with a feast. Yursarsh, however, kept himself busy by using his powers to form the Gods of Life and Death. It would ease the burden of him regulating the cycles. All of these gods were to make up the council, as they watched earth from the heavens.
  18.
  19. Some of the gods mated with one another and made children. Once they were old enough, they took on an aspect to be covered of their own will, and became a full fledged god. Their population grew slowly, but now, the pantheon is large enough to fill a part of heaven. The council are the most acknowledged gods of them all, but that does not prevent others from being worshipped by smaller churches and cults.
