FoE RPG G0-2 - #002 A Dark and Stormy Night

[20:17]<SpiritOfFate>	Group 0-II: *Freedom's Price* - Session #002 starts now

[20:20]<SpiritOfFate>	The day passes as the ponies discuss their approach regarding the arriving slaves. Time does not wait and soon they must prepare for action. It is now night in Asinam, the slaver ship nears the coast.
[20:32]?	Royal_Lace sends ponies who are willing to fetch her full staff from Nebulous laps with information to bring any information pertinant to developments with there aviation development over her months absent.
[20:33]?	Sotho sighs lightly as he stretches, speaking to his own resident spirit of hope
[20:33]<Sotho>	"How is your day today?"
[20:35]?	Ignis is flipping between comms, mainly going to and fro the silver anchor channels and the railroad one, and more rarely, eavesdropping on that shady one... he needed more info on the double.
[20:42]<SpiritOfFate>	The Silver Anchor frequency seems either silent or taken over by noise. The sky is completely covered in dark clouds and you can hear lightning striking outside.
[20:44]<SpiritOfFate>	The Nebulous staff arrives, guided by Swiss_Provolone, carrying complete plans for a cloud-lifted skyship
[20:44]?	Ignis curses under his breath...at least they would have trouble organizing their fighters with the comms being subjected to storm interference
[20:45]?	Swiss_Provolone gives a salute to Royal_Lace after shaking off some of the rain, "You called ma'am?"
[20:46]<SpiritOfFate>	The old spirit noticed the awful weather, but pointed out that there will be a beautiful clear night after the storm
[20:46]<SpiritOfFate>	It is a dark and stormy night
[20:46]?	Royal_Lace nods, "Yes, though when I said my full staff I didnt mean... well in any case im gald you are here as we need every able bodies pony willing to fight that we can. Nebulous staff we have work to do". Lace gives swiss over to the others and starts assesing how things have progressed.
[20:48]?	Firefly looks up at the sky as she finishes putting on her Batmare suit. "Well, at least I have plenty of clouds to use as cover..." The filly puts the mask on, leaving the night vision off for the time being.
[20:48]?	Royal_Lace makes introductions to those who needed though a few have probably seen him as they have come and gone from the Nebulous labs.
[20:49]<SpiritOfFate>	The ship isn't usable yet (it's state of completion depends on the Payroll you didn't do)
[20:49]?	Sotho nods lightly to Swiss. "So what is my role in this mission?"
[20:49]?	Swiss_Provolone cocks an eyebrow "Preparing for a fight? Is the town going to be attacked?"
[20:50]?	Ignis takes off his earphones, sighs and eyes at the commotion. "No luck, its all distortion off...fucking weather"
[20:51]?	Royal_Lace gives Bubble popper and Star Chaser a breif debreifing of the current situation, of the slaves in need, and the need to move them once their guards are taken care of. She opens the floor for suggestions with the thought of flying in a prefilled baloon to float the ship away.
[20:52]?	The_Batmare flies over to where the others are gathered, landing nearby. The filly is wearing dark armor with wingblades, brass shoes and a zebrican bat mask. Her coat and mane are covered in dark fabric to further conceal her features. "I think the weather is lovely for destroying evil." The filly deepens her voice to try and disguise it.
[20:53]?	Ignis rolls his eyes. "Or catching a cold...that's probably the reason why the batmare always has a hoarse voice all the time."
[20:54]?	The_Batmare growls "So, where are these slaves that need rescuing?"
[20:54]?	Sotho snerks lightly and chuckles at Ignis's comment
[20:54]<SpiritOfFate>	The night ticks closer to the next day, little by little
[20:56]?	The_Batmare taps a hoof against the ground, waiting for the information.
[20:58]<SpiritOfFate>	The scientists say they could manage a baloon, but it wouldn''t be practical to take what they have of the ship along.
[21:00]?	Royal_Lace proposes the thought of bringing only part of the ship along, after they have been freed teh ship could be heavily lightened and cut down with teh aid of magic, she also asks if they could think of any other means of transporting 50 ponies quickly, she can teleport some but not all.
[21:00]<SpiritOfFate>	Tamara looks at the dangerous sky, gathering the troops she can manage
[21:00]<Sotho>	"I'm not quite sure about the location nor my role in this."
[21:02]<Ignis>	"Dunno, maybe asking the spirits for a ferry to them...so they would ride the river styx of the underworld over the souls of the damned and such, towards freedom..." He grins. "Okay, maybe that's a bit of a stretch...maybe...distraction or something along that line?"
[21:04]?	Sotho shrugs. "I'm pretty sure you're getting many different mythos confused but yes maybe a distraction."
[21:05]?	Swiss_Provolone taps his chin, "We did something like that in a caravan a few months ago. I stayed in Raider territory and kept 'em preoccupied while the wagons high-tailed it out of there. Risky though, one wrong move and well, I ain't coming back."
[21:05]?	Royal_Lace switches gears. If they could not then find an easy way to air lift them across the city safely instead she proposes the idea of using Cloud generators to make a moble smoke screen to mask them as they cross the city to the mound.
[21:07]<SpiritOfFate>	Tamara approaches the group, with troops of her own following her. "We are ready. Do you have a plan yet?"
[21:07]<SpiritOfFate>	The scientists nod to each other. That would be possible if they put the cloud generator on your car.
[21:07]?	Ignis leans his arms on the table. "Couldn't we sail the boat off to open sea...and then take the scenic route towards a more or less safe port?"
[21:08]?	The_Batmare paces. "I don't know. I'm fond of getting a hoof on the ship and, after rescuing the slaves, blowing it up. That will stop the slave trade cold."
[21:08]?	Royal_Lace points to the others, "I will be working with our lab technitions to get the car set up with a cloud generator for a mobile smoke screen for our escape back to the mound. For the attack I leave you in there hooves".
[21:09]<SpiritOfFate>	Tamara smiles to The_Batmare filly. "It may at least slow it down."
[21:10]?	The_Batmare nods. "Then lets go capture a ship."
[21:10]<Ignis>	"Its just a hunk of steel, they'll find their way around the loss..."
[21:12]?	Sotho shrugs. "You'd be surprised how hard it is to come across working vehicles."
[21:12]<Swiss_Provolone>	"Indeed, but anything that slows down a bunch of slavers is a good thing in my book."
[21:13]?	The_Batmare nods. "And it takes more resources than most to completely build a ship."
[21:14]<Ignis>	"Yeah, yeah...I'm just thinking that...well...I don't wish that we focus way too much on this and leave ourselves exposed to other threats..."
[21:14]<SpiritOfFate>	"It's going to be better defended, we can count on that. How do we take over it?" Tamara says
[21:15]?	Swiss_Provolone nods to his hunting rifle "I can go far out and provide some long range support, but if theres more slavers than you can handle close up it could be problematic."
[21:15]?	Sotho thinks.
[21:16]<Sotho>	"Any way we might be able to infiltrate the ship?
[21:16]?	The_Batmare shrugs. "We either wait for it dock or most of you are swimming."
[21:17]<Ignis>	"I can deal with them up personal..." The dragon grins, tucking his shotguns. "As long as we can get them away from the slaves..."
[21:19]?	Swiss_Provolone sits and thinks as well, "If you get me on there I can sneak around. But I have no idea of the layout, the security or anything on there. I'd be sneaking blind, plus I'm not sure what I could do there besides off a few slavers."
[21:22]<SpiritOfFate>	"If we are going to hide use the cloud machine there, we must hide it now near the location, or they will notice it arriving." Tamara looks at Ignis. "The local slavers will approach the boat after the sunrise, correct?"
[21:24]?	Ignis nods. "Indeed, as it says on the log I handed over to you." The dragon comments. "Of course that there is the possibility they might change plans...but I can't know for sure with the thunderstorm screwing up the radio."
[21:25]?	The_Batmare looks to the others. "If we can get control of the ship, we can change its course. Then the local slavers will think that one's transporting the slaves took their cargo, and it will cause chaos between the set. But, we need to go tonight. The storm will prevent any communications between the two."
[21:26]<Ignis>	"He hasn't mentioned a time where he would show up tommorow...but the trigger to disembark is the representative showing up."
[21:28]?	Swiss_Provolone nods "I'm ready to go when you are." he replies to the filly before turning to Ignis, "Do we know who their representative is?"
[21:29]?	Ignis shrugs. "Beats me...from what I heard into the radio, its a pony...but that doesn't exactly narrow down any much."
[21:32]?	The_Batmare stretches her wings. "Alright then. How are you all going to get out there? Are you taking the truck, or do I need to provide transport?"
[21:36]?	Swiss_Provolone looks down at the filly, "You're strong enough to fly a wagon full of ponies?"
[21:38]?	The_Batmare snorts. "I'm the Batmare."
[21:39]?	Swiss_Provolone just chuckles and shakes his head, "All right then."
[22:11]<SpiritOfFate>	---
[22:16]<SpiritOfFate>	Rain falls, lightnings  flash through the dark night. To the group's advantage, it's hard to hear the pickup running on the muddy road. You move down the road, past Freedom Mound, past the train staton, towards the docks on the coast, by the river. The cloud generator is on the back, ready to go.
[22:18]?	Sotho keeps as quiet as he can, trying not to shine bright like a diamond
[22:19]?	The_Batmare flies above the truck, keeping it in sight.
[22:21]?	Swiss_Provolone checks the load on his rifle, muttering to himself as he looks at the horizon
[22:26]<SpiritOfFate>	Firefly spots the fenced area with the port and the warehouse. There are two griffin already here, just by the warehouse. They didn't notice anypony yet
[22:29]?	The_Batmare looks to her mother. "I see two."
[22:31]<SpiritOfFate>	Her mother nods. "Tell the others, I will watch them."
[22:33]?	The_Batmare frowns. "We could take them out. I can provide cover for you to sneak in, and then we drop them."
[22:42]<SpiritOfFate>	"I only have grenades, they would call too much attention. We don't have to rush in, Firefly."  She shakes her head
[22:44]?	The_Batmare sighs. "Yes mom..." The filly looks up at the storm before flying back to warn the others.
[22:47]?	The_Batmare flies back to the truck, flying along the passenger side. She taps on the window.
[22:48]?	Sotho glances to said window
[22:48]?	Swiss_Provolone looks up from his rifle, slinging it back on
[22:48]?	Ignis rolls down the window as to listen up to the filly
[22:49]<The_Batmare>	"Two griffins on duty. No sign of slaves. Heading back."
[22:49]?	The_Batmare flies off.
[22:51]?	Ignis breathes in the humid rainy air... "The devil is into the wait..." The dragon mutters. "Anyways, just keep your eyesockets open if a convo closes in...the quicker we do this, the best."
[22:52]?	Swiss_Provolone nods, looking down the road, "Guess they can't hear or see us through the storm, but should we do anything about them?"
[22:52]?	Sotho gives a quiet nod, trying to think what to do
[22:54]<SpiritOfFate>	Tamara chimes in. "Snipe them and take their uniforms."
[22:58]?	Swiss_Provolone "Sure thing Ma'am" he says as he unslings his rifle, muttering to himself "slavers haven't exactly earned my mercy..."
[22:59]?	Ignis parks the wheels behind the rock, keeping his speed down."Alright guys...its a plan."
[23:00]?	Swiss_Provolone hops out of the vehicle as it stops and attachs the bipod while getting into a stable sniping position
[23:05]?	Sotho nods as he adjusts his ceastus. "Understood We should strike quickly, but first." He moves away and quietly starts to say something
[23:10]?	Ignis takes in his portable broadcaster and tried to pick up the silver anchor comms once more...maybe the short distance would favor him now.
[23:16]?	Swiss_Provolone takes a moment to cast Combat Precognition, Night Vision and Target on his... targets before lining up his shot and pulling the trigger
[23:31]<SpiritOfFate>	The bullet pierces the griffon's skull and he falls on a pool of his own blood.
[23:32]<SpiritOfFate>	Through the rain and darkness, the second one is none the wiser
[23:38]<SpiritOfFate>	The second guard falls, unconscious and bleeding, but still alive.
[23:39]?	The_Batmare smiles and drags the griffin away.
[23:39]<SpiritOfFate>	Their portable radio falls on the dirt
[23:40]?	The_Batmare grabs the radio as well. Cause information!
[23:40]?	Ignis finally gives up trying to pick something and looks at Lace and Tamara. "That doesn't seem too right...only two sentinels while they're expecting a cargo of slaves? The boat itself should probably be brimmed with resisteance."
[23:41]<SpiritOfFate>	Falling Snow flies to Firefly and helps her carry the griffon.
[23:41]?	Sotho moves. "Should we hurry while they are down?"
[23:43]?	Swiss_Provolone stands back up and puts the hunting rifle on his back with a grin "Never had a chance."
[23:43]?	Ignis shrugs and opens up the door. "Still, we need somepony to watch over the car...."
[23:43]<SpiritOfFate>	"The bulk of their forces should arrive closer to the time. Those guards must have been stationed there as routine security." Tamara says.
[23:44]?	The_Batmare smiles after moving the griffin into the bushes, listening to the radio.
[23:44]?	Royal_Lace nods, "Well I am capable of holding the truck if need be"
[23:45]<SpiritOfFate>	The frequency it's in is mostly noise due to the storm;
[23:45]?	Sotho glances to Lace. "If you're sure about that...."
[23:45]?	Ignis smiles. "Alright, I'll go check on the two...just be careful Lace, okay?"
[23:46]?	Royal_Lace nods and smiles, "Of course"
[23:46]?	The_Batmare shrugs and flies over to Ignis, giving the radio to him.
[23:47]?	Ignis takes the radio...and listens to it, trying to pick up something...it was probably some shortwave handheld device, if it was functioning during the storm was certainly dubious, though...
[23:48]?	The_Batmare goes and gets the griffin off the dock.
[23:49]?	Swiss_Provolone trots over to Ignis "Find anything?"
[23:49]<SpiritOfFate>	The noise seem to be too much to listen to anything in the small device
[23:50]?	Ignis grunts something as he is unable to get the frequency right, so he just holds into the radio. "Nah."
[23:50]?	The_Batmare flies over to the Warehouse and peeks through the windows. Maybe the boat has already been and gone?
[23:50]?	Ignis moves over to the warehouse
[23:51]<SpiritOfFate>	The warehouse is still empty
[23:51]?	Swiss_Provolone follows Ignis with his pistol drawn
[23:52]?	Sotho follows his party closely
[23:52]?	Ignis kneels onto the wet ground and rifles into the guard's belongings
[23:52]<SpiritOfFate>	Firefly spots a light in the horizon.
[23:53]?	The_Batmare blinks. "What's that?" Batmare points to the light on the horizon.
[23:55]?	Sotho glances up to the light, squinting and trying to see better
[23:55]?	Swiss_Provolone looks around, but even his night vision is failing him in this storm
[23:56]<SpiritOfFate>	It's just over the surface of the sea, it might be the ship
[23:56]?	The_Batmare looks to the others. "I'm going to check and see if that's the ship. I'll be back quickly."
[23:57]?	Ignis turns over the griffon's pockets...it had to be there...
[23:57]?	Swiss_Provolone nods and tries to keep watch over the area
[23:59]<SpiritOfFate>	Ignis finds a flare gun
[00:00]?	Sotho tries to keep himself covered and ready to strke when he is needed
[00:00]?	Ignis takes it and moves into the wharf itself...it should be pitch black.
[00:01]?	The_Batmare flies out toward the light, staying high above the rocky sea.
[00:01]<SpiritOfFate>	He can find his way to the wharf through the darkness
[00:02]<SpiritOfFate>	Flying towards the light, The_Batmare can make out the shape of a ship from afar
[00:02]?	Ignis points the gun to the skies and fires once, quickly stepping back into the shades as the light went
[00:03]?	The_Batmare flies in closer, to get a better eye on the ship's defenses.
[00:03]?	Swiss_Provolone hides as well, taking out his binoculars to scan where the filly went
[00:08]<SpiritOfFate>	The_Batmare spots 6 armed crewmember on the upper deck, as well as a mounted machinegun on the front and a harpoon gun on the back
[00:09]?	The_Batmare flies back to the others. Because while she is The Batmare, the Batmare still does not like high-velocity metal poisoning.
[00:09]<SpiritOfFate>	Ignis hears a voice among the noise of the radio.
[00:10]?	Ignis listens to the radio
[00:10]<SpiritOfFate>	Ignis manages to tune into the frequency through the storm.
[00:11]?	Ignis listens on the channel
[00:17]<SpiritOfFate>	<-bzzt- A.P.S. Misfortune awaiting instructions. I repeat, this A.P.S. Misfortune awaiting instructions.. Come in.> Ignis hears a pony speaking through radio
[00:22]?	Ignis whirs on his radio and relays a reply, filling in with gaps and intereference, and quite modulating his voice...he could quitely blame it on the storm. "Roger Mis...bzzzt! ...the... flare indicates the dropspot,,,bzzzt..." He holds his claw over the mic, taking deliberate pauses. "Repeat, Misfortune...inter...of climatic nat...the flare indicates...bzzzt."
[00:32]<SpiritOfFate>	<Got it. Signal is 3 by 4. Your signal is bad. The instructions were to await until morning. Why the change? Over.>
[00:38]?	Ignis keeps at it, they were almost... "bzzzt...opy Misfortune, client request... that droptime put into advance..bbzzzt!" The dragon tries his best to change his tone a number of times...indeed, his signal was terrible. "....relay instructions to proceed to the unloading, repeat...base ordered that....bzzzt!"
[00:44]<SpiritOfFate>	<Copy. Why weren't we told about it before? Over.>
[00:47]?	Ignis cringes his teeth. "Over...bzzzt...meant to radio...climatic...last-minute arrangement...bzzzt!" He glares at the horizon. "...and low visibility....bzzzt! how are you holding up there, misfortune?"
[00:50]<SpiritOfFate>	<Not good. High tides.> The pony pauses. <Moving to dock. Over.>
[00:51]?	Ignis whistles to the others to signalize the barge's coming, the ships was still a-ways off...so it was probably off earshot...
[00:51]<SpiritOfFate>	Meanwhile Full Physical's hooves soak in seawater who leaked into the wobbling ship.
[00:52]<SpiritOfFate>	Firefly sees the ship turning towards the wharf.
[00:52]?	Swiss_Provolone lowers the binoculars and quietly says to Ignis, "How do you want to handle this?"
[00:54]?	Full_Physical tries to move away from the water without stepping on anyone
[00:54]?	Ignis "Over and out." He says to the radio and turns it off. then, the dragon sighs. "We wait for them to dock, then we just off anypony...of anygriffin...who is wearing silver anchor armor...doesn't really get any simpler than that..." He looks over to Firefly. "Unless...there's anything else to it...?"
[00:57]?	Swiss_Provolone nods "Got it. I'll get in position." he says before turning to the shadows and galloping off
[01:02]?	Swiss_Provolone quickly teleports onto the roof and lies prone over its peak with the rifle ready for the slaver's arrival
[01:06]<CrystalGM>	The Batmare stays hidden in the clouds for now, staying in the clouds above the wharf.
[01:07]?	Ignis prepares his weapon and skulks into the shadows...awaiting the boat's arrival
[01:08]?	Sotho prepares himself to be ready to strike down anypony that comes his way
