  1. L: Aloha. I have so many questions. Can you please send an email to guy@email.com? :)
  2.
  3. L: Hey! If you emailed me I must not have gotten it. If this is the case, please shoot me a mail at guy@email.com. Thanks! :)
  4.
  5. Exciting Books: Sorry, what's this regarding?
  6.
  7. L: Hi! Sorry. I'm wondering about the person you spoke with that commissioned these designs. Approximately when did they first contact you? :)
  8.
  9. Exciting Books: Do I know you?
  10.
  11. L: No, but I'm a fan of your designs. Nice to meet you.
  12.
  13. Exciting Books: Thanks. I assume you've been talking with the other guy I was just talking with. As I just told him a minute ago, it's been like 10 years.
  14.
  15. Exciting Books: Roughly, I'm not sure exactly, but I just recently decided to post some of the work.
  16.
  17. L: Interesting. Yes, I'm a friend of the guy you talked with (however we haven't spoken for a few hours now). They are nice designs.
  18.
  19. L: Would you be willing to part with the name or email (or partial email) of the person who contracted you to do these designs?
  20.
  21. L: Moreover, were you given any insight into the purpose or meaning of the designs you created for this person?
  22.
  23. Exciting Books: I wouldn't feel right sharing the contact info, sorry. As far as insight/meaning, it was basically "riff off of these styles".
  24.
  25. Exciting Books: And as I mentioned to your friend, I started from titles, barcode .pses, and a few sample pictures and went from there.
  26.
  27. L: I understand. Interesting. Were you also given the ISBN? There is a disparity between the ISBNs and barcodes we've noticed. Thank you btw!
  28.
  29. L: And would you be willing to part with the .ps files or perhaps contact-info-redacted communications you had with him/her?
  30.
  31. Exciting Books: I guess I never really paid much attention to the contents of the ps files, I just stuck them in. It's possible I stuck the wrong one on the
  32.
  33. Exciting Books: wrong book, but I didn't modify the barcode areas. What makes you interested in the ps files?
  34.
  35. L: Well, in the game we play, information is doled out very cautiously. Nobody's perfect, but even the smallest piece of info can be important.
  36.
  37. L: We know actually very, very little about the people or person running the game. We're actually not 100% sure it's a game.
  38.
  39. L: So even the smallest piece of information could lead us to the next clue, the next important piece of the puzzle.
  40.
  41. L: I understand you not wanting to give out the contact info. I asked for the other information simply because it could contain important data.
  42.
  43. Exciting Books: I'm afraid I don't really have any insight into what's going on, I just designed a bunch of book covers based on titles and some samples.
  44.
  45. Exciting Books: I assume otp22.referata com is your website?
  46.
  47. L: Okay, understood. Is there any information at all you would feel okay mentioning about the person/people who contracted these designs?
  48.
  49. L: Well, it's a community effort, not any one person's, but yes, that's our wiki.
  50.
  51. L: If you use IRC, we are on Freenode in #ARG.
  52.
  53. Exciting Books: Sorry, I don't share business correspondence with unrelated parties period, sorry.
  54.
  55. L: Do you have examples of other work you've done for other clients? A website with your portfolio, for example? Or a link to equivalent info?
  56.
  57. Exciting Books: Sorry dude, you're creeping me out.
