  1. [21:40] <@zoofman> remind me again what saryx's biggest item on the agenda is atm
  2. [21:41] <@zoofman> I know you got a few things but confused where you wanna start
  3. 01[21:42] <Saryx> There's the "Just dicking around helping people around town with his 'For Hire' flyers", but I'd think learning how to into Dream World would be more important.
  4. [21:47] <@zoofman> The temple is a fairly open place. One could find the elder sages quite easily, normally on the roof, staring into the sun in meditation. Lower levels tend to be composed of several more moderately aged folks teaching the new arrivals. The new arrivals are by far the
  5. [21:47] <@zoofman> most varied in age
  6. [21:48] <@zoofman> Nothing really seems strictly enforced here though...long as you do SOMETHING, what's Saryx trying to do at the moment?
  7. 01[21:54] <Saryx> Well, let's just try and figure out what there is to do here first. He'd probably start by at least looking around where the other pupils are, see what's going on there. He's gonna be here a while. Might as well find himself a new hobby!
  8. 01[21:54] <Saryx> One that's not as expensive as blacksmithing.
  9. [21:57] <@zoofman> Quick look around the temple shows there's basically 3 'groups' of new folks
  10. [21:58] <@zoofman> One are very young children, probably prodigies or were born here. They seem to be a bit more focused and directed by a couple of matrons of sort that watch over them, and generally stick to the bottom floor.
  11. [21:59] <@zoofman> The second are a bit older than yourself and tend to have a bunch of more manual labory chores to do in addition to starting lessons.
  12. [21:59] <@zoofman> The third...well, are pretty old and experienced in life and keep to themselves a bit. You get the feeling those guys are escaping from something, or sort of had some mid/late life crisis that led to their being here.
  13. 01[22:03] <Saryx> So little kids, laborers, or fossils. ... Tough decision. Considering the kids seem legitimately interested and that it seems like they WANT to do it, if not are having FUN doing it, Saryx has a legitimate temptation to ask to sit in with them. ... But then reconsiders out of self-consciousness. ... So yeah, to the manual labor. He's got a feeling he's gonna be sore all over by the end of this ;_;
  14. [22:05] <@zoofman> You basically get roped into helping with doing laundry. As you are carrying a stack of linen through the hallway...roll athletics for me.
  15. 01[22:05] <Saryx> 3d6+1 Wait, THIS is what he got roped into? WHAT?!?
  16. [22:05] <DiceMaid-9001> Saryx, Wait, THIS is what he got roped into? WHAT?!?: 11 [3d6=3,3,4]
  17. [22:06] <@zoofman> You successfully don't drop anything as you round a corner right into Mr. Jenks. "...Kid, what the hell are you doin with a buncha sheets?"
  18. 01[22:10] <Saryx> *Bump* Saryx' expression probably says it all, having been looking at the sheets with a quizzical expression plastered upon his face, the kind that's like '... What the hell am I even doing?!?' He actually has a verbal component to add in, though, as he looks up to Jenks. "Oh, Mr. Jenks! ... I was looking around the temple, and figured since I was gonna be here a while, I might as well get myself involved with something." He looks back down at the sheets, a look of disdain on his face for them. "... I think I should've thought about that more before jumping headfirst into it, though."
  19. [22:11] <@zoofman> "I was actually lookin' for ya cause I -had- a job in mind for you. One I think you'd like. Drop those at the first damn linen closet you see n' c'mon."
  20. 01[22:12] <Saryx> "... The little kids seemed to be enjoying studying. Kinda wanted to ask to join in, but probably woulda felt a little weird. ... Also shamed since they're probably getting it a lot more than I would." He doesn't like laundry, though, so FOLLOWING AFTER JENKS.
  21. 01[22:13] <Saryx> ... Once he puts that pile of linens away. Hopefully being respectful enough to go back and tell whoever piled the laundry onto him that Jenks needed him, too.
  22. 01[22:16] <Saryx> Can't just flat-out ditch like that after he said he'd help. That'd just look bad.
  23. [22:16] <@zoofman> "Those kids are here for the long haul. They learnin', alright, but it's slow. Will take em till they're almost adults to get proficient at much here."
  24. [22:16] <@zoofman> "Pretty sure you'd prefer the accelerated pace." Mr. Jenks leads you out of the temple, into the town proper.
  25. 01[22:18] <Saryx> "... If it's really that quick to pick up, I wouldn't mind giving that a shot~" Followan' the Jenks. What's up with the actual town?
  26. [22:19] <@zoofman> Town itself is pretty small...a singular tavern, a helipad for supplies to come in, a small bazaar market for craftsmen, hunters. But where Mr. Jenks is leading you to is a small tent on the outskirts of it all, near the sandstorm.
  27. [22:19] <@zoofman> "Folks here don't have much. Whole place is basically devoted to the temple or the small amount of tourism we get."
  28. 01[22:21] <Saryx> "You're able to get tourists here, even with the sandstorm walling the place off?" He IS taking note of the helipad, but it doesn't seem all that practical to him. A quizzical expression falls upon his face.
  29. [22:23] <@zoofman> "Ain't for the school temple. But you'll see bout that in a bit. The helipad there's the only way we can get conventional products here. Fly over the storm, hover down into here. No roads after all, any land caravan would cost way too much time and money."
  30. [22:23] <@zoofman> "Unfortionately, we don't quite got that blessin' today. We'll be bravin' the storm a bit."
  31. 01[22:25] <Saryx> ". . ." Saryx quickly glances at whatever kind of bag Jenks has on his person, hoping that shit looks heavy. "... So we're going . . . Into the sand wall surrounding the city."
  32. 01[22:25] <Saryx> Saryx so scared. He looses a nervous chuckle.
  33. [22:27] <@zoofman> "Right, first though, we need get you a Pokemon yourself." He ducks into the tent.
  34. 01[22:29] <Saryx> Which gives Saryx just enough time to contemplate Jenks' sanity to himself. He universally decides the man is nuts. Wise and knowledgeable, but just plain nuts.
  35. [22:29] <@zoofman> HOLY FUCK
  36. [22:30] <@zoofman> THERE'S A
  37. [22:30] <@zoofman> LOT OF NUMELS IN HERE
  38. [22:32] <@zoofman> Inside the tent is a big pen full of numels, and a funny looking man scoopin' up Numel poo. As you enter he drops the shovel and hurries over. "Aha! Welcome, friends, to Crazy Annand's Slightly Used Numel Emporium!"
  39. [22:33] <@zoofman> BORDERLANDS 2 STYLE CLOSE UP, CRAZY ANNAND. THAT'S A LOT OF NUMELS!
  40. 01[22:33] <Saryx> Numel are cute~ Saryx gravitates inwards. "Wow, there sure is a lot of 'em in here, Mr. Jenks? ... Are they, like, town loans or some--... Oh. . . . Slightly used?" Saryx' face did a complete one eighty, from :D to ... Okay, not quite 180, but he's definitely not smiling anymore.
  41. 01[22:33] <Saryx> (Goddamnit I laughed zoof)
  42. [22:35] <@zoofman> "Well, yeah, they ARE slightly used. We do lease them when we need for people now and then. Specially visitors. You, though, are gonna need one yourself."
  43. [22:36] <@zoofman> Crazy Annand comes up and shakes your hand, whether you like to or not. "I am aquainted with Friend Jenks here, but you sir are?"
  44. 01[22:38] <Saryx> He'll gladly take the hand and match it with his own. "Saryx. Saryx Sylvestine. It's nice to meet you... Ummm..." His eyes drop down to the floor as he begins to speak the guy's name, a bit uncomfortable. "Do you have any other names you go by? I'd feel kind of awkward calling you Crazy Annand."
  45. [22:39] <@zoofman> "WELL, I AM OFTEN MISTAKEN WITH MY COUSIN, CRAZY HASSAN, BUT TRUTH BE TOLD I AM MUCH MORE HANDSOME! HAHAHA!" that's not exactly what you were looking for, uh.
  46. [22:40] <@zoofman> "Right...Annand. Saryx here gonna be needin' a perminant one of his own. Some of your camulrupts had a litter a bit ago didn't they?"
  47. 06[22:41] * Saryx shoots a glance over to Jenks. It's kinda obvious he's stilling his tongue and wants to say something, but he's holding it in.
  48. [22:43] <@zoofman> Crazy Annand just nods enthusiastically and meanders off. Mr Jenks looks to ya. "What?"
  49. 01[22:45] <Saryx> "It's... Not important right now..." The awkwardly scrunched up contortions upon Saryx' face as he tries physically to suppress his thoughts probably don't reflect very well. Once the dude's out of earshot, though... He IS out of earshot, right?
  50. [22:47] <@zoofman> right
  51. 01[22:47] <Saryx> "Dad raised me to be respectful to all sorts of people, but there's just something reallyoff about this guy," he whispers into Jenks' ear after having leaned in. "... And you met my Dad. Much as I love him, he was my standard for weird."
  52. [22:51] <@zoofman> "Crazy Annand wouldn't hurt a caterpie! You're bein' a bit critical ain't ya? He's gonna hook you up with your very own Pokemon n' all too."
  53. 01[22:52] <Saryx> "... Sorry, Mr. Jenks." He pulls away.
  54. 01[22:53] <Saryx> Still not particularly dispelled of wariness, but barring a major spike in weirdness, hopefully Saryx'll be able to deal. ... Hopefully.
  55. [22:54] <@zoofman> "Now...that rat bastard cousin of his-" Crazy Anannd returns with three Numels on a rope before he can finish that thought.
  56. [22:54] <@zoofman> "Take your pick of the litter, friend Saryx! The temple brings good business, it's pupils have choice of only my finest and youngest!"
  57. [22:54] <@zoofman> "These ones aren't even slightly used!"
  58. 01[22:55] <Saryx> He drops to one knee with a hand extended, but looks over to Jenks first. "... You know if I can pet any of the Numel?" ... Actually, after he notices the return of Annand, he redirects the question to him.
  59. 01[22:56] <Saryx> He's totally hype as he approaches the Numel, though. Babby Numel so kawaii~ ... Please shoot Botherer for having said that.
  60. [22:56] <@zoofman> "GO AHEAD, FRIEND!"
  61. [22:57] <@zoofman> The Numel on the right seems to be a bit skittish and timid, the one in the center is just sorta...sitting there. Not very interactive, the one on the left, however...
  62. [22:57] <@zoofman> Well, seems pretty damn confident for a baby camel. Sorta struts in place.
  63. 01[22:57] <Saryx> He reaches out towards the not-at-all-used litter of Numel. "Hey there, little guys~ My name's Saryx!"
  64. [22:58] <@zoofman> The one on the right seems to eep and try to back away as you touch it, sorta shakes in place. "THAT ONE JUST CAMERA SHY."
  65. [22:58] <@zoofman> The one in the center doesn't seem that receptive. "OKAY HE MIGHT BE A BIT SLOW."
  66. [22:59] <@zoofman> The one on the left sorta gets fed up and shoves in front of the others, sitting in front of you expectantly.
  67. 01[23:00] <Saryx> Timidgirl Numel actually seems kinda cute. But Saryx understands at least for now not to torment the newborns. He turns to that other--Or the Numel can turn to him. "What about you? Do you wanna be my friend?"
  68. [23:02] <@zoofman> It circles around you a bit, then nudges you your hand with its nose.
  69. 01[23:05] <Saryx> :< "Is something wrong?" Saryx lifts up his arm and lightly sniffs at his pit. "I don't smell too bad from the walk over here, do I?"
  70. 01[23:05] <Saryx> He retracts his hand, frankly, a bit upset. Rejected by a Numel. Shit fucking hurts.
  71. [23:05] <@zoofman> Shakes its head. Stomps in place some, circles around you again.
  72. [23:05] <@zoofman> Roll insight
  73. 01[23:06] <Saryx> 3d6 Oh, okay
  74. [23:06] <DiceMaid-9001> Saryx, Oh, okay: 10 [3d6=2,5,3]
  75. [23:06] <@zoofman> She wants to play with you silly!
  76. 01[23:06] <Saryx> LIGHTBULB.
  77. 01[23:07] <Saryx> Saryx reaches for the Numel's underbelly with one hand and attempts to tip it over with the other; belly rub~
  78. [23:07] <@zoofman> STUNNED
  79. [23:07] <@zoofman> ROLL OVER
  80. [23:08] <@zoofman> It seems to heckle the other two, which doesn't seem to react much. "I get a feelin' he's made up his mind," Mr. Jenks says with a chuckle. "Got its Pokeball on hand Annand?"
  81. 01[23:08] <Saryx> "You shoulda made it clearer you wanted to play some, you silly..." Oh God, it's like he's four.
  82. [23:11] <@zoofman> Crazy Annand runs off a bit, returns with a box.
  83. [23:11] <@zoofman> He puts it next to you.
  84. [23:12] <@zoofman> "CONGRADULATIONS, GOOD FRIEND, ON YOUR FIRST POKEMON. I GIVE YOU THESE GIFTS TO GO WITH MOST WONDERFUL GIRL CAMEL."
  85. 01[23:12] <Saryx> By the time Annand's come back, Saryx probably has the Numel wrapped up in his arms while he's down on the floor. He swiftly pops it open, possibly with his foot.
  86. [23:13] <@zoofman> He ushers the other two off as the Numel you're with rolls around a bit, then sits up to examine the contents of the box
  87. [23:13] <@zoofman> Inside there is...
  88. [23:13] <@zoofman> a POKEBALL, a CAMEL RIDING SATTLE (basically a cushioned blanket of sorts), a FRUIT COOLER...and...
  89. [23:13] <@zoofman> ...a rock.
  90. 01[23:13] <Saryx> He does at least wave back to the timidgirl Numel beforehand. "Don't worry. I'll come back and play with you some other time~"
  91. 01[23:14] <Saryx> ". . ." Saryx looks at the rock. "Excuse me, Annand. I think something fell in the box." Staaare.
  92. [23:15] <@zoofman> "Naw pretty sure he intended that."
  93. [23:16] <@zoofman> "He's pretty meticulous about it."
  94. [23:16] <@zoofman> "I got a salt shaker when I got my own."
  95. [23:16] <@zoofman> "The hell am I gonna do with a salt shaker?"
  96. 01[23:17] <Saryx> Still petting the Numel's fluffy bits on top of her head, he picks up the rock with the other. "Why a rock, though?"
  97. 01[23:17] <Saryx> (I am giggling so much at this.)
  98. [23:19] <@zoofman> "That's where the crazy comes in."
  99. [23:19] <@zoofman> "Come on, though. We off for a walk of sorts." He nods back out of the tent.
  100. 01[23:20] <Saryx> "... Oh. Well, I guess I can always find a use for this. Haven't done much with carving stone, but it shouldn't be too hard to learn." Out the door, Numel and box in arms.
  101. [23:22] <@zoofman> Well the Numel is big enough for you to ride, but yeah.
  102. 01[23:22] <Saryx> It what? Already? ... Oh wow.
  103. [23:22] <@zoofman> Outside Mr. Jenks has his Camulrupt out, as well as a Claydol he just released. "She should let you get on for a ride. I'll explain what we're doing as we go."
  104. [23:23] <@zoofman> "Windbag here will keep the sand out of our faces." He nods to the Claydol.
  105. 01[23:25] <Saryx> "... Oh, ummm... Okay, I guess..." Numel goes down, and... Lessee, how does this shit even--Oh, there we go! He drapes the Numel with the blanket before carefully clamboring aboard. He might not be that heavy as a person, but this is a baby! He's kinda nervous about accidentally hurting her.
  106. [23:26] <@zoofman> It looks pretty comical, but somehow works. She hnnngh's a bit, but sizes up the Camulrupt like 'WHAT NOW SUCKA' and plods off slowly.
  107. [23:29] <@zoofman> As you venture into the desert, roll perception.
  108. 01[23:29] <Saryx> 2d6+1 This skill needs to go up. Soon.
  109. [23:29] <DiceMaid-9001> Saryx, This skill needs to go up. Soon.: 6 [2d6=2,3]
  110. [23:30] <@zoofman> You swear you saw something odd in the distance of the sand. An odd color.
  111. 01[23:31] <Saryx> "Ummm... Mr. Jenks?" Saryx points off in the distance. "Any chance you saw that out there, too?"
  112. [23:32] <@zoofman> "Oh, you saw it. Good. That's what we're out here for."
  113. [23:33] <@zoofman> "We got these poles stuck about a mile apart each out here. Help guide people's paths. We do repairs on them weekly and check in on the Shrine of Keepers."
  114. 01[23:34] <Saryx> "... It is?" His head recoils back, squinting outwards. "... Do these poles... Move at all?"
  115. [23:35] <@zoofman> "Nope. That's the point. We dug em' on down and they flash bright colors in a rainbow pattern. Even the sand can't block it from a mile out."
  116. [23:35] <@zoofman> "It's about the only way we can keep people adventurin' off on their own from not havin' a snowball's chance in hell."
  117. 01[23:36] <Saryx> "Oh! That's pretty neat, Mr. Jenks!" This pleases the Saryx. "... So what was it that I just saw moving out there?"
  118. [23:39] <@zoofman> "Uh...probably just the lights playin' tricks with ya?" (I don't think I mentioned movement.)
  119. 01[23:39] <Saryx> (... WHOOPS.)
  120. 01[23:40] <Saryx> "... Hunh." Saryx does a doubletake. Yeah, he musta just been imagining shit.
  121. [23:41] <@zoofman> Before too long you're at the first one.
  122. 01[23:41] <Saryx> "So we just gotta make sure these lights are all working proper, Mr. Jenks?"
  123. [23:42] <@zoofman> It's literally a metal pole, about ten feet up, with a bunch of LED lights rotating around it. "Yup. I figured you'd find this more interestin' than housechores." He tosses you the bag of tools he was carrying. "Nothin' fancy though, just gotta replace any that are out. The real bonus is what we stop by."
  124. 01[23:44] <Saryx> Rotating lights. Huh, maybe that's what got Saryx confused. "So you just want me to climb up to the top and check for the burnt out bulbs, Mr. Jenks?"
  125. 01[23:45] <Saryx> He dismounts his Numel, popping open the fruit cooler first to see if the crazy left anything for her in there or not. If there's anything there, he sets it atop the cooler for her to nom upon before staring down the lightpole. ... Or up. You know, because it's taller than him.
  126. [23:46] <@zoofman> She scoffs a bit at first, then sniffs...yup gulpgulpgulp.
  127. [23:46] <@zoofman> Roll Athletics for me.
  128. 01[23:47] <Saryx> 3d6+1 To the top of this monstrosity!
  129. [23:47] <DiceMaid-9001> Saryx, To the top of this monstrosity!: 7 [3d6=1,4,1]
  130. 01[23:47] <Saryx> ... Ooor... Not.
  131. 01[23:47] <Saryx> Maybe.
  132. [23:48] <@zoofman> You slip a bit here and there but you get up eventually. Looks like this one's alright.
  133. [23:49] <@zoofman> Way down's way easier, since it's just sand, can hop down easily.
  134. 01[23:50] <Saryx> "Everything's good up here, Mr. Jenks!" Considering the sand below, he tries something stupid to amuse himself. ... He spins around to make sure no one'll end up directly below him, then tries backflipping off the pole. What's the worst that can happen?
  135. [23:50] <@zoofman> Roll Acrobatics.
  136. 01[23:51] <Saryx> 2d6+1
  137. [23:51] <DiceMaid-9001> Saryx, 2d6+1: 8 [2d6=4,3]
  138. [23:52] <@zoofman> You pull off the backflip just fine but land on your butt. Ouch.
  139. [23:53] <@zoofman> "Pht. Keep it simple kid we got like 10 more to go."
  140. 01[23:54] <Saryx> "... Sorry, Mr. Jenks. Just seemed like a good idea at the moment." He dislodges himself from the sand, then wipes his backside down before getting back to and upon the Numenumel~
  141. [23:58] <@zoofman> She swaggers over and lets you on top, god you'd be helpless without her~
  142. [23:58] <@zoofman> You guys stop by quite a few more on what turns out to be a pretty friggen long trip.
  143. [23:59] <@zoofman> As the sun begins to set though you come to a structure out of the middle of nowhere, with an oasis. The sand clears here. The last pillar shines by the water's edge.
  144. [23:59] <@zoofman> "Welcome to the Shrine of Keepers." Mr. Jenks dismounts and stretches some.
  145. 01[00:02] <Saryx> Saryx dismounts his not-a-pony and proceeds to--Wait, no... He pops open the cooler. The Numel worked hard and deserves to gorge herself. "Just don't eat all of 'em, okay? We still got the whole way back to go?" He rubrubrubs her head before stopping to get a drink of water for himself. "The Shrine of Keepers, though... What's up with this place, Mr. Jenks?"
  146. [00:07] <@zoofman> Mr. Jenks drinks from the oasis, as to his Pokemon. "Imagine a buildin' the original settlers of Sandseeker didn't build. They just found it out here, a shrine to every Keeper in our region. Who knows how old it is. Place is truely somethin'. This place is hallowed ground, that's for sure."
  147. [00:07] <@zoofman> He nods over to the shrine, a domed, stone building rising from the sand like a dune. There's a small set of steps in front of it.
  148. 01[00:08] <Saryx> "... Hallowed ground? ... Is it even alright for us to be here, Mr. Jenks? We're not gonna get smited or anything by the Keepers if we set foot in there, are we?"
  149. [00:09] <@zoofman> "There's a few seers, the truely gifted ones, who reside out here. Constantly in worship, least that's what they call it. More like just meditation, dream world divin' n' all. That's the other half of the job, we're bringin' em food n' such," he takes the large bag off his Camelrupt.
  150. 01[00:09] <Saryx> The first bit comes out kinda gargled; Saryx still had to swallow his water before speaking.
  151. 01[00:10] <Saryx> "... Dream World... Diving?" Still bent over at the oasis, Saryx' head tilt, both perplexed and curious.
  152. [00:12] <@zoofman> "I dunno how else to describe it. I never done it. They ain't just meditatin', they farseein'. Past, present, future. Least what they claim. I ain't sure to quite believe all of it cause they ain't winnin' the lottery left and right."
  153. [00:12] <@zoofman> "Though a lot of fundin' does come this way, so," he shrugs, approaching the building.
  154. 01[00:14] <Saryx> Saryx calls out to the Numel. "Don't cause any trouble while we're gone, okay? ... And don't forget to drink, either! It's hot out here!" He chases after Jenks, slowing to a normal pace once he gets close enough.
  155. [00:15] <@zoofman> You step inside, it's surprisingly cool in here...holy moly.
  156. [00:16] <@zoofman> It's like a planetarium, a small light in the center of the dome letting moonlight in, a structure in the center projecting it all across the walls.
  157. [00:17] <@zoofman> The pattern displays several Pokemon, many of which you recognize, all considered gods.
  158. 06[00:17] * Saryx is taken aback by the cool air. Maaan, feels just like home, almost~ ... First thing he does is look around the edges of the room for air conditioners, or those holes in the ceilings where the central air would be pouring in from.
  159. [00:17] <@zoofman> There's three elderly men sitting in a circle, facing these patterns, eyes closed.
  160. [00:19] <@zoofman> There's...really nothing here cooling it artificially. It's just naturally calm, trainquil, cooler here.
  161. 01[00:22] <Saryx> ... Whoa. Just. ... Whoa. Saryx' jaw drops at this. He's legitimately amazed, and with the gap between rows of teeth ever widening, he's taken aback by this place. The serenity, the beauty, the fucking magical cool air. He feels like he's out of place. A low-volume, humbled "Woooooow..." more or less kinda just slips outta his mouth.
  162. 01[00:24] <Saryx> Kinda in the way saliva'd pool up before spilling out and dropping to the floor, splashing all over the place is how it's said.
  163. [00:26] <@zoofman> "Told ya it was somethin'." He sits the bag down, approaches one of the men.
  164. [00:26] <@zoofman> The man looks over, doesn't open his eyes. "Ah, just on time, I see, Gregory, Saryx. Come, sit."
  165. [00:27] <@zoofman> There's not really much to define him by, bald with age, withered, sunspots in on his skin, wearing just a simple robe. The same for the other two.
  166. 01[00:29] <Saryx> Heheh... His first name's Gregory. Saryx's kinda taken aback, though. "... Did you tell them you were bringing me along with you, Mr. Jenks?" His hand slowly gravitates towards himself, index pointed self-wards.
  167. [00:32] <@zoofman> "Nope." Mr. Jenks takes a seat, as requested.
  168. [00:32] <@zoofman> He's not the least bit surprised by this.
  169. 01[00:34] <Saryx> "... Ohhh... Ummm... Okay..." Saryx is a little bit 'what the fuck?!?', a little creeped out... And a little bit amazed, albeit not all in equal parts. Kinda like a 40/20/40 split. He plops himself down as quietly as can be besides Jenks.
  170. [00:37] <@zoofman> "I welcome you, Saryx, as a student of Sandseeker," says the eldery man with a smile.
  171. [00:38] <@zoofman> "What do you think of this temple compared to the one you have stayed at till now?"
  172. 01[00:41] <Saryx> "I... I find this place amazing! Really, it's beautiful... I don't think i can really come up with words for this place . . ." Saryx tries to continue, but gets himself caught up when he tries to refer to the guy. Sir? Master? Seer? He's afraid to accidentally insult the dudes.
  173. 01[00:42] <Saryx> And kinda gets caught up there, accidentally letting a small piece of incoherent fuckall mess spill in the process.
  174. [00:45] <@zoofman> "We are The Three Seers of Sandseeker," he finishes for you. "But honestly forget the titles. You can just call me Al."
  175. [00:45] <@zoofman> "That's Fred, that's Jim," he points around.
  176. 01[00:47] <Saryx> Saryx can't help but bow before them. "It's a pleasure and an honor to meet you all, Al... Fred... Jim..." Well, that doesn't feel awkward at all.
  177. 01[00:47] <Saryx> The Three Seers of Sandseeker. ... Fred, Al, and Jim.
  178. [00:48] <@zoofman> "Yeah I felt the same way," shrugs Mr. Jenks.
  179. [00:49] <@zoofman> Al laughs quietly. "I sometimes believe it is the reason they gave us titles."
  180. [00:51] <@zoofman> "Saryx, as I understand your arrival in Sandseeker Village was an unexpected one. We wonder - what is it you wish to achieve in your stay here, before returning home?"
  181. 01[00:51] <Saryx> "It is a bit unusual... But I guess I'll just have to let it grow on me." A weak laugh of his own follows.
  182. [00:59] <@zoofman> "The son of a smith and a magician, a fateful entrance, and we surmise you might also have a gift you do not realize."
  183. [01:00] <@zoofman> "This shrine, Saryx, why do you surmise we maintain it so?"
  184. 01[01:05] <Saryx> The "!!!" is practically materializing within a speech bubble as the Seers run off those bits of Saryx's life. He's about to hit panic mode there before realizing these people are like goddamned wizards or something, and calms himself down with a big breath. "If you don't mind me going basic here... Mr. Jenks told me this place was here before Sandseeker. Perhaps left by at least one of the Keepers, though that's just my taking guesses at it. I imagine there would be a lotta Keepers who'd hate the thought of a shelter they created being left to turn to dust, or become a giant mess. Basically, just as a sign of respect to whoever made it, I'd think."
  185. [01:08] <@zoofman> "It's true we know not who or what created it. But it is more than just for it's regality. You noticed when you arrived here, it was another buffet in the sandstorm."
  186. [01:09] <@zoofman> "This temple, for whatever reason, is in a very unusual spot. Something about this patch of land, this structure. One way to put it is we are currently one leg into the Dream World."
  187. [01:10] <@zoofman> "It makes it naturally well acclimated for honing one's connection to both the mystical and pscionics. Dreams stimulate the mind in ways normal study never could."
  188. 01[01:15] <Saryx> "So this place is kinda bordering on fantasy and imagination?" ... Saryx ponders this a moment. "So is this room cold compared to outside 'cause of you all wanting it to be?" He's still working on conclusion drawing. "... I could see how that'd be..." A pause in thought. "If that's the case, how come you don't have more people who come to Sandseeker train here?"
  189. 01[01:16] <Saryx> "Err, not that you have more... Just that... Well... Is there any particular reason why anyone who really wanted to shouldn't be?"
  190. [01:17] <@zoofman> "The projection you see on the wall is completely natural for this place. It is without our influence."
  191. [01:17] <@zoofman> "What we seers do here, is attempt to read the past, present, and future," he points to one of each of them.
  192. [01:18] <@zoofman> "And quite frankly I am not quite sure we want the existance of such a place to be that well known. It could jeprodize the sanctity of it."
  193. 01[01:22] <Saryx> "... Yeah, I could see that being a problem." Saryx looks up to each of the projections pointed up at. "Being able to see through time, though. ... Ain't that something!"
  194. [01:24] <@zoofman> "In reality, it is a shot in the dark. Often it comes to late, such as knowledge of your arrival, or is not clear in the least. Or simply a possibility. But why we requested Mr. Jenks bring you here was simple."
  195. [01:25] <@zoofman> "We wish to train you, at least part of the time of your stay here. We believe you have a great potential for these gifts that you have never come to realize, and there is no such better place to awaken them but here."
  196. 01[01:31] <Saryx> "I'd... I'd be honored to study under you all!" Saryx struggles while seated to figure out some appropriate position to place himself in as a sign of respect. "Really, that... That'd be amazing! And... And..." Saryx is at the 'fuck I don't got me a clue what I should say here now' phase. "... Well, I guess... Just thank you all!"
  197. [01:34] <@zoofman> Al nods. "Good. You will spend weekends here, and during the week you shall stay with the rest of the pupils at Sandseeker Village. Starting immediately."
  198. [01:34] <@zoofman> "First, run ten laps around the perimeter of the shrine. To alert your body as your mind is now."
  199. 01[01:36] <Saryx> "Underst-... Wait, what?!?" Saryx springs to his feet, his whole body recoiling in shock to that.
  200. [01:37] <@zoofman> Al headtilts. "Is there a problem?" Mr. Jenks laughs, slowly stands. "Ain't you a lucky one," pats you on the back.
  201. 01[01:38] <Saryx> "N... No problem here, Al! N-n-nope! Not at all!" He turns back to Mr. Jenks, a 'Oh God what did I sign up for?' look seemingly permanently carved into his face as he heads outside. Poor boy's gonna die.
  202. 01[01:38] <Saryx> ... At least, 's what he thinks. Unfortunately for him the plot decrees otherwise.
  203. 06[01:38] * @zoofman queues the training montage

  205. 01[01:39] <Saryx> If this is what I think it is I am going to strangle you through the Internet.
  206. [01:39] <@zoofman> and the story of life goes on~ :D
  207. 01[01:39] <Saryx> ... Oh.
  208. 01[01:39] <Saryx> Oh~
