× VIBRANT— just like her name, akiko is a sparkling and bright child that's literally a bundle full of sunshine. super super lively and cheerful, she's a hyper and vocal girl that never seems to run out of energy and is always on the move, tending to be unable to sit still for more than an hour.

× FREE SPIRITED— she's also pretty independent and prefers to accomplish or solve her things herself rather than asking for someone's help, despite having the ability to have anything she want placed right in front of her at her request. isn't one to follow too many trends and has a very vivid imagination, she has many ideas up her sleeves.

× OPTIMISTIC— akiko is laid back and optimistic most of the time—rarely seen stressed and almost always has a smile on her face. she's pretty open with her emotions in general and tries to stay upbeat because she dislikes negative emotions or crying, especially in front of others. she just doesn't want to be a burden to anyone and keeps most of her worries and problems to herself—which can be too overwhelming for her to take sometimes.

× coming from a moderately wealthy family, she spent most of her life living in comfort and free of stress. she's the youngest and only girl, so everyone adored her and gave her many attention ever since she was young. no matter what she wants, her parents will give it to her without hesitation—though they were careful not to spoil her too much and also made sure she doesn't become haughty. just like the rich people you see in dramas, akiko also lives in a big house with many butlers and maids to take care of her while her parents were busy with work. she was the princess in the family alongside her two older brothers, who she looks up to a lot despite constantly bickering with them like how every other siblings do.

she did pretty well in school too, even before she knew of her powers and had made many friends there—despite some of them being fake and just wanted to use her to get something, she still treated them nicely. akiko didn't discover her power until she passed by an old abandoned building one night, when she was walking home after playing at a friend's house. all the lights inside just suddenly lit up despite having already been broken down many years ago. she was still young so she thought it was a ghost and freaked out, quickly running away until the building was out of sight. akiko didn't believe it was her doings until she noticed that all the broken street lights will light up whenever she passes them. she wasn't really sure if she should tell her family and hesitated at first, afraid that they'll think she's crazy or something and it took a few days until she got the courage to tell them. much to akiko's relief, her parents and brothers didn't judge her and was actually chill about the whole thing—her father even lightly joked that she was the light of happiness in her family.

[ akiko is willing to learn and try her best in everything, but she's far from being a goody two shoes and still dozes off during class or gets into all kinds of trouble from time to time. almost everyone in the academy knows her too—or at least her name, what she looks like, and vise versa due to her outgoing personality. (she can also be quite popular with the boys there) ]

× the weather was great that day so during lunch break, akiko went up to the academy's rooftop to eat lunch and relax. she was sitting on the ledge, singing out of boredom when she heard a groan behind her—which startled her since not a lot of people come up there. thankfully, it was just the love interest who was taking a nap on the other side but got woken up by her singing. akiko quickly apologized and offered him banana milk since she had an extra one due to the buy one get one free discount. he wanted to decline at first but ended up joining her by the ledge and they chatted for a while (akiko actually did most of the talking) before the break was over.

he was a bit annoyed since his nap got interrupted but his mind temporarily went blank once he saw that a girl was on the rooftop too. thought she was pretty cute when she frantically stuttered an apology, mistaking his blank expression as anger when in reality he just didn't know how to react.

was quite surprised when akiko offered milk and invited him to sit next to her too, since not many people would even bother to talk to him. wanted to befriend her too, but he knew he couldn't since he'll probably scare her away in the future anyway. she was just like a flower and though he knew he might get pricked by the flower's thorns, he still wanted to get close to her.

akiko was a bit flustered at first since he looked a bit cold and intimidating due to his sharp eyes, it didn't really help that he hardly smiled too. but the love interest didn't seem like a dangerous guy so she shook of her worries. she took an instant liking to him for some reason and wanted to get to know him better too, especially after he told her that he liked reading and poetry since people these days rarely even opens a book.

ー how both of you act around each other ;

× beginning ; akiko's basically just herself whenever she's around him. she's mostly the one to take the initiative in the beginning too, whether it be finding a chance to hang out or just firing a lot of questions for him to answer. it was difficult to get close to him since the love interest wasn't really willing to open up. akiko never seemed to give up though, and was overjoyed when he finally gave up in avoiding her.

the love interest was a bit hesitant in befriending her, knowing he would most likely end up hurting her or it would be akiko leaving him in the end because he wasn't a fun person to be around with. so he would often try avoiding her by hiding or running away, sometimes due to being flustered by her enthusiasm. even if he did reply to her, it'll never be anything more than one sentence. he felt a bit sorry, but he thought it was for the best until some of his close friends talked him into stop running away from her.

× middle ; akiko does her best to help him let loose and smile more often. she isn't afraid to do skinship with him either, often just grabbing his hands and dragging him off somewhere or giving him a sudden small hug whenever he helps her. she absolutely adores him and is fascinated by how anything he says sound like a beautiful poem—it was a bonus that his voice was so deep and soothing. akiko would often invite him over to her house too, to hang out and stay for the night (in separate rooms of course) or let him borrow any book he wants from her personal library. akiko didn't care if the other students say anything bad about him or about them together in general and wanted to prove all of them otherwise.

they slowly became good friends as the love interest starts warming up to her after realizing that he could trust her. was slowly captivated by her lively personality too, but he's almost always in denial—saying that he doesn't care for her or would often automatically refuse her requests, before giving in to it later. he likes to secretly observe her from afar sometimes, though he doesn't completely understand what's going on in akiko's mind sometimes as she always catches him by surprise. the two of them have many nicknames for each other and towards the end of the middle when the love interest became completely comfortable with her, the both of them like to tease each other on a daily too.

× end ; the two of them became really close despite their complete different personalities and family backgrounds. she knows that she can never understand or feel what's it like to be neglected, but with her passionate personality, akiko actually succeeded in helped him slowly face his insecurities and change into a more positive person. he's also one of the people she's most comfortable with and will trust him with her secrets. (she might have a small crush on him but she doesn't really realize it.)

the love interest is thankfully for having met her as he found himself smiling and talking a lot more due to her help. he also starts becoming more protective of her and self-aware of his own feelings for her were probably more than platonic but there was probably no way they could ever be together. he was already pretty content that they could be close friends so he tries to hide his feelings to himself because he didn't want to ruin their friendship.

he thought her power really suited her as it's cheerful and shining brightly like she is. but it's a bit too bright for a shadow like him, but he's more concerned and worried that her power or radiant personality will loose it's glow due to his dark shadows if he continues to get close to her.

akiko thought his powers were pretty cool and would often tell him that he isn't useless whenever he's feeling bad about himself. would often ask him to show or tell her what he could do with his powers. it didn't matter that his powers might harm her since it could also help right?

there was a sudden huge thunderstorm that day when the weather forecast said it was going to be sunny. the weather already made akiko feel uneasy and it didn't help that she didn't bring an umbrella. she was considering to just make a run for it but luckily, the love interest was near. he went to akiko and held out the umbrella for her.
