  1. Suppose that anon starts a family or herd in Equestria and has children
  2. Suppose said children's safety was in danger, say they are lost in the Everfree
  3. Anon, acting in a rage and panic of protective emotions charges into the woods, fighting everything in his path to find his kids

  5. How would ponies react to his protective rampage?

  7. Honest, I think they would be surprised and maybe a bit frightened. A father panicking would be expected, but as prey creatures still fairly in touch with their instincts, they might have an instinctual de-sensitization to the loss of offspring. You can see the same thing in other herd creatures on Earth that rapidly reproduce, who reluctantly sacrifice young to escape danger. In a way, it makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. Why worry over one of many younglings as a prey creature when attempting to defend it may result in even more loss? You see the opposite in predators and predatory omnivores, who breed in lower numbers and fight tooth and nail to make sure that offspring lives.

  9. These rules may not apply to intelligent ponies, but I still get the feeling that watching a man fly into a murderous no-pain-all-adrenaline rage when his children are put in danger would blindside the ponies in a nasty way. RGR only compounds that further, since it's the fair homemaker being thrown into a killing frenzy.
