  64. Dr. George R. Bent is Sidney Gause Childress Professor in the Arts at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he has taught for more than 15 years. He earned his B.A. in History from Oberlin College and his Ph.D. in Art History from Stanford University.

  66. Professor Bent cofounded Washington and Lee University’s interdisciplinary program in Medieval and Renaissance Studies and served as Associate Dean of The College from 2003 to 2006.

  68. His scholarly work focuses on medieval art in Byzantium and Italy, Italian Renaissance art, the High Renaissance in Italy, Northern Renaissance art, and Gothic art in France.
