  2. Part 5 Procrastinating on other works Edition
  3. ==============================================================================
  4. You were going to the bank with Compa, normally a routine errand but this time very special. You were turning in the last payment for your home and land using extra funding courtesy of your business trip. Compa gleefully stuck to you side and bore a giant smile. It had been some time since Nepgear and Uni’s stories, it was like that night cleared the hurdle for your relationship with Compa into maturity. The teller stumbled and stuttered when they saw you two, it had been a while you guessed but nothing out of the ordinary. The manager was called over and he dealt with your transaction, he thanked you graciously for your business, saying that you two were the backbone of his operation.
  5.
  6. “Sir, I’m not quite sure why you would say this, the loan was only for 50 million credits, did Compa do something while I was gone?”
  7.
  8. The manager pointed at Compa’s account list, finger hovering over a 2nd saving account titled “Monster Drops” that had status mailing disabled.
  9.
  10. “Whats going on Onee-chan? I don’t understand all this bank stuff, I just know how much it takes to buy stuff…””” Compa embarrassingly confessed to your ear.
  11.
  12. The manager was as shocked as you.
  13.
  14. “Your wife is a notable Maker and doesn’t know she had a “Monster Drop” account set up for her?”
  15.
  16. “Does it contain funds from monsters we get bounty on for killing?” you asked.
  17.
  18. “Of course”
  19.
  20. “How much is in it, sir?”
  21.
  22. The manager reminded you that this was a credit union, member funds were used to back others taking loans. He flipped the small signing screen around and gestured.
  23.
  24. “Holy fuck!” You couldn’t prevent yelling, this was both a blessing and a curse of the ditzy Compa. 532,349,579 credits to be precise, enough to start Compa her own small hospital if she wanted. Compa told you quietly to watch your language but still grew wide eyed as she saw the number.
  25.
  26. Compa tugged your arm and told you that the two of you should pay the loan off, go home and decide what to do with this moderately sized fortune that had been accrued on accident. How many tens of thousands of monsters had you and Compa just absent-mindedly obliterated during your adventures? Too many apparently but either way you were going to take as much time as you could from work after this discovery. The rains of spring were subsiding and transitioning into the summer shine, it was the perfect time to go on vacation.
  27.
  28. The next day you were on a sunny beach in Leanbox with Compa, drinking ice cold sweet tea and sharing a towel. Compa’s slender, ivory body reflected quite a bit of sun and you made sure to lather her in sunscreen.
  29.
  30. “AAH! Eeeeeyyyyy.... Onee~chan~~~ Its so cold desu~!”
  31.
  32. “Do you want to get sun-burnt or something honey?”
  33.
  34. “No…but...” Compa wasn’t happy that she had to suffer through the seemingly freezing lotion but gave her best effort to not squeal when you got to her tender thighs and breasts. Your firm grasp on these regions convinced the girl to playfully tackle you and sink into a hug after you helped her tie the bikini top back on. Compa lovingly pulled herself onto your chest, finally coming to rest in the glorious sun. She didn’t weigh enough for it to be uncomfortable and her soft motions nearly set you to sleep as well. You tried to rub Compa’s exposed back but your hand got tangled pretty quickly in her mass of pink hair. Your lady took your other hand and planted a kiss on the top of it, soon taking it and holding your cool skin to her cheek.
  35.
  36. The resort was huge, you could see only a fraction of it from the beach towel you were sharing with Compa. Summer at these tropical regions meant that night started at a normal time, you were soon enough on the edge of a patio bar sharing a fruit smoothie watching the sunset. You were both too excited to sleep, this giant place was a maze. You chased each others giggles and laughter down vacant hallways and empty event rooms, Compa soon enough found a door and slipped inside before you could catch up. You entered through the slightly opened double doors to find a tremendous theater, like one for a great production or play..
  37.
  38. You could smell the leather and hardwoods, a single light illuminated each door and the exact center of the stage. There was a beauty to the emptiness.
  39.
  40. You mindlessly walked up to the stage, setting a hand on the dark trim of the raised platform. It was cool, a nice change from the burning sun. A soft smile crept into vision, Compa was sitting on the stage right next to where you were standing, swinging her slender legs and occasionally thumping the boards. There was the distant tick of hard sole dress shoes in the hallway, by the sounds of it a single person.
  41.
  42. Compa's short short clad thighs were an alluring pillow as well as the cool floorboards. You laid down with your head in your beloved’s lap, letting her massage your head. Upon getting a glance of her full smile and relaxed expression, you turned to look into those calm eyes.
  43. Compa made little excited noises as you gazed into her giant, loving eyes. One of her hands grasped instinctively to the little heart necklace just above her cleavage, fiddling with it while her face crept closer to yours. Compa's soft legs were sprawled across the stage and you smelled her vanilla scented lotion waft from her skin. Her kiss didn't even feel real, more like a dream. You had never had so much time to just be together and not do anything, especially in such a luxurious environment. As you pulled her hair off of your mouth and face, a familiar, tomboyish voice called out from the entry of the majestic local.
  44. It took a moment for the sight to cement in your mind but it stuck. IF was an absolute stunner in a suit, her appearance equivalent to some sort of super spy like James Bond. The young woman adjusted her thin framed glasses with a white gloved hand and spoke.
  45.
  46. “Never thought I would find you two here.”
  47.
  48. Compa was elated to see her best friend, having you and IF around at the same time made it impossible for her to have a bad time.
  49.
  50. “Iffy why are you here desu~?”
  51.
  52. “Vert is hosting a conference at this resort, Cave and I are the security detail. What about you?”
  53.
  54. Iffy paused.
  55.
  56. “You could come, it is a conference for Makers to help boost game development for Leanbox.”
  57.
  58. “Only if my Onee-chan can come!”
  59.
  60. IF sighed, it was a distinct and common sound she made around her friends.
  61.
  62. “Annunciate, it's 'Onii-chan’, you don't think he's a girl do you?”
  63.
  64. Compa melted into your arms apologizing until you had convinced her that you weren't offended, you didn't mind the slip-up but Compa was very embarrassed. She was mortified to think that she could've gone in front of crowds of total strangers and called you a girl. You patted her head and assured her that it was OK.
  65. You got up, Iffy had done so much for you. You thanked her and gave a hug just like you would to Compa. Taking care of your little lady while you were away was a service worth more than any amount of money. IF was bright red, stuttering through a sentence. You forgot how mesmerizing your firm touch was to these girls, Compa asked if you had done anything wrong because Iffy couldn't speak. Compa was latched to your side, IF finally got herself together enough to direct you two.
  66.
  67. IF was a fantastic girl, she lead you to a giant room filled with busy workers assembling furniture, displays and booths for a great gala. The conference room appeared at first glance to be just a single room was rather a tremendous Leanbox “Windows” logo, 4 squares divided by a cross of walls that slid away in the center to make both pathways and a central circular stage. Heavy duty conduit and cabling ran throughout the uncovered ceiling, the tiles stacked all about while the room was re-wired for all sorts of high tech booths and showcases. Cave seemed to appear next to IF, dressed in a black and white dress, a modern look that appeared slightly influenced by a maid outfit, the valleys of the bottom frills were colored white just like the center block on the chest. Cave explained that her and IF were the security detail, it was no difficult job but Vert was suspicious of two Makers in particular that would be attending.
  68.
  69. “With you two here as well, only a fool would try anything at this event” Iffy bragged.
  70.
  71. “Or someone powerful enough to take all of us.” said the serious Cave.
  72.
  73. Compa wasn’t paying any mind to the conversation and had found a giant plush game mascot decoration to sit on. She invited you over, when you got there you picked her off of it.
  74. “No making more work for these guys hun.”
  75.
  76. “Yes sir desu~!”
  77.
  78. Compa lept to your side again, Cave looked like she was taking notes on your interactions. The small tails of hair that hung off the front of Compa’s head right in front of her ears swayed with the rest of her as she lead you through the maze of construction, following the impressively quick Cave and IF. It took no time when everyone was nearly running to escape to another empty hall, vacant lobby or desolate courtyard.
  79.
  80. You were hopelessly lost, even more terrifying was how Compa had disappeared. You peeked into a dark room and heard breathing.
  81.
  82. Even though you were sure it was Compa, it was still pretty spooky to enter a giant echoing room alone.
  83.
  84. A lighter flicked and only a couple strides away was a tall, well endowed woman smoking a cigarette.
  85.
  86. She.
  87.
  88. Was.
  89.
  90. Beautiful.
  91.
  92. Something was disconcerting about her as she closed some of the distance. A soft whirring of motors and clicking of solenoids followed her every motion. The perfectly tailored black business suit that was evidently more expensive than everything you and Compa owned showed a chromed skeletonized prosthetic hand, possibly even arm. It took a moment to realize that the woman’s left leg was also a similar pattern of weaved chrome metal, lights, drive systems and PCBs barely visible under clear polymer plating covered by dark black stockings. A soft glow buzzed and barely peeked from below the woman’s breast through the white dress shirt. The smell of perfume was utterly overpowering, you gave a step back to avoid the noxious smell.
  93.
  94. The silver lapel pin said “EA” in an aggressive modern typeface inside a loose circle.
  95.
  96. At that exact moment, the door behind you knocked the wind out of you.
  97.
  98. Compa collapsed onto you, heavily breathing from exertion.
  99.
  100. EA flicked a cigarette butt over her shoulder and left the room, walking right past the tangled mess of you and Compa.
  101.
  102. What the hell just happened?
  103.
  104. You got up as quick as possible, you felt IF’s presence as EA stood in the open air courtyard. The cyborg retrieved another cigarette and light it, taking time with every motion and calmly pocketing the pack and lighter. In the moonlight the cybernetics were significantly less visible, someone that wasn’t looking for them wouldn’t see anything other than her hand. Something was wrong.
  105.
  106. It wasn’t an appearance or anything other than a gut feeling of yours that told you to not trust the woman that was nearly tall enough to look you in the eye.
  107.
  108. You checked your phone just after it buzzed, an unknown number had texted you “STALL”. You couldn’t use anything flirty, Compa was right next to you. Anything less than deals involving billions or more of credits in profit alone probably wouldn’t even bat this unknown entity’s eye.
  109.
  110. So in a moment of less than miraculous intellect:
  111.
  112. “SPAR ME!”
  113.
  114. EA glanced at you like some sort of cartoonish aristocrat would a commoner, grudgingly finishing her smoke. She loosened her tie and you threw yourself at the unusual Maker. You hadn’t seen any non-CPU move like this, or even accept such a ridiculous challenge. The speed was ridiculous. You locked with the metallic arm, using your other to hit the belly of your foe. EA immediately retreated from your grasp, complimenting your strength, you were absorbed by thought.
  115.
  116. When you had connected, your attacking fist didn’t hit a normal human body, it was more like hitting a thick almost rubbery bag filled with pudding. Whatever it was had been very effective in causing retreat. Also, what in the hell just happened? You expected some villainous ranting, a cat fight or some questioning of your sanity, not an actual duel.
  117.
  118. “Who are you, human Man?” asked the cold cyborg.
  119.
  120. You pointed at Compa and said:
  121.
  122. “Her husband, Anon.”
  123.
  124. “Well thank you for the challenge, I really must get going though.”
  125.
  126. The woman swiped a few commands into a holographic display in front of her and soon began to slowly walk.
  127.
  128. The night stuck in your head, the conference was only a few days away and it would make no sense to not hang around for any giant announcements that could happen or special event promotions. To ask what had happened was beyond you, a strange Maker had engaged you in a challenge for exactly 1 blow and then left in a semi-hurry, trailed by IF. Cave updated you, that was one of their two suspicious Makers. Apparently the other wasn’t too much of a trouble, just a Nepgear aged girl that always wore a lot of clothes, never revealing anything more than head, hands and feet named Ubisoft.
  129.
  130. You could understand the concern over EA, but it wasn’t your job to deal with these shady characters, giving Compa all the time you could was far more important. Compa was happy beyond words, she got to spend every waking moment with you and sometimes IF as well. The resort town you were in was so giant that you could have a different style of cuisine every night from a five star restaurant. Compa took every little second of time to try and express her absolute love to you.
  131.
  132. You woke up one night, the crickets chirping in the darkness and a scantily clad Compa wrapped around your chest. You were still concerned, the contact with EA’s body was nothing like your soft and squishy lover. Your hand gravitated to Compa's head, massaging ever so carefully and slowly to avoid waking the softly breathing gem of your life. Either Compa liked head pats enough to wake or you hadn't been careful enough, you saw her eyes slowly slide open and flicker, the moment she recognized your hand tangled in her hair and how close she was to you she got caught in your eyes.
  133.
  134. Compa's gaze was sleepy but over joyous, she slid in the nook of your arm, finding a nice spot to steal kisses from and to nuzzle into your cheek. Compa laid onto you in affection in a slowly accelerating pattern expected of someone just waking up; whatever pace she wanted was fine with you. Compa's cute little lips felt like wet silk to yours, tasted like vanilla too. Moments like this were worth the tired next morning every time.
  135.
  136. The night air was somewhat humid and the slight breeze made it chilly in your room. Compa's skin was ripe with goosebumps and she shivered a bit until you wrapped her in an extra cover from the closet and took her deep into your grasp. You put a pillow between your back and the headboard to let Compa curl up on you even more than previous. Underneath the airy down comforter, Compa crept up your body, pulling the covers with her. Your little lady’s delicious legs clamped over your thighs, trapping you with her against the wall.
  137.
  138. “Onii-chan, why’d you wake me?”
  139.
  140. You didn't mean to wake her, Compa had other plans though.
  141.
  142. “Onii-chan! Your punishment for waking a fair maiden from her rest is 3 hours of snuggles!” Said your wife with a giant smile.
  143.
  144. There was no escape now, anyways Compa's idea of punishment for you was often really a reward. Right as Compa shifted to pull you under the covers you slid off the bed towards the interior of the building and pulled her with.
  145.
  146. So that's what the ringing in your ears meant.
  147.
  148. “CRACK!” A firearm of some sort fired a single subsonic shot.
  149.
  150. You peeked through a gap and saw a running dark figure, Compa had IF on the phone in a second. IF had you two move to her room, unofficially adding you two to the security detail and this investigation.
  151. It was far too late to do anything more, Iffy lent you two a single person inflatable camping pad and a few blankets. It was a tight squeeze but even after such a terrifying event Compa was blissfully wrapped around you.
  152.
  153. You woke up to Iffy dangling a bag of Mcdomalt’s above your head and your beloved still in the shirt you let her use passed out on your chest. You poked Compa awake.
  154.
  155. “Wakey my little songbird~” you tempted her.
  156.
  157. “Onii-chan, I had the scariest dream ever! We got shot at and…”
  158.
  159. Iffy interjected:
  160.
  161. “That actually happened.”
  162.
  163. Compa was shocked for a moment but quickly pulled herself back into your body.
  164.
  165. “I still have my Onii-chan, that's what matters.”
  166.
  167. The girl you had fallen in love with pressed her face into your chest, silently begging for a head massage. She knew what buttons to press always, or maybe it was just pure accident. Maybe it was just her overwhelming feelings, you could never be sure of some things with this girl.
  168.
  169. You obliged, it wasn't often that you had breakfast in bed. Compa slipped off of you and sat with her back against the wall, offering her shoulders and head as a pillow. Iffy took the opposite side and Compa took a quick picture that she sent off to Gear and Nep Nep titled “my two bestest friends ever!”. Even in a crisis, Compa couldn't hide her nature. IF wanted to act like a big responsible lady but a threat against her childhood friend was personal.
  170.
  171. Through bites of Egg NepMuffin, Iffy laid out her plan of canvassing the event and ensuring nothing went wrong. Compa wanted to look around, Iffy figured that you and Compa could mingle and act as a sort of ground team. You left for a bit, to think and just exist for a bit. After pulling your car around to the front of the event and positioning your weaponry, namely the ever reliable FAL and pack, you ventured back to IF’s room.
  172.
  173. The door squeaked open.
  174.
  175. You felt a soft press on your side, you hadn't even gotten inside yet.
  176.
  177. Compa?
  178.
  179. You leaned over, trying to feel for a soft shoulder or head to caress.
  180.
  181. Your prompt attempt at falling is surprising, what is going on?
  182.
  183. “Hey stupid don't think I like you guys or anything…”
  184.
  185. Uni had took your side, just like Compa usually did. The significantly shorter lady hopped away from you the moment the door started to open. Compa was overjoyed to have Uni appear so suddenly, even if it took a moment for her to realize that the Candidate was there after tackling you.
  186.
  187. Compa changed targets with the skill of an acrobat, quickly pinning Uni down and sinking into a crushing hug.
  188.
  189. “I only c-came here on CPU duties, stop it y-you…”
  190.
  191. Compa redoubled.
  192.
  193. “Uni-chan, you can't trick me, especially with Onii-chan around to make sure of it!”
  194.
  195. “C-c c ompa I can't-”
  196.
  197. Compa's smile was the size of a slice of watermelon, she loved the little CPU just like her own daughter.
  198.
  199. “What desu~?”
  200.
  201. “bre-a-the------...”
  202.
  203. Compa's chokehold was loosened pretty quickly but was quickly followed by her rubbing her face up against Uni’s bright red cheek. Uni broke free eventually, it just took a while for Compa to further relax her grasp. Upon trying to break the two apart, you somehow end up back on the sleeping pad. Compa is on one side, her hand over your heart and trapping you in her grasp. On the other side, Uni is trying to act like she doesn't enjoy being this close to you despite pulling ever closer.
  204.
  205. IF doesn't know what happened but quickly asks,
  206.
  207. “When did you become a harem protagonist?”
  208.
  209. “I never did!” You try to say, only to be talked over by Compa
  210.
  211. “What’s a harem, Iffy?”
  212.
  213. The discomfort is visible in poor Iffy’s face who proceeds to say nothing and storm off. After a quick chat, Uni agrees to watch you and Compa during the event from the shadows and soon hops up, dragging you with her to showcase her newest rifle. You could see the sparkles in her eyes as she opened the case to a beautiful fiberglass stocked, black matte barrel and action with a slick chrome bolt. The girl whips the rifle up, retaining the barrel away from any people.
  214.
  215. “.338 Lapua Magnum, 3 shot magazine, free floating barrel” says Uni as she hands it to you.
  216.
  217. All of the weight is in the front of the rifle as you aim.
  218.
  219. “80% of my rifle’s weight is in the barrel!” Says Uni, looking like she's presenting the accomplishments of her child.
  220.
  221. Upon handing the precision rifle back to her, she returns it to the case in a single sweeping motion and asks when you'll be heading out. You kneel a bit, just to be eye to eye with this little lady and give no answer but a headpat.
  222.
  223. Uni melts, she doesn't want her new uncle and aunt to go off on a mission without her this dangerous.
  224.
  225. Uni sticks to you for a bit, giving you a tight hug around your neck.
  226.
  227. “T-that’s the only time I’ll give you a hug so d-don’t get used to it…”
  228.
  229. “Then that's the only time I’ll bring you on a quest or give you headpats.”
  230.
  231. Uni turns bright red, the steam engine in her mind was at full capacity just by giving you a hug, the prospect of more is beyond her.
  232.
  233. “m-may… maybe one mo- one more someday…” she quietly confesses into your shoulder.
  234.
  235. Compa picks Uni off of you and pulls you along to the event. Uni gets in her goodbye and follows behind for a few floors only to split off and adopt an overwatching position.
  236.
  237. It's quite difficult to enjoy an event when you're scanning for suspicious activity, the hubbub of the convention floor was much more suited to Cave's adept footwork and to not having a devoted wife clinging to your side. Compa was quite a bit more easy though, she was taken away by the sound and colors of new games, huge videos plus hot food from concessions stands.
  238.
  239. Finally, a scheduled presentation by…
  240.
  241. EA? Plus Ubisoft backed up to it in time slots? This was your window to look out in. Vert herself had turned an eye from investigating booths of manga and video games to inspect the rising platform of the central stage.
  242.
  243. Theatrical trailer after “absolutely not pre-rendered gameplay presentation”, it was so rinse and repeat that you almost felt your brain cells finding internal cliffs to jump off.
  244.
  245. “Now,” said the discomforting cyborg with a dramatic pause.
  246.
  247. “I understand that Leanbox has had some trouble with Shares as of late, is this not true Lady Vert?”
  248.
  249. All eyes were on Vert. Affirming such a statement would cause chaos among the nations, Lowee was normally the more challenged of the countries, to have two unsteady nations was asking for conflict.
  250.
  251. Vert gained altitude and hovered above the crowd, she tossed a length of hair over her shoulder and asked the unusual Maker for a source on that information.
  252.
  253. EA wasn't trying to state facts but rather to cause a temporary false Share crash to send the transformed CPU out of HDD and lead to a runaway effect.
  254.
  255. Vert may have been a lesser choice but also likely had significantly more resources to be looted in defeat. EA wanted power and money, that was one thing you knew, it was your time to strike. Communications were still up because obviously EA needed their coup to be broadcast for it to be effective. A quick text to Uni changed everything.
  256.
  257. The thunderclap of a .338 Lapua Magnum through a giant muzzle break smashed a hole in the giant screen that EA was using as a backdrop. If Uni wasn't a damn CPU the recoil would've knocked her off her feet. Cave had been clearing people as quickly as possible from the floor with the help of IF, it was your turn to help.
  258.
  259. “Go help Cave and IF then grab my rifle and magazine pouch from the car out front.”
  260.
  261. Compa looked scared. It had barely been seconds since Uni’s shot. The ground zero.
  262.
  263. The inevitable panic set in and the remaining civilians nearly stampeded each other down in the race to escape.
  264.
  265. Each heartbeat.
  266.
  267. Each step.
  268.
  269. You were powerful among these small people, so many little women and girls. They stood no chance against this monster alone. You set a hand on the stage.
  270.
  271. If only this was a few nights ago, you would've just been on vacation with your beloved and sharing a warm summer night in the tropics.
  272.
  273. You pulled yourself onto the tall stage and stood up, Vert gave ground for you and assisted her people in escaping.
  274.
  275. “Stand down, the courts may find lenience for you.”
  276.
  277. EA’s partner in crime emerged.
  278.
  279. Ubisoft targeted Vert, just being able to stalemate an HDD CPU was impressive, but it was pretty clear their plan wasn't going as expected.
  280. EA’s suit tore as her robotic components went into overdrive and launched her body at you. Nevertheless, such tiny actuators could be bent, even broken if under such stress and then attacked. Doing anything seemed too slow for this mutant, you somehow captured her fist in an attempt to punch. The smell of disinfectant barely covered that of dead flesh. The arm you captured was bent like a paper clip, stabbing the barrel of your poor Browning through the spacings worked exceptionally despite the finish taking one for the team. The sharp jabs of the opposite arm showcased the devil's ability to withstand non twisting force.
  281.
  282. The “belly” of this creature was really a rubber sack, just like you had thought. No matter how quick the Maker tried to be, you could tolerate a few blows for each extremity you mangled.
  283.
  284. The crippled cyborg lay against a speaker, it even started to smile.
  285.
  286. “What next?”
  287.
  288. The cyborg manages to tap a last code on its Holo display.
  289.
  290. “Suicide? Really?”
  291.
  292. The cyborg just says-
  293.
  294. “Much better than that.”
  295.
  296. The floor falls out under her, only to throw the same body imbedded into a 10 foot tall mech suit back at you.
  297.
  298. Rather than fight, it jumps out the glass roof.
  299.
  300. Compa just got back from the car, she tries handing you the gear you asked for only to be disappointed that you’re running to the car. She isn’t as quick but manages to land in the passenger seat as you being to leave the parking lot.
  301.
  302. The 4 speed automatic hops through itself, launching into its last gear, locking the torque converter nearly as quick as you hit the gas.
  303.
  304. The V8’s ferocious growl becomes further enraged as it pulls past 4000 RPMs, the highway is the perfect place to let this car loose. There is one bridge to the mainland from Leanbox, and that cyborg is just getting to it after a fresh head start.
  305.
  306. 15 Minutes since Uni’s shot.
  307.
  308. The transmission, nor the aftermarket brakes in all their power enjoy the stop, but they do their job well, leaving you at the Mainland side of the bridge, the only fighters between this terror and all of the girls’ and their closest friends. It’s quite visible that the Vert-Ubisoft fight has gotten out of hand and the local suburbs are taking quite the thrashing at the hands of two immensely powerful beings.
  309.
  310. Compa says that you have 20 minutes before the other three CPUs arrive with their sisters. Uni has her hands more than full according to reports, the convention was flooded by swarms of robots while IF and Cave are doing their best to contain a perimeter. Its 12 miles to your house from here, and there is absolutely no way you could consistently penetrate the armor of your opponent’s new body with anything less than an anti tank weapon.
  311.
  312. Idea.
  313.
  314. “Compa take the rifle and lure the cyborg to follow us, shoot out the back glass if you have to.”
  315.
  316. You get a nice glimpse of her legs as she stands up after throwing the T-top into the back seats, the dirt road does not favor your top speed.
  317.
  318. The engine begins to sputter.
  319.
  320. Yeah a supercharged engine slurped gas but really? You hadn’t refueled this car since you went out with Compa that one night.
  321.
  322. You can see the clearing where your house should be.
  323.
  324. The explosive cracking of the FAL surprises you, Compa is laying down fire onto that machine. The car chokes itself out. That’s all, 100 meters to home. As soon as you hop out of the car and beckon Compa along, EA notices the ruse, the bright purple and blueish-white light in the distance sends her running, back to Leanbox.
  325.
  326. A fun rifle you thought, one you had bought to pretty much never use.
  327.
  328. You practically slid across the floor of your garage to open up the gun safe in there, an AR15 with an archaic Vietnam style bandolier of magazines for Iffy, and a giant box of 50 BMG cartridges for yourself.
  329. You unlock the wooden box next to the safe, retrieving an M107 anti material rifle, your shoulder was going to hurt. Even with all this weight, you only had about 40 shots. All of it into the rear seats of the 1979 Camaro, Compa hops into passenger with the AK74 and chambers a round, setting it to safe.
  330.
  331. The big block is quite a bit more smooth sounding in its’ acceleration, granted this car does actually have mufflers. One then two then three then 4 on the shifter, you’re running back over the Leanbox bridge in no time. Having an escort of goddesses makes it quite a bit less tense. The robots have become a flood, all of the Candidates are soon working at full capacity just to give Cave and IF some time to clear out the stragglers that are rampaging across the nearby offices and shopping centers. Uni had transformed, she moves like a natural with a Beam Blade in her hand, Brave’s face is minted on the side of it in glorious chrome. Vert is losing ground quickly against both EA and Ubisoft. IF is grinning like an idiot when you hand her the AR, a quick stop lets you take a second look at the battle occurring overhead. The other CPU’s have been locked out of helping Vert by some sort of aura and a legion of flying robots. Compa cannot help if she follows you, you tell her to help IF and roar off in the Camaro.
  332.
  333. Compa is distraught, you can see it in the rearview, but quickly hops to helping her friends.
  334.
  335. A series of concrete barriers works as the perfect benchrest for the excessively heavy rifle, throwing a cloth down for your ammunition takes only a second and you’re quickly on target.
  336.
  337. 40 minutes since Uni’s shot.
  338.
  339. The 50 caliber rifle sounds as often as you can let it, the barrel soon smouldering. Getting a good shot where Vert won’t get hit is difficult. The stray that hits Ubisoft only makes things worse. The erratic evil young Maker begins to bubble in a very literal way. The exit wound is far too small and the creature is soon enough healed. The increasingly destroyed clothing shows dozens of stitchings and patches, a sort of living cloth doll. The frankenstein-esque skin soon begins to take a form of its own, you can feel the souls of other people and Makers just looking at the monster. How many had been killed to make Ubisoft? Was EA a similar creature?
  340.
  341. The freshly enraged Ubisoft targets you, the FAL makes her stop with a burst of 7.62 NATO, the bayonet is soon clear into the creature’s chest. You cut and stab, shoot as much as possible, the body is nearly Swiss cheese by the time you’re done. It fidgets, and despite being pinned to the ground by a rifle, it stands up, tearing off a good section of its upper body. It appears you did enough damage to stop the regeneration process for now, a series of 9mm into it’s head and another defiling series of attacks with the hunting knife leaves the creature well and disabled.
  342.
  343. EA notices her partner’s failing and soon jumps to assist, only to be clotheslined by a lance. Vert is not a dueler, she dances about the entirely vulnerable mech, cutting and slicing like a sushi chef.
  344.
  345. “My my, you made a mistake. Goodbye.”
  346.
  347. Vert is loud for once and the summoned giant spear launches EA all the way to the bridge head. You’re still recovering from mangling an abomination while barely avoiding rolling your car to get to the seemingly tireless cyborg.
  348.
  349. So much for tireless though, again EA couldn’t move. The crippled cyborg is mostly visible through the wasted mech suit.
  350. “I-I ha-have one fin-final attack” EA weakly says.
  351.
  352. “Really?”
  353.
  354. “E EM PE” the severely damaged voice box barely even makes the word out.
  355.
  356. “Huh? Isn’t that a terrible idea in a world built around electronics? Wouldn’t that kill just about anyone here?”
  357.
  358. A box still attached to the failing body lights up, obviously starting a charge cycle. It appears to drain so much power that the rest of the body “dies”.
  359.
  360. What would happen to Compa? What about the others? The grit beneath your boot scrapes loudly as you throw yourself into a sprint, if anyone could survive the magnetic storm you were about to make, it was you. You had said “anything for Compa” a million times, now it was time to live up to it. The last thing you see is your car getting pelted by magnetized metallic debris.
  361.
  362. One hour since Uni’s shot.
