  1. Hello!
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. Since Google I/O, we’ve been working hard on new features for the Chrome Web Store. As part of this effort, we are making a few changes in the store that will impact any apps, extensions and themes you have posted there. We are sending this note to make you aware of these changes and to provide some guidance on how to address these.

  9. More specifically:
  10.
  11. In the near future, the store UI is going to change significantly. This means, you’ll need to upload new creative assets for all the items you’ve posted in the store, if you want to be eligible for free in store promotion. Without these assets, we will not be able to feature any of your items, regardless of their quality. To find information on what assets to produce as well as some useful examples please consult our documentation.
  12. Since September 15th, CWS users located in 24 countries have been routed to localized storefronts. To create a better experience for our international users, each country’s storefront will prioritize - in terms of promotion - apps and extensions that are localized in that country’s main language. We recommend reviewing our localization guidelines, if you want to make your app accessible to more users.
  13. We now have full support for developer payments in 20 countries. This means that if you are a developer based in these countries you can now sell apps in the store. The CWS now also supports streamlined user payments in 20 countries. This means that users from these countries can now buy your apps in their own currency, without leaving the store. Please consult our documentation to see if your country is included.
  14. Applications built on Native Client are now allowed in the store. To get more information visit the Native Client developer site.
  15. Later this year, we are also planning to introduce many new categories and subcategories in the store. We will announce more details on this in the Chromium blog and our developer discussion group so we encourage you to monitor these to stay up to date.
  16. Thank you for making Chrome a better experience for our users.
  17.
  18.
  19.
  20. Best Regards,
  21.
