These four pillars make up everything Monk is.

His family is threatened; the Occult Club, Haru, Aislyrizalennia and the rest of those at Shiranai he considers closer to him than anyone blacklisted, assaulted, threatened with death. He can't accept this. They mean everything to him. Haru is far from himself, and the pain and distance strikes Monk's very own soul. Aislyrizalennia freedom under fire by the Riders and Zane Hataro, pushed so far she brings up the potential to sacrifice her own heart. Her frail humanity that stopped her from fullying embracing her sin. He can't let that happen.

His belief is challenged and he won't take the loss. He lost it once, under the mighty power of Ais and the demon in the very depths he now entered to perform this maddening ritual. This drill of mana, and hellish meditation. He lost it all as his efforts were shattered there. He wouldn't lose again. Taking up arms and aiming to put forth his full belief, and the belief of those who believed in him into his magic. Into his very spirit.

Determination; the fire of his very soul, the sparks that shoot off in those eyes as he stands in the face of the greatest opposition he's ever known. The madness and stubborn will, the balls to risk his very life on a hunch, on hours of research for a myth. Channeling all of the mana he can, along with his very own life energy. Meaning he bets his life... and failure will surely take it.

Perception.

From the moment he arrived he sought the knowledge to see more. To see everything. To see the truth of the school, of this world, of everything. And his sight's been proven too weak, too out of touch. He couldn't see them. Ventru and the Green Rider surpassed anything his sight was capable of capturing, and he wouldn't allow himself to be held back anymore. He wouldn't allow his Ajna Chakra to be restricted, and the divine power he sought to be kept from him any longer. This is his obsesssion... This is his goal. He won't fail, failure is death. And the things at stake... were beyond just his own obsession.

He had to protect everything he loved with his own two hands. With the power he'd throw everything away for. A contradiction that only fueled his motivation.

What is the moment:
Sachiko Ueda's DC and The Riders warped sense of justice won't stand. Tyranny won't stand. Heroes won't stand. With his defeat at the hands of the Shiranai Rider Green and Ventru Head of the Sports Club said and done with Monk resigns to the darkness of the caves below the school, meeting at the pentagram that lurks at the depths. His bestfriend's blacklisting... Everything Haru lost. Everything had to be paid back in full.

Aislyrizalennia's freedom, and his sight. To be free and to see, there stood a conflict that struck with unseen force as they clashed. Trying to dictate who would be the one to sacrifice a part of themselves, or their lives entirely to gain the power to protect the other. The answer's simple:

As a man he has to be the one to put it all on the line for the sake of those he cares for.

The threats against his club, the threat to his school, and the goal he set out to achieve here in the first place. This power was his goal from the beginning, the power of his humanity... and how he wished to manifest that power with the legendary texts of the Occult world. Whether or not it's successful... His life depends on it. Channeling all of his life energy into this spell, it's failure will prove to be fatal.

Taking up the seal of Solomon, the ultimate power of ancient magus. The blade and chalice, possessing a perfect unison of both the masculine and feminine, the negative and positive energies of the universe. The powers of life and death resign in this seal, and only giving both life and death opens the door to this power.
