  2. Narrator has connected.
  3. Avara has connected.
  4. Avara: updated etna in the pc box using the Character Creation macro.
  5. Narrator: \o/
  6. You have disconnected.
  7. Grace has connected.
  8. Narrator has connected.
  9. Grace: ^w^/
  10. Actinidia has connected.
  11. Grace: Should I fill in the new stats on here then?
  12. Avara has connected.
  13. Narrator: The character creation button should help you set up everything you need.
  14. Grace: I completely forgot about that. I just punched in stuff on the edit section of her token. ^^;
  15. * Narrator pats Grace.
  16. Avara is disconnected.
  17. Grace: So... With me no longer bein' a tard about the system, Grace pretty much got an increase in every stat 'cept dex and com. Dex dropped a point, and Com stays at her socially akward 0. I dropped Blaze Kick, and Swords dance for Metor Mash, Focus Blast, and I redid the talents so I get Double Kick too... that costs 1 PP.
  18. DNA: Dropping Blaze Kick was not something I expected - but, that's fine. I also kinda expected Metal Claw instead of MM
  19. Narrator: Did you notice Blaze Kick now does penetrating damage?
  20. Narrator: But Metal Claw does too iirc
  21. DNA: Yes, Metal Claw and Blaze Kick both deal penetrating damage
  22. Grace: Metal Claw is good, but Metor mash can be flexible in how it do. And I don't wanna give up the bone staff because it's so cool. ;w;
  23. DNA: The perk of Meteor Mash is it can extend the STR bonus to +2 instead
  24. DNA: I don't remember if Bone Rush penetrates now
  25. DNA: It does
  26. Actinidia: It sounds like you might like Elementalist.
  27. Grace: Yep, It's penetrating
  28. Grace: And I went with Meteor Mash considering the idea of her dropkicking something that hard just... connected with me on the right levels.
  29. Actinidia: My stats are where I want them. I dropped Leaf Tornado from my tutored moves. Since I have Psybeam as of level 4, I've got a pretty good AoE move with a more controlable range.
  30. Avara has connected.
  31. Grace: Noice
  32. Narrator: So, the idea was to uh
  33. Avara: we're going to the radio stations!
  34. Actinidia: We were going to see Uraruren on the way
  35. DNA: Yeah, I remember that. Thankfully this shouldn't be a combat-heavy session. ...Or so I hope.
  36. Narrator: SO YOU HOPE
  37. Grace: DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN
  38. DNA: SO I HOPE
  39. Actinidia: HOPE RANGER GREEN!
  40. DNA: BUT EVEN IF IT IS THEN I SHOULD BE OKAY ANYWAY
  41. Avara: combat on the first map?
  42. Narrator: Oh right. The NBC4 tower.
  43. Grace: Ye!
  44. Narrator: Following day, correct?
  45. DNA: Correct.
  46. Actinidia: Yes, and Hjadvir was put in charge as our spokesperson.
  47. Narrator: Oh gawd this is gonna sound horrible.
  48. Narrator: What fucking day is it
  49. DNA: Let me check.
  50. Actinidia: ...praise the sun?
  51. Narrator: Yeah. Apparently I haven't dropped it for like, 3 sessions.
  52. DNA: ...uh oh.
  53. Narrator: It was Tuesday session 19.
  54. Narrator: Well, started Monday and went to Tuesday. Then you guys traveled out, found the boom box and returned home. Reported stuff, dropped off goods and then found out about the towers and stuff. Okay so, it'd be Wednesday this morning.
  55. DNA: Oh, then that would make it Wednesday.
  56. DNA: I didn't see a 'Tuesday' on the session 19 log, so I feared how far back I'd have to dig.
  57. Narrator: You guys slept in log 19. So its further in.
  58. Narrator: Alright, let's just start it the next day.
  59. July 28th, Wednesday.
  60. 71 degrees with 61 degree humidity. It feels nice.
  61. 12 mph wind blowing southeast.
  62. It's Sunny.
  63. Actinidia: Actinidia gears up. Her vest on, backpack ready and hat tilted juuust right.
  64. Grace Leonhardt: Grace has her things at the ready, backpack on, jacket under her ponco and ready to go.
  65. Pierce Mars Oswell: Mars stretches and arises, a bit groggy after waking up. He had to blink a few times to get used to the light, and had to shake himself awake, but didn't look any the worse for wear. He was ready to go.
  66. Actinidia: Actinidia spread her arms wide for the sun!
  67. Actinidia: "Today is a good day."
  68. Etna: Etna rouses herself from comfortable sleep, feeling some tricks slip into place in her mind, as others are lost to dreamland. "Good morning."
  69. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will streach, getting a few cracks out of her back, before letting out a sigh of contentment. "Here's hopin'. Mornin'!"
  70. Alvarex: Alvarex approaches your, newly awakening, group cautious and stares intently at Actinidia. Waiting.
  71. Actinidia: Actinidia looked to her son. "Good morning sweetie."
  72. DNA: So, quick question, is it okay for me to leave any unneeded inventory back at the White House while we go off adventuring? I say this as I have a few things I'm holding on to that I currently don't have a use for.
  73. Narrator: Yeah. This place is your home. Just note what's with you and what isn't.
  74. DNA: Of course.
  75. Alvarex: Alvarex waves with his tail in greeting, "Praise the sun."
  76. DNA: PRAISE THE SUN
  77. Actinidia: Actinidia smiled, "We have been blessed with the weather, haven't we."
  78. Alvarex: Alvarex sits awkwardly for a moment still, "So brother Setszas hasn't returned yet." Alvarex notes, "I don't doubt he's okay and all but, I was just wondering if it'd be alright if I left as well. To find, potential....female....recruits?"
  79. Alvarex: "Add in some diversity."
  80. Actinidia: "He hasn't, but said he would be a day or two longer." Actinidia smilled, "And I blessed his journey, I will likewise bless yours. I only ask that you find companions to look out for you while you do."
  81. Alvarex: Alvarex sighs, "Companion?" Alvarex frowns, "But how can I breed, I-I-I mean, find potential beautiful recruits with some other guys holding me down?"
  82. Alvarex: Alvarex sighs, "What if they want to, you know, join in?"
  83. DNA: I must see how this ends
  84. Etna: "... Get friends from different breeding groups."
  85. Alvarex: Alvarex looks around, "...the only ones like that are you guys."
  86. Etna: "Consider it an on-the-road option, then. Aside from that, you could work out terms ahead of time. And not everyone is as interested in breeding as you are."
  87. Grace Leonhardt: "And uh... there's kinda more to companionship beyond well... 'breeding'."
  88. Actinidia: Actinidia held back a laugh. "Well well... that might be your motivation but your safety is my concern. You should find companions with different tastes. Or bring along ladies who might share your taste in bodytypes so you can work together. And having companions doesn't mean you wont find mates. After all, I've never traveled alone and I had you. And trust me, if I had traveled alone I wouldn't have lived long enough for that to have happened."
  89. Janet: "I'll go with you." Janet says, standing a distance away.
  90. Alvarex: Alvarex flinched at the sound of Janet's voice, "No way. You're always...watching me."
  91. Janet: "Yeah. I am. What about it?"
  92. Alvarex: Alvarex looks very uncomfortable, "...Uh, why I suppose?"
  93. Janet: "I'm waiting."
  94. Actinidia: Perception Empathy on Janet. Is she harboring feelings toward her son? Or is she just interested in tagging along?
  95. Alvarex: "For....what exactly?" Alvarex asks and Janet just shrugs in response.
  96. Actinidia: Empathy 3+3+4+1=11 (STUNT! 3 Stunt Points)
  97. Actinidia: Or was it insight?
  98. Actinidia: one of htem
  99. Narrator: Emathy is correct.
  100. Actinidia: Actinidia covers her smile with a hand.
  101. Alvarex: "Uh, look. You're a girl and all, and that'd be great but-" Alvarex pauses and thinks, "You're just uh, a tad uhm, creepy. You know?"
  102. Janet: "...Come again?"
  103. * Pierce Mars Oswell happens to trot into the room at this point.
  104. Actinidia: "Now now Alvarex. You're not going to swoon anyone acting like that."
  105. Alvarex: "Every time I turn around you're there! Staring at me! It's unnerving - and I know you don't have that ability!" Alvarex shudders after speaking.
  106. Alvarex: Alvarex glances at Actinidia and nods, "Yes, ma."
  107. Etna: "..." Etna is struggling to resist the urge to poke fun.
  108. Grace Leonhardt: Grace gives a small wave to Mars with a quick, "Mornin'!"
  109. Janet: Janet turns slowly to Actinidia, "You want someone to be with him, right? I can do it."
  110. Pierce Mars Oswell: Mars glances towards Grace's voice, "Oh, hello there." And makes his way over to where the others are standing.
  111. Actinidia: Actinidia takes her time looking over Janet.
  112. Grace Leonhardt: Grace leans over to Mars, "We're mainly just gearing up, and Alva might head out to gather... companions. He might have found one already."
  113. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Ahhhh. I understand." He nods, as if he understood perfectly. Though he could be faking it.
  114. Actinidia: "You care about my son, but something is also troubling you. I trust you to look after him, but can I trust you to also look after yourself?"
  115. Janet: Janet raises an eyebr-leafbrow?-to Actinidia's request, "Uh, sure? I'm not gonna suicide or anything. If that's what you're worried about."
  116. Janet: Janet smirks and looks over to Alvarex, "See? Even your pretty mother thinks I should go with you. So, we going today? You seemed like you were in a hurry."
  117. Alvarex: Alvarex's eyes go wide before he slumps abit and mumbles something under his breath.
  118. Actinidia: HEARING! 4+3+3+3=13 (STUNT! 4 Stunt Points)
  119. Janet: "I'm going to grab a few things." Janet turns and starts walking toward the deeper parts of the white house, "Don't leave without me, Alva."
  120. Actinidia: "Fufu... well treat her nicely Alvarex. Women are savvy creatures. We watch how men treat those they don't want to sleep with."
  121. Alvarex: Alvarex sighs, "And now I'm graded because of the people with me." Alvarex looks to alvarex, "Are you sure I can't just go alone?"
  122. Actinidia: "And the two of you should try to find at least one other." Actinidia looked at her notebook, "Aside from your fire bite, you've got a pretty heavy set of grass moves."
  123. Alvarex: Alvarex attempts persuasion! 1+4+1+0=6 (STUNT! 1 Stunt Point)
  124. Alvarex: (( Should be a +3. Stupid numlock never working. So - 9!! ))
  125. Actinidia: 20+Mother
  126. Actinidia: "No, you may not."
  127. Actinidia: Resistance (Self-Discipline)
  128. Alvarex: Alvarex sighs, "Yes, ma. I'll go get ready to travel with Janet."
  129. Alvarex: Alvarex walks deeper into the white house slowly.
  130. Actinidia: Actinidia turned to her allies. "Janet'll take care of him. She taught me Giga Drain, she knows her stuff."
  131. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Alvarex's lack of experience with fishing is showing."
  132. Grace Leonhardt: Grace gives her a thumbs up. "Glad you got through to him on that one."
  133. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Talks a big game, but can't even tell when the line is actually biting."
  134. Actinidia: "He's not interested in snakes. Hence his journey."
  135. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Ah."
  136. Actinidia: "I can't say if he'd notice if he was though."
  137. Actinidia: "Anyway, I'm ready to go."
  138. Grace Leonhardt: "All my ducks are in a row too, so Im' good."
  139. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...yeah. The sooner the better."
  140. Etna: "Ready to go."
  141. Actinidia: We're going!
  142. Avara: we go!
  143. Narrator: To confirm: You were revisiting the spinaraks first, correct?
  144. Actinidia: yes
  145. Grace Leonhardt: yar
  146. Avara: yeah, checking on uraruren is the plan
  147. DNA: Indeed.
  148. Narrator: 15
  149. Avara: high roller
  150. Narrator: Yep! Means an ENCOUNTER!
  151. Narrator: Aren't you happy DNA?:D
  152. Narrator: Lesse....travel to the place will take about 2.25 hours.
  153. Narrator: Leaving at what? 8 am?
  154. DNA: I don't know, am I?
  155. Narrator: I unno. But yah, gimme a time to work with.
  156. Grace Leonhardt: I'd say about that or 9.
  157. Narrator: GREAT! 9
  158. Avara: also, just to be clear:
  159. Avara: eating ration on the way out.
  160. Time: 11.15 am.
  161. Narrator: Good idea!
  162. Avara: leaving my rations in the food stock.
  163. Avara: all of them.
  164. DNA: Yeah, I deducted my ration for the day at the start of the session.
  165. Avara: i'm just leaing all my food in the stockpile. we don't NEED to carry food with us unless there's a chance we'll be out for a full day.
  166. Actinidia: My most up to date token is on the PCs map. We've been jumping around for a bit now so I wasn't sure which one was "current".
  167. You arrive at the hotel you were in when this transformation first occured. Flashes of your human lives hit you in the face (even if you never actively thought about it since the start). Your time as humans and coordinating online to come to Otakon. Mars getting the security gig and the rest enjoying their cosplay. The day meeting gundams, jessie and james and acting out a few scenes and the time you all returned to the hotel after a long, active day and slept. Then being awakened by the horrific sound of crashes, explosions, screaming and quakes.
  168. Avara: PC box token is the one up to date for me as well
  169. Grace Leonhardt: Grace shivers a touch at the recall of the sounds, and the off feeling nostalgia for her last day of humanity. She doesn't vocalize her thoughts, but it's kinda apparent with her expression.
  170. The moment of realization and escaping your rooms only to be attacked by Houndour and then later, Spinarak. Though the Spinarak is why you've returned here. To this building.
  171. Actinidia: "... feels like an age..."
  172. Actinidia: "A different lifetime.. why is it still so clear?"
  173. * Pierce Mars Oswell walks into the hotel, but doesn't say anything - he's looking around for where the Spinarak are resting.
  174. Etna: Etna waks up to the front door, and bumps against the frame with her foot a few times to simulate knocking.
  175. Narrator: Hmm.
  176. Actinidia: "... do they know what knocking is?"
  177. Etna: "Trying is a good way to find out."
  178. Several webs fire at Mars as he enters the building!
  179. Mars suffers a -3 penalty to Speed for an hour.
  180. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...rude."
  181. Several eyes stare at him from the darkness and then fade off into the darkness as they retreat.
  182. Etna: "Excuse me, may we come in?" Etna calls into the hotel.
  183. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was a touch skittish at them webbing Pierce to all hell, but she'll look into the building from the doorway.
  184. You're greeted with the sound of silence. No sounds at all emit from the building.
  185. Narrator: Huh. Aron don't have dark vision. I kinda assumed they would.
  186. Pierce Mars Oswell: They do not, correct. "...We're here to see Urauren," he calls out. "Is she here?"
  187. Actinidia: Actinidia follows after Mars.
  188. several webs also hit Actinidia!
  189. -3 Speed for an hour.
  190. Actinidia: Actinidia does have dark vision.
  191. Narrator: I don't suppose any of you have light sources.
  192. Actinidia: "I don't know what I was expecting. They've been busy hunting."
  193. Grace Leonhardt: Grace jumps a touch, but nowhere near the first webbing case. "You alright Act?"
  194. Actinidia: "Yeah, just a bit... sticky."
  195. Pierce Mars Oswell: Let me check...
  196. Pierce Mars Oswell: ...I have a flint, but not a lantern. Weird.
  197. Actinidia: "Hello?" Actinidia asked, "Haftftu?" She tried the same word in human.
  198. Actinidia: "The closest thing I have to a light would be my cell phone. I never got around to trying it."
  199. An Ariados, seven feet two inches stall, slowly comes down from a thread of silk until it descends to the ground and stands before you.
  200. Actinidia: Does the ariados look familiar? Or like it intends to attack?
  201. Ariados: Ariados inhales deeply, taking in your scent and tilts its head looking at you intently.
  202. Grace Leonhardt: Grace doesn't remember seeing any Airados's last time they were here, but then again bugs tend to evolve quickly in the games. She'll just give a slightly nervous wave from the doorway.
  203. Actinidia: "I am Actinidia. I am a friend of Uraruren, if she has returned."
  204. Ariados: "You smell like Runt." Ariados says bluntly, "There were four of you. Were you all so weak half of you died without Runt with you?"
  205. Actinidia: "The other two are outside. Since we were met with webbing they're likely hesitant to come in."
  206. * Etna is going to walk in, since it's been a while and nobody's answered her calling in.
  207. Ariados: "Oh, yes, yes." Ariados bows as well as a spider could, "We do apologize. Had we known you were coming, we'd likely have used the webbing to pull you deeper into our abode rather than just lashing at you. But, precautions. You understand. It's a dangerous place."
  208. Actinidia: "To be honest, that would have been more alarming. I'm just happy I wasn't harmed."
  209. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...That's fine," Mars notes, trying his best to get what webbing off he possibly can. "Though I'm not sure how we could have given advance notice very well."
  210. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will follow in after, considering she doesn't wanna miss anything.
  211. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...But that's neither here nor there."
  212. Ariados: Ariados notices Etna and Grace as they enter without moving, "...So the four of you live, yet." Ariados chuckles, "Runt was telling the truth after all."
  213. Ariados: "Runt came with much information and taught us even more in how the world outside works, and how we work inside. We are more effective than ever." Ariados chittered happily, "I was right in sending my daughter with you."
  214. Actinidia: "Could we meet with her?"
  215. Ariados: "As promised, our alliance with you remains. If you're here worried we'll expand and try to take your territory, you needn't. But if you expand, be sure to tell us what you control. We don't want to overtake something you own."
  216. Ariados: "What? Meet with Runt?" Ariados shakes her head, "Impossible. The child scurried off in anger last night."
  217. Actinidia: "Do you know where?"
  218. * Etna silently watches, giving off a little huff at Ariados not being able to keep track of Ura. And calling her Runt all the time.
  219. Grace Leonhardt: Grace was in the same state as etna, but she holds her tongue/expressing her thoughts due to being on their home turf.
  220. Actinidia: Actinidia is keeping calm, though deep down she is having... thoughts on this ariados. It seemed in her mind conflict was inevitable, if only because of their ideologies.
  221. Ariados: Ariados shrugs as best as a spider could, "I don't, nor care. Despite all Runt's knowledge she's grown too soft. Doesn't fight like a Spinarak should. Doesn't even eat like one should."
  222. Etna: "Act, Mars, do you mind updating our friends here on what we've done, and the Seeker groups?"
  223. Etna: "I want to go see if I can find Ura."
  224. Ariados: "This thing, Runt speaks of. Do you know what it is that plagues her?" Ariados leaned in toward Mars and Actinidia, "Runt calls it compassion. It'll get her killed, I know it."
  225. Ariados: "Runt wasn't exiled, if you're worried. Runt is welcome. Always welcome."
  226. Pierce Mars Oswell: (I'll wait for Act to speak before I follow up)
  227. Ariados: "In fact, if she could be cured, I'd love for Runt to return. Get her to grow."
  228. Actinidia: "Compassion is something many of us hold dear. It can be risky, dangerous even. But the rewards of successful compassion are well worth it."
  229. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will nod her head in agreement with Act.
  230. Etna: Etna heads back out, and is going to search for signs of where Ura might have gone.
  231. Ariados: (( brb, restroom. I'll catch up on reading when I return and announce ))
  232. Actinidia: "Speaking of compassion, I'd rather catch up on our alliance later. Uraruren is a friend and worthy ally, and I would rather keep tabs on her and make sure she's out of danger. Don't worry, we know where to find you."
  233. Grace Leonhardt: "A-and yeah, blind compasion can actually be dangerous, but the rewards of expressing it can be many times over what you put in."
  234. Grace Leonhardt: "Expressing compasion in general I mean."
  235. Grace Leonhardt: "Not the blind to everyone one."
  236. Grace Leonhardt: She'll say stumbling a bit on her words, but not really backing down.
  237. Ariados: Ariados tilts her head, "...Do you remember me, lady Actinidia?"
  238. Actinidia: "We only spoke briefly, I don't know if you ever told me your name."
  239. Ariados: "I did. I'm hurt you'd forget. I'm Chieftan Abdua."
  240. Ariados: Ariados reaches out with her leg and rests it on Actinidia's shoulder, "Before you go..."
  241. Ariados: "There's something I'd like to propose, in like of your sickness."
  242. Pierce Mars Oswell: Mars looked visibly surprised. "Oh wow. You're the one in charge? I thought you were a sentry. I didn't think the leader would be so...open."
  243. Ariados: (( light ))
  244. Actinidia: "And what is your proposal?"
  245. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will look a touch worried over to Act, "Sickness?"
  246. Ariados: Ariados turns to Mars, "An Aron just waltzes into our den by his lonesome only to shortly afterward be followed in by a Snivy? After Runt has spoke at length about your victories and your familiar scent fills the place? Why would I bother sending a child to greet legends?"
  247. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...I didn't know we had that great of a reputation already."
  248. * Pierce Mars Oswell lets out a low whistle.
  249. Abdua: Abdua removes her leg from Actinidia and turns back to her, "You speak of this sickness like it breathes life. Compassion. I only seek to keep my people alive and healthy, which remains removing threats as they show themselves. A threat removed is a threat no longer. We work together as a family, as one overwhelming force. It works. It's why we took out all threats of dogs and rats that infested our home and why we're still here so strong today."
  250. Abdua: "I cannot help but feel this, compassion, you have is a sickness and self-destroying. But you say otherwise and from Runt's tutoring, are equally successful. I propose diversity so we may learn."
  251. Abdua: "I would propse we swap two dozen peoples. I know my people understand and live by my views, so why should yours be any different? It would create diversity in our two groups and we could learn what each other has to offer. Perhaps you'll see the validity in my way of and I yours."
  252. Pierce Mars Oswell: Perception Empathy - How truthful and honest is that statement? 4+1+4+3=12 (STUNT! 4 Stunt Points)
  253. Pierce Mars Oswell: Eh, I'll pick Tower of Will I guess. I can't really think of any stunts I'd use here.
  254. Narrator whispers: You have no reason to believe Abdua is saying anything dishonest. Or, at least, she isn't giving indication she's lying.
  255. Actinidia: Actinidia folded her hands together and considered this. "We see close to eye to eye, closer than you might realize. You have compassion... for your family. For those who follow your way of life. You care about your own and you protect them. So do we. Only 'our own' extends to more than just our family. I'm not going to pretend we don't forgo compassion for outside threats. There is a group called the Seekers of Blood who brutalize all those who cross their paths for the sake of brutality, and we have no compassion for them. Not unless they give up that path."
  256. Actinidia: "I cannot agree to this proposal on my own, I would need to seek council in my clan to determine who is willing to make such an exchange and what we have to bring. But you will hear a reply from us within two days."
  257. Abdua: Abdua processes this information and studies you closely, "...I see. You make valid points."
  258. Abdua: Abdua chitters appreciatively, "As you say, you know where to find us. We will check up on you if we don't hear from you. We know where to find you."
  259. DNA: ayy
  260. Actinidia: "Thank you. Now, I hope to find Uraruren soon. No one knows our two clans better than her."
  261. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...Do you have any idea where she might have gone? Or anything she said hinting at where?"
  262. Abdua: "Your desire for Runt is a noteworthy concern. I will send word down my children to see if any of them know where she may have gone. If you'll wait a moment, someone will be down shortly to share what information they may have."
  263. Abdua: "You may wait outside if you wish. I understand if my decor isn't to your liking."
  264. Abdua: Abdua turns to Mars, "I do not." Abdua looks up and spews a long thread of silk out of her spinnerrette and ascends to the ceiling.
  265. * Pierce Mars Oswell will wait in the entryway.
  266. Grace Leonhardt: Grace watches her zip right up via the power of webbings. Seeing that they had some time, Grace will try to help Act and Mars out of their sticky situation.
  267. Actinidia: Actinidia will as well, picking at her webbed up body.
  268. Narrator: I'll allow you guys to remove the debuff String Shot applies.
  269. Pierce Mars Oswell: Mars is most thankful.
  270. Actinidia: Actinidia helps Mars clean off Mars' body.
  271. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Thank you very much."
  272. Grace Leonhardt: Grace just simply gives him a thumbs up in response.
  273. Actinidia: "... that went better than I expected."
  274. Grace Leonhardt: "What she said about ura did worry me a touch..."
  275. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Yeah, I'm worried too. The last time something like this happened, she got held prisoner."
  276. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...I'd rather not have a repeat..."
  277. Jeenas: Jeenas lands with a thud before Mars and looks at him intently, "...But then she ripped off the head of a giant rock snake and ate it."
  278. Jeenas: "Didn't she? Or did she lie?"
  279. Jeenas: Jeenas twists his head as he asks.
  280. Pierce Mars Oswell: "...Yes, that's exactly what happened. To this day I still don't know how she did it."
  281. Actinidia: "She landed the finishing blow, tearing off her head. I don't think she ate it though. It was a rock."
  282. Jeenas: Jeenas vibrates with glee, "Hehehehehehehehehehe, the imagery pleases me..."
  283. Actinidia: "She's a good object lesson in why size does not matter. She's one of the most intimidating pokemon I've met when she gets going."
  284. Grace Leonhardt: "Yeah... that wasn't a lie. She did do that some how. And uh, yeah. Act said exactly what I was about to."
  285. Actinidia: "Are you here to help us find her? I don't have the nose for spider-scent."
  286. Jeenas: Jeenas tilts his head, "Hm? But size does matter. I'm sent places the Chieftan cannot go because I am smaller. My size is important to the survival of our group and the smaller one is, the better one is to spy and sabotage."
  287. Grace Leonhardt: "She means it more in a fight wise. Where you shouldn't underestimate an opponent just on their size now."
  288. Jeenas: "Though, larger folks are a bit harder to take down. Just sturdy. Unnecessarily so." Jeenas says, and stares off to the side as if remembering a battle somewhere in the past.
  289. Jeenas: "But yes, I believe I know where Uraruren may have gone." Jeenas says grinning, "I think she may have followed the sound of silence."
  290. Actinidia: "Oh, please lead the way."
  291. Grace Leonhardt: Grace will start to hum the song as she nods her head to Jeenas's words not actually knowing where he meant.
  292. Jeenas: Jeenas tilts his head, "Hm? Is that what you expected of me? Because if so, you'll be disappointed. I'm not leaving home."
  293. Pierce Mars Oswell: "In that case, what do you mean by 'the sound of silence'? Other than an incredibly catchy tune from over 50 years ago." He glances over at Grace.
  294. Jeenas: "The sound of silence is a key indication of ambush. One we employ and have learned those like us also employ. The electric and water variations of our species."
  295. Grace Leonhardt: She'll give mars a guilty look, but she won't stop.
  296. Jeenas: "Of course, there are likely others who also employ this tactic but wouldn't be able to do so from the vantage points we utilize."
  297. Jeenas: "So, if you enter an area that is especially quiet and nothing is around - you've entered the territory of another species. It is empty because it has been cleared and it is silent because you're being watched."
  298. Actinidia: Actinidia remembers this! Since she has a hearing focus she will often be Hearing while Moving.
  299. Jeenas: "Likely she went to look for places like that to find our cousins. She was desperate to teach us of consequences. Cheiftan said she should've just killed the group stupid enough to hunt you. Uraruren pleaded that it was because of her lack of compassion that the group hunted you all in the first place."
  300. Jeenas: "I want to understand how Uraruren means but Chieftan is right."
  301. Jeenas: "Even you all know that the group who attacked you will return to do so again but they'll be better prepared after experiencing your combat first hand. You'll be at a disadvantage next time you meet."
  302. Jeenas: "If you had just killed them the first encounter...you'd be devoid of worry and better fed."
  303. Actinidia: "But if you had befriended them in the first encounter, your numbers would be higher, stronger and more diverse."
  304. Grace Leonhardt: "And not all incounters need to come changing into a fight..."
  305. Jeenas: "Perhaps, depending on their reason for attack. Though, it sounded like vengeance or someone paid them to hunt you. In those circumstances there's no reasoning, only conflict. And extended conflict is bad for your numbers."
  306. Jeenas: Jeenas tilts his head in thought about your explanations some more, "...I am thinking now. Thinking of possibilities. I still do not see them turning out better but I see what Chieftan means for us to swap numbers and learn from one another."
  307. Jeenas: "Your view is so different. Alien. But has logic in its madness. I wish to experience more of your perspective."
  308. Actinidia: "Ah, I remember that group. And you might be right and letting them go may have been a risk, but killing them is also a risk. You see, relationships can be a lot like webs, connecting different groups and different people. I wasn't sure I wanted to kill that group because they were a part of a larger web I couldn't see. I didn't know who their friends and allies where, or worse, I didn't know if we shared friends and allies that would be lost or turned against me."
  309. Grace Leonhardt: "Well... at a minimum you're no longer just being spiders. You've got stronger thinking capacity than before this happened. Change happened, and sticking with being webbing up or well... not holding back during a fight needs to change too. You can't accept everyone with open arms... there's a group out there on my mind that would do well... terrible things if they did. But just because one group of... pokemon do, doesn't mean everyone does."
  310. Jeenas: (( I noticed rob was typing and decided to wait until he finished before I responded. ))
  311. Actinidia: "You can spare people for reasons other than compassion. It's worth noting that your chieftan spared us when we first crossed paths, simply because we had something she wanted; information."
  312. Actinidia: ((done typing))
  313. Jeenas: "This is true and it paid off fantastically." Jeenas notes, "And now you're family. And you've grown since we first saw you. And it's beautiful."
  314. Jeenas: "Listen, give what Chieftan proposed some good thought. She trusts you and really does care for Uraruren. She's just..." Jeenas pauses for a moment, "She has everyone else to worry about and Uraruren was very forceful with her about her realization. Things didn't end on a good note for them - but she worries. I worry."
  315. Jeenas: "If you see Uraruren, tell her that her brother misses her. And that, I'm sorry. She'll understand."
  316. Actinidia: "Uraruren is very strong, in body and in spirit. She's going to be stubborn. I can see why things went bad. I am very relieved no one was hurt over it."
  317. Jeenas: "Hurt? No matter how much disagreement or yelling happened, Chieftan wouldn't raise a mandible to Uraruren. Is fighting how disagreements are solved in your group?"
  318. Actinidia: "But~" Actinidia smiled, "Back to my first point. I want something from other people too. 'Pleasant company'. And this is where compassion starts to come in. Anyone can be pleasant company, so I have to befriend all sorts of groups. And then I have to keep all of those groups from fighting and killing each other. And because all relationships are webs, and vengence can spiral out of control, that is why I spare others. That is why I show compasion."
  319. Actinidia: "Fighting isn't how we settle disagreements, no. I shouldn't presume that's how you do it, you are a very caring group. I'm just not quite used to how selectively you show caring, or how easy or hard it is to end up on the outside of that group."
  320. Actinidia: ((are we looking for Uraruren? We never actually stated))
  321. Actinidia: Actinidia listens for the sound of Silence. Perception (Hearing) 4+4+2+3=13 (STUNT! 4 Stunt Points)
  322. Actinidia: no stunts
  323. Jeenas: (( Etna did I think but I didn't see any rolls for it - plus I think she's being respectful about party splitting ))
  324. Avara: ^
  325. Avara: etna left early to search for clues, but i wanted to let things play out first
  326. Avara: watching y'all is fun
  327. Jeenas: "There it is again. Logic and madness, in the same sentence!" Jeenas chuckled, "I will think your compassionate web over in my personal moments. Family doesn't wrong one another. One who does, or would, is not family. You and I, we are family." Jeenas nods.
  328. Pierce Mars Oswell: "I'm not sure if I would describe considering others' interests as madness. But, I appreciate the thought." Mars manages a smile, though it's hard to see under the helmet.
  329. Actinidia: "Let me listen for a bit. I might at least be able to hear Etna."
  330. Avara: 12 minutes to game time over, so i think the search for ura itself will be a next session thing?
  331. Narrator: it was a slow start - for a lot of reasons. But I'm glad people had the opportunity to update fully.
  332. Narrator: Be sure to exit the place before you begin your advanced test.
  333. DNA: Ask me that again in an hour!
  334. Avara: heh.
  335. Actinidia: Then we exit the place and make an advanced test?
  336. Narrator: Go for it. It's an advanced Perception (Hearing) test. TN11 with a Threshold of 13.
  337. Actinidia: Roll One! 5+2+4+3=14
  338. Narrator: Each test will consume 2 minutes of time based on your pokemon die. High is low and low is high. (6 is 2 minutes and 1 is 12 minutes)
  339. Actinidia: Roll two! 5+3+4+3=15
  340. Narrator: What sort of perception test were you making to search for clues etna? And what clues were you looking for?
  341. Narrator: You're at 10 threshold thus far, Actinidia.
  342. Actinidia: Roll three! 1+1+2+3=7 (STUNT! 1 Stunt Point)
  343. Avara: perception (sight), looking for things like bits of web, ura-size bite marks, and anything else ura-related that might be a trail.
  344. Actinidia: Roll four! 2+4+5+3=14
  345. Actinidia: Roll five! 2+2+5+3=12 (STUNT! 2 Stunt Points)
  346. Actinidia: There we are. Five rolls to hit the threshold.
  347. Narrator: Your last roll wasn't needed.
  348. Actinidia: Roll three didn't meet the TN
  349. Narrator: No, but roll four did.
  350. Avara: which left act at 12/13
  351. Narrator: Oh, so it didn't.
  352. DNA: You fool! Also, it's late.
  353. Narrator: Actinidia stands in place for 40 minutes, listening intently on all the sounds around her with her eyes closed. She focuses intently on the sounds and sounds alone, pinpointing where sounds are and aren't, where sounds originate and echo and where sounds fade and go silent.
  354. Narrator: Give me your perception (sight) roll, Etna.
  355. Avara: 6+2+4+0=12
  356. Narrator: (( NOICE! ))
  357. Grace Leonhardt: *golf clap*
  358. Narrator: Okay, information has been distributed.
  359. Narrator: We'll re-unite your groups, let information pass and then call it a day.
  360. Narrator: Sound fair?
  361. Actinidia: Sure!
  362. Grace: Sounds fair!
  363. DNA: Fine by me.
  364. Narrator: Ava may be afk
  365. Narrator: Folks still here?
  366. Actinidia: yes
  367. Narrator: I guess Skype is just being a dick. It shows everyone as offline.
  368. DNA: I am here, yes.
  369. Narrator: I guess with Ava being offline, Actinidia can just share what she learned without Etna being around.
  370. Narrator: And just cover that portion next week.
  371. Actinidia: "There is a lot going on underground. Construction, explosions, destruction.. something."
  372. Actinidia: "To the south is where things are the most quiet.
  373. Pierce Mars Oswell: "The south... That's where the church and the radio tower are."
  374. Grace Leonhardt: "Yeah, we're heading that way too."
  375. Actinidia: "We also can't ignore underground for long. Too much is happening there."
  376. Pierce Mars Oswell: "Right, where the affectionately named 'Doctor Death' has his base."
  377. Avara is disconnected.
  378. Grace is disconnected.
  379. Grace has connected.
  380. Grace: Sorry map tool freaked out on me for a sec
  381. Avara has connected.
  382. Narrator: It's 'kay.
  383. Narrator: Iiiii think it's safe to say 'the steam was lost' and we should just call it.
  384. Actinidia: probably
  385. Narrator: Alright gimme a sec for calc
  386. Narrator: XP: 350
