So I decided to do something unusually autistic and create quick “description-origins” of all the characters in the thread so far, maybe a little bit of alignments and less shitty names.

Name: The Silencer

Background: A regional manager for Megacorp, Anon lived a mundane life ordering around folks they thought little of, taking orders from people they thought even less of. However, one day a mysterious new shipment from the research division arrived in their office in the form of a Silencer v1 helmet, coming in the form of a pair of bulky wireless headphones. Stealing it for themselves, they discover the ability to negate any and all sounds, and use it to take revenge on the filthy mutant race, and make a quick buck or two on the side.

Name: Akka (Hey, they already picked a god)

Background: Born of a wealthy Scandinavian family, anon lived a privileged childhood. Suddenly thrown out of the house to make a fortune of their own however, they found themselves without any useful skills on the streets. That is, until they discovered their true heritage as a reincarnation of the spirit Akka. Inhumanly attractive and rich beyond their wildest dreams, they find themselves back on the high life, spending their days blowing money and getting blow on an international scale. The mutants can wait.

Name: Soulmancer

Background: Anon just always “got” people. They loved to see how they ticked, where they felt comfortable, where they felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately, this made anon quite the little shit as a child, and even today most feel slightly unnerved around anon. And they should, because as of late anon’s discovered the ability they always knew they had. With their powers of inducement, they can control people as they wish, causing emotions, beliefs, inspiration, disease, pain, even death in others at their command. Needless to say, don’t fuck with Soulmancer.

Background: Anon’s ambitions are grand. They see the world not as it is, but as it could be, and as they see it, so it is. Their ascension to godhood came rather recently, and yet it feels almost as if it were an eternity ago. No matter. Their ability comes in the form of absolute destruction.  They can destroy any concept, be it death, immortality, will, faith, hope, or otherwise. Certain concepts are more heavily anchored than others (for example, immortal beings are far harder to destroy than mortal beings), but with enough application of will, it is possible for Divios to destroy anything and everything. Godlike abilities in tow, they set off on a journey to reshape existence as they see fit.

Name: Joker’s Wild

Background: Anon never really struggled much in life. They didn’t achieve much, but they never were too challenged. Whenever they came up against an obstacle, they just sort of went with the flow and things just… solved themselves. Now thrust into this new strange world of heroes and mutants and villains, they find that oftentimes their abilities react just the same. Gifted with pre-emptive adaption, Joker’s Wild has the power to gain abilities as needed. Weak at first, as their experience grows, so do their list of powers. It’s quite possible that they might one day need their powers, not just to save their family, but to save the world.

Background: To Anon, the world is a big ball of shit. Hypocritical superheroes find excuses to pick fights with each other rather than try and tackle the real issues that the world faces. But they have a plan to truly reveal them all for the monsters they’ve become, and to get revenge on them for taking away what was dearest to them. They know the secrets the so called heroes hide from the world, and they plan on making good use of them. These heroes won’t know what hit them.

Name: Bronze Booster

Background: Anon lives life to the fullest. Star athlete and overall /fit/ person, they push themselves to the limits. And when a gang of mutants made the mistake of kidnapping their family, it felt as though a golden opportunity had opened up, never mind their new ability to push their body beyond what feeble limits they had before. Harder, better, faster, and indeed stronger than the next guy, Bronze Booster goes for the gold. They fight for glory and glory alone. God help any poor soul that finds themselves in their path.

Background: Anon was never a fighter. Never a runner, never an actor, never a go-up-and-getter. No, Anon was at home behind the scenes. They were truly at home in the world of politics, where they could plan and scheme to their heart’s content. But positions of power come at great risk, risks that often put their life in danger. Danger that has now come to a forefront with the disappearance of their entire family. But anon knows better than to go after criminals alone. Rounding up the best bounty hunters money can buy, they spend their days making campaign runs, and their nights fighting crime with a variey of powerful partners. But, with their ability to negate any ability that comes their way, fighting crime is just a bit easier than one would expect.

Background: Anon’s always been lost in their imaginations. While they can talk with others and interact with the “real world”, they’ve always been more comfortable with the world of the internet, or the world that they can make for their own. And now orphaned without a family in sight, they find themselves returning once again to that world, now visualized as a physical dimension within their mind. Retreating into themselves, they spend their days as god of their own small dimension. However, it’s entirely possible that one day, circumstances may force them to return to the world they left…

Background: Anon’s never been spectacular. Just a good person. Growing up as a good Christian child in Minnesota, seeing the world never appealed to them. Of course, things didn’t turn out that way. After mutants kidnapped their parents, they find themselves thrust out into the high flying life of superheroes and luxury cars. Never mind staying true to their religion, staying true to anything seems to be incredibly difficult in this new form of life, and they’ll need to if they want to find their parents and get back to the life they knew. Until then, they just do what they’ve always done: The right thing.

Name: The Divine Interceptor

Background:  Everyone is bound to their own fates, even Anon. Their lot in life is to take fortunes for others, be they the poor, the wealthy, the righteous, the unjust, be they who they may, as long as the customers have money Anon is willing to read their fortunes. But, for a price, Anon is willing to shape those destinies as well. They can only change destines as if they were a CYOA, swapping one outcome for another, and oftentimes the outcomes chosen can transpire in strange ways, but regardless it is a potent power. The Divine Interceptor prefers to stay on the outskirts, manipulating events to their benefit. But while they prefer to stay out of the action, oftentimes the action finds them anyways.

Name: Warp-Attack

Background: Anon isn’t fast. That’s not their thing. Never in school, never outside of school have they ever been exceptionally good at running. They are good at teleporting. It’s been a trait they’ve had since they were young, though it never fully activated like this until recently. With this power, Anon can blink in and out of existence a short distance, which when used at a fast enough WPS (warps per second) can allow them to move much faster than normal. Anon mostly uses this power to steal things and grab shit, but it would only be a matter of time before they found themselves in way deeper shit than they ever intended to get in. But, organized crime does make for a pretty neat diversion when not browsing /co/.

Name: Meat Grinder

Background: What happened before Anon got their abilities is not important. They lived a dull, mundane 9-5 white collar workweek. They hadn’t talked to their extended family in years. They had no attachment to life itself. And yet, with this newfound ability, Anon had found something worth living for. Violence. These days, much of the wastes of Canada have become a warzone, tens of thousands of soldiers constantly marching against the walking army they had become. Able to murder hundreds with a wave of their hand, hundreds of times faster and stronger than any other creature on Earth, they were nigh unkillable. They are the incarnation of death itself, and they seek nothing more than the annihilation of life itself.

Background: Looking back on where their lives went wrong, most would say sometime after college, or perhaps marriage. The cynical would say birth. But Anon can pinpoint exactly where their life went wrong. It was the day they discovered three things. First, their single mother had been kidnapped and killed by mutant revolutionaries. Secondly, their father was actually a wolf deity, and was also dead. Thirdly, as the oldest in the family de facto, they were now ruler of all warewolves. Turns out that furries were just as uncomfortable in real life as they were on the internet. But, the gig comes with insane magical and power resistance, plus immortality, reign over animals, biogenesis, godly aura, the usual godly gig. So it isn’t all bad.

Name: Hell or High Water (usually referred to as Hellwater)

Background: Anon wouldn’t consider themselves mean, they just aren’t good. They are truly the ultimate assassin, able to summon water directly from hell with the ability to manipulate it as they please. Currently they can only summon about two liters of the stuff at a time, but they can manipulate it within a radius of 30 meters with a suprising degree of accuracy. Also it burns/kills on contact with organic matter. Anon mainly uses this power for whoever’s the highest bidder, though this tends to almost always be on the wrong side of right. But they are fairly pleasant to be around.

Name: Magical Maestro

Background: To Anon, magic is an art. It is an art that splashes upon the screen in dazzling display for all to see. It is beauty in its purist form, and it is also something that for most of Anon’s life they have been unable to use. The only in their family, and indeed in their community unable to use even a lick of magic. But a few deals with some unsavory fellows later, and Anon discovered something far better than magical tricks. Channeling their raw reserves, they can fire out pure bolts of energy that can be shifted into various shapes and forms, most resembling life. But while they’ve discovered their abilities, they now find themselves in the unfortunate service of some of the worst criminals on the planet, with a debt seemingly impossible to pay.

Name: Retcon (couldn’t think up anything cooler)

Background: Anon’s always wanted a second change. All the mistakes in their life, all the relationships burned, the opportunities lost due to minute fuckups, unforeseeable circumstances. Most recently, the death of their daughter, the only thing left in their life. However, bestowed with the powers of a cosmic watch, Anon becomes Retcon, the one who can travel through time. But when they travel back, they discover something new: their daughter is missing. Now on the hunt for revenge, Retcon travels the lands, looking for leads, and perhaps revenge.

Name: Shadow’s Edge

Background: Anon never needed the powers over darkness. The ability to summon a realm made of pure blackness, and the associated ability to craft sentient beings of dark from them never perked their interest. But circumstances happen. The world is a fucked up place at the moment, and if anyone is going to fix it it’s going to be Shadow’s Edge. At least, if they can get people to see them as an actual hero.

Name: Firephaze

Background: Anon likes lasers. Anon likes swords. One day, Anon gained the power to make swords from lasers. This is… rather helpful to their ends, which mainly include putting a blade in anything they can reasonably justify putting a blade in. And yet, justice always finds itself getting back into their life, and while Firephaze is certainly no friend of justice at the moment, perhaps they may be one day.

Name: Kid Bristle

Background: The concept of sidekicks isn’t quite as popular these days as they once were, but Anon is an exception in more ways than one. They’re also a villainous sidekick. Why villains even need sidekicks as opposed to standard henchmen is a question for another day. Anon is also an exception in the sense that they are currently a sidekick without a villain to their name. But, they can psychically commune with any and all brooms with an insanely large radius, which is a plus to an extent.

Name: Wastelander

Background: Unlike other godly positions, Mur’groh, the god of the demonic plane, sits in a throne chosen by semi-democratic policies. Fate chooses another vicar fit to rule over the raw, limitless energies of hell, and all the unchosen souls within it. However, destiny oftentimes has another choice, and in this case that choice was Anon. Suddenly ripped out from their ambitions as an intern at a fortune 500 company, they find themselves suddenly heir to far more than they bargained for.  The realm of gods is far more dangerous than anyone could have accounted for, especially now that certain figures have taken it upon themselves to kill as many as they can. However, like any good intern, Anon is ambitious, and knows how to suck up. And when their heights are set in the literal heavens, there’s quite a bit of sucking to do.

Name: Chrono Queen

Background: The title was hereditary, Anon would probably be saying right now if inquired about the name. Their mother, a famous time based superhero, was world renowned, popular, and indeed quite the charmer. Anon didn’t inherit the time controlling genes. Instead, Anon developed the ability to mentally slow time, gaining Spider-Sense like reflexes, and an inhuman level of precision. Anon isn’t a god by any means, but they certainly know how to use their abilities well.
