I am Tyrell, I am a recent graduate of The Iron Yard Back End class in Dallas. The 12 week class covered all things .Net with emphasis on MVC using C#. I very much enjoyed learning .Net and related technologies such as, SignalR, Enterprise Library, SQL Server, and Transact SQL. Having prior experience with C# in Unity3D, it was exciting using the language for application development. I am now seeking a career in software development.
However, I have not always pursued this career. I was working as a heavy equipment operator in the National Guard and working in a local pizza restaurant after high school. After relocating I went to a trade school for Medical Assisting and received my certificate. It's hard to put into words, but the medical field never felt right for me. That's when I had the opportunity to re-evaluate my goals and passions. And thus, I started to pursue a career in the Tech Industry.
In 12 weeks I quickly learned not just new technologies, but a new field. I have created several projects during this time, as well as a final project culminating all i've learned, which is displayed on my GitHub and portfolio site. I bring with me my experiences from past jobs and an attitude striving to learn the next new thing.
I feel i would be a good fit for your company because of my experience with upgrading existing applications to Web Applications as well as my knowledge of SignalR. I used SignalR to create a real time match-making and chat service in a recent project. The project is open source and can be found on my Github. Additionally, I helped begin to upgrade an old Access application to a Web App. The code for that project is also on my Github.
