  1. Seeds of Earth Informational Pamphlet
  2.
  3. -WHO ARE WE-
  4.
  5. Seeds of Earth (herein referred to as SoE) is an independent corporation founded in 2011 by the person currently known as Jana Solae. The corporation has had various ups and downs over the years living in various areas of space including low sec and null sec and having been a major part and founding corporation of the alliance Nova Sol Federation of Worlds, now closed. After having had a long sabbatical starting in 2014, SoE became active once again in early 2016.
  6.
  7. -PRINCIPLES-
  8.
  9. We here in SoE strive to follow the below ideas:
  10.
  11. -Be Mature-
  12.
  13. Members should always have mature behavior. This means you should be respectful to both our friends and our enemies, if you have problems you should talk them out or bring them up with corp directors, and you should behave reasonably well on voice comms and in text chat. Do not rage or trash talk. If another member asks you to tone down your behavior, you should listen. If you have a problem with another member's behavior, you may bring it up with them privately or with a director. Do your best to avoid starting arguments regarding personal issues with another member in general chat, voice or text.
  14.
  15. Swearing and profanity is ok, we're not Puritans, but don't use it maliciously. Slurs, however, are not ok. The following are examples of things that are never acceptable or should be avoided in corporation chat channels:
  16.
  17. -Do not use "gay" and similar as synonyms for "uncool"
  18. -Do not use "jew" and similar as synonyms for "carebear" and/or greedy behavior
  19. -Avoid the use of "bitch" and similar
  20. -Do not use "rape" and related verbs/terms for any reason
  21. -Avoid discussions of drug use or sex
  22. -Do not use any other unlisted racist terms for any reason
  23.
  24. Regardless of your personal opinions on some of the above, be respectful of the wishes of the rest of the community.
  25.
  26. -Be Inclusive-
  27.
  28. Our corp community greatly values having an environment where people can feel welcome, included, and accepted. People from all races, gender identities, sexualities, beliefs and otherwise are welcome to participate and feel good about being a part of the community. Many members of the corporation, including the CEO, are members of the wider LGBTQ+ community so being inclusive and accepting of people of all types is of special importance to us. It is absolutely unacceptable to make any member of the corporation feel unwelcome or uncomfortable to be with us. Do not use racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic language at any point.
  29.
  30. -Be Self Reliant-
  31.
  32. A core tenet of SoE since the beginning is self reliance. SoE has always done its best to stand on our own. It's important that we are able to defend both ourselves and our assets. We avoid hiring mercenaries and make sure to have a strong combat base with which we fight and protect our interests. Members of SoE should be willing to work with each other to ensure we can take care of ourselves and each other. Individual members should also be able to reasonably take care of themselves when help isn't available. We try to help each other when we can but also try to be capable enough to stand independently. This idea of self reliance also extends beyond just combat. SoE has different divisions for combat, mining, industry, and support that work together to make the group as a whole as independently strong as possible.
  33.
  34. -EXPECTATIONS-
  35.
  36. In addition to adhering to the above principles, we expect members of SoE to also follow the below protocols:
  37.
  38. Members should try their best to integrate into the community and participate. Introduce yourself, make friends, chat, do group activities. Everyone needs to be on the corporation's Discord, which is used for general chat as well as fleet comms. Additionally, all members need to live relatively close to the rest of the corp in game.
  39.
  40. All members need to have a reasonable degree of activity. There are no specific minimum hours per week or anything like that but you should be interacting with the group, either in-game or on Discord, fairly often. We're pretty lenient about this but if you seem to have just disappeared for a while (a few weeks for example) don't be surprised if you get purged.
  41.
  42. If you wish to participate in a fleet which may involve PvP action, voice comms will be required. If you aren't the Fleet Commander it is ok to not speak however you should be able to listen and follow directions from the FC. Anyone who wishes to be an FC will have to use microphone and speak. Apologies to those who wish to FC but are uncomfortable with speaking but this requirement is necessary for the quick response times needed in PvP.
  43.
  44. Any time the corp is living in dangerous space, a standing fleet policy will go into effect. What this means is that all members will be required to join a fleet with the other members currently online. This standing fleet is so that members can come to each other's aid much more quickly and effectively in the event someone gets in trouble. The standing fleet is a separate, more general fleet than a specific operational fleet and will not necessarily have an FC or have the same requirements of voice comms.
