1. <sponge> Eldrek_: its less than the lg, exact values are in flux until its released
2. * RC13 has quit (Signed off)
3. <jlm> i'm a little worried about the rl,rg,lg dmg changes
4. <Vi> They're not definate.
5. <sponge> fentanyl: hmg is jack of all trades, master of none. rl/rg/lg are all better than the hmg at their strong points, but the hmg is better than those 3 guns at their weak points
6. <jlm> seems like splash may be a little overpowered now with rl but we'll see
7. * PerpetualWar is now known as PerpetualWa_off
8. <mitch`> hmg is cool
9. <mitch`> dont diss
10. <ε> jlm: isn't that balanced by how they would be unable to be used in combination in many gametypes?
11. <Eldrek_> hmg is quakelive battlerifle
12. <sponge> no, battlerifle was burst fire iirc, hmg is stream
13. <jlm> not sure what you mean ε
14. <sponge> continuous fire
15. <sponge> not stream, sorry a little unclear
16. <fentanyl> should make it a projectile weapon with faster bullets than plasma but with spray :> hitscan is boring
17. <Eldrek_> so like, rof is 75ms? 100ms like reg mg?
18. <sponge> higher damage, higher spread, higher fire rate than regular mg
19. <Vi> fent
20. <Vi> That is practcially napalm.
21. <jlm> i mean rl already does insane dmg with a single direct but now making splash the same means lg has no chance unless it is only every used in the perfect circumstance
22. <Eldrek_> lol its a gun for noobs, you think they can conprehend leading their shots fentanyl ?
23. <sponge> fentanyl: engine falls apart if you go faster projectiles than plasma due to networking
24. * bombel (webchat@86.160.120.117) has joined
25. <marcu5> sponge i meant to ask this.. exactly how much of a difference with the 50-100ms jump delay make? and why the change there?
26. <fentanyl> ah
27. <fentanyl> :(
28. <fentanyl> yeah that sounded alarming
29. <Eldrek_> marcu5, change is there to fix borked doublejumps now that people can hold jump
30. <fentanyl> crippled movement :P
31. <sponge> marcu5: basically it doesn't it just makes holding down jump feel a million times smoother
32. <marcu5> ahhh cool :)
33. * Kankipappa has quit (Ping timeout)
34. <ε> so what happens if I'm climbing up stairs to RA in dm6?
35. <sponge> and fwiw i still can't do b2r reliably even with the gauntlet and physics changes
36. <ε> (and hold down jump)
37. <sponge> but i can bareyl do it at all with current physics
38. <marcu5> hahah
39. <Eldrek_> that does not make me feel any better about you sponge
40. <marcu5> you need some race or defrag practice my friend.
41. <sponge> no, i'm crap at trickjumps
42. <fentanyl> haha
43. <sponge> i'm good at race but thats air control
44. <fentanyl> thats re-assuring
45. <fentanyl> :P
46. * bonestorm has quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
47. <marcu5> i played defrag in q3 for a while
48. * bombel has quit (Signed off)
49. <Anhjje_> marcu5 you played some CA 1v1 today?
50. <marcu5> i sucked at it pretty bad but still practiced quite a bit so i guess my movement is above avg.
51. <marcu5> nah
52. <sponge> defrag is the most borgot into it could ever imagine playing so i never got into it, and i *love* platformers
53. <sponge> *boring thing i never got into it
54. <sponge> stupid loading eating my kb input
55. <Eldrek_> sponge, new gaunt movespeed is 340, right?
56. <fentanyl> sigh
57. <marcu5> haha, funny cause we have some friends who prefer it over fragging
58. <jlm> what do you think of awesomium sponge?
59. <sponge> Eldrek_: its already changed
60. <Eldrek_> +-?
61. <jlm> was looking at it a while back for potential in a project
62. <marcu5> got at least a couple friends who quit fragging entirely to defrag and still play it
63. <sponge> jlm: it seems to work well enough although i wish i had compared it to coherent ui, especially since coherent supports webrtc, and just to satisfy a personal itch i've always wanted to prototype in-game video chat that looks like movies with mechs where people flash onto your screen
64. <marcu5> all about breaking world records by 1-2 frames
65. * pony (~IceChat77@pony.users.quakenet.org) has joined
66. <fentanyl> sounds boring to me, you should just hold space and win the game
67. <Anhjje_> sponge what about race?
68. <ε> fentanyl: you could just invert your space bind(hold to not jump)
69. <sponge> Anhjje_: what about race?
70. <Anhjje_> You said you find defrag boring and never really got into it
71. <Anhjje_> did race change anything for you in terms of entertainment?
72. <sponge> i like race because its about improving your time, not trying to finish the impossibly hard maps
73. <aNtii> Just won a duel vs cooller, avek and cypher
74. <fentanyl> thats all dependent on the map being played sponge
75. <aNtii> Was a bugged game
76. <Anhjje_> And for some reason I find race more.... fun?
77. <aNtii> So 3 vs 1
78. <fentanyl> loads of different defrag maps
79. <aNtii> Still managed to win
80. <aNtii> Soo
81. <aNtii> There goes..
82. <fentanyl> thousands
83. <marcu5> many df maps were also about improving time, but then maps got harder and harder
84. <marcu5> i did fast caps for a while
85. <sponge> idk every time i look at q3df.org server list all i see is the crazy hard maps
86. <ε> aNtii: can't wait to see the video
87. <marcu5> you'd probably like fastcaps sponge
88. <sponge> yea fast caps were a little more fun
89. <jlm> nice will check out coherent ui hadn't heard of it
90. <marcu5> some 3waves maps were crazy
91. <marcu5> like q3w4
92. <aNtii> 3w was awesome
93. * Stormaren has quit (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
94. <aNtii> Best mod ever
95. <marcu5> the MOD?
96. <aNtii> Jolt ctfs jolt div 1 2nd place winner talking here
97. <marcu5> was all about the maps
98. <marcu5> mod was kinda weird
99. <sponge> but like ql race being checkpoint based was both a design decision and sort of the only logical choic since we weren't going to ship yet another separate line of maps
100. <jlm> when i was looking at awesomium it seemed like it had some weird licensing for smaller indy projects
101. <sponge> i greatly enjoyed the rally/checkpoint based approach way more than fastcaps/the typical defrag map
