  1. Story of the Primordial Vampire.
  2.
  3. While the gods were battling the cosmic horrors from beyond, a certain mortal happened to take a glance at the events. He was one of the few lucky (or unlucky) to see the valiant desplay of power against the horific beast, as even a glace at it was enough to run people mad. But that mortal didn't lose his sanity for he lacked it from the start. He was a deranged killer on the run from the guards of a lord nearby for henious murders he commited. Even as he escaped hes, he killed numerous guards.
  4. As his tired body collapsed on the ground, he watched the grand spectacle in the sky but kept focusing on one god in particular. The God of Death, wilder of the Scythe of Eternal Darkness that in that moment dealt a powerfull blow to the mosnters mass. The most interesting thing for him was not the cut of the scythe itself, so perfectly made, but the aftermath, the instant devoidance of life from the wound, the essence sucked by the Scythe. For that power, to be able to drain the very life of a victim was his ultimate fantesy. Unknow to him the battle was going to affect him as much as it did the gods. As he watched the dance of cosmic horror coming to an end with the gods emerging victorious, the God of Death came down towards the planet to rest his form. There he noticed the human lying tired and on the verge of death. Although the god knew that his time was not up, a peculiar grin came to his face. He spoke to the mortal:
  5. -I see you there ridden by pain and tiredness. Although your time is not up i can offer you a quick end. After all the darkness is ever acceptant and ever protecting even to the most twisted of souls.
  6. The mortal remained shocked as a being of such greatness decided to talk to a mortal and one not dead at that.
  7. -You looked stunned.... but not afraid. I know your doing from the souls you keep sending to me. You are indeed a horrible one but i can not interfere as much as i would like to.
  8. -My.... my God... i offer you my servitute and anything you may want, I will do your every biding and i will sacrifice whoever and whatever to you just so i can obtain something as wonderfull as your life draining Scythe. Please accept m-...
  9. -Do you really think that i need a pathetic little rat as you to be a servent of death? You understand nothing of Life and its wonders and you only live for yourself! But... death would be to little of a punishment for you as the darkness is a loving embrace of safety. You dont deserve that. I curse you with Deathless rest. You may never walk into my realm no matter how much your body is broken and no matter how much you beg and kill in my name. You are a despicable human and i hope that whatever comes after this world ends will give you the punishment you deserve.
  10. But as he casted the curse something odd happened. The God of Death felt as the Scythe vibrated with alien powers. He realised that it was to early to manifest his power after such a prolonged combat with a beast that corrupts so deeply.
  11. It was too late though the curse was morphed and the murdere became a Souless One. A being that had its thirst for human lives morphed to devour anything. Hastely the god of death fled to his realm for fear that the twisted powers that the scythe reaped were going to do more harm than good.
  12. The murderer never felt that good in ages. As he consumed his own soul the extasy was intoxicating. But it was short lasted for his soul was not enough. His hunger was absolute. But he also knew that sacrifices were always plenty. In the hill top a powerfull man yelled at the now souless killer:
  13. -I THE NAME OF LORD BOL YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR MURDER OF 20 INNOCENT SOULS.
  14. -Hah, muttered the killer, that was no souls taken. I will show you what a real murder of a soul is!
  15. He lunged at the entire army moving with unparaleld strenght and speed and reaping life from every single one of the soldiers, leaving them a darkened body with nothing left in it. As they fell one by one only the captain remained to fight the abomination
  16. -You? What kind of monster are you?
  17. -One that hungers for souls! And with one swift movement he grabbed his face and sucked him dry.
  18. His rampages were never ending attacking village after village of the lords domain until there was nothing but the castle itself left. As he marched towards the citadel the lord called desperetly for help to all the gods that could stop the impending demise. One answered indeed, but bit to quickly to his call.
  19. -I will help you with the creater. I will ennect a barrier over your kingdom so that the beast may never harm anyone.
  20. And so he did but unknow to all the god was still under the influence of the energy of the horror from beyond. In an attempt to stop his first creation from destroying the entire world he decided (in a dash of insanity and fear) to scrifice the castle so that the beast could be contained until another solution could be devised. And so the barrier was rissen and the lord retreated back to his keep happy. But the bliss was short lasted for one of his servents came screaming and shivering, telling the lord that the souless one entered the barrier without even flynching and that he was attacking everything that looked alive. The lord cursed the God of Death for his lie and mustered every single one of his guard in a last attepmt to save his citizens. As long as the fight lasted the murderer was victorious and unscaved. But as he tryed to leave the now deserted castle he was surprised when an invisible wall barred his exit. He was now traped inside the castle he just massacred.
  21. Centuries passed and the castle started crumbling under the passing of time. The place was know only in legends as the home of a soulsucking being, though most people treated as just a fable. Most but not all. A few of the survivors of the long destroyed kingdom carried the story in their families and many of thier sons and daughters vowed to end the beasts life. A miriad of succesors died in the accursed place(from brave warriors to inteligent mages to even a few druid of the land that came from the bloodline of the fallen ones) some failing horribly, while others managing to hurt the killer temporarly. None could triumph over the beast. But one day a young lady had an encounter with fate itsself that would lead to the downfall of both men and monsters.
  22. She was a beautifull girl of age no older than 14 with long black hair white, skin and eyes of a peculiar collor of blue almost silvery in appearence. Though she was delicate she was also firm and didnt fear to work with her father at the local graveyard, where he was the undertaker. At a young age she was aquaitened with death, as she saw bodies in many shapes and size from battered to almost alive. She was not fearfull of death and was always happy when one would be lowered into the cold dark ground, as she believed that the darkness was not frightening, but protecting and that death is the best certanty of life. She to was of the Bol blood line but her father never wanted to awknoledge that as he knew the story and was afraid to let her daughter go try destiny with the impossible task. She however hated the story as she couldn't concieve a being such henious to not allow a person the rest that death offered.
  23. She was also interested in the games of boys with swords and shields. From time to time she would innocently asked them to duel her with their small wooden swords. Most of the boys laughed at her at first thinking that she had no way to win at such a game. But she was not an easy target. She was natarualy tallented in the art of combat and even though she had no training, she would always defeat the others without even trying. One day she was chalenged by a big broad sholdered child the largest in her village. She has beat him before. He was only strong and laked any skill and dexterity in using a sword. Knowing that the boy was not going to be a hard fight she set a challenge for her self. She would only use the broken wooden swords that she found on the ground. Regardless she beat him easily. This attracted the sights of a passer by. He was a legendary traveling swordsman that never loved his fame and always stay hidden when he travvled. He was intrigued almost to the point of shock to see such tallent in a child so young. so he decided to ask her:
  24. -Little girl, who tought you to fight like that? You know it is not fair to pick on people with no training in the art of sword combat, you know?
  25. -I.... , said the girl looking half scared, I wasn't taughted by anyone.
  26. -Lying is not something a good swordsman does.
  27. -But i am not lying sir. My father is an undertaker and my mother a seamstress. I have never even seen a real sword.
  28. This intrigued the swordsman even more.
  29. -Hmmm, say would you like to learn to use a real sword? You are awfully tallented and it would be a shame to let it waste. I can teach you thing or two about the sword.
  30. The girl was confused but happy. She was eager to learn to use a real sword not. But just as she was about to take his offer the old gravedigger showed up to bring her daughter back for dinner.
  31. - You!!! What are you doing here? I told you i am not interested, yelled the clearly concerned father at the hooded figure.
  32. -Long time no see Thomhar. What brings you to this village?
  33. -What brings me here? I live here! I settled here after father left..., he lowered his voice, left for that acursed place. I don't care to hear about your stories Valnhir. You know i abbandoned that life long ago.
  34. -I sadly i do. We were really good you know? Although my name is still widly spread among others i still hear the story of the two brothers that took down the menacing beasts from the beyond. We really did a number back there.
  35. -What beasts? asked the girl with big curious eyes.
  36. -Oh the great beasts M Ztha and Vrs'chesh 4 legged creatures that hunted in the dark and had magical powers never s-
  37. -Dont ever talk about that to my duaghter Valnhir. She doesnt need to know!
  38. -Ah now it makes sense. This girl is your daughter. Fine child you have grown Thomhar. I was wondering where did she inherited her sword skill.
  39. -She has no tallent for that. Dont bother with her. The boys here have no idea what they are doing they are dumb as bricks. She can't learn anything with the sword.
  40. Thomhar pulled closer to his brother:
  41. -Don't drag her in the familly buisness. I am tired to see many of us die for a stupid ancestry. Leave her alone brother.
  42. But it was too late. The spirit of the bloodline awoke in the girls heart. Almost bitter the girl asked her father:
  43. -So it is true than? A being so foul and so evil exists in this world. A being that takes the peace of rest from others to satisfy its unnending hunger? I can not allow that to happen. I want to become strong and to slay that beast once and for all. I can do it. I will do it!
  44. - No my child! you wont do that. None of us could and niether will you. It is a fools quest made up by idiots who have nothing better than to cling to an "past" that is never coming back. I wont allow you!
  45. - Then i will run away. I will train with Valnhir and i will be better than him! And i will kill the monster and-
  46. - NO! Go back to your room! And never speak to this man again!
  47. Hastly the father took the daughters hand and took her home. He locked the doors and made sure no one could come in.
  48. The mother quitly took notice of her mans anger and panic and didnt dare to intervene knowing exactly why he was acting like that. They sat at the table and ate their lunch. After the first course the daughter asked her father:
  49. -Why didnt you invite that man to eat with us? He seemed to be a friend and i liked him.
  50. Thomhar looked at her daughter with sad eyes:
  51. -He was dangerous for your my child.
  52. -why? He didnt seem like a bad man.
  53. -A bad man? hah. If the gods were ever to judge me against him they would hang me 3 times. He was... is one of the greatest man i have ever known. If it wasnt for our past i would have not even the slightest fear to let you talk to him. But i can't do it like this.
  54. Silence for a bit.
  55. -So is he right? You were more than just a gravedigger?
  56. -...... aye. I can t really hite it from you now can i? Even if i would lie you would still know. I was something else before. We were.
  57. - So is it true that you are as skilled as Valhnir?
  58. -Ha. As skilled? I think both of us knew who was better. But i lacked something he didnt. I lacked conviction and determination. I doubted my self so many times but that many times he lifted my spirits and convinced me. If it wasnt for him I would have died a long time ago .
  59. Silance came again.
  60. -So? will you let me train with-
  61. -NO! That is my final answer. The world is to dangerous to be prancing around with a sword all day. I am not willing to lose my only child to a stupid legacy. Listen to what your father says, Dialara for i have seen things no man should ever see.
  62. But Valhnir was not the only one to have such a strong sense of conviction. Dialara was set to her path and nothing not even her father could stop her. At night after her family went to sleep she swiftly wrote a letter of goodbyes and run into the world.
  63. She went to the local tavern where Valhnir was likely to be in order to make him train her.
  64.
  65. (there is a gap here in the story cause i was dragging to long in the thread i will post the tl dr variant
  66. Insert scene about valnhir trying to be good to his bro and not take the girl into training. Insert uber determined girl rant that she wont stop even if valnhir doesnt take her.
  67. She trains her.
  68. Basicly she learned fast to fight with the sword although she didnt like using a shield as she enjoyed mobility.
  69. She used a straight sword most of her training.
  70. valhnir himself was a preaty agile warrior and had a lot of trick up his sleeve.
  71. She quickly became capable of beating him in practice duels where valnhir didnt give 100%.
  72. they journeyd through the lands and beat the shit out of bandits, raiders even small beasts. She was really strong and skilled.
  73. Insert old Thomhar in armor and looking for his daughter cuase he loves her too much.
  74. Insert useless sacrifice of Thomhar to fight the souless wraith in an attempt to spare the daughter of the daunting quest. Insert valnhir crying like a bitch when the Thomhar dies. Insert dubious run away so that the daughter is spared from the horrible sight (she doesnt buy it though)
  75. Insert a bit more questing, a drunk night of valnhir who was depressed that his bro is dead and rant about that to Dialara.
  76. Insert her running away (again) to take revenge.
  77. )
  78.
  79. As she approched the castle of the old lord Bol she felt a shiver down her spine. Was it fear? She couldn't tell but the lack of life expresed by the castle and the surounding area was not helping. She stood for a second or too in front of the barrier and after a quick breath of air and brave thought she went in.
  80. The land was gray and lacked any sign that life exists in it. The trees were hollow and there was not a single sound except for an eery wind. She marched cautiosly watching every dead leaf every window and every door. She felt that she was watched but didnt know from where. Suddenly a shadow flew towards her. With a quick step and swift move of her sword she hit the assailant. It screeched of pain but landed a few feet from her.
  81. -Strange not many manage to dodge me when i come from that angle. I will have a lot of fun with you.
  82. The figured turned and under the gastly robes was a face almost human but devoid of light and soul with dried skin and bone face complexion. It stared at Dialara for a second than charged at her with incredible speed. Dialara was prepaired though she gracefully dodged again and stroke the back of the beast. This time it didnt shriek it didnt even seem hurt. It quickly did 180 and jumped at the sword mistress but was met only by the sharp end of the sword.
  83. -You may be fast but you lack any finess and your attacks are so previsible. How did you manage to bring down so many skilled heroes?
  84. -You have no idea what you are facing.
  85. All of the sudden the beast emmanated dark energy from itself and bolts of soul missles flew towrds the women. Dialara was not surprised as she has fought mages before and won. She dodged the missles and raised her sword to strike at the monster but.... the monster dissapeared instantly. Just as she regained her guard the killer knocked her down with a blow from her own shadow. She tryed to defend herself but the wraith used its powers to trap the warrior's hands.
  86. -I told you. I was just toying with you. You are skilled indeed but no amount of skill can stop me! You are nothing comapred to others that truly managed to hurt me. Now to feast on your soul.
  87. The wraith laid its face close to her but just as it started to take the soul. A mighty blow struck the head of the wraith. It was Valnhir who came in to aid Dialara.
  88. -Oh, remakred the monster, if it isnt the great swordsman Valnhir. I saw you once glancing at my doamain. To afraid to dare chalenge me? Well there is no going back now is it?
  89. That were the last words that Dialana remembered before passing out from the shock of the soul sucking procces. Although she was out cold, she was not gone. Her mind tryed to dream but nothing remained but a dark void. Thinking that it was the darkness of death coming to take her she calmed her self down and whispered an ancient praier that not even she knew where it came from.
  90. But the praire was not left on deaf ears. Zel'noctur the God of Death appeared before her.
  91. -So this is the work of destiny. It sent me one of my latent follower to resolve this. Fear not my child for i have come to help you. This souless creature has overstayed its due and its time for the things that are mine to return to me. I offer you a sword that will truly slay that which has no soul bound to this world by magic beyond. But be weary for the energies that spawned this beast still reside in it. Guard your mind your body and your soul or else the same fate will fall upon you as it fell on that thing. Here take Death's Touch, Sword of the Soul. Use it to strike down the monster and bring glory to my domain.
  92. She didnt even have time to ask a question when a iritating light woke her up. She was awake again. Was it just a dream? she asked her self but upon inspecting her belt she noticed something. She noticed another seath. And in it a sword that clinged towards her. It was Death's Touch. Quickly she scrambled her self remembering that Valnhir was still fighting the monster. She runned through the village searching for any sign of battle. But she was too late. At the end of the road layed the mumified corpse of Valnhir, sword broken shield shatered and without sign that life even existed in him. She tryed to cry but the wraith didn't allow her:
  93. -He was a fool. But a valiant fool. I think i will have some fun with you though. Find me in my castle if you dare and we shall end this.
  94. She had no words only anger, revenge and a wierd feeling of wrong. She never felt that when she was helping her father at the graves. But now seeing the souless body of the warrior made her sick. Nontheless she ignored that feeling and run off to catch the killer at his castle. As she arrived at the castle she noticed that the entrance was opened and that there were no corpses. Wierd for a castle that was taken out so quickly. She would soon find out why.
  95. -Ah you came. Good i was afraid you would try to run away. Well so few have ever came this far, so i will let you play with something (or should i say things). Minions raise and entertain your master.
  96. Suddenly it was clear why there was nothing at the gate the wraith reanimated the corpses using slivers of the fallen souls to be his personal army.
  97. -At first i devoured souls fully you know? That brought so much pleasure to me but I noticed something when one of the mages here with a stragely powerfull essence refused to be eaten in one go i thought, what would happen if i let a bit in it? And guess what? he turned into a puppet. A puppet i can use! So i started leaving bits and pieces of souls into all of my victims. And now i have this. An undead army!
  98. -Throw at me as many of your puppets as you want monster. I will stomp them all.
  99. And stomp them she did. Using the sacred sword she hacked left and right at the servants of the wraith. And unknowed to her the sword rewarded her with the slivers of power take from the husks killed. Finaly she reached the wraith and yelled:
  100. -Your time is up demon! I am ending you and releasing those poor innocents from their bonds. The souls must be returned to the darkness for them to know peace.
  101. -You fell for the sweet words of that fool of a god didnt you? I would say the same, but i am quite happy with the results. Immortal souls sucking panthon with incredible power. Yes i am quite happy. But i could use your body in my army. So lets being!
  102. The wraith instantly dashed at the warrior but not as recklesly, as it knew that the sword was something not to be trifled with. They fought fiercly on top of the keep Dialara defending herself from the fury of the wraiths assalt. She bided her time and with 1 swift blow the wraith was left hurting. The wound was different with a bluish tint that seemed to be draining power. The wraiths face was equally as disturbed as it for once felt true pain. Changing its tactics the wraith launched an furious assalt of souls missles. At first dialara tryed to dodge them but the count was to high to make it physicly possible. Thinking that parying would at least lower the power of the missle before it hit her she raised her sword to block. Incredibly the sword not only blocked the missle compelatly but it also absorbd it. With this thing in mind Dialara changed her tactic from a defensive position to an offensive charge blocking and dodgin what ever was thrown at her. And as the wraith tryed to dodge the inevitable swing at the end, it barly managed to avoid being cut in half. The second wound was deeper and more painfull than the first. It shrieked:
  103. -What manner of weapon is that?
  104. -A weapon to free every single one of the souls you devouered.
  105. But before she could attack again the wraith dissapeared. With a smug smile Dialara said:
  106. -You know the same trick doesnt work twice in a row. And as she said that she immediatly stabed her own shadow throwing the wraith out. But the wraith wasnt mad instead it flashed a smile and said.
  107. -The same trick always works twice in a row.
  108. Out of nowhere a flurry of dark spikes erupted from the shadow and pierced the comabtant. She attempted to dodge but she got impaled in one of her arms her right lung and her left leg pleeding profously from all 3 wounds.
  109. -I must admit you are the first that didnt get killed by my soul drain. And you are the first to leave wounds so deep on me. But now its game over and its time i get my self a new servent.
  110. Dialara was dizzy from all the blood loss, but she knew that passing out was worse than any pain suffered. She mustered all her strenght for one final blow. She waited the wraith to get close to her so he can start draining her. And this is escatly what the wraith did. It approched the dying warrior smugly but visibly shaken from the 3 blows into its souless form. As it grasped at her to fish out the soul a sharp pain came by in the left part of its chest. The sword pierced its dead heart.
  111. -I... t-told you.... you .. are... weak! N-now.... NOW DIE!
  112. She twisted the sword into its heart and watched as his body under the rags started to illuminate. A stream of white sprites exited the wraith's body no doublty souls of every single denizen that fell victim to the soulless one. And after that something started dripping from the wound. Blood. Black chunky blood but blood nontheless. Apparently the wraith lost all its souls its body returned to normal. It was now dying.
  113. -Gha... So this... is what dying feels like. Heh ... glorious .... indeaaa.....!
  114. As the corpse came of the murderer came down something else exited it. A dark energy that was neither human nor godly. The energy started to head towords Dialara. It touched her but... before all of it could get in. A dark figgure carrying a scythe quickly cut the strand. It was the God of Death himself.
  115. -To late i always come to late. I shouldn t have let this happen. I was fast to act and let the beast from beyond influence me. It wasnt strong enough to do much harm but i still did this wrongfully. Now you are tainted by it luckly not even close to what he was but still enough to warp my magic. I can not take you with me in the realm of death for now. But i can help you. The energy appears to have bounded firstly with the blood from your wounds. Soon it will bind to your very soul and attempt to truly consume it. But i can do something to stop that i can allow you to tap into the life essences of others. I know you are a follower of mine even if you never knew about me or my powers so i know you wont use it recklesly and without control. I know you have a good soul and it would be a shame to let it waste. So i will let you take the energy of mortals. You only need a bit to sustain you every day and most wont even feel the difference for long. But by feeding that little slither of darkness with the others you too shall live. Beware though the more you do not tend to this the weaker is your grip on this world and the more likely you are to become like him a soulless ever hungry wraith that drains the energy of others. This is my gift to you. Imortality and lifetap through the blood of other mortals. You are now a Vampire.
  116. And so the god of death bestowed power on her. Instantly her wounds closed and she started to regain her sense again. She was forever changed though. Her beautifull blue eyes changed to a nuance of darkened purple mark of the power of blood and the corruption unspeacable her skin became pale as the poweres of the Death god made her more akin to the dark and he heart though still beating stoped emiting a pulse.
