  1. [/r/Askreddit](/r/Askreddit) is aware of a complaint about the inappropriate removal of a user's comments.
  2.
  3. [The complaint in question](http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/oz60p/cd_projekt_red_announces_the_witcher_3/c3l9c2i)

  5. After reviewing the moderation log ([sorted here](http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/about/log/?mod=SolInvictus)) it is apparent that SolInvictus has removed comments that weren't violating the rules of /r/AskReddit. He then approved them after TrollingThunder publicized the issue.
  6.
  7. I approved a couple items he removed and hadn't fixed, but here are screenshots to document the removals: [1](http://i.imgur.com/afo1a.png) - [2](http://i.imgur.com/3inNW.png).

  9. We need to remember what our responsibilities are as moderators. We are not to use our position to censor users simply because we disagree with them or want to withhold things. We are here to monitor and correct abuse, spam, disclosure of personal information, and to ensure the smooth operation of the community for the benefit of our readers. Personal wishes and interpersonal issues have no place here.
  10.
  11. It has been noted elsewhere that SolInvictus is a writer and paid content creator. He has been removed from moderation in [/r/gamernews](/r/gamernews) in relation to this. His occupation does not automatically preclude him from moderating, but is apparently linked to his recent actions.
  12.
  13. I think it's important for SolInvictus to comment here, and I'd like the input of everyone on what's to be done in this and similar situations.
