  1. +Sub-sector Alt Wald, Ultima Segmentum+
  2. +Feudal world Talabecia, Imperious System+
  3. ++5 years before the 12th Black Crusade++
  4.
  5. It was a dark and stormy night when the castle was surrounded by Battle Sisters to kill any that may try to escape or enter. “Such fanatics should be detested by the likes of me, ” thought Inquisitor Genevieve when walking up the path to the entrance. Inquisitorial Stormtroopers flanked the inquisitor’s sides while a Tech-Priest and a ganger followed from behind. The dark hallways were filled with spider webs or an air of malice in it.
  6.
  7. The Feudal world of Talabecland faced a Lahmian vampire who was influencing the world for his own unknown goals. One single Arbitrator stumbled onto this problem while he was inspecting all the worlds of this sub-sector for corrupt officials. The case was handed off to Ordo Xenos once the Arbitrator learned that a ruling Grand Count in Talabecland was, in fact, a vampire. Ordo Securitas learned of the case and requested the Interna Sororitias to be deployed to hunt down the vampire before Ordo Xenos could do anything about it. The Battle Sisters happily cooperated with hast before any orders from Ordo Xenos could be made to halt them. Once on the plane, they investigated to hunt the vampire down to a castle near the city of Nordheim.
  8.
  9. Genevieve Germaine proved herself to becoming an inquisitor after acting as an officer leading suicidal Eldar infiltration missions in an attempt to stall a Hive fleet vanguard. Not only were the missions successful but it allowed the Imperial Army to mobilize to delay and eventually stop Hive Fleet Moloch. “Hold up GeGe,” said the ganger trailing the inquisitor. The name “GeGe” was not fondly said behind her back by locals while she was on the Imperial world of Nippon, it was a pun on her name as it sounded like the local Low Gothic for “old man” or “grandfather.” Not taking it as the joke that it was, she always tried to appear to be the nickname that all her companions call her while still being slightly annoyed. “What do you want now, Hatter?” asking the beefy man that ran up to her wearing a bowler hat.
  10.
  11. “Can’t we just use explosives to level this place to rubble instead of you know, walking into a trap”
  12.
  13. “What is the first thing you do when you don’t know what to do with a trap?”
  14.
  15. “I don’t know”
  16.
  17. The Krieger Tech-Priest walked in to answer the question. “We spring the trap”
  18.
  19. “Exactly!”
  20.
  21. “What!? That makes no sense, Adalheid! Just stick to fixing machines instead of making tactical advice”
  22.
  23. “There is also the fear of the vampire escaping in the destruction of the building, as we should all know explosives aren’t enough to kill a vampire,” said Ge Ge.
  24.
  25. Approaching the doors to the dining hall of the castle, they had searched the rest of the ground floor of the place to only find it empty. The inquisitor kicked the doors open with a thunderous noise to alert the vampire dwelling inside. “Who enters my domain?” asked the vampire. “Inquisitor Genevieve with her retinue to hunt down a vile monster, Grand Count Holstein of Jutland!” replied GeGe.
  26. “Look! Who is that standing next to him?” asked Hatter.
  27.
  28. In the shadows, there was a maid who stood silently like a statue just to the right of Holstein. “Why she is just my newest child of Mephet'ran who recently converted after she helped me enter this place,” said the Grand Count. The maid could be seen with the evil green glow from her eyes that marked any vampire who stood in total darkness.
  29.
  30. “Quick to gift her immortality I see,” told GeGe.
  31.
  32. “What can I say, I’m a generous man. Don’t let appearances fool you, she and I are much more powerful than the likes of you mortals!”
  33.
  34. “How many people did you killed to allow her to convert?” interrupted Hatter.
  35.
  36. “How many cups of recaf did you drink in your life?” answered Holstein to shock everybody into silence.
  37.
  38. Just as he finished the sentence both Holstein and the maid leaped to devour the mortals. GeGe and Hatter rolled out of the way when Holstein tried to attack them first. Adalheid and the Stormtroopers jumped back from where the maid was to land. One unlucky Stormtrooper was caught by the maid, however. His carapace armor was ripped apart like paper by the claws of the maid who then sank her fangs into the neck of her prey. Another Stormtrooper nearby shot his Hellgun to only leave a scorch mark on the back of the maid, who then turned around to shoot a green beam of pure life essence out of her eyes like a rail spike. The essence beam sliced right through the Flak fabric to pierce the Stormtrooper’s neck and turn him into a fountain of blood.
  39.
  40. Meanwhile, the Stormtrooper was rolling around on the floor drowning in his own blood, Holstein and GeGe were at a standoff. The vampire was covered in armor from his toes up to his neck. “Too afraid to act, I made my first move knife ears” taunting GeGe to impulsive action. “Maybe,” said GeGe before throwing two Krak Grenades at Holstein. The first grenade was deflected with a backhand by Holstein to only miss then detonate from hitting the wall behind him. The explosion made plenty of smoke and the shockwave pushed Holstein forward to blur his vision and prevent him from deflecting the other grenade, which was headed right to his breastplate. The second grenade exploded to totally destroy Holstein's armor and leave a gaping wound in the middle of his torso. “Almost got my heart there, now that was close. I heard that you were a skilled martial artist inquisitor. But do you call throwing grenades around a martial art?” asked Holstein to GeGe.
  41.
  42. GeGe shouted back, “Hey, as long as it works” than jumping to kick Holstein in the face with her heel. Her foot was caught in midair before the strike could connect with the count’s face. What was most odd was that GeGe’s foot was glowing yellow with electrical sparks flying off of it. The vampire immediately drew back his hands after throwing GeGe away from him. “M-my hands are melting!? This should be physically impossible; I’m immune to electrical shocks” Holstein was thinking to himself. “Next thing you’re going to say is ‘How is this possible you worm?’” said GeGe while pointing a finger at Holstein. Just by reading the body language and some psychic predictions, GeGe was about read his mind. “How is this possible you worm!?” yelled the angry vampire. “You really are overconfident” fired back GeGe. “Nice thinking there GeGe” complimented Hatter as he took his bowler hat off.
  43.
  44. When the fight started between Holstein and GeGe, the maid finished draining the life of her pray. Thinking the Tech-Priest was the weakest link in the group of Stormtroopers, the maid charged to attack Adalheid. Unknown to the vampire when she dug her claws into the stomach of Adalheid, the Tech-Priest was stronger than any of the Stormtroopers or Battle Sisters present. While ripping out the machinery in the torso, the vampire was unexpectedly lifted off the floor by a hand of Adalheid around the maid’s neck. The hand would detach from Adelheid’s arm with a rocket propelling it to the wall to the other side of the room. The maid was now pinned to the wall as she struggled to break free from the hand while under fire from three Stormtroopers. “Krieger weaponry is the best in the galaxy!” proclaimed the Tech-Priest as she attached a Lascannon to her stomach that a Stormtrooper handed her. Bring both her arms to arch above her head and tendrils to steady the weapon as her legs slightly bend down. Adalheid was prepared to fire in this pose then shot rapidly right in the torso of the maid to burn away the cloth and skin in the stomach.
  45.
  46. The maid desperately chewed through the hand that pinned her as her body was being burned to bits by constant Lasbolts. As soon as she could move the maid climbed up the wall away from the shots using her overgrown claws. Both the Stormtroopers and Adalheid couldn’t track their shots as the maid moved too fast for them. In the confusion, the maid leaped from the ceiling to attack Adalheid again with fury. While the maid was in midair, Adalheid ejected the Lascannon from her torso then reached out her right hand towards the vampire. The fangs were targeting the skull of the Tech-Priest were shifted just a bit to the left to avoid being grabbed by another rocket hand.
  47.
  48. As the maid first attacked Adalheid’s stomach, GeGe would explain why Holstein's hands were melting.
  49. “You see, I know that exposure to solar radiations is the main weakness to any vampire, whether it be Strigoi, Nosferatu, or Lahmian. Knowing this, I learned to use an ancient technique from the Death world of Taklamak, where the human tribe of Uyghurs could heal using psykers that could turn their own bodies into solar conduits.”
  50.
  51. “That should be impossible to turn one’s body to conduct solar energy!”
  52.
  53. “Not if you’re a psyker, my friend. That’s why I was able to use a special breathing skill, called ‘Heliomancy’ that I learned from them, to concentrate my Warp energy to manifest itself as solar energy anywhere in my body!”
  54.
  55. “Such insanity, none of this should be possible!”
  56.
  57. “If it’s stupid but works then it’s not stupid,” said GeGe while she came in for an Helio palm strike right at the heart of Holstein. “Useless, useless” proclaimed the count then shot essence beams from his eyes right at GeGe’s right arm that was coming in to attack. The beams easily dug through the wraithbone armor on GeGe leading to her collapsing to the floor with a disabled right arm. Holstein slowly walked over menacingly to deliver a fatal blow. Just when he raised his left arm to decapitate GeGe, a bowler hat was thrown with such force that the razors woven inside it got stuck on Holstein's arm. “You brat!” shouting as he turns to his right then shot out essence beams right into the neck of Hatter. When Hatter was dying from the beams he threw his last pair of acid grenades right at the count’s eyes. “Ah, Warp-shit my eyes, I can’t see!” bringing his hands up to cover his eyes.
  58.
  59. Whereas Holstein's eyes were burning from acid, the maid was in midair ready to destroy the skull of Adalheid. By shifting to the left, the maid was in the perfect position to be caught by the tendrils that were moved to the left by Adalheid. Right before the maid could land on top of Adalheid, she was held up in the air by the Tech-Priest’s tendrils which pierced into the vampire’s body.
  60.
  61. “When did you move those tendrils? You witch!” asked the maid as she struggled to escape.
  62.
  63. “Why, I just moved them under my hood while you were crawling around on the ceiling. I knew I didn’t need them to steady the Lascannon so I retracted them while tracking your movements. There was an 87.49% chance that if I made the same movements with my hand to pin you with my rocket arm than you would react by dodging to the left, thus I slowly moved all my tendrils to the left under the darkness of my hood as I ejected my Lascannon to catch you!”
  64.
  65. “The natural order of the universe deemed that apex predators like me must devour pray like you!”
  66.
  67. “No, the natural action of the body is to expunge parasites like you from further harming the body… and we are immune system!” said Adalheid as she brought her left arm to reach over her shoulder to behind her back, the right arm extends forward with an open palm facing up.
  68.
  69. Adalheid’s stance brought awe to the maid as she realized she had completely underestimated the Tech-Priest. The left arm was now attached to a metal stake that Adalheid brought out from her back. The right hand now grabs the maid by her neck and the fingers dug into the flesh of the vampire and could even squeeze arteries. With abnormal strength, Adalheid slammed the maid’s head into the floor while aiming the stake for the final blow. Now the maid shot out her essence beams for a kill in her final death throes as Adalheid held her head in place. The stake was activated with UV lasbolts shooting out the tip. The lasbolts burned away the flesh protecting the heart of the vampire. To end the fight, Adalheid with all her force brought the stake down to cut through the heart then detach the steak from her left arm stub to leave it burning away the body.
  70.
  71. The maid had stopped moving and grew weak yet was still hanging on to life. Adalheid brought out the vampire’s head from the floor to check if she was dead. The maid was smiling with her eyes closed.
  72.
  73. “So you are still alive?” asked Adalheid.
  74.
  75. “Yes,” said the maid with a slow nod.
  76.
  77. “Why are you smiling?”
  78.
  79. “For I know not the curse of immortality”
  80.
  81. “What do you mean by that?”
  82.
  83. “With time my bloodlust, greed, and insanity would twist everything I do so much that it becomes self-destructive”
  84.
  85. “So you understand how much more of a monster you would become”
  86.
  87. “Defeat humbles a creature, even for an apex predator like me”
  88.
  89. “You were an unexpectedly worthy foe. Please tell me your name so I may log you into my records”
  90.
  91. “My name before my conversation, I don’t remember. Wait no, it was Lisbet!”
  92.
  93. “Well your name and description have been logged into my memory banks, Lisbet”
  94.
  95. “Thank you” was the last words from Lisbet before she fired an essence beam right at the neck of Adalheid. The Tech-Priest dodged it by moving in closer to the head then using her right arm to crush the neck of Lisbet to decapitate her. When Lisbet’s head was sent flying away from her torso she saw that her heart was destroyed beyond recognition and that she was now truly dead.
  96.
  97. When Holstein was healing his eyes, GeGe got up from the floor to run over to the dying Hatter. GeGe told Hatter “Come on now stay with me you ganger scum.”
  98.
  99. “Sorry boss” Hatter was coughing blood and somehow staying alive, “Tough bugger” was the last words from Hatter before life left his body.
  100.
  101. Coming from a Death world, Hatter knew not to care too much about dying. To him death waits for all thing, the only thing that mattered is how one dies. “I’ll bury you back on your home world of Birmingham,” said GeGe as she laid down the body gently onto the floor. “Go on and weep about your gutter trash whilst I prepare to kill you!” yelled Holstein while covering his eyes with his left hand. The count attacked with just his right hand looking to slice GeGe to ribbons as he protected his eyes. Blow for blow GeGe’s left hand blocked every attack from Holstein.
  102.
  103. The vampire turned away from GeGe to looking as if about to run. Using the small chance of seeing his back exposed, GeGe used Heliomancy to enchant her left hook aiming at his spine. The attack was halted by Holstein bring his right arm under his left armpit then extending his claws to hit GeGe right in the stomach. The claws sent GeGe flying back meters to hit the wall behind her. Holstein had fully healed his eyes by now when he lifted his hand away from his face. The count brought both his arms to make an X on his chest while his hands had open palms facing away from his head just to his left and right. Bringing his left foot to the front, the count stood to show his superiority over GeGe.
  104.
  105. “What?! Your eyes shouldn’t have healed that fast!” shouted GeGe in surprise.
  106.
  107. “That pathetic acid bomb trick would have worked on a weaker vampire but my reflexes are too fast for that. Seeing that contents of the bombs were some sort of liquid when I was killing your friend, I calculated that my best chance to fool you into a false sense of security was to catch the liquid before it hits my eyes. That’s exactly what I did, right before the acid touched my face my left hand caught then blocked the acid. It sure stings but nothing my hand couldn’t have handled, get it, handled” Holstein laughed at his own joke. “The acid surely would have burned my eyes pretty badly for a long time considering.”
  108.
  109. “Aren’t you full of surprises?”
  110.
  111. “Never reveal all your cards at once my friend” saying as he charged GeGe.
  112.
  113. “Helio Kick!” said GeGe then swinging her leg to sweep Holstein's legs off of the floor. Yet the vampire jumped over the kick and was still headed right at GeGe. At that moment GeGe’s other leg pushed her off of the floor to allow her to be sent flying right towards Holstein's head. Right before GeGe’s forehead smashed Holstein's nose, he realized that by jumping at her at the leg sweep, he had no way of slowing down when the inquisitor jumped right back at him.
  114.
  115. Holstein’s nose fell off of his face when GeGe’s forehead rammed right into it with Heliomancy energy. “Have you tried cosmetics?” asked the Eldar as she stood pointing at the nose on the floor with the smug look of satisfaction. It lured the count to try to stab GeGe in the face with his claws. That arm was ripped in half when the inquisitor backhand the count’s right arm with Heliomancy energy. Holstein was just lashing out as he brought his left arm rip out an organ from GeGe’s stomach. One Helio kick sent that arm flying away from Holstein's torso. Finally, the count leaped with fangs shining to rip open the inquisitor’s neck. GeGe twirled to the left to just miss the fangs and brought her elbow to the back of the count’s head when he overshot his target. The Heliomancy energy was glowing yellow with sparks jumping everywhere on GeGe’s elbow when the blow connected with the head. The flesh seems to melt like lava while the skull cracked.
  116.
  117. “What?!” said the vampire as the blinding light was coming out of his head and his skin peeled off. The skull became so brittle that even air destroyed it. Cracks were forming on his head as more of his flesh melted off. Soon the Heliomancy energy was so overwhelming that his head exploded then the rest of his body melted from the solar radiation spread from the head.
  118.
  119. “Is he dead?” asked Adalheid as she helped the inquisitor to her feet.
  120.
  121. “Hopefully, but just to make sure” GeGe ordered her Stormtroopers to “Burn the bodies while leaving them out to be baked under UV lights.” Turning to face Adalheid, “How did you kill the maid?”
  122.
  123. “UV lasbolt steak to the heart”
  124.
  125. “Ah, a classic”
