The Games I run & The future - April 2014

OK, so as you probably know, in the last couple of months I've been splitting my time pretty evenly between 4 games. These were: Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The reason I was playing all of these games pretty equally was because I had submitted them all to ESA2014, which in case you don't know is a marathon, similar to the GDQ's, but in Europe.

A couple of days ago the final cuts for ESA were posted, and this is what happened:
Super Mario Galaxy 1/2: Both got cut
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger: Still in, maybe a race.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: Still in.

Due to this, I'm going to be putting much more time into MP3 and Ty, since I want to get those down to a better level by the time ESA comes around. This doesn't mean that I'm done with galaxy/2, but the games I run will be changing quite a bit in the coming months.
In fact, I won't be done with SMG Any% until I get a sub-2:45 Any% 1P only Mario. It might take a while, but that's the goal. After that we'll see what happens. I'll also try to put more relative time into 120 stars, since I don't really run it as much as I would like right now.
For Galaxy 2, I'm going to take a bit of a break from it, I'll still do 242 star runs every now and then for fun, since I really enjoy that category, and my time in that/120 are getting pretty good, but I still want to improve. After I'm more happy with my longer runs on SMG2, I might put some more time back into Any%, but it's not a run I really enjoy at the moment.
For Ty, I intend to put work into Any% up until ESA, if I'm then pretty close to WR after ESA, I'll probably go for that, and if I'm not, or I've already broken it, I'll start routing/learning/running 100%, but not as often as I would have done Any%. 100% interests me from a routing standpoint, and it would be nice to have a bit of a longer run for this game.
Finally, MP3. I'm going to work on Any% Until I get the WR, or at least a 2:25 IGT or less. This will probably involve learning Spider skip, and maybe some other skips, but it's something I really want to do. Also I'll be doing more runs of 100%, and although I'm not really as interested in getting a great time in 100%, I would like to get sub-3:30 IGT, which is pretty close to current WR, so we'll see how I feel about my run when I get to that point.

So also now that I can take a bit of the grind off from the 4 games I've been doing a lot, I have some spaces for other games, and I've been meaning to run some more games anyway, so it's likely you will be seeing some new runs pretty soon, Definitely after ESA if not before. There's a couple of games that I'm already learning, or have strong intentions to, so I'll list them below.

Metroid: Other M - I recently got and finished this game. Really enjoyed, and I've been told that the game is better as a speedrun than casually, so I'll be learning Any% Second Ending pretty soon, and doing runs hopefully soon. Might look into 100% as well.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - I finally got around to playing this game through again, and finished it finally after 9 years or so of owning the game (lol). I'm currently learning Any% Grapple route, however being a noob at wallcrawling + Quad Skip means I've hit a bit of a roadblock. But I'll keep working at it, and hopefully I'll be doing runs soon-ish, or at least partial run attempts for a block of time and then slowly work upto full runs.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - This game is pretty fun, and I don't mean to do this as a super serious run, but just as something quite enjoyable. IDK any categories or anythign for this game, so we'll see, if there's an all stages or smt then I'll probably run that.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - I've been very lazy about this, but I've been trying to play through this game on stream. I'll probably just start playing it off stream as well so that I can finish it up. After I've finished playing through it casually, I'll be learning the Speedrun of it, the Beat The Game category, which is basically just Any%.

Secret of Mana - Been playing through this game casually and absolutely loving it. Once I finish this game, I'll learn the speedrun for it, both Any% and Any% 1P2C. It might be quite a while until this happens though.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - I really enjoy this game, and I've been trying to finish it for a while now. Once I do, I might learn to run Any% of this game. However, I'm not entirely sure I'll enjoy running this, so if I learn some stuff and decide its not for me, I'll just stop learning it.

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc - This is a game I've wanted to learn for a while now, although when I started learning it, it was at the point where breaks were being found basically every day, and a few people told me to hold off for a while until everything settles down. So now I'm just ignoring it for a bit. Once I get interested in it again, I'll probably try and learn it, and hopefully things will be a bit more set on what to do.

Super Mario 64 - I will be learning at least some of 120 stars in the near future, to prepare for the 602 race: bombch.us/giU Also for this race I'll be going back to SMS120 to get better at it again.

TL;DR
Super Mario Galaxy - Not done with it.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Probably only 242.
Ty - Still running Any% a lot.
MP3 - Still running Any% a lot for WR.
