[2010-12-23 19::04:41] Doink: The main hall has been transformed, the comfortable couches removed to make room for guests and small, raised stage on one end for a DJ. Lights hang from the balconies above, and the kitchen staff is busy preparing snack food and drinks as the guests arrive... it is probably time for the pilots to make their entrance, if they wish.
[2010-12-23 19::08:26] Doink: Just about everybody who is anybody at Miskatonic is here. Plus a bunch who aren't. It's not a very big school.
[2010-12-23 19::09:20] Ruru_Fields: was never anywhere but on the party floor, accepingguests and being of general New Years cheer. She's currently wearing a black halter top dress that is appropriately scanty with a pair of fishnet armsocks and stockings to match. She's all dolled up in her finery and is on point as she shuffles from group to group assigning her time in accordance to social standing.
[2010-12-23 19::12:23] John_Kilanger: is down ot the party floor, mingling with the few people from the Book club that managed to show up.
[2010-12-23 19::13:19] Kazimir_Prochazka: is instead outside of the back door, frantically sucking down a cigarette and pacing. He hardly can be called dressed up as he's wearing little more than a button up shirt over jeans.
[2010-12-23 19::15:49] Henri_DEllaine: is with Kaz out back, smoking out his anxiety in a nice pair of jeans, collared shirt, a decent blazer, and a gatsby hat.
[2010-12-23 19::17:41] Ruru_Fields: goes to find Mr. Black after doing all of her initial rounds of placating the plebians.

"Who do you take me for? Some kind of person who doesn't hold the adults in thrall to my whims?" Sheparts and keeps in space, of course she's already taller than him, but the low heels she's wearing just make sure to point out the fact.

[2010-12-23 19::36:44] Ruru_Fields: giggles a bit and takes Joseph's arm in hers and escorts him over to a group of lacrosse girls and moves up to the captain. "So, Melody. Have you met Joseph? He's about to become the hero of this party." She grins and gives a nudge to the guy and moves off to scoop up to Kaz and Henri. "Hi guys!"
[2010-12-23 19::37:20] Doink: Black allows himself to be led with all the grace of a man determined not to appear that he's being led.

[2010-12-23 19::39:01] Doink: Harriet, if one was to look around the party, would be seen chatting amiably with a small clump of what appear to be art and science club members, off to the side near the kitchen. Unfortunately, it seems that Jeanne is also in that group.

[2010-12-23 19::44:23] Ruru_Fields: snags Henri too. "Boys." She says in a beleagured and weary voice.

[2010-12-23 19::45:29] Kazimir_Prochazka: puts on the worst smile imaginable.
[2010-12-23 19::47:00] Henri_DEllaine: "Kaz, we can do this, we just need a different approach... and I need to know more about fucking art."
[2010-12-23 19::48:21] Doink: Someone in the group pokes Harriet as you approach, so she turns and notices you. "Wha—Oh, Kaz! Henri! You finally decided to show up?" She's smiling while she says it, at least.

She says justout of earshot of the group and turns on her dazzling grin as she approaches the knot of senstive aesthetes and consolidated scientists, dragging the boys with her. "HE-llo everyone~." She says as she looks about. "Kaz and Henri here put a lot of effort into this party, I thought theymight be comfortable here."

The party will be kicking off in just a little bit." And then she deposits her charges and beelines for John.
[2010-12-23 19::53:42] Doink: Harriet shrugs. "I mean, I'm not really the party type, but it's a change, right?" She nods at Ruru. "Have fun with that."
[2010-12-23 19::54:12] Doink: Jeanne nods. "We don't get many parties like this around here. Its kind of exciting."
[2010-12-23 19::55:08] Henri_DEllaine: "Well, now we have someone to foot the bill besides the Twilight Lodge, right?"
[2010-12-23 19::55:13] Doink: The party's Book Club contingent is relatively small. Mostly John and the Fisher siblings. And why they came is anyone's guess.
[2010-12-23 19::55:38] Kazimir_Prochazka: "This place is sort of in the middle of nowhere..."
[2010-12-23 19::57:18] Ruru_Fields: looks at John and the siblings. She opens her mouth than closes it before crossing her arms and frowning a bit. "You guys good? I can't tell. You should be having fun. Are you?"

[2010-12-23 19::58:06] Kazimir_Prochazka: "It's an alright school...I suppose..."
[2010-12-23 19::58:07] John_Kilanger: "I'm doing alright on my end. I've enevr really been one for big gatherings."
[2010-12-23 19::58:10] Doink: Nathan Fisher just nods. "I am enjoying myself, thank you. We don't get many opportunities for this sort of thing."
[2010-12-23 19::58:26] Kazimir_Prochazka: shoots Henri a glance that asks what the hell are we supposed to say from here.
[2010-12-23 19::59:07] Doink: Jeanne saves the day, somewhat. "So, Henri, you were at the Lodge, right? Did you see my new work there? In the main hall? They said they'd have some of it up by then."
[2010-12-23 20::00:19] Ruru_Fields: "Good. Great. Keep doing that." She says and then flutters off to a group of track girls and tries to entangle them with some boys. Busy.
[2010-12-23 20::03:13] Henri_DEllaine: blushes out of embarrassment for a moment. "Sorry, they had me so tied up in dignitaries I couldn't get a chance to look for them. Besides, I'd much would have preferred anything you had to say about it over those old men, anyways."
[2010-12-23 20::03:50] Henri_DEllaine: nudges Kaz and whispers under his breath "ask her about that project or whatever"
[2010-12-23 20::04:54] Doink: Jeanne: "O-oh, right. Well, I guess you all would have been pretty busy. Important people and all..." She seems a little abashed.
[2010-12-23 20::05:06] Ruru_Fields: keeps an eye on Joseph, waiting for the signal.

[2010-12-23 20::07:34] Doink: Joseph, it appears, is keeping with his own group of Ulthar House members, who have congregated around the drinks.

[2010-12-23 20::10:32] Doink: Jeanne: "Nothing major. Just finishing my commissions for the lodge, and the Drama Club asked us to do some backdrops for their next production, so I've been helping with that."

[2010-12-23 20::11:20] Henri_DEllaine: "Well, I've been trying to get better and all, been doing a lot of sketching. Maybe I should actually hang around and help out sometime."
[2010-12-23 20::13:24] Doink: Harriet giggles. "Of course you do. How else would you have gotten a call about it that soon? Besides, I'm just one girl, you have /the/ Dr. Al-Misiri and the rest of a whole science team. I'm sure your detection system is much better already."

[2010-12-23 20::15:08] Doink: Meanwhile, on the other side of the party, Rachel Fisher sidles up to John. "S-sorry we're not very... exciting," she says, quietly.

[2010-12-23 20::28:35] Henri_DEllaine: "Why of course, Madamoiselle." Henri gives a bit of an overplayed sweep of the hand and half bow, playing up the accent a little for the delivery before returning to normal candor. "So, you thirsty? I was going to go grab some punch."

[2010-12-23 20::35:26] Doink: He chuckles. "No, that was Dave. He still brags about that, you know."
[2010-12-23 20::35:37] Doink: And then, he's gone into the crowd. How /did/ he do that?
[2010-12-23 20::36:52] Ruru_Fields: opens her eyes wider. He... Brags about that?!? She flushes in shame and tries to keep it all in. SO EMBARRASSING. She will find this Dave and... and... SOMETHING. She moves over to Joseph, putting her party face back on.
[2010-12-23 20::39:26] Doink: Joseph Black is fraternizing with the group around the punchbowl. He appears to be putting his arm around a member of the drama club before very quickly withdrawing it as he spies Ruru. "And here's our hostess now!" He seems to have been enjoying the punch.

She uses a glass and a fork she saved for just such an occasion to rnig for everyone's attention.

First off sorry for having to keep it a secret for so long. However, more importantly I wanted to throw this party to thank each an every one of you for making our school lives so much fun, without you I know I wouldn't be as happy as I am today."
[2010-12-23 20::53:17] Doink: There is a murmur of polite applause, overshadowed by some loud cheering and the occasional jeer.

[2010-12-23 20::59:09] Doink: The light show begins. The beat drops, a dark, low electronic sound, resonating through the stone of the hall. The crowd begins to move.

[2010-12-23 21::03:39] Doink: Henri, something is.... wrong. The way everyone is moving, the way the lights are... it seems somehow out-of-place to you. It's not the way it /should/ look.
[2010-12-23 21::06:05] Henri_DEllaine: tenses at the sudden change of atmosphere. He puts back on his party face and turns to Kaz. "Hey, so, now that things have started. How about we go get that special thing we had saved in the kitchen, right?" He gives his comrade a showwy wink to mask just how serious his face is as he turns away towards the kitchen.
[2010-12-23 21::16:15] Ruru_Fields: descends into the throng with both arms up in high-five position. There better be hundreds of high fives as she lords through the room.
[2010-12-23 21::17:23] Doink: She gets a fair number, as the crowd buffets her around.
[2010-12-23 21::18:15] John_Kilanger: left eye twitches in irritation. Thankfully, his shades keep it from being noticed.
[2010-12-23 21::25:44] Henri_DEllaine: makes sure the kitchen is fairly cleared of people.
[2010-12-23 21::26:33] Doink: The kitchen is. A few staff people are left tidying up near the back, but thats it.
[2010-12-23 21::27:56] Henri_DEllaine: pulls Kaz in and tells him in a low tone with an eye on the staff. "Something is dreadfully not right here."
[2010-12-23 21::28:29] Doink: The bass in the main hall rattles the dishes in the cupboards.

[2010-12-23 21::30:05] Kazimir_Prochazka: "How she's getting away with this with NERV up our collective ass is beyond me."
[2010-12-23 21::30:58] Henri_DEllaine: "She's Ruru, you're surprised by that? She's probably had this planned since we got here... No, I mean... something feels really off. As soon as the music kicked in... this place just doesn't feel like the same space."

[2010-12-23 21::40:37] Doink: Harreit and Jeanne, meanwhile, are still standing outside, watching the dancing crowd with curious and slightly frightened expressions.
[2010-12-23 21::40:53] Doink: The guards let Henri through with a shrug. Pilots are pilots.
[2010-12-23 21::41:09] Dmitriy_Platonov: Dmitriy's door is closed, though. Closed and locked.

[2010-12-23 21::43:01] Kazimir_Prochazka: awkwardly begins speaking to the two girls: "Well, our little suprise is either in the hands of someone else, or it was "requositioned" by NERV. Henri's looking for it still."

"I hate the music too and with the influence from the light show it probably can... I mean, it reminds me of..." - he drops his sentence, trying to smile again. - "Hey, the funny thing is that the DJ is a Section Two agent. Don't tell Ruru, maybe she wouldn't like it."
