Character Recap

Main cast:

Amber Suarz: That’s you. A young Zheziin mage of about twenty years age, looking to make discoveries like mother and father always did.

Kaara Suarz: Your mother. An old, experienced Zheziin mage who has grown a little too old to plunder the depths now. Acts as mentor to you, and group mom to the party.

Vakith the Lone Justiciar: Ykliss Paladin. Had been hunting the Necromancer (Hope) but was convinced of her repentance. Amber and Hope offered to help him prove himself as a Paladin by stopping evil. Or something.

Hope (clanless): Baerysun ex-Necromancer, Spiritcaller-in-Training. Was a Necromancer running a mining operation consisting of skeletal miners, but convinced to quit Necromancy because of the danger it opened her up to. Is now trying to learn the far more respected art of Spirit Magic.

Sally: Our lizard pet/friend. Hope had asked us to get rid of it (it destroyed a pair of skeletons) but instead we tamed it. Apparently has the soul of a fire elemental, and has been creating strange orbs of Heat energy. We can ride her now.

Antagonist Cast:

Ku-Lung: Massive winged reptile, known as a "Shōlong." Rather polite, and apparently immortal. Was trapped in the Ancient Vyrian ruins for about 3000 years it seems. Wants to destroy the Contagion. More recently decided that we’re his bitches, and wants to use us as tools in the fight against the Contagion under threat of killing us.

The Contagion: Named so by Ku-Lung. May or may not be one entity. Exists as silver-violet growths either covering or comprising creatures that strike mostly mindlessly. Exception was the “wall of flesh” that spoke our language and displayed intelligence. And the desire to kill us and make us into things.

Minor characters:

Huran the Wise Mentor: the priest of Light’s Mercy and his apprentice was one of the disappearances. Blind, but sees auras. Very old.

Obsidian Jokra: Fire specialist. Helped us figure out how Sally works.

Snow Jokra: Spirit specialist. Was training Hope in Spirit magic.

Rikors the Blessed: Priest of the Jokra chapel. Vakith had been spending time with him.

Justice, Diamond, Cloud, Curiosity and Svaelsha Jokra: Other five mages of the Jokra Mage’s Guild.
