- "RING!" My alarm clook rang as the clock hit 8:00 A.M.
- "Five more minutes..." I moaned as I reached to hit the snooze button.
- After a few more minutes of rest, my alarm clock went off again, and I dragged myself out of bed.
- I then walked over to my calander to see what was happening today.
- It read, "December 1st, 2013. The Bell Tree Fair begins today."
- "I forgot about the Fair!" I exclaimed as I ran to get dressed.
- After I got dressed, I ran staight to the fair, but I ran into some obstacles.
- First, I ran into a bunch of gamers talking about Pokemon.
- "I like Hugh, he was the best rival!" A girl yelled.
- "He only talked about his sister's Purrlion... it got old." A man shouted back.
- "Hey, do you think Hugh was great?" The girl asked me.
- "Sorry, I've got to go, bye!" I exclaimed as I ran around them.
- I almost made it to the fair, but then I ran into a woman asking me to make a hand turkey.
- "Hey, do you wanna make a hand turkey? I'll give you a special prize if you do~!" The woman asked.
- "Hm, a prize, eh? Okay, I'll make one." I replied.
- "Okay, here's a paper and some pens and crayons. Oh, and by the way, I'm Jennifer. Nice to meet you." Jennifer said as she handed me supplies.
- "Okay, thanks Jennifer. Oh, and my name's Hikari." I replied.
- "Hikari, okay, that's a nice name! Anyways, have a good time making your hand turkey!" Jennifer exclaimed.
- I nodded my head and walked to a nearby table to start my hand turkey.
- "Hm, what should I make..." I thought to myself.
- "How about a Pokemon theme?" A girl next to me suggested.
- "That's a good idea, in fact, I ran into some people taking about Pokemon earlier. Anyways, thanks!" I thanked the girl.
- "No problem!" She said with a grin.
- I then went to work on my Pokemon hand turkey. I made Combusken the head of the turkey, and added the Kalos starters onto the index finger.
- On the middle finger, I added Pikachu, Marill, Ekans and Porygon. On the ring finger, I added a Mudkip, Oshawott and Bidoof.
- "Remove that Bidoof." A man next to me said as he looked at my hand turkey.
- "How come?" I asked quite confused.
- "I find it offensive." He replied.
- "Um, ok..." I replied looking at his shirt, "Jake." I said as I noticed his nametag.
- I then continued my hand and added a Treecko and Squirtle on the pinky finger.
- On the remaining blank space, I added Goomy, Swalot, Grimmer, Unown and Ditto.
- "Hooray! I'm finished!" I exclaimed as I got up and went towards Jen.
- "I finished!" I said as I handed over my hand turkey.
- "Good Job! Here's your prize!" She exclamied as she handed me two slips of paper.
- "What's this?" I asked as I looked at them.
- "They're TBT Fair tickets. You can redeem them at the Fair's shop for prizes!" Jen yelled.
- "Oh, thanks you!" I said with a smile on my face.
- I then waved good bye and went towards the enterance of the fair.
- As I entered, I saw a stand labeled, "Information Booth."
- I went up to it and read the information on it.
- It said, "December 1st:
- Caption the Picture
- New Leaf Daily Photo Challenge
- Fair Food Stall
- Spin the Whell"
- "I guess these are the events today!" I exclamied.
- "So, I guess I should go try out the Caption the Picture booth, first."
- I walked to the Event Pavilion, and walked up to the CTP booth.
- "Hello, welcome to the Caption the Picture booth!~ I'm Kaiaa, and I'll explain the rules." Kaiaa cheerfully said to me.
- "OK, so what's the rules?" I asked polietly.
- "There's only two rules, keep them appropriate and don't insult anyone's captions. Understand?" Kaiaa asked.
- "I do." I replied.
- "Okay, so today, you'll be able to caption this picture and recieve 2 tickets for doing so. And if it's really good, you may recieve 4 tickets! Anyways, here's you picture~!" Kaaia said as she handed over the picture.
- "Thank you." I thanked her, and then walked over to a table to analyze my picture.
- Okay, so it's from the Animal Crossing Movie... Yu, Ai, Margie, Rosie, and Alfranso are in a boat. Yu and Alfranso are wearing pirate outfits...
- "I've got a caption!" I exclamied to myself.
- Underneath the picture I wrote, "Ai: Um, Yu, where did you get this boat?"
- Kapp'n: Gimme back meh boat!
- Yu: Onwards, and hurry!!!
- Alfranso: Aye Aye, captain! *swings oar as fast as he can* "
- I then got up and gave the picture back to Kaaia.
- "Thanks for entering! As a reward, you get four tickets!" Kaaia exclaimed as she handed over two tickets to me.
- "Thank you, for the tickets!" I thanked as I walked away.
- She waved good bye as I made my way to the booth right next to me labeled, "Spin the Wheel."
- "Welcome to Spin the Wheel, one of the finest events here at The Bell Tree Fair! I'm Justin, and I'm the Spinner of Wheels! What's your name?" Justin asked.
- "I'm Hikari, nice to meet ya." I replied.
- "Okay, Hikari, want to try you luck on the wheel? You could win, or lose tickets! But, if your really lucky, you could win a pinwheel!" Justin explained.
- "I don't know... I don't want to lose my 3 tickets." I replied worriedly.
- "You could also win some more tickets... or even a pinwheel! Give it a try." Justin urged me.
- "Okay, fine." I said, after being conviced.
- I then walked up to the wheel behind Justin and took a spin.
- It went around... and around... and around... then it landed on...
- Pinwheel.
- "Congrats! You got the grand prize! Here's your prize!" Justin said handing me a pinwheel.
- "That's amazing! Thanks so much, Justin!" I exclaimed as I grabbed the rare item.
- "No problem, and come again!" Justin replied as I walked off.
- "Hm, I think I should spend some of my tickets on something." I thought to myself.
- As I looked around for a shop, I bumped into my friend, Ceci.
- "Ouchie!" Ceci exclamied as I bumped into her.
- "Watch where you're go- Hikari?" Ceci realized it was I, who bumped into her.
- "Sorry about that Ceci. DO you wanna join me in the fair, though?" I asked.
- "Oh, is that what this is? I was wondering around and ended up here. Anyways, sure let's play at the fair together!" Ceci replied cheerfully.
- "Okay, well I'm going to buy something at the shop, so I'll be back in a moment." I said as I continued to look for the shop.
- I, eventually, found the shop.
- When I arrived at the shop, I noticed that various colored feathers were being sold.
- The green one caught my eye.
- "How much is the Green Feather?" I asked the cashier.
- "It... five tickets I believe." The Cashier replied.
- "Okay, I have six, so I can buy it! Here's five tickets." I said handing over 5 tickets.
- "Here you go, kiddo." The Cashier replied handing me my Green Feather.
- "Thanks!" I waved as I walked back to Ceci, and I noticed she had two other people with her, one boy and one girl.
- "Oh, Hikari, you're back! I was just talking to these two people. They were teaching me about the fair." Ceci explained.
- "I'm Kippla." Kippla introduced herself.
- "Name's Riley." Riley replied.
- "Nice to meet you two, I'm Hikari!" I yelled with a smile on my face.
- "Okay, Hikari, we were thinking about going to the Fair Food Stall. Wanna come?" Kippla asked.
- "Sure." I replied.
- "Then let's go~" Ceci said as she ran to the Food Stall.
- "Sorry if she's a bit to fast for ya!" I said as I ran after her, trailing about 3 meters behind her.
- Kippla and Riley followed behind me as I ran.
- We ran about a 2 miles and we all made it to the Food Stall about two minutes after Ceci.
- "Man, you three are slow..." Ceci thought aloud as we all huffed and puffed.
- "Or maybe you're too fast..." Riley replied breathing very heavyly.
- "Anyways, let's see what this place is about!" Ceci exclamied.
- "Give us some time to catch our breath..." Kippla and I said together.
- "Aw, you guys are no fun..." Ceci said grumply.
- After a few minutes, Riley, Kippla and I all were breathing normally again, so we went up to the host of the event to see what were suppose to do.
- "Hello. I'm Jeremy. Welcome to the Fair Food Stall. Would you like to participate?" Jeremy asked.
- "Yes!" We all exclamied together.
- "A group I see. This should be intresting. Anyways, at the Fair Food Stall, you create a fair or winter related food item, and then we judge it. You get two tickets for entering and if it's really good, get 4 tickets. Underdstand?" Jeremy asked.
- "We do." I replied for all of us.
- "Okay, there's a working station for four over there," Jeremy pointed at a room, "So, that's where you'll make your food. Anyways, you can now begin." Jeremy said.
- "Let's go make some delish food!" Ceci exclaimed running to the kitchen.
- We followed and made it to the kitchen a lot later than her again.
- "Ugh, could you be any slower?" Ceci complained.
- "Let's just begin." Kippla ignored her.
- "What should we make? Cupcakes? Cookies?" I asked.
- "How about Funnel Cake with sugar? Sugar looks like snow, and a Funnel Cakes's a fair food." Riley suggesed.
- "Sure." I replied.
- "Sounds fun!" Ceci agreed.
- "Eh, why not?" Kippla agrred as well.
- "So, let's make a funnel cake!" Riley exclamied.
- "Wait, how do we make a funnel cake?" Kippla asked.
- "Don't worry, I have a recipe." Riley said while grabbing a nearby paper and pen.
- He wrote this down:
- (Recipe from Food.com)
- Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 3 2/3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- vegetable oil, for frying
- Directions:
- 1. Beat eggs and sugar together and then add the milk slowly--beat. Add the dry ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy.
- 2. Pour batter into a funnel and at the same time, use your finger to plug the hole. In a large cast iron pot, add 2 inches of oil to the bottom.
- 3. When the oil becomes hot, move your hand over the pot and slowly release your finger so the batter can start cooking.
- 4. Move the funnel around to make designs.
- 5. Brown on both sides--then immediately remove and drain extremely well.
- 6. Top with powdered sugar as a topping.
- -Riley
- "Okay, so you guys go ahead and fetch me some ingredients." Riley commanded.
- "I'll get some eggs and sugar!" Ceci exclamied.
- "Then I'll get the milk and floor, and Hikari can get the salt, baking soda and vegetable oil." Kippla explained.
- "Okay." I replied looking throught the cabinets.
- I found the salt and baking soda in a nearby cabinet, but I couldn't find the vegetable oil.
- "Got my stuff!" Ceci gave her ingredients to Riley.
- "Me too." Kippla said as she gave Riley her ingredients as well.
- "Hikari, do you have everything?" Riley asked.
- "Everything, but the vegetable oil." I replied.
- "Hm... I think it's over there." Riley said pointing near the fridge.
- I then saw the bottle full of the oil siting right next to it.
- "Oh, I guess I never thought about looking near the fridge..." I thought aloud as I walked over to the fridge to grab it.
- I then handed the oil over to Riley.
- "Okay, now that we have the ingredients, let's begin." Riley said.
- Riley then began to mix things to together and put the mixture in a funnel. He also plugged the funnel with his finger.
- He then added oil to the pan, released his finger, and began to pour the batter in different designs.
- "Okay, now we just have to let it brown." Riley explained.
- "Wow, you're really good at cooking!" Kippla exclaimed.
- "Hehe, thanks." Riley said, blushing.
- The funnel cake began to brown, and Riley then flipped it over.
- "Anyways, maybe we should add something to this to make it special..." Riley asked.
- "How about... green and red sprinkles?" Kippla suggested.
- "And Peppermint flavored chocolate!" I exclamied as the thought came to me.
- "Those are wonderfully ideas!" Ceci agreed.
- "I think so too. Let's use 'em." Riley said as he carefully removed the funnel cake from the pan.
- "I'll go get the sprinkles." Kippla said, while walking over to the cabinet.
- "And I'll go ahead and make some peppermint chocolate." I said grabbing some dark chocolate and peppermint extract.
- "You know how to make peppermint chocolate?" Ceci asked.
- "Yeah, all you have to do is mix the two together." I said mixing the peppermint and chocolate together.
- "Okay, that looks good." I said as I stopped mixing.
- "Mhm, things are starting to smell good..." Kippla said as she walked back over to us with her sprinkles.
- She then poured it into my chocolate, and Riley then poured it onto the funnel cake, and Ceci put some sugar on top.
- "Looks fabulous!" Ceci exclamied.
- "I agree!" Kippla yelled.
- "I second that." I replied with a smile on my face.
- "Let's turn it in." Riley said towards all of us.
- "Right!" All three of us exclamied.
- Riley picked up the plate with the funnel cake on it, and we all followed him to the judging table with Jeremy siting behind it.
- "Here you go, sir." Riley said putting the plate in front of him.
- "Oh, a collabartive effort I see." Jeremy said with smile as he looked at our dish.
- "What do you call it?" Jeremy asked.
- "Um, how 'bout... A Sugary surprise." Riley said.
- "Okay, well here comes the judging..." Jeremy said as he grabbed his fork.
- He dived right into the funnel cake, and his face began to glow with delight as he took his first bite.
- "I think he likes it." I whispered to Riley.
- "Yeah, me too." Riley replied back.
- Jeremy then took bigger and bigger bites out of it until it was all done.
- "That... was great!" Jeremy exclaimed. "I award you all 4 tickets!" He handed all four of us 4 tickets.
- "Yay!" We all exclamied in joy.
- "Thanks so much for the tickets!" Ceci thanked Jeremy.
- "Yeah, thanks!" Kippla said.
- Riley and I nodded our heads in thanks, and then followed the girls out of the stand.
- We then noticed that it was 8 PM, and the fair was about to close.
- "Uh oh, it looks like the fair's about to close..." Ceci thought aloud.
- "Maybe we should buy something with our tickets." Riley said.
- "Sure!" I exclamied.
- We all ran to the shop, and for once, we made it there together.
- "I decided that I'll try to run slower, so you guys wouldn't get tired." Ceci said with said shy smile.
- "Thanks." All three of said at the same time.
- "Anyways, what should we buy?" Kippla asked.
- "Oh, I like this yellow feather!" Ceci exclamied.
- "This red feather looks cool." Riley thought aloud.
- "I really like this blur feather." Kippla said as she looked at it.
- "And I have this green feather." I said showing everyone my feather.
- "Hey, how about we all get feathers, so we can remember this day together?" Kippla suggested.
- "Aw, that's so sweet! Let's do everyone!" Ceci urged.
- "Okay, I'll buy the red feather, the blue feather and the yellow feather." Riley said as everyone handed over their tickets.
- "Wait, Hikari, what are you going to do with those tickets?" Kippla asked looking at my remaining six tickets.
- "Oh, I'm saving them for the next fair." I said.
- "Okay then..." Kippla said.
- "Anyways, here's our feathers, everyone." Riley told us as he handed Kippla and Ceci the blue and yellow feather.
- "Wow, their so soft..." Ceci thoguht aloud.
- "Yeah... and beautiful too..." Kippla agreed.
- "So, I guess it's time to go..." I said with a sad tone.
- "Yeah... it's too bad the fair doesn't last forever..." Kippla replied sadly.
- "But, we'll have a friendship feathers!" Ceci exclamied.
- "Yeah, and I'll treasure this day forever!" Riley said with a smile on his face.
- We all then looked at each other, and nodded.
- We held out our feathers in front of us, and had them touch each other.
- "Fair Friends Forever!" We all exclamied as the clock hit 8:05 PM, and as the fair closed, our friendship stregthed.
- The End.
