We are all human. We all make mistakes. We do our best to learn from our mistakes and grow.

However, when there is no growth, there is an issue. It seems that this is where things stand right now, as the same mistakes have been repeated time and time again.

To anyone who has been directly affected by this, no words can take back the pain that has been inflicted. What he has done is horrendous. Words can't right the wrongs that have already occurred, but I sincerely hope that amends are being made, and that no one else has to go through what you have gone through.

Alex Strife, I’ve worked with him in the past, and if there is something he knows, improvement takes time.  I sincerely hope that he can see the hurt he's caused, I hope it drives him to make changes and improve as a person. He can make the changes necessary in his own life, and I hope he does, for his own sake.

All of that said, Apex 2015 is around the corner, and as far as our community has come, we still have further to go. While Alex Strife is still the main guy in charge, I don't foresee it being possible for him to continue holding the banner. Our concern should not be on numbers or sponsorships. To remain in his role would convey the idea that this type of behavior is acceptable, that this will be ignored, and that this will happen again.  If he does feel that he can continue, I'd have to ask him to reconsider.

We have worked so hard in recent memory to cultivate a scene where a wide array of people can make an impact. We need to continue giving the message of openness and we, as a community, need to continue making our events safe spaces.

Apex is humongous, and Alex has spoken about it for years to come, but Apex is bigger than just Alex Strife. There is a dedicated staff of hard working people that are caught up in this mess as well, and I hope that they can do the tasks at hand without this looming over their shoulders.

I hope for Apex to last for years to come, however, Alex Strife's association has to end.
