Garlyle: Date: March 2nd ; Time: pick an hour
[6:18pm] Sara: 3 PM
[6:19pm] Garlyle: Alright, early afternoon then!  The Location is Grume Village, in one of its buildings near the center, which functions more or less as the jail.
[6:19pm] Garlyle: Not that the little town isn't peaceful enough in general to not really need one, but...
[6:20pm] Garlyle: Well, this time they have a reason to use it.
[6:20pm] Garlyle: In the early hours of March 1st, one of the raiding Pokemon bands' seeming leader - a human leader! - was captured, and eyes have had to be watching him pretty much constantly.
[6:21pm] Garlyle: ...Although he has spent a great deal of that time asleep and snoring rather loudly.
[6:23pm] Garlyle: Nobody's been really able to get a word out of him as to what's going on, but maybe some fresh faces can change his mind?
[6:23pm] • Camellia enters the scene, recalling Assam just outside the jail as she steps in, Oolong at her side and Chamomile contained in a small lantern hanging off of her staff.
[6:23pm] • Sara doesn't hear anything disruptive about the man sleeping :V - all the same, she's here, hoping to find some answers. Kuji said something about him being half-pokemon, which sounds crazy. worth a look anyway.
[6:24pm] Steve: Gaav grumbles, claws firmly in his ears as he steps in time on their way to the cell. "Buck up, old chum," Steve insists, tugging the brim of his hat over his eyes.
[6:24pm] Camellia: "...And remember Oolong, keep an eye on his aura for me as we have this chat. Keep the snark to a minimum too." She quietly says to her pokemon before taking a look around into the facility.
[6:25pm] Reinhard: "A WHOLE tree, they said? Nonsense."
[6:25pm] Reinhard: "...Was a nice tree, though."
[6:26pm] Camellia: "But not old enough for me to speak with, so it must have only grown in size, not in actual maturity."
[6:27pm] • Sara waves to Camellia - the two had talked a few weeks back, but she hadn't seen the ghost-channeler since then. <Oh, you came to talk to the man as well?>
[6:28pm] Garlyle: The cell - singular - is pretty relaxed.  It's a log cabin type of building, the only real steel in the place being the bars and door into the cell itself, with a nice comfy desk for whoever's guarding to laze at - and a long shelf of books nearby to help them pass the time.
[6:28pm] Garlyle: The cell itself is pretty barren and basic, but it still looks comfy - especially compared to cells in Ivoryscape.  There's a nice bed in one corner.
[6:29pm] Garlyle: The leader of the raids, still wrapped up in his furs, is ignoring the bed in favour of snoring on the floor, limbs strewn kind of haphazardly.
[6:29pm] • Camellia turns slightly to ensure Sara a better view while lip-reading. "The sooner this affair is over, the sooner we can all disperse and go our own ways. I don't like being confined to this village."
[6:29pm] • Reinhard scratches his head.
[6:29pm] Reinhard: "Do we throw something at him?"
[6:30pm] Sara: <I suppose...it's been pretty peaceful, though.> To Reinhard, sara just shrugs.
[6:30pm] • Camellia sits down cross-legged in front of the cell, carefully observing the man and looking for anything that could relate to the oddities she'd heard of - especially that ability to grow trees.
[6:33pm] Garlyle: He doesn't actually seem that odd, really.  Dirty, yes - his furs are matted a little and his skin's tanned and even his facepaint looks like it's starting to smudge, though that might just be from having been in the cell for a day.
[6:34pm] Steve: "Hmm...." Steve digs into his pack, and takes out a camping cup. He approaches the cell, and starts dragging it back and forth across the bars. "Visitors."
[6:34pm] Camellia: <Can I...?> Oolong opens his ghostly maw wide. "No." Camellia shakes her head in response.
[6:34pm] Sara: (sorry, brb)
[6:34pm] • Reinhard clears his throat and braces himself for LOUD. "GET UP!"
[6:35pm] Garlyle: dong dong dong dong dong, the sound of raking a cup on cell bars produces a pretty loud clattering that kind of hurts your ears.  The wildling jolts awake quite suddenly, flipping from his position into being down on all fours within moments, looking ready to pounce.
[6:35pm] • Steve puts away the cup, and backs up from the bars. "Alright, he's up."
[6:36pm] Reinhard: "Hrm."
[6:37pm] Garlyle: When it becomes clear to him that those bars are going to get in the way of his attack, however, he rocks back onto his rear and sits like that, staring up at you all grumpily and questioningly.
[6:38pm] Camellia: "These are unfortunate circumstances we're meeting in." Camellia sets Chammy's lantern down and folds her hands. "Please do calm down though."
[6:41pm] Garlyle: Grumblegrumble.  He makes some kind of noise, but makes himself a litlte more comfortable where he is.
[6:42pm] Camellia: "What do you call yourself? What should I call you?"
[6:44pm] Garlyle: He tilts his head at this in confusion and wrinkles his nose.  And squirms around a little before he snaps his attention back to Camellia, as if it suddenly gets through his head what she's trying to say.  "Name?"
[6:44pm] Reinhard: "Yes. Should we... use less words?"
[6:44pm] • Steve nods with a smile. "I'm Steve. She's Camellia. Your name is...?"
[6:45pm] • Camellia nods. "Yes. Your name."
[6:46pm] Garlyle: He thumbs towards his own chest confidently.  "Ull!  Am Ull!"
[6:47pm] Steve: "Alright then, Ull." Steve tilts his head. "Why are you in this cell?" If Ull was unsure as to why he was here, this could be a long interrogation...
[6:48pm] • Camellia smiles. "A fine name, Ull." She pulls out her pokedex, the entry images for Tropius and Noctowl pulled up. "Your friends?"
[6:48pm] Garlyle: Ull has to give this some thought.  He seems to be trying to come up with an answer for Steve, but then gets distracted by the image.  "Yes.  Friends.  Okay?"
[6:50pm] Camellia: "But not owned by you then..." Camellia mutters to herself, imperceptively soft, as she puts away her pokedex. "Why are you in this cell?" She repeats Steve's question, to try to get things back on track.
[6:51pm] • Steve whispers to Camellia. "What did happen to his friends?"
[6:52pm] Garlyle: Ull looks around some, still pondering his answer - or maybe just trying to get a grasp of what the question actually is in the first place.  For being, from the looks of it, the same age as Reinhard... he's sure not showing it mentally.  Then his attention snaps back.  "Lost fight!" he announces.
[6:52pm] Camellia: "I was hoping to ask him about how organized the pokemon in the jungle were, whether it was he alone who brought them together to steal from the village, or if they had done so of their own agency. It seems such a concept may be difficult to convey to him, however." Camellia whispers back.
[6:53pm] Camellia: "As for those pokemon in particular, I imagine they were released back into the jungle? I do not know."
[6:53pm] • Reinhard keeps on whispering. "Probably lost entirely, all considered. Let's try to avoid teaching him the concept of 'stealing' at the moment."
[6:54pm] • Steve nods, and looks to Ull. "After you lost the fight, your friends were released back into the jungle," he told Ull. "They have a place to go in there to be safe, yes?"
[6:56pm] Garlyle: "Friends fine," he shrugs, and flops onto his back almost lazily.  "Are tough."  He doesn't seem worried about them at all.
[6:57pm] Reinhard: "So they ARE wild. And that's quite likely a no to any hideout."
[6:57pm] Reinhard: "Now... How did you make that tree?"
[6:57pm] Camellia: "Do you have family? Not pokemon, but humans." Camellia gestures to her pokemon and to herself and the others as well, making the distinction clear.
[7:00pm] Garlyle: "?" He tilts his head a little to the first question Reinhard poses.  "Tree?  Made grow!" he gestures proudly, but that doesn't seem to offer any real actual answer.
[7:00pm] Reinhard: "Erm. Hm. Maybe there's a better way to word it."
[7:00pm] Camellia: "Does anyone have a seed handy?"
[7:01pm] Reinhard: "Only if you're ready to break the roof."
[7:01pm] Sara: <how did you do it?>
[7:03pm] Garlyle: Ull doesn't give any reaction to suddenly being spoken with psychically, he just responds like it's a normal question.  "Magic!" and his answer seems complete nonsense.  It's about the only solid thought that comes out of the haze that is his mind, too.
[7:05pm] Reinhard: "Magic? Who taught you?"
[7:05pm] Sara: well, that's wholly unhelpful. so is the itching on Sara's shoulderblades. <Anyone else want to explain that?>
[7:07pm] Garlyle: "Fera!  Fera!" Ull answers that question with something wholly unhelpful as well.  He's at least sitting up again, eyes bright suddenly.
[7:08pm] Camellia: "Is that the name of a pokemon?"
[7:08pm] Camellia: "Or a human?"
[7:10pm] Garlyle: "Pokemon?" his head tilts in confusion.  "Human?" oh dear, this can't be good.  "Fera!"
[7:11pm] Reinhard: "Maybe a different approach. Where is Fera?"
[7:11pm] • Camellia patiently flips her pokedex back open and pulls up the entries for the four pokemon that were used in the fight, flipping through them one at a time with a pause to allow Ull to respond. "Fera?"
[7:13pm] Garlyle: "Fera!  Fera!" he's gotten all excited and isn't exactly helping anything; it's vaguely like trying to get stuff out of a small child who's excited about their favourite cartoon character.
[7:14pm] Sara: <What does fera look like? is it big or little?> Hopefully a description - even a vague one, would help.
[7:14pm] Reinhard: "Mn... Better than that. Someone get paper and pencil, maybe he can draw it."
[7:14pm] Kuji joined the chat room.
[7:15pm] • Steve nods, and runs off to the desk to get just that.

[7:15pm] Garlyle: He spends a moment still nearly chanting that name, and then springs up onto all fours with a fierce look on his face, and nearly busts some eardrums with the roar that escapes from him.

[7:21pm] Garlyle: Steve's pretty much the only human in the room whose body doesn't instinctively shrink away when he does it.  Even though Sara's deaf, it isn't just a roar that hits the ears - it rings through your soul and terrifies the three of you for a few moments.  Gaav and whatever Reinhard has with him nearly go bolting from the room, and Chammy looks slightly
[7:21pm] Garlyle: discomforted.
[7:22pm] Reinhard: "Felt like magic to me!"
[7:22pm] Reinhard: "This, ah, does answer nothing, though... are you there?"
[7:22pm] • Camellia shuts her eyes tightly for the duration of the roar, her hands tightly rumpling the hem of her robes. A moment after it subsided, she opens her eyes again. "Oolong, what did his aura look like while he was doing that?"
[7:22pm] Kuji joined the chat room.

[7:24pm] Sara: it's hard to fathom a deaf girl recoiling from a roar. but that's what happens. <...what was that?> Her telepathic voice is a bit shaky.
[7:24pm] Steve: At the police desk, Steve looks back to the cell with surprise and alarm, especially when Gaav is hauling ass to get away from that cell. Quickly, Steve takes out his pokeball and recalls the spooked Charmeleon, before returning to the cell. "What the heck was that?"
[7:24pm] Garlyle: Oolong's answer is something it has trouble communicating.  According to it, he had one constant, pretty relaxed aura that suddenly flared up and practically filled the whole cell with a completely wild one while roaring - then it went completely back to normal.
[7:25pm] Garlyle: "Was Fera!" Ull seems pretty... proud of himself?
[7:25pm] • Reinhard cleans out his ears a little. "Nnngh. So Fera is, er."
[7:25pm] Camellia: (Fera is the underline ghost)
[7:25pm] Reinhard: "Is... you?"
[7:26pm] Camellia: "No, his aura was incredibly expansive for a moment, radiating from him in a large burst. Is that normal for humans?"
[7:27pm] Garlyle: Not normal at all, no.  Auras are usually pretty confined.
[7:27pm] • Sara just shrugs. Aura is something she never learned about.
[7:28pm] Garlyle: As for Reinhard's guess... "Yes.  No!"  That does not explain a goddamn thing.  "Ull is Fera's... thing... ah..." and now he's looking for words.
[7:28pm] Reinhard: "Fera's... Friend? Ally? Servant?"
[7:28pm] Camellia: "Can we meet Fera?"
[7:28pm] Steve: "I think we just did..." Steve mentions, in regards to that roar
[7:28pm] Sara: <So fera is...whatever it is that lets him do that?>
[7:31pm] Garlyle: "...Ally!"  Ull grins wide at being called that, but then seems to stop himself and shake his head.  "Is word... agh..." his eyes dart around the room a little then snap back to attention when Camellia asks a new question.
[7:31pm] Garlyle: "Maybe!"
[7:32pm] Camellia: "Can we try that now? Where can we go to meet Fera?"
[7:34pm] Garlyle: "In jungle!  Maybe.  Might say no." Ull seems to be pondering this.
[7:35pm] • Reinhard folds his arms and thinks a second. "What if..."
[7:35pm] Reinhard: "We figured out a way for you to get out of here, and be able to get food without being fought, and you let us meet Fera for that?"
[7:36pm] Camellia: "This Fera must be extraordinarily strong if it can lend its strength to Ull and still create such a large effect on his aura at a distance."
[7:37pm] Sara: <maybe...you're assuming that Fera is actively doing this, instead of Ull just being given his abilities from Fera.>
[7:37pm] Garlyle: "Want out!  Want out!" Ull seems quite fond of the idea.
[7:38pm] Reinhard: "I bet you do. But before you go out... You'll need to learn exactly why they fought you for taking food."
[7:38pm] Camellia: "No, I'm not. If that were the case, Fera would still need to be strong enough to grant abilities that cause Ull's aura to grow like that."
[7:38pm] Reinhard: "And more importantly, how to work WITH them. Maybe... hrm. This will probably be a long time."
[7:39pm] • Camellia starts to focus and stares down at the ground for a few seconds.
[7:39pm] Sara: <So...what do you think is going on with him?>
[7:39pm] Camellia: 1d20+7 Omen, DC is 10

[7:41pm] Camellia: "A pokemon of myth and legend." Camellia looks up. "Though one hasn't been here, in the village, for ages. He is connected to one, somehow."
[7:42pm] Sara: <do you know anything more about what it is, like specifically?>
[7:42pm] Reinhard: "But we know it's somewhere in the jungle? This is... much faster than I expected to hear of this!"
[7:43pm] Camellia: "I don't. They all give the same feeling, but..." Camellia pauses and shakes her head. "It's difficult to differentiate them from that alone."
[7:44pm] Reinhard: "In any case, we can hardly just run off after this thing and leave him to rot here. He needs to be rehabilitated!"
[7:44pm] Sara: <If he says it's in the jungle...then we might be able to find something. I can make it so my pokedex' radar picks stuff up from a really long ways away.>
[7:47pm] Camellia: "Do you know someone in the village who can teach Ull the notion of property and ownership?"
[7:48pm] Reinhard: "Not... particularly, but it has to have a school, no?"
[7:48pm] Reinhard: "Though--what if HE were the guard?"
[7:48pm] Reinhard: "We all came in here because the village is unprotected, no? And he's certainly BUILT to be able to do that sort of thing, let alone knowing the area well enough."
[7:48pm] Sara: <That...doesn't make sense...does it?>
[7:49pm] Camellia: "Would he even accept the position without an understanding of ownership?"
[7:49pm] Reinhard: "We just need someone to be willing to teach the man first, really."
[7:49pm] Sara: <Not sure we'll be able to find too many people like that here, though...>
[7:49pm] Garlyle: Ull sits back on his haunches and rocks back and forth a little, boredly, not really folloing the conversation.
[7:49pm] Kuji joined the chat room.

[7:50pm] Reinhard: "Nonsense, we just need to ask. In any case, I believe this should be planned out elsewhere."
[7:50pm] Camellia: "He doesn't seem to differentiate between people and pokemon when it comes to making friends, so someone with pokemon that could serve as good teachers of the concept would be preferable."
[7:51pm] Reinhard: "If there aren't any questions remaining... ah, hm. Pokemon."
[7:51pm] • Reinhard scratches his head more. "Doesn't the gym leader have one of those smart ones?"
[7:51pm] Sara: <I've been meaning to look into the gym, actually...one badge isn't too impressive on its own.>
[7:52pm] Camellia: "In the meantime, if you give me enough time, then I could pinpoint where Fera frequents in the jungle, but..." Camellia stands up and dusts herself off. "if Ull is an ally and is being kept imprisoned, we may get a cold reception."
[7:52pm] Steve: "It'd be irresponsible for us to let him out, though..." Steve tries to argue.
[7:53pm] Reinhard: "Well, not immediately!"
[7:53pm] Reinhard: "I'd prefer to work out who gets to teach him, then have him lead us, and after... whatever happens out there, we leave him to his new life."
[7:54pm] Camellia: "We don't have to. I'm just warning you of the risks of seeking out Fera now. I would still be willing to lead that kind of exploration into the jungle."
[7:54pm] Giantree left the chat room. (Ping timeout)

[7:55pm] Sara: <I ought to be able to help Camellia search for the pokemon, but I'm stumped on how we'll be able to reintegrate Ull...> Sara muses, her gauntlet-bearing left arm drooping at her side.
[7:55pm] Reinhard: "Then the only question is who starts off as the mediator, hm? I suppose we can simply tell Fera how we'd like to help Ull."
[7:56pm] Camellia: "That, I could try."
[7:57pm] Sara: <Anything I can do to help, just tell me.>
[7:57pm] Reinhard: "I do feel rather bad heading out on that one without anything else for him, though. What say we use the rest of the day asking around for someone, and get up early tomorrow to look into the jungle?"
[7:57pm] Camellia: "Then, should we start at the gym first?"
[7:57pm] Kuji joined the chat room.
[7:58pm] Reinhard: "Of course!"
[7:58pm] Sara: <That works.>

[7:59pm] • Steve scratches his head, unsure. "I...don't really take part in the gym circuit anymore. If it's all the same, I'd like to keep talking with Ull. You guys can go ahead."
[8:00pm] Reinhard: "If you're sure. Just scream if he does anything crazy then, hm?"
[8:00pm] • Camellia picks up her lantern and hooks Chammy back up onto her staff. "We'll be back, Ull. And maybe we'll talk to Fera."

[8:01pm] • Steve chuckles, and shows some of his Pokeballs. "I'll send someone to get help."
