Entering the main gate of Ashtan.
The noonday sun shines down, tinged grey by its passage through the thick clouds above. The world of people abruptly replaces the world of plains here, at the entrance to the city of Ashtan. Cobblestone streets stretch in many directions, houses and buildings of countless designs leading up to a grand statue to the north. The maze of opportunity and achievement that is this grand city-state begins at this spot beneath the arches of its main gates. The ivy clinging to the archway is the last victim of the wind of the plains that blows through this entrance, only to be snuffed out by the shelter and calm within. A runic totem is planted solidly in the ground. A ladder of long, soft leaves comprises a wispy Weaver's Fern along the ground. There are 2 Shadow Amazons here. A gleaming wooden sign is posted here. Polished marble gleaming, the Effigy of Victory resides here, a testament to the favour of the Great Mother. A sentry of the Vanguard maintains his vigil, a flame-blackened bardiche planted beside him. A thick stone slab stained with dried blood looms here, tainting the area with the profane worship of Babel. Wielding his hammer, a great granite statue of the ice giant, Oughlor stands sentinel. The impressive black and gold city gates of Ashtan tower above you. Casually sending electricity to dance between the fingers of her iron gauntlet, a smirking War Witch of Ashtan stands guard. Encased in gold-plated armour, a knight of the Illuminati stands motionless in silent vigil. A multitude of tentacles wreath Glaaki's slight frame in a halo of nearly-tangible power, each supple appendage rippling with serpentine undulations that are mesmerising in their fluidity. Pure black eyes, colour unbroken by iris or sclera, shine from within the shadows of his deep, fully-drawn hood, crystal-clear reflections visible moving across their inky wells. Draped in voluminous robes to hide skin and limb from view when necessary, Glaaki's slender and refined hands can be seen emerging from the soft midnight-blue folds of fabric, each finger tipped with gleaming sable-coloured claws sharp enough to peel flesh from bone, or score through solid rock.

Khaibit says in a gentle voice, "Then run away."

Hirst slowly fades into view, returning to the realm of perception.

Hirst utters a short incantation, his body slowly fading from sight. Only his laboured breathing warns you of his presence, and in seconds even this grows muffled and silent.

Dusk steals silently over the horizon and crimson and ochre engulf the firmament, their seductive tones beckoning the sun to its nightly repose.

With a screech of his claw upon stone, the Imperator meticulously etches his name into the rock surface of the Ruinous Accords.

Jinsun grins with an eerie satisfaction.

The Ruinous Accords react to the Overseer's touch, his name and title sealing Ashtan in pact with the Lords of the Chaos Plane as the Seat of Chaos.

The corners of Amelythe's mouth turn up as she grins mischievously.

Reiloch rubs his hands together as an evil grin creeps across his face.

Imperator Glaaki, the Eldritch Ascendant says, "Now, I believe a gift would be timely."

The miasma wafting about Dunn flares a bright green, fading into darker hues as his face forms into a sardonic grin that is quickly obscured by the dense mist.


A celebratory mirth twinkles unsettlingly across Glaaki's black eyes as the Imperator glances briefly to the northwest.

A triplicate scream of triumph resounds across the land as the guardian abomination takes its place within Ashtan, the Seat of Chaos.

Splashed with the reflected radiance of the stars, Achaea's outermost ring glitters ghostly pale against the night sky.

Imperator Glaaki, the Eldritch Ascendant says, "In accordance with the Accords, Jy'Barrak Dameron, my Hand, shall serve the Bastion in these formative years."

Jy'Barrak Dameron, the Hand lashes out, rending Grom's flesh repeatedly with his long claws. He steps back, sneering at Grom as the blood drips from his hands.

Rotose gives the world a smart salute.

Dunn raises an eyebrow questioningly.

Atalkez frowns at Grom.

Rotose shrugs helplessly.

Talonia's lips curve into a wicked smile.

continent of Sapience. Due to its seaport on the Sapphire Sea and its proximity
to the fertile Sangre Plains, Ashtan has been a dominant power on the continent
since the days of legend.

Borne upon an abominable alliance of ruthlessly enduring vendetta, military
might, and the terrible machinations of Imperator Glaaki and his Chaos Court,
rises Ashtan, the Seat of Chaos. Their profane aims are wrought with havoc and
destruction, utter ruin brought to bear against the orderly social and
theological structures that would dare oppose the Bastion and her hermetic
